"No! No! They can't take me back! They can't!" AJ shouted as Lazarus dragged him by his legs into the school. Everyone was pretty used to AJ's antics at the school, but he still had some people looking at him like he was crazy.
"Stop being such a baby! We're only here for a couple of more months!" Lazarus exclaimed pulling AJ. "Oh hey Amber." Lazarus smirked and AJ quickly got onto his feet and looked around.
"Where's Amber?" He asked and Lazarus just laughed while AJ glared at him. "You're a dick." AJ pouted and they both just walked into the school. Cheka, who had to be enrolled into the school to keep up appearances, stood by his locker retrieving the books from his it. He wasn't even phased when someone slammed their hand on the locker beside his and just sighed as he turned to look at Renegade.
"I told Gabe that I have it handled." Renegade growled lowly and Cheka rolled his eyes.
"Calmarse, I'm not here because of that. I'm undercover." He told Renegade and Renegade raised his eyebrow. "Things are getting serious with that little group of bullies you have." He said.
"What's going on?" Renegade asked.
"Don't worry about it. Let me do my job and maybe you should start doing yours." Cheka said and Renegade glared at him. Cheka didn't say anything else and walked away leaving Renegade standing alone beside his locker. Julian and Izzy were walking down the hall when Izzy's phone buzzed with a notification of a text message.
"Ah!" Izzy squealed happily as Julian looked at her confused. "Garrett is coming!" She told Julian who eyed her suspiciously.
"Who's Garrett?" He asked.
"Don't be jealous. He's my best friend from back home! He helped me through the whole pregnancy thing." Izzy told him and Julian crossed his arms.
"What does he look like?" He asked as they continued to make their way to class.
"Green hedgehog with gold eyes. About as tall as you, I would say. Same body type. He actually plays football too so you guys can talk about that." Izzy said happily and Julian frowned.
"Does he have better quills then me?" Julian asked and Izzy rolled her eyes.
"No babe." She said.
"Does he have better eyes?" Julian asked.
"No, yours are amazing." Izzy smiled up at him.
"Does he have better abs?" Julian asked lifting up his shirt and Izzy pulled it down shaking her head.
"Stop worrying! I'm in love with you! He's just a friend." Izzy told him and Julian smiled. "With better abs." She teased and Julian frowned.
"Hey!" He whined as Izzy laughed and kissed him. Chrissy was laughing as she tried to walk to her locker with Bolt holding onto her from behind.
"You're making this difficult." Chrissy said and Bolt kissed her cheek.
"Not my fault that I missed you so much." He told her and Chrissy snorted.
"It was a week, Mr. Dramatic." She said and Bolt just smiled down at her.
"Dramatic? Me? No…Passionate? Yes." He winked and Chrissy laughed shaking her head at his behavior. Chrissy eventually made it to her locker and Bolt leaned on the one besides her and looked at her. How did he get so lucky? Here, he has a beautiful, smart, funny girl he loves and—wait? Love? Bolt froze at the thought while the rest of his mind raced. Love? Did he love Chrissy? They've only been dating six months. Is six months enough to know you love someone? Is it too soon for him to be in love? Hell! They're only 16! What does he know about love?
"You okay?" Chrissy asked snapping Bolt out of his thoughts. He smiled looking down at her as she stared up at him with those pretty eyes of hers.
"Perfect." He lied and she didn't seem to buy it, but didn't say anything. Bolt needed some words of wisdom and fast! It was now lunchtime and Julian and Izzy were waiting on the front steps for Garrett to arrive. Apparently Garrett's Spring Break was a week after theirs so that's what made him visit—at least that's what Izzy told Julian. He still didn't like the sound of this guy.
"Well, looks like he's not here." Julian announced looking at his watch and standing up.
"It's been three minutes." Izzy muttered rolling her eyes while Julian pouted.
"Tizzy-Izzy!" Julian looked up to see a green hedgehog walking over to them. He did look to be about Julian's height, but less muscular than him. His quills were shorter than normal and were sticking out from underneath a black beanie and hanging around his face. His eyes were a bright gold and he was wearing a black t-shirt with a black, white, and blue flannel over it that had the sleeves rolled up. He had on jeans with red, high-top Vans on his feet and a black armband on his wrist.
"Garrett!" Izzy exclaimed running over to hug him. Julian held back a growl that was bubbling up inside of him as he stayed by the steps. "I've missed you so much! I want you to meet someone." Izzy said before pulling Garrett towards Julian. "Garrett this is my boyfriend, Julian. Julian, this is my best friend Garrett." She introduced the two while they just stared at each other.
"What's up?" Garrett asked crossing his arms over his chest. Garrett was a little wary of the idea of Julian when Izzy first told him about her new boyfriend. He sounded too similar to her asshole sperm-donor and so far, he wasn't impressed with what he saw.
"Izzy tells me you're into football. I'm on the team myself." Julian commented and Garrett smirked.
"I know, we crushed you guys this season." Garrett told him and Julian glared at him angrily. Station Square was one of the only losses they had this season and Julian didn't like this guy rubbing it in. "So, you must have a power. What is it?" He asked. Julian's eyes turned dark blue with his power and he pulled a tree near them out of the ground before sending it flying far away from the school.
"Do you have a power?" Julian asked with a smirk on his face as his eyes turned back to normal. Izzy sighed heavily before sitting back down on the steps, seeing how their pissing contest wasn't going to end soon.
"In matter of fact I do." Garrett grinned while his eyes turned a royal blue color. Water suddenly appeared out of the air around them before his eyes turned into a murky pale blue color. The water suddenly turned into a gust of wind. His eyes turned bright red and fire appeared out of his hands. Finally, his eyes turned a mossy green color and he made a tree grow out of the spot that the old tree stood.
"Elements." Julian muttered, hating to admit to himself that, that whole display was awesome. Garrett smirked as his eyes reverted to their gold color and Julian crossed his arms looking at him. Garrett did the same and raised an eyebrow.
"You know Izzy and I have been friends since second grade." Garrett told him.
"Do you know that we're in love?" Julian asked and Garrett narrowed his eyes suspiciously. Izzy sighed heavily and looked up at the both of them.
"How much longer is this going to take?" She asked but neither of them answered her. Julian took a step closer to Garrett, standing mere inches away from his face, but Garrett stood his ground not intimidated in the slightest.
"I just have this one thing to ask you," Julian said. "Do you know," He paused and Garrett raised an eyebrow. "The Muffin Man?" He asked and Izzy slapped her forehead.
"The Muffin Man?" Garrett asked slowly.
"The Muffin Man." Julian nodded and Garrett tilted his head to the side.
"The one that lives on Drury Lane?" He asked.
"The very one." Julian answered.
"You know damn well I know the Muffin Man." Garrett told him seriously. They stared at each other completely straight-faced before cracking up loudly. Izzy just stared at them like they were insane.
"I knew I'd like you." Julian grinned swinging his arm over Garrett's shoulders while Izzy just shook her head.
"How long are you staying?" Izzy asked.
"Oh just for today and tomorrow. I'm here checking out colleges." Garrett told her.
"I thought you wanted to go to NYU?" She asked.
"I do, but it doesn't hurt to look around." Garrett said shrugging his shoulders. Julian felt his heart drop into his stomach at the thought of college came into his mind. Julian had received a sports scholarship to attend USC and play football. They hadn't talked about college yet, but he knew Izzy was getting accepted into a lot of colleges. Before Izzy, he had been excited to go to college, but now…what was he going to do without her?
Elsewhere, Bolt was pacing the length of an empty classroom nervously waiting. The door opened and he was relieved to see Derek standing there and looking over at Bolt confused. Derek walked in and Bolt continued his pacing while Derek took a seat at an empty desk.
"Not that I don't mind, but why do you want to talk to me?" Derek asked. Derek had nothing against Bolt, they were family friends after all, but they were never particularly close with each other.
"You're getting married." Bolt said and Derek looked at him surprised.
"I am?" Derek asked feigning shock and Bolt sighed heavily.
"Yeah, yeah, stating the obvious. But obviously, you must really love Ginger to marry her, right?" He asked and Derek just stared at him.
"Yeah, I believe that's what marriage entails." Derek said. "At least for the most part." He muttered thinking about how many couples actually divorce now. Man, their parents must be some miracle group of people.
"Okay, okay, how did you know you loved Ginger?" Bolt asked surprising Derek with his question. Again, Bolt and Derek weren't exactly close so this was a random topic for them to suddenly talk about.
"Is something going on?" Derek asked.
"Just answer my question please." Bolt pleaded and Derek just sighed.
"It just happened." Derek shrugged. "There was nothing she said or some event to make me realize. I just looked at her one day and decided I love this girl. There are many reasons as to why I love her, but as for how I knew, it was easy for me." He explained and Bolt just stared him. "Does this have something to do with Chrissy?" He asked.
"I think I love her." Bolt admitted sheepishly.
"You think or you know?" Derek asked and Bolt shrugged. "Let me paint you a picture," He said leaning forward in the desk he was sitting in. "Imagine that right after this, you see Chrissy and she walks up and says she loves you. How would you feel?" He asked and warmth and happiness spread across Bolt at the idea of Chrissy loving him. He couldn't stop the smile appearing on his face as he imagined Chrissy loving him, an idiot who babbled his way into a relationship with her. "The look on your face is the answer all I need. So let me ask you again, do you love her?" Derek asked.
"I do." Bolt grinned.
"Now all you have to do is tell her." Derek said and Bolt's smile disappeared and his face paled. "You're all on your own for that one." He told him before walking out of the classroom. Bolt walked out of the classroom in a daze and now panicking trying to tell Chrissy he loves her in a meaningful way.
"Hey!" Bolt was startled when Chrissy walked up to him. "You okay?" She asked noticing the strange look on his face.
"Yup!" He smiled and Chrissy just shrugged.
"Your Mom texted me saying that she wants you home as soon as school is over. She said you weren't responding to her messages." She told him and Bolt pulled his phone out of his pocket to look at his phone to see several messages from Winter.
"Huh, wonder what's it about." Bolt muttered. After school, Bolt and Hailey came home to see Spark and Winter sitting at the kitchen table. Both looking very serious.
"Uh, hey Mom, Dad." Hailey spoke cautiously.
"What's up?" Bolt asked as he looked between his parents confused. Suddenly Luna and Reese busted into the room panting wildly.
"What's going on?" Reese panted out as he rested his hands on his knees.
"Oh c'mon! You don't live that far away." Spark said as Reese glared at him.
"Some of us don't have super speed." Reese retorted and Luna looked over at Winter after catching her breath.
"What's with the emergency texts?" Luna asked.
"Well…" Winter said slowly, but Bolt soon sped out of the room and returned with Chrissy in his arms. Spark rolled his eyes while Winter just shook her head at her son's actions.
"Okay, now what's going on?" Bolt asked anxiously.
"I'm pregnant!" Winter announced.
"What?" Reese and Luna gasped.
"What?" Bolt and Hailey exclaimed.
"What?" Spark exclaimed and Winter glared at him.
"You already knew!" Winter shouted and Spark pouted.
"Still surprising." He muttered making Winter roll her eyes.
"Uh…maybe I should go…" Chrissy said awkwardly trying to get out of Bolt's arms, but he just held her tighter.
"How—Wha—Whe—Just—Wha—"Bolt continued to struggle to make up a coherent sentence while Hailey smiled brightly.
"I'm going to have a baby brother or sister!" Hailey exclaimed before hugging her Mom happily.
"Congratulations!" Luna smiled hugging Winter after Hailey.
"Bolt," Winter asked softly. "Are you okay with this?" She asked nervously.
"I get to be a brother! Again!" Bolt exclaimed happily before hugging his Mom tightly.
"How come the rest of your family is all about family and you're not?" Reese asked as Spark glared at him.
"Shut up! I love my family!" Spark yelled and Reese rolled his eyes.
"C'mon you were the last one of us to have kids! Even your younger brother had kids before you!" Reese argued and Spark scowled.
"Sixteen Goddamn years! Give it a rest already!" Spark retorted as Reese laughed.
