The last period for everybody in the school was the same. Power Practice. It was like gym except instead of playing sports you had to practice your powers. Everybody was broken into seven groups. Sophomore girls, sophomore boys, junior girls, junior boys, senior girls, senior boys, and the freshman were always just grouped together. Everybody was still required to dress out in a CMHS shirt, gym shorts, and running shoes just like in a regular gym class and listen to coaches drone on all period.
The senior boys were inside the gymnasium waiting for the new coaches. It had been announced that every P.P. coach was new this year and no one had the slightest clue at who they could be. Tyler and Conner were standing next to each other while everyone was spread out throughout the gym.
"Do you know who the new teacher is?" Tyler asked Conner.
"Beats me, but my Dad says it's someone we know." Conner shrugged when a whistle was blown. Brice was talking with Julian when he saw who walked in. His mouth dropped and his eyes bugged out when he saw his dad walk in with Sonic.
"No way!" Brice yelled as everybody gathered around their new coaches.
"Hey everybody! I'm Sonic the Hedgehog, but don't call me 'Mr. Hedgehog' call me Sonic. Anyways me and Brice's father, Knuckles, are here to help you with your powers. I know you guys are seniors, but it's either fail this class or mess around with your powers for two hours. Is there really room for debate?" Sonic asked slowly pacing back and forth while Knuckles stood still. "And who better to help you with your powers than G.U.N. agents like us and graduates of this school." Sonic said proudly as Knuckles rolled his eyes.
"Enough talk, let's see these powers. Who wants to go first?" Knuckles asked looking around. Derek and Julian stepped out of the line at the same time and both looked at each other. They shrugged and decided to get this over with.
"Hey Knuckles, Sonic." Julian greeted walking over to them.
"Hey Julian! You should know that your Dad is teaching the sophomore boys." Sonic said as Julian grimaced. "But he isn't here today since Jillian went into labor so Shadow is substituting." He told him and Julian's jaw dropped.
"What? I got to get over there!" Julian exclaimed as he tried to leave the gym, but Knuckles stopped him by slamming his massive hand on his shoulder.
"To quote Todd: 'They get the picture and have been through it enough. Keep them at school.'" Knuckles told Julian and he sighed. Derek looked over at Sonic worriedly and Sonic grinned.
"Don't worry your Dad isn't teaching anything." Sonic said as Derek sighed in relief.
"All right, let's see those powers!" Knuckles exclaimed excitedly. Even though Sonic and Knuckles were fully aware of their powers, it was required for them to observe everyone's powers.
"Ladies first." Julian bowed as Derek rolled his eyes. Derek closed his eyes and took a deep breath through his nose. His eyes shot open and, unlike James, his pupils turned ice blue. He gathered the air around him and started to create a gust of wind. He forced the wind between his hands and made a sphere of pure ice before he chucked it over to Sonic who grabbed it and tossed it to Knuckles.
"Very Ni—"Sonic said before Derek raised his hand again telling him to wait. He pointed his hand at Julian. Derek's eyes turned gold and he stared at Julian intensely. Julian's eyes soon became gold as well and he sluggishly turned towards Knuckles.
"Knuckles you should know that Brice has a crush on some girl." Julian announced in a monotone voice. Knuckles raised an eyebrow towards his son who was furiously shaking his head embarrassed.
"Hypnosis, very nice." Sonic said as Derek's eyes returned to normal and Julian regained control over himself. Julian shook his head and glared at Derek.
"My turn." Julian said as his pupils turned dark blue and his hands stared to glow. He put his hands in front of himself and pointed them towards Derek. The same blue glow that was around Julian's hands went around Derek. Suddenly Derek's eyes popped open and he couldn't move. He tried his best to break free, but Julian's hold was too strong. Julian smirked with satisfaction and tightened his eyes. He lifted Derek in the air and sent him flying across the gym. Derek landed gracefully and glared at Julian with his ice blue eyes and froze his feet to the ground. Julian raised Derek in the air and was about to send him flying again before Sonic stepped in between them.
"Okay, okay I think we should end this before a real fight breaks out." Sonic said as Julian let go of Derek and Derek unfroze Julian's feet. They both shook hands with no hard feelings.
"Good job guys, and remember this isn't a competition." Knuckles told them as they walked back towards the group.
"Okay, who's next?" Sonic asked as boys continued to step forward showing their powers. Eventually Conner and Tyler stood up and faced each other. Tyler was carrying his skateboard with him, which confused Sonic and Knuckles.
"Uh…Tyler we know you like skateboarding, but you don't really need your board." Knuckles said as Tyler smiled.
"Oh don't worry Knuckles this is my power." Tyler said walking to the other side of the gym. It was then that Sonic and Knuckles noticed that there were no wheels on Tyler's skateboard. "Go for it Conner!" Tyler called out as Conner's eyes turned bright green. He lifted a rock from under him and made it so that he was standing on it as he floated over the ground. He started breaking it apart and flicking rocks at Tyler. Tyler quickly got on his board and started floating in the air and successfully dodged each one of Conner's attacks.
"Levitation and Earth Powers, impressive." Sonic said writing it down on his clipboard. They got down and took a bow as they went back to the line. The practice continued on with everybody performing their powers. Brice started to walk up to show off his powers, but Knuckles shooed him away saying he already knew what his powers were, which were a sonic screech and his father's strength to pummel through the Earth like nobody's business. Brice pouted and slunk back into the group. Meanwhile, at the second gymnasium, the senior girls were waiting for their coaches to arrive. Serenity and Ginger were sitting on the bleachers talking when Serenity's phone dinged with a text. She pulled her phone out and saw that it was from Julian.
You'll never guess who our new coaches are…Knuckles and Sonic!
Serenity and Ginger's eyes widened when they read the text. All the Power Practice coaches were new…does that mean it's all their parents?
"Okay girls line up!" Luna called out walking in. Well, that answers their question. Ginger tried to hide herself behind Serenity, but it was no use. "Hi sweetie!" Luna said waving at Ginger. All the girls started to giggle as Ginger lowered her head. "Hello everybody I'm Mrs. Romaro, but I'd rather be called Luna. Anyways I'm not going to bore you with a long speech. So, who wants to show off their powers first?"
"I'll go." Serenity said as she moved to the corner of the gym. She ran extremely fast around the gym one hundred times in a couple of seconds. Everybody clapped as she moved to the center of the gym. "Chaos Control!" She called out before she disappeared in a flash of purple and appeared beside Ginger. Serenity was the first of her siblings to figure out to Chaos Control without an emerald, but Ebony is slowly figuring it out.
"Thank you, Serenity." Luna said as she wrote down her powers. A couple of girls went before Liecy and Nicole decided to go. They both stood in the center of the gym and Nicole motioned for Liecy to go first. Pink and lavender sparkles and mist surrounded Liecy's hands and slowly some began to surround Nicole. Nicole didn't move because she knew her cousin wouldn't hurt her. She was slowly lifted into the air and began to float around with the sparkles still surrounding. Liecy gently put Nicole back on the ground as some of the newer kids watched in awe.
"What the hell?" A girl yelled and Liecy and Nicole laughed.
"I have magical powers." Liecy said wiggling her fingers as more sparkles surrounded them. Nicole laughed with her cousin before Liecy told her to show off her powers.
Nicole's eyes turned a murky blue before her hands became surrounded by wind and ice. She shot her hands upward and snow exploded out of them and towards the ceiling. It started snow all across the gym and everybody cheered for the cool down since it was still blazing hot outside. She cleaned up the snow though since other people still had to go and it would just melt and flood the gym. Nicole's eyes reverted back to normal and she smiled at Luna.
"Thank you, girls." Luna told them as Nicole and Liecy walked back towards the bleachers. "Ginger?" Luna asked and Ginger shrugged before her hand became surrounded with water. "Thank you." She laughed and Ginger sighed gratefully because she already felt like she had enough attention on her with her mom being the coach. She didn't need to create a grand performance to show that she can control water.
On the soccer field, the junior boys were gathered around one of the goal posts. By now the rumors of the parents being the coaches had reached them and Andrew, Roddy, and Hydro were trying to figure out who could possibly be their coaches.
"I don't think my Dad will do it. He would have said something to me." Roddy said as he crossed his arms.
"I actually heard your dad is the coach for the seniors." Hydro said and Roddy shrugged.
"At least he's not here then." He said and Andrew sighed.
"I wish we knew who's it going to be." He muttered.
"I know someone who'd know." Hydro said as Andrew and Roddy looked at him confused. "Shawn!" Hydro called out as Shawn turned his head towards Hydro. Shawn and Onyx walked over to them and Shawn flicked his head towards Hydro.
"What's up?" Shawn asked.
"Who are the co—"Hydro was cut off by a familiar voice.
"Okay guys line up!" Static shouted as he made his way to the field followed by Reese. Andrew, Roddy, and Onyx snickered as Shawn and Hydro sighed heavily.
"Shawn Romaro and Hydro Storm please step forward" Reese said as some of the guys laughed and Shawn and Hydro slowly walked over to their dads.
"Okay let's go." Static said as he motioned for his son to follow him towards the center of the field.
"What?" Hydro asked looking at Static confused.
"You're going to fight me. Now c'mon." Static said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Hydro thought he was going to go against Shawn not his dad.
"Why?" Hydro complained as he walked to the center of the field.
"Grow up and deal with it." Static said as he stood across from him. Electricity surged around his hands as he smirked at his son.
"Fine Dad, don't say I didn't give you the option of not being embarrassed in front of your new students." Hydro said as he collected water from the air and surrounded his hands and arms in water.
"Don't worry about it. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine." Static said as Reese rolled his eyes.
"Would the cocky son and father just start already?" Reese shouted as the class tried to hold back some laughter. Static shot an electric ball at Hydro that he quickly blocked with a water shield.
"Not bad." Static said as Hydro smirked.
"I was taught from the best…Mom that is." Hydro said as Static charged him at a great speed, but Hydro jumped over him and landed on the other side of the field. Hydro made it rain, but another kid in the class kept a shield over the class to prevent them from getting wet. "You're on my turf now." Hydro said as Static shook his head.
"You should always know when there's a storm there's lightning." Static said as he made a lightning bolt from the sky fire towards Hydro, but he dodged it quickly. Hydro turned some raindrops into ice crystals and flinged them at Static. Static shot them down with sparks as Reese came out of the force field.
"I know you guys like to fight each other, but we don't have the whole period to do this. Can you do this at home?" Reese said as Hydro stopped the storm and crossed his arms along with Static.
"Fine." They both grumbled as they returned to the class.
"Okay…Hydro water powers, speed, and…" Reese said writing his powers down as Static walked up to him.
"Can breathe underwater." Static told him as Reese wrote it down.
"Shawn…can predict the future." Reese said as he wrote it down. Shawn shrugged and walked over towards the group again since he couldn't really display his power. "Who's next?"
"Me and Roddy." Andrew said as they walked to the center of the field.
"Roddy and I." Reese corrected and they both just rolled their eyes.
"Okay, start whenever you want to." Static said as Andrew smirked. His eyes suddenly became a bright orange color and he shot out fire from his hands as Roddy back flipped out of the way. "Don't burn the field down!" Static yelled as he looked at the scorch mark on the grass. Roddy landed on his feet and smirked. Andrew threw another fireball at Roddy who disappeared. He reappeared behind Andrew and kicked him in the back, but Andrew simply back flipped and landed facing Roddy.
"Teleportation and fire." Reese wrote down nodding in approval. Guys started to come and go, displaying their various powers and soon it was Onyx's turn.
"Okay everybody jump up when I say so." Onyx said.
"Why?" Some kid asked.
"Trust him, just do it." Shawn said as Onyx moved into the center of the field. He jumped into the air.
"Jump!" He shouted as about half the group did. He punched the ground and it sent a shockwave throughout the whole school causing a small earthquake. The ones who didn't jump landed on their asses and Onyx couldn't help but smirk a bit when he landed back on the ground.
"Earthquakes and shockwaves." Reese said as Onyx made his way back towards the group. On the baseball field the junior girls were there anxiously waiting for their coaches.
"Okay girls line up!" Rouge shouted as she walked up to them.
"No!" Ruby said falling onto her knees.
"Don't be so overdramatic, Ruby." Rouge rolled her eyes at her daughter. Ruby sighed and quickly hid herself behind Topaz who laughed.
"Can I go first?" Lauren asked raising her hand and Rouge looked at her confused.
"Aren't you in the wrong class?" She asked.
"Temporary. They haven't switched my schedule around yet." Lauren explained. "So, can I go first?" She asked.
"I don't know can you?" Rouge asked and Lauren rolled her eyes.
"May I go first?" Lauren asked as Rouge smiled and nodded. Lauren walked into the center and turned around swiftly. "Does anybody feel hot?" She asked as the majority of the class raised their hands. Lauren smiled and took a deep breath. Suddenly a rush of cool air came around the class and they started to shiver. Unlike the others who can control water and ice, she could do so solely with her mind and not with the body.
"V-v-very n-n-n-i-ice." Rouge said as Lauren smiled and walked back to the group.
"Oh, I can read minds too." Lauren said as Rouge nodded and wrote it down.
"Who—"Rouge was cut off by Ebony.
"Lilac and I!" Ebony yelled as she pulled Lilac to the center of the field. Lilac hung her head down as she was being pulled. "Don't worry Lilac, it will be fine." Ebony said comforting her. Ebony pulled out her hammer and walked away from Lilac. Lilac lifted her hands towards Ebony and fired missiles from them. Ebony knocked them away from her like they were baseballs where they proceeded to explode in the sky. Ebony ran around Lilac to show her speed and bowed when she was done.
"Thank you ladies." Rouge said writing down their powers. Few girls showed off their powers when Ruby and Topaz were up. Ruby sighed annoyed as she walked into the center of the field.
"Topaz you go first." Ruby said as Topaz smiled and nodded. Her hands started to glow yellow and she started lifting girls in the air with her powers. She proceeded to put them all down gently and Rouge thanked for her demonstration.
"Do I have to do this? You already know my power." Ruby complained to her Mom.
"Just do it Ruby!" Topaz said as Ruby rolled her eyes. She walked up to a set of bleachers and lifted them up with one hand and no sign of struggle. She placed them back carefully and started to walk back towards the group.
"Happy now?" She muttered crossing her arms. Rouge sighed and wrote down her daughter's powers.
"Teenagers." She mumbled as Ruby passed by.
"Parents." She retorted and Rouge laughed. Across campus the sophomore boys were on the track field waiting for their coaches. Shade and Bolt were talking to each other about the coaches and how they heard it was their group of parents.
"Line your lazy asses up guys!" A familiar voice called out. Shade and Bolt looked behind them in horror to see both Shadow and Spark standing there.
"Shit!" Bolt said as he got into line.
"I told you I'd make this year fun." Spark said to his son.
"This isn't my idea of fun." Bolt said as Spark smirked.
"It's mine." He practically sang as he walked to the front and stood by Shadow. "I think everybody knows who's going to go first." Spark said as everybody turned towards Bolt and Shade.
"That's right! Bolt and Shade get up here." Shadow said as they dragged themselves to the front. Shade and Bolt both started walking to the center, but were stopped.
"Where are you two going? You don't think you're facing each other, do you?" Spark asked as he and Shadow laughed.
"You're facing us." Shadow said as Bolt smirked and Shade dropped his head.
"Fine, let's go Daddy dearest." Bolt said as he and Spark walked out to the field. Both of their hands began to surge with electricity, but it was Bolt to shoot the first attack. Spark merely rolled his eyes and let the electricity phase through his body.
"Rookie move." Spark said as Bolt just smirked. He descended into the ground and Spark was shocked because he didn't know that his son actually learned to do that yet. Bolt's hands appeared underneath Spark and he electrocuted his body before freezing his feet to the ground. Spark broke free from the ice and slammed his hands onto the ground sending electricity throughout it. Bolt flew out from the ground and Spark was quick to charge towards him at full speed. Bolt dodged him and they proceeded to speed around the field exchanging and dodging blows. Spark kicked Bolt in the chest sending him flying to the ground and onto his back. He placed his foot on Bolt's chest and smiled down at him.
"Did you really think you could beat me?" Spark asked. Bolt smirked at his father.
"Yes." He said as he grabbed Spark's leg and electrocuted him before getting up and throwing him across the field. "First rule: Don't get too cocky. You taught me that, Dad." Bolt said to his father on the ground. Spark got up and dusted himself off.
"I guess I'm getting too old for this." Spark sighed as Bolt started walking back to the cheering group of students. Spark swung his foot under Bolt making him land on his face and shocked him. "Then again it's all about what's in here." Spark said tapping the side of his head.
"Okay you two can continue your never-ending battle at home. It's my and Shade's turn." Shadow said as they walked to the center of the field. This was a real treat for the rest of the students because they get to see world-class fighters take on their children and they get to laze around and just watch some fights happen. Shadow brought out the green Chaos Emerald and Shade's mouth dropped.
"Oh c'mon Dad! That's total BS that you get to use yours when I don't!" Shade complained as Shadow rolled his eyes.
"Don't worry I'm letting you use it for this." Shadow said chucking a blue Chaos Emerald at him. Shade grabbed it and smiled.
"Let the battle begin!" Spark announced like a wrestling announcer. Shadow rolled his eyes as he looked over to his son.
"Chaos Spear!" Shadow yelled as yellow spears flew out of his hands and towards Shade. Shade dodged them swiftly without any trouble and jumped high in the air and into a ball. He charged Shadow in a homing-attack that Shadow quickly dodged.
"Chaos Spiral!" Shade yelled as he spun in the air like a drill and attacked Shadow on the ground. When the dust cleared Shade saw that his father wasn't there. He was suddenly kicked behind the back.
"You should know by now about Chaos Control." He said as they threw punches back and forth.
"You're right." He said as he disappeared in a flash of blue. "Chaos Blast!" He said as Shadow got blasted with a blue explosion. Shadow skidded on the ground and charged at Shade. He sped right passed Shade which made him confused, but soon realized his Chaos Emerald was gone.
"You need to learn to fight without this." He said holding his emerald. Shade huffed and went back to the group. Shadow back flipped back next to Spark who rolled his eyes.
"You seriously don't have to do that every time, walking would work." Spark said as Shadow rolled his eyes. They started to let the boys show their powers when soon enough it was Lazarus' and AJ's turn.
"Hey AJ you should know that Shadow is actually a sub and your dad is the coach for this class, but he had to go to the hospital because your Mom's giving birth." Spark said casually as AJ's eyes widened and you could faintly hear Shade's cheering.
"What? He's coaching?" AJ exclaimed as Lazarus smacked his forehead.
"You're more worried about that then the fact that your Mom is in labor with your new brother or sister?" Lazarus asked as AJ realized what the second thing Spark said was.
"She's having the baby and they decided not to tell me?" AJ yelled as Spark rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah just show us your powers already." Spark said pushing him onto the field. AJ sighed and walked out with Lazarus. They faced each other as Lazarus smirked.
"Give me your best shot." Lazarus said as he moved his fingers in that motion. AJ rolled his eyes as he stomped the ground and several different rocks of different shapes appeared in the air around him. He flung them all at Lazarus who yawned and dodged them with ease. He was dodging everything so fast he looked like one big blur. AJ jumped when he felt Lazarus tap him on the shoulder.
"How did you—"AJ said but was cut off by Lazarus.
"Fast…remember?" Lazarus said as AJ rolled his eyes.
"Okay we have Agility and Speed and Earth Powers." Shadow said writing it down on the clipboard. "Who's next?" He asked looking at the group. On the second soccer field the sophomore girls were chatting when their coach came in.
"Okay girls line up." Midnight said walking in with Blaze behind her. Tsunami and Amber turned around sharply and gasped. "Hi sweetheart!" Midnight waved towards Tsunami as she blushed a bright shade of red. Amber and Tsunami went to the back of the line and hid themselves from their mothers.
"Okay girls, I'm Midnight and this is Blaze. Don't brother with our last names we won't respond to them." Midnight said as she smiled to the group of girls.
"Well enough talk, who would like to go first?" Blaze said as girls' hands shot up. Girls kept switching off showing their powers back and forth before it came to Chrissy.
"Uh, you know, just super smart." Chrissy shrugged and Midnight smirked.
"Solve this problem." Midnight told her pulling out a sheet of paper with a complicated math equation. "You have 30 seconds." She said pulling out a stopwatch. Chrissy held the paper in front of her as everybody watched her.
"The answer is 0.410." Chrissy told her with 15 seconds to spare.
"Congratulations! You just solved a problem your father was stuck on for three hours." Midnight said as Chrissy laughed. She fell back into line with the rest of the girls and Midnight turned to look at her daughter and Amber.
"But why do we have to go?" Amber asked Blaze.
"We don't want to be unfair just go ahead and knock them dead." Blaze said as Tsunami and Amber sighed. They walked into the center of the field and faced each other. Tsunami shot water towards Amber as Amber shot fire towards Tsunami. When the water and fire collided in the middle the field was covered by steam. Midnight and Blaze were smiling proudly while the rest of the girls were blowing steam away from their faces.
"That's my girl!" Midnight yelled and Tsunami couldn't but smile a bit. The freshmen were waiting for the arrival of their coach on the tennis courts. Suzy and Ivy were talking when a light blue fox approached them. They laughed when they saw a couple of guys staring after her in awe. The fox had long gold hair with bangs swept to the side in front of her face showcasing her bright magenta-colored eyes. The tip of her tail was gold matching her hair and she had a white muzzle.
"Where have you been all day Hailey?" Ivy asked while throwing her hands dramatically in the air.
"Well you guys aren't in my classes and I wasn't at lunch because I had lunch detention." Hailey said as Suzy's and Ivy's eyes widened.
"Hey cuz, what's up?" Flash said putting an arm around his beloved cousin.
"Don't mess with me right now Flash!" Hailey said as Flash put his hands up defensively.
"How did you get lunch detention?" Suzy asked.
"Whoa you got lunch detention?" Flash exclaimed as Hailey rolled her eyes.
"You guys are overreacting! I got it because I was caught texting." Hailey said as Ivy and Suzy looked at each other.
"Let me guess, you were texting Lorgo." Suzy said as Hailey blushed.
"She's blushing! It's true! I swear ever since he moved to San Francisco you guys haven't stopped talking! And you two are not even together!" Ivy exclaimed as Flash laughed.
"If Bolt or Dad found out we were dating—which we aren't—he would be dead and then I would be." Hailey said as Flash laughed even more.
"That's so true! I remember last year at our graduation dance Bolt shocked the guy into submission you were dancing with." Flash said as he started to laugh harder.
"Don't make me do that to you." She said raising her fist that was surging with electricity.
"I don't understand, Bolt likes Lorgo." Suzy said looking at her confused.
"It doesn't matter! As long as he is a boy and I'm a girl and if we get together that is going to look bad to Bolt and my Dad." Hailey said with a sigh. "And it's no point now he's all the way in SF." Hailey said.
"Why did he even go to the other school? He has powers." Ivy said as Hailey crossed her arms.
"His parents wanted him to learn to control his powers more and sending him to the non-gifted school will apparently do that." Hailey said rolling her eyes.
"Are you kidding me? Lorgo has the most control over his powers than any other kid I know!" Flash said as Suzy and Ivy nodded in agreement.
"Okay kids line up!" The coach said walking in.
"No way! It can't be…" Ivy said turning around to see her Mom standing there. "Mom!" She said running over to her Mom and hugging her. She was probably the only child that was happy her parent was coaching.
"Hey Ivy!" Rebecca said wrapping her arms around her daughter.
"You never told me you were coaching." She said pulling away.
"Surprise." She said smiling sheepishly. Ivy smiled and skipped back to Suzy, Hailey, and Flash. "Okay kids let's see some powers." Rebecca said as a few kids cheered. Ivy, of course, offered for her and Suzy to go first. They both faced each other and smiled. Suzy suddenly changed herself to look like Ivy and some people looked in awe as some glared in envy. Suzy changed back to herself and started read through everybody's mind.
"Yes there is a test next week, Flash." Suzy said as Flash looked at her confused.
"Oh I get it…you can read minds. Cool!" Flash said as Suzy smiled. Ivy turned towards Hailey and smiled brightly.
"Hailey, shock me." Ivy said as Hailey raised an eyebrow.
"What?" Hailey asked confused.
"Shock me." She said more clearly.
"I'm not going to shock you!" Hailey yelled.
"I will." Flash said sending an electric ball at her. It hit her in the leg and she winced in pain. Everybody gasped except for Rebecca, Hailey, Flash, and Suzy. Suddenly the burn mark disappeared and Ivy jumped up cheerful as ever.
"Healing, shape shifting, and mind reading." Rebecca said writing it down. More kids started to go until Hailey and Flash went.
"We both have electrical powers and can run at super speed. I can phase through objects and freeze things." Hailey said as Flash sighed.
"I wanted to show my powers!" He complained.
"I just said them, you can still show them." Hailey said as Flash smiled. He sent fireworks into the sky that spelled out his name just like his father used to do. Hailey put them out before they touched the ground or hit anybody. Practice was all done along with the first day of school. Too bad they had nine more months.
