The children and friends were all currently sitting in the living room of Todd and Jillian's house, waiting for a special announcement by the parents.
"What do you think it is?" Ginger asked leaning against Derek.
"I'm betting it's something about Spring Break." He told her moving his arm off of the back of the couch and around her shoulder.
"Sounds about right." She said. The parents all walked in and a silence fell over the room as they all looked at their parents expectantly.
"So, what's the big news?" Bolt asked.
"Well, most of you know it has something to do with Spring Break." Amy began and Ginger smiled.
"What are the plans?" AJ jumped up excitedly.
"Well…" James said rubbing the back of his head.
"Uh-oh." Derek murmured and Ginger looked at him confused. "That's not a good sign." He whispered.
"We're all splitting up and going to three different places." Shadow said as everybody jumped up.
"Why?" They all shouted and Shadow pushed Static in front of them.
"We couldn't agree on one place to go. Besides, you guys can handle a week away from each other." Static explained and they groaned.
"Why are you all so sad? We're going to great places!" Rouge exclaimed.
"Where and who are we going with?" Brice asked as Rouge rolled her eyes.
"Spark, Static, Shadow, and Todd's families are going to Aspen." Cream said as Bolt, Flash, and Serenity groaned.
"What?" Todd exclaimed as the three of them looked at their respective significant other. "Get over it! You can talk to them on your phones and laptops." He told them rolling his eyes. Tsunami and Julian were about to say something, but Static cut them off.
"Yes, Lazarus, Izzy, and Luca can go as long as their parents are okay with it." Static told them and they all smiled. "And the same goes for Lorgo, Alana, and Renegade." He said and Hailey smiled happily. Alana and Renegade looked at each other nervously before looking back at Static.
"Well, we kind of have plans already." Alana said as Julian, Conner, Lauren, and Izzy whipped their heads towards them.
"What?" They all exclaimed and Alana twiddled her fingers nervously.
"My brother is coming home from the deployment and I really want him to meet Renegade. We're going to be in New York." Alana explained and they all nodded in understanding.
"New York? You guys better get me some good stuff then!" Julian exclaimed and Izzy rolled her eyes.
"Anyways!" Midnight said getting all their attention again. "Elijah, Jerry, Tails, and Sonic's families are going to the Bahamas!" She said as Tyler and Liecy cheered.
"And Silver, James, Knuckles, and Reese's families are going to London!" Rebecca smiled as their mouths dropped.
"L-London? Like London, England?" Amber stuttered standing up slowly.
"Yup!" Silver said proudly and Lauren widened her eyes.
"Cover your ears!" She yelled as everybody did. Amber let out a high-pitched scream and everybody flinched at the sound.
"We're going to London!" Amber screamed before plopping back down on AJ's lap.
"Please, don't sound too disappointed." Arielle muttered while Blaze rolled her eyes.
"We're leaving tomorrow so you better pack your bags!" Todd exclaimed before everybody ran out of the living room. The next day everybody was at the airport bright and early at five in the morning.
"Why did you guys have to make the flight so early?" Roddy complained as Lilac slept on his shoulder.
"Multiple reasons. You'll understand when you start paying for these things." Jerry muttered with his eyes closed and his arms folded over his chest.
"Flight 214 to Aspen, Colorado is now boarding." A voice announced over the loud speaker.
"Well, it's time for us to go." Todd smiled picking up his carry-on bag and Alena's baby bag. All the couples who were not spending the break together grouped together to say their goodbyes.
"I'll miss you." Amber said hugging AJ around his neck.
"I'll miss you more." AJ told her and Amber giggled.
"Call me whenever you can." Serenity told Conner who smiled.
"Every minute." Conner promised kissing her hand.
"I don't want to go now." Ebony pouted as she held onto Andrew.
"Maybe I can stow away." He murmured making her laugh.
"Can we speed this up?" Spark muttered impatiently and Winter slapped him on the arm.
"Let them have their goodbyes." She scolded him and he sighed heavily.
"Promise to miss me?" Bolt grinned and Chrissy rolled her eyes.
"Of course." She said as Bolt hugged her. Hydro and Lauren were having their own silent conversation as they hugged each other.
"Bye." Flash said hugging Ivy.
"Bye." Ivy said hugging him back.
"Bye." Flash said again hugging her tighter.
"Bye." She said resting her head on his shoulder.
"Miss you." He said.
"Miss you more." She said looking at him.
"Oh my God! Let's go already! It's only five days!" Todd exclaimed impatiently and Jillian glared at him. All the couples kissed goodbye as the parents either turned away in disgust or smiled happily. The other flights were called and everybody soon got on their respective flights and took off to their destinations.
'How long do you have until you land?' Lauren asked Hydro telepathically. Hydro and Lauren have been working on her long distance mind reading and only have it to where she could only read his mind, but no one else's.
'I think thirty minutes. You?' Hydro asked and Lauren sighed.
'Nine and a half hours.' She mumbled as Hydro laughed a little. 'Don't laugh!' She thought and Hydro just shook his head.
'You can still talk to me as long as you want.' He told her.
'Don't you want to snowboard?' She asked and Hydro shrugged his shoulders.
'Sure, but I have all week to do that.' Hydro said making Lauren smile.
'Quit mind-talking with Hydro!' Reese scolded and Lauren rolled her eyes.
"Why?" She asked aloud towards her dad. Meanwhile, Shawn was sitting next to her asleep with his headphones on.
"You may be able to block my predictions about you, but you can't block my mind-reading." Reese frowned and Lauren leaned back in her seat with her arms crossed.
"I still don't see the big deal. Why don't you just talk to Mom?" She muttered and Reese rolled his eyes.
"Whatever." He said and Lauren smiled at her obvious victory.
'Sorry, my Dad was talking to me.' Lauren said to Hydro.
'No problem. We're actually going to land soon.' He told her and Lauren frowned.
'I wish I could have come with you.' She muttered.
'Don't worry I'll make sure to sneak away and call you as soon as possible.' He said making Lauren smile. 'We just landed and my Dad is making me go.' He sighed.
'Talk to you soon?' She murmured.
'Absolutely.' He told her before Lauren smiled and let him go. Shawn woke up abruptly next to her panting and she looked at him confused.
"What's wrong with you?" Lauren asked and Shawn shook his head.
"Um…nothing. Just a bad dream." He told her leaning back into his seat.
"Are you sure?" Lauren asked slowly, concerned about her brother.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He murmured before putting his headphones back on his head. 'I really hope that was just a dream and not a prediction.' He thought to himself while he stared out the window. He soon fell back to sleep, but was quickly met with the same nightmare.
Shawn lifted his head and saw that he was chained against the wall and that everyone in the group was chained to the wall with him. He looked at Ruby next to him to see her fighting tears while trying to fight her restraints while frantically staring in front of her. He turned to see Bolt doing the same next to him and slowly turned his head to see what they were looking at. He gasped when he saw a series of large tubes with their parents floating in them surrounded by a green liquid. Breathing masks were attached their faces and they were all suspended in the tubes unconscious.
"Wh—What? Mom? Dad?" He murmured before hearing a cackle echo from across the room. He looked up to see all their rivals standing on a platform high above and staring down at them with smirks.
"Enjoy your last moments." Cassandra grinned evilly before pressing a button. They all fell to the ground and looked up to see the liquid from the tubes drain. The breathing masks popped off their parents' faces and soon their eyes all opened simultaneously glowing red. Shawn stumbled onto his feet, but before he could get any leverage he saw Reese pounce at him viciously.
Shawn woke up abruptly again to see the plane was now dark and nearly everyone was sleeping. He rubbed his eyes and checked to see they had about two hours left before they landed. He leaned back in his seat and decided to stay awake for the next couple of hours, afraid of what else he might see. On the plane to the Bahamas, Tyler and Conner were sitting next to each other and Conner was showing Tyler some clips they had filmed earlier.
"Whoa! How did you get that, dude?" He asked as he watched himself in the video.
"Hey, I just film it. You're the one who performs the tricks." Conner said as Tyler rolled his eyes.
"Man, imagine the awesome footage you can get of the beaches and the sweet shots of me surfing." He grinned and Conner rolled his eyes.
"Self-centered much?" Conner smirked and Tyler elbowed him. On the other side of the plane, Andrew was twirling a drumstick in his hand while Roddy looked impatiently out the window.
"Are we there yet?" Roddy sighed and Andrew rolled his eyes.
"You really are impatient like your dad, huh?" Andrew muttered and Roddy glared at him. "Relax, we have like twenty minutes left." He told Roddy who suddenly got excited.
"Sun and surf here I come!" Roddy exclaimed.
"You know it's not that different from California." Andrew said and Roddy rolled his eyes.
"No, it's even better." He smirked before staring out the window as the islands started to come into view.
"Hey, I can see the island." Conner told Tyler who sat up.
"Dad, please!" Tyler begged turning in his seat to face Tails who was piloting the plane.
"God Tyler, do you want to give your mom a heart attack?" Tails asked motioning to where Cream was sitting and sleeping.
"Dad, you and Mom know I'll be safe! I mean c'mon, I can levitate!" Tyler whined and Tails sighed.
"Fine, but bring Conner with you." Tails told him and Tyler smiled while Conner looked confused.
"What?" Conner shouted before Tyler pulled him out of his seat and to the door of the plane. "Why do I have to come?" Conner asked while Tyler slipped on his sunglasses.
"To get awesome footage, of course." Tyler smirked before tossing a parachute to Conner.
"Fine." He muttered before strapping on the parachute and putting his own sunglasses on. "Let's go." Conner said as Tyler opened the plane door letting all the air blast inside. Everyone covered their faces and ears at the sudden rush. Tyler pulled out a skateboard without wheels from his backpack before jumping out of the plane with Conner following behind.
"You're insane!" Conner yelled as they plummeted towards the ground.
"Damn right!" Tyler shouted before planting his feet on the board. "Be sure to film this!" He yelled as Conner pulled out his GoPro camera. Tyler started to perform many spirals and flips as Conner filmed everything in different angles. Tyler started to head dive towards the ground as he spun around. He lifted his head as he spread his arms and legs. He steered himself towards Conner and kicked off up at him performing a series of flips.
"We're almost to the ground!" Conner yelled before pulling his ripcord, but still recording. Tyler went back into a head dive and focused on the ground under him. When he was about fifty feet away he flipped back up and used his power to come to a smooth and slow stop. Conner was floating down next to him with his camera in his hand watching what he just filmed. "Let's never do that again." He said as they continued to float down.
"Can't promise that." Tyler smirked as Conner rolled his eyes. They eased onto the ground and watched as their families' plane land. "C'mon Spielberg. We have Spring Break to celebrate!" Tyler said attaching wheels to the board.
"You actually carry those?" Conner asked as he made the earth underneath him rise.
"Yes." He said as he skated off. Conner followed him floating on his rock towards the plane. On the other side of the globe, the London group arrived to the airport excited to finally be off the plane.
"Let Spring Break Begin!" Brice said as he stepped out of the airport doors.
"When we check into the hotel!" Knuckles said as Brice sighed.
"Why do you ruin my fun?" Brice said as Knuckles rolled his eyes.
"I only speak the truth." Knuckles said as Ruby and Onyx rolled their eyes.
"C'mon Brice!" Derek called out as he held Ginger's hand. Since it was cold in England everybody was wearing coats and gloves or scarves.
"Yeah, yeah I'm coming." Brice said as he jogged next to the couple.
"At least it's not raining." Silver said as drops started to fall.
"You had to jinx it." Reese said putting his hood on. They all piled into four different cabs and drove off to the hotel. Back in the States, the Aspen group hit the slopes immediately and enjoyed the fresh snow that littered the ground.
"Ah, I missed the snow." Hailey said falling into a giant pile of one.
"You have ice powers. You can make snow whenever you want." Lorgo said looking down at her. She rolled her eyes as she threw some snow at him.
"It's not the same as nature's snow." She said sitting up.
"C'mon you guys! We're getting on the ski lift!" Suzy called out holding Shade's hand. Shade fell forward when a snowball was thrown at him. Bolt and Flash laughed before running towards the ski lift at full speed.
"This is going to be one weird Spring Break." Lorgo said as Hailey laughed. Back home it was surprisingly dark and cloudy. Joseph was walking down the streets of downtown with his hood up on his head. He started walking down an ally. He stopped in the middle and pushed a brick back. Some bricks started to separate and a metal door was revealed. He entered a four digit code and scanned his hand. The door opened and he walked into a dimly lit hallway. When he reached a double-metal door they separated and he walked in. There was a large crescent-shaped, metal table with black chairs all occupied.
"Nice of you to join us." Cassandra said at the middle of the table. He took his seat next to her and next to Jared who was next to Will. Damian was on her other side with Allie and Razor.
"Whatever. What's this meeting about?" He asked as Cassandra stood up.
"As you all know it's Spring Break and the little good-for-nothings went off into three separate locations going against our plans to follow them. They each went to London, Aspen, and The Bahamas." Cassandra said as a hologram of a world map showed up in front of them. It marked all three locations and zoomed into each of them showing all of the locations.
"You're going to split us up and make us go to each location." Razor said with complete bored look on his face.
"No. On the contrary we're all staying here." Cassandra said sitting on the table.
"What?" Jared said in confusion.
"Did I stutter? We're all going to stay here and do a little…project." She said twirling a metal ring around her finger with an evil smirk.
