"C'mon Topaz! I have to find an outfit!" Amber yelled dragging her sister by the arm through the mall. "The party is tonight and I want to look good!" She said pulling her into the twelfth store they've been in.
"Why? It's just another party?" Topaz asked pulling her arm out of Amber's grip.
"Yeah, but this is my first party with a date and I want to look amazing!" Amber exclaimed as she shifted through racks and racks of clothing.
"You can wear a potato sack and AJ will still think you look hot." Topaz muttered as Amber turned put her hands on her hips.
"Are you going to help me or not?" She asked as Topaz rolled her eyes and followed her to the shoe section.
"Whose party is it anyways?" Topaz asked as Amber started to fling shoes at her.
"Some Mist girl or something." Amber mumbled as she looked through more shoes. Elsewhere, Brice had Onyx and Tyler in his car driving them to his house.
"Why do we have to go?" Onyx mumbled.
"Because this could be the only chance I get to talk to Nicole and I need you guys there to back me up." Brice said as he pulled into his driveway. Onyx sighed while Tyler chuckled and got out of the car.
"C'mon some parties are actually fun." Tyler said as Onyx exited his brother's Camaro.
"Yeah lighten up!" Brice exclaimed as he pinched Onyx's cheek. Onyx shoved his brother off of him and glared. "I don't even know why you're complaining. You got to know that Amber is going to make Topaz go ergo you're going." He said as they all walked into the house.
"Hi boys!" Rouge greeted from her spot in front of her computer. Brice mumbled a hey before sticking his head into the fridge. "How was school?" She asked looking over at Onyx who simply shrugged.
"My mom wanted to thank you for the…what are they called…uh…the spiky looking flowers?" Tyler mumbled and Rouge laughed.
"The chrysanthemums?" Rouge asked.
"Yeah those! She said they're really pretty." Tyler told her and Rouge thanked him. Brice lifted his head away from the fridge while pulling out stuff to make himself a sandwich. Rouge sighed as she grabbed the stuff out of her son's hand.
"Face it you are your Dad's son. You might as well ask me to make it." Rouge muttered as she waved him off.
"Thanks Mom." Brice said kissing his mother on the cheek.
"BRICE THE ECHIDNA GET YOUR ASS UP HERE NOW!" Knuckles yelled, his voice echoing throughout the house. Onyx snickered while Tyler just shook his head and Brice cringed.
"What did you do now?" Rouge asked putting a hand on her hip.
"Uh…well…" Brice stuttered.
"He ditched his Ceramics class." Onyx said and Brice glared at his brother who just stared back at him smugly.
"Brice that's the third time!" Rouge exclaimed as Brice lowered his head. He started to drag himself upstairs as Onyx and Tyler laughed. Brice glared at them while Rouge just shook her head. Back at the school, baseball practice was happening and Shawn was all but ready to leave. Having Ricky as the coach is really making him reconsider playing baseball.
"Boys line up!" Ricky called out as all the boys in the team lined up. They were taking turns batting when it came to Shawn to bat. Shawn tripped over someone's foot and he looked to see a dark, almost black, green echidna with gold eyes. His dreads were wrapped with black wrappings and he had a small fang on the side of his mouth. He looked vaguely familiar, but Shawn quickly brushed it off before standing back up and facing the echidna.
"What the hell is your problem?" Shawn asked glaring at him.
"I don't know what you're talking about." He said innocently smirking at Shawn.
"What's going on here son?" Ricky asked walking up to the both of them. Shawn's eyes widened as he looked back and forth between Ricky and his son.
"He's your son?" Shawn blurted out as Ricky's son smirked.
"Yup Jared Anderson." Ricky said putting a hand on Jared's shoulder proudly. "Now if there aren't any more interruptions we can get back to practice." Ricky said as he went back to the pitchers mount. It suddenly hit Shawn as to why Jared looked familiar. He was the guy from his vision that ended up dating Ruby. His eyes hardened as he thought about him and her together. It made him absolutely sick.
"Hey, are you okay?" Flash asked snapping Shawn out his thoughts.
"Yeah." He muttered emotionlessly. Flash looked at Hydro who shrugged his shoulders. Derek was driving towards the party with Ginger in the passenger seat…and Lazarus and AJ in the back.
"I can't believe I'm even going." Derek mumbled as AJ rolled his eyes.
"Deal with it. We got Ginger to go too." AJ smirked as Ginger crossed her arms.
"Be glad I even agreed to go." Ginger muttered as Derek smirked. "What?" She asked looking at him smirking.
"It's cute when you're mad." He told her as Lazarus and AJ made gagging noises from the backseat. Ginger just blushed while Derek parked on the street a block away from the house where the party was happening. "Let's get this over with." He sighed as he got out of his car. They walked down the street to the mansion and saw kids already drinking and dancing. Derek sighed again and Ginger held his hand in comfort. They all walked in to see the same as the outside only more. Suddenly a short icy blue hedgehog with lighter blue quills in low pigtails jumped in front of them.
"Hey I'm Mist! Welcome to my party!" She exclaimed.
"Hey I'm Lazarus, this is AJ and that's Derek and his girlfriend Ginger." Lazarus said pointing out everybody.
"You guys are such the cutest couple!" Mist gushed as Ginger and Derek blushed. "Anyways don't break anything because you will be charged for it. Bye!" She said skipping away.
"Wow that was random." AJ said as they all nodded. Outside, Bolt was with Chrissy, Shade, and Shawn by the pool where people were getting pushed into the pool or just hanging around it. Bolt saw Joseph and his grip on Chrissy's waist immediately tightened.
"What's wrong?" Chrissy asked as Bolt nudged his chin in Joseph's direction. "Just ignore him and he won't bug you." She told him placing her hand on his chest. He sighed before suggesting they head back inside. They told Shawn and Shad before heading back inside.
"Dude, are you okay?" Shade asked looking at Shawn who was peeling back the label on his beer.
"I'm fine." He mumbled.
"No you're not. Seriously, what's wrong?" Shade asked on the tree that was between them.
"I just had a bad prediction." Shawn sighed.
"What happened?" Shade asked.
"Oh you know, just the girl I have a massive crush on ends up dating the douche son of my parents' enemy." Shawn scowled while Shade grimaced.
"Oh that sucks." He said and Shawn rolled his eyes.
"Oh really? Could've fooled me." He said sarcastically as Shade smiled apologetically. Shawn slumped his shoulders when he saw Ruby walking outside with Tsunami. "And here it goes." He muttered as he saw Jared walking over to Ruby. Shade looked over to where Shawn had pointed and his eyes widened.
"You like Ruby?" He shouted and Shawn glared at him.
"Say it any louder why don't you?" He muttered as Shade still had his shocked expression locked into place. "I'm going inside." He said as he walked away from Shade.
"Hey Shade." Suzy said suddenly appearing next to him. He shook his head and looked to see Shawn's retreating form before looking back at Suzy.
"Hey Suzy. Let me guess, you're here without either of your brothers knowing." Shade smirked.
"Good guess." She said and he laughed. "You were right about the whole 'Romeo and Juliet' thing, but luckily for me all grades are allowed to try out." She said as Shade rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, but you can still get a part in the play." Shade said as Suzy snorted.
"I doubt it." She said as Shade shook his head.
"Oh c'mon, I've met your Dad and he is so overdramatic. I'm sure you picked up a thing or two on acting from him." He said making Suzy laugh.
"My Dad isn't overdramatic." Suzy laughed and Shade scoffed.
"Let's look back at the time he nearly fell out of his seat cheering for your Mom at their high school Graduation." Shade pointed out as Suzy shrugged.
"That's not overdramatic. That's spirited." She grinned and Shade rolled his eyes. "You do that a lot, don't you?" She asked as Shade looked at her confused. "Roll your eyes." She said as Shade laughed.
"It's a thing I picked up from my Dad." He shrugged.
"Hey Shade." Allie smirked as Suzy looked at her. "What are you doing with a freshman?" She sneered with disgust and Suzy glared at her.
"She's my friend, Allie." Shade said as Allie rolled her eyes and leaned over to his ear.
"Ditch the freshman and let's go have some real fun." She whispered into his ear, which made him cringe in disgust. Suzy read her mind and saw exactly what she wanted to do and she pulled her off Shade using one of her dreads. "Excuse me? What the hell did you just do?" She screeched.
"Well," Suzy said imitating her voice making Shade bite his lip to hold back his laughter. "I think I just pulled you away from molesting my friend, but I guess you're really are that stupid that you can't even figure it out." Suzy said as Allie glared at her.
"Whatever. Shade let's ditch this bitch and go somewhere else." Allie sneered grabbing Shade's hand.
"I rather stay with Suzy." Shade said pulling his hand away.
"What?" She gasped putting her hands on her hips.
"I said I rather stay with Suzy." Shade said it slower like she was a child. Allie screamed and stomped away angrily. Suzy and Shade began to crack up as they watched the purple echidna leave. Suzy noticed AJ and Lazarus come outside and she changed into a black fox with purple eyes and hair to her shoulders.
"Hey Shade…who's this girl?" AJ asked as Lazarus left to go talk to Tsunami.
"This is uh…Megan." Shade said as Suzy smiled in her new form.
"'Sup. Have you seen my sister? Allie came stomping into the house yelling about a peach and lavender freshman." AJ asked and Shade shrugged his shoulders innocently.
"Uh…no, I haven't seen her all night." Shade told him.
"Well keep a look out for her, but don't you try anything with her!" AJ warned before he walked away.
"Well that was pleasant." Shade said as Suzy rolled her eyes. She went back to herself when she knew the coast was clear and crossed her arms.
"I wish he would leave me alone." She muttered as Shade put his hand on her shoulder.
"He's just looking after you. Maybe a little too much, but he will ease up soon." Shade said as Suzy smiled.
"How do you know?" She asked as Shade smiled.
"I'm a good guesser." Shade grinned as Suzy laughed. Brice was sitting on a chair in the kitchen tapping his foot impatiently. Onyx was there with Topaz watching as his brother was slowly sinking into insanity.
"You have to calm down." Onyx said.
"Yeah, yeah I'm just wondering where she could be." Brice waved him off as he looked around.
"Well if you keeping sitting on your ass you'll never find her. You need to get up and look for her." Onyx told him and Brice paused his tapping to think about it.
"I'm going to go look for her." Brice decided as he left the kitchen and entered the dance area and began his search. Onyx shook his head while Topaz laughed. They walked outside and met up with Tsunami. They were all talking to each other when Tsunami felt a pair of arms wrap around her and she knew who it was or so she thought. She turned around and saw Will looking at her with an cheesy smirk.
"Hey baby. You got away from me the other day." He said slowly pushing her against the wall while still keeping her in his arms. Onyx ran off to find Lazarus all the while Topaz stood by her friend making sure Will didn't do anything.
"Get off me you perv!" She said trying to push him off. He wouldn't budge and she rolled her eyes. She aimed her hand at him, but water didn't come out. He smirked as he laughed.
"You don't know my power do you?" He said as her eyes widened in fear. "I stop all powers from even happening." He said as he came closer to her.
"Get off her you bastard!" Lazarus yelled as he tackled Will to the ground. He started to punch him while atop of him. Will used his claws and scratched him across his face. Lazarus wiped the blood off before he was tackled down to the ground. His powers was stopped by Will and he had to use his normal speed and strength in this fight. Lazarus took a punch to the jaw as Will smirked. Lazarus kicked him off of him and punched him rapidly in the stomach and face. He grabbed Will by his collar and slammed him onto the ground and stomped on his chest. "Touch her again and trust me it will be worse." Lazarus said before kicking him unconscious. Lazarus ran to Tsunami and wrapped his arms around her.
"You're bleeding." She said putting her hand on his face.
"I'll be fine. Let's just get out of here." Lazarus said and Tsunami agreed. They said their goodbyes to Onyx and Topaz, Tsunami thanking Onyx for getting Lazarus, before they left the party. Serenity was talking to Julian, Ginger, and Derek in a small circle on the side of the house when Julian suddenly smirked.
"What?" Serenity asked when she took notice of Julian's expression.
"Nothing." He grinned hiding his laughter. A group of boys suddenly surrounded Serenity blocking her from her friends. "Have fun." Julian sang as he laughed and Ginger rolled her eyes. Serenity sighed as the boys kept asking her to dance and she tried to decline them all politely. She suddenly felt the ground from under her move and she looked down to see she was being lifted off the ground on a small platform. The guys all backed away as she floated to the other side of the party. She landed in front a familiar face and she smiled.
"Thought you could use some help." Conner said.
"My hero." She muttered sarcastically and Conner chuckled.
"That's what I'm here for." Conner grinned as Serenity blushed slightly. "Would you like to dance?" He asked and she looked at him confused. They were in a rather secluded part of the party outside where the only thing your could really hear was the bass of the music and people's chattering. "Just pretend a cheesy love song is playing right now." He told her making her laugh. She placed her arms around his neck while he placed his arms around her waist and looked into her gorgeous emerald eyes. "You look beautiful tonight." He told and she blushed.
"Do you always have to do that?" Serenity asked and Conner raised an eyebrow.
"What do I always do?" Conner asked as Serenity looked up to him.
"Make me blush." She said and he chuckled.
"I'll try to stop." Conner told her and Serenity shook her head
"I don't mind." She said resting her head on his shoulder. Conner felt a wave of happiness go through him and he smiled. They spent several minutes swaying softly back and forth before Conner sighed heavily.
"Well I guess you want to go back to your friends now." He said as he dropped his hands from her waist.
"I don't think the song has ended." Serenity grinned as she kept her arms wrapped around his neck. He smiled and put his hands back around her waist. Back inside the house, Andrew was talking to Hydro when he spotted Ebony talk to Liecy and Tyler.
"You still haven't talked to her since that night at the Masquerade Ball?" Hydro asked as Andrew shook his head. "Well here's your chance." He said pushing Andrew towards Ebony. He managed to stop himself before he crashed into her, but she still noticed him and turned to look at him.
"Uh hey." Andrew said as he waved lamely.
"Hey." She smiled softly. She squinted her eyes as she looked at Andrew. 'Why does he look so familiar?'
"Would you like to dance?" Andrew finally asked as Ebony smiled. Some potheads managed to hijack the music and were now playing soft ballads that upset half the party. The other half of the party was too blitzed to even realize the music had changed. Andrew considered it an open opportunity though to slow dance with Ebony.
"Sure." She shrugged as Andrew led her to the dance floor. Some other couples were dancing, but most of the people were just sitting around the edges just relaxing. Andrew put his hands on her hips and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Have I met you before?" Ebony asked as Andrew looked down at her.
"My Dad knows yours." Andrew told her as Ebony tried to think back.
"Are you in any of my classes?" She asked as Andrew smiled. This was it. He was going to let her know who he was exactly.
"Maybe." He grinned as Ebony gasped. She immediately pieced it all together and stared at Andrew in awe.
"You're the—"Before she could finish her sentence, Andrew beat her to it.
"The guy from the Masquerade ball? Yeah." He said as she stared at him still in shock. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." He told her seriously. Ebony smiled at him before leaning her head on his chest and holding him closer.
"I'm just glad that you didn't end up being some creeper." Ebony told him and Andrew smiled happily.
