Julian rushed into the school and quickly made his way over to his locker. He looked around himself as he tried to enter his combination, but kept missing it. He finally got it and yanked the lock off his locker before trying to get the book he needed.
"Hey Julian." Renegade greeted.
"Ah!" Julian screamed startled by Renegade's appearance and Renegade stared at him confused.
"Are you all right?" Renegade asked slowly. Julian grabbed Renegade's shirt and pulled him close to his face.
"Don't you know what day it is?" He asked quietly.
"Uh…Wednesday?" Renegade muttered.
"No! It's April First! A.K.A. April Fool's! A.K.A. my Dad's birthday!" Julian screamed shaking Renegade by his shirt and Renegade finally shoved him off and looked over at Julian confused. "Don't you understand? He's going to come after me! Now that he's working here he can ruin my reputation with one prank!" He exclaimed almost on the verge of tears while Renegade just stared at him.
"I think you're overreacting." Renegade muttered and Julian slammed his locker shut.
"The scary thing is…I'm not." Julian told him ominously when Suzy ran up to them.
"Julian!" Suzy yelled running into her brother's arms.
"What's wrong, Suzy?" Julian asked looking down at his sister with his hands on her arms.
"AJ…" Suzy gasped shaking in Julian's hands.
"What? What's wrong with AJ?" Julian asked worried about his younger brother.
"A-AJ," She stuttered out. "He's on Dad's side." Suzy told him and Julian dropped his head.
"No!" Julian shouted to the sky as he fell on his knees.
"This is all very horror-movie dramatic. I think you guys are really overreacting over some stupid holiday." Renegade muttered before he walked away leaving the two siblings. Elsewhere, Lazarus and Derek were walking around the empty halls seeing how they both have an empty period without a whole lot to do.
"I'm one of your groomsmen, right?" Lazarus grinned as he nudged Derek with his elbow.
"Sure, sure." Derek murmured as Lazarus cheered. "It's not even that big a deal." He muttered rolling his eyes.
"The wedding is not a big deal?" Lazarus smirked.
"You know I'm not talking about that. Being a groomsmen isn't a big deal." Derek shrugged.
"It's my biggest dream." Lazarus told him seriously and Derek pushed him with a small smile. Suddenly it got quiet, too quiet. Lazarus and Derek slowed to a stop in the middle of the hallway and looked around. Lazarus' eyes widened when he looked at his phone and saw the date. "Oh God. I forgot. Shit! He's going to be after us." Lazarus exclaimed and Derek's eyes widened. They both took off running down the hall and AJ slipped out from behind some lockers.
"You can run, but you can't hide." AJ smirked watching his friends run away. The bell rang and the halls were now filled with students. Onyx was walking with Amber talking about the way Onyx should ask Topaz to Prom when Lazarus and Derek ran into them.
"Hey! What's the rush?" Amber asked and Lazarus grabbed her before dragging her with him. Derek grabbed Onyx, but he was quick to get on his board and skate beside them.
"Run for your lives!" Lazarus yelled.
"What the hell is going on?" Amber asked trying to keep up with Lazarus. The four of them skidded to a stop at a dead-end hallway and Lazarus grabbed Amber's shoulders and looked at her.
"You do know what day it is today, right?" Lazarus asked and Amber's eyes widened while Onyx cursed. They all turned to get away from the dead-end they hit when they were blasted with blue slime and confetti. Amber screamed as the slime stuck to her hair and clothes while Lazarus wiped the goop off his eyes.
"The confetti celebrates my first prank of the day." AJ smiled holding a bazooka on his shoulder and they all glared at him. "Well off to give the world the gift of pranks." He said before running away.
"Don't expect to get lucky with me for awhile!" Amber yelled and the three guys just stared at her. "Don't give me those looks!" She huffed before crossing her arms.
"I'm going to get that son of a bitch." Lazarus growled pushing his slimy hair away from his face. Shade saw Izzy walking in the hallway between her classes and went to talk to her about how their significant others were petrified of the day.
"You've should have seen Julian when I saw him this morning. He looked like he was running away from a murderer." Izzy told him and Shade shook his head.
"Suzy was pretty wound up too. She's keeping herself attached to Julian for the rest of the day." He explained and a kid suddenly shoved himself in between them and ran passed them.
"Jeez, what's wrong with him?" Izzy asked when they heard the sound of someone whistling the tune of a Western Stand Off. Shade and Izzy turned around to see Todd standing there at the end of a now empty hallway.
"Shit." They both cursed while Todd smiled at them brightly.
"Why hello there, my future in-laws." Todd grinned walking towards them while Izzy and Shade slowly started to step away from him.
"If we act quickly maybe we can escape." Shade whispered quietly towards Izzy who nodded.
"Have you seen my children around?" Todd asked tilting his head to the side innocently.
"Just this morning." Izzy told him trying to keep her voice even. She's only been dating Julian for two months, he wouldn't really prank her, would he?
"Well, I expected you guys to keep a better eye on them. Oh well." Todd sighed before pulling out a loaded water gun. Shade was willing to bet that water wasn't in there.
"Run!" Shade shouted grabbing Izzy's hand in his hand. He threw Izzy onto his back and took off down the hallway. Izzy held onto him tightly as they whizzed through the hallways, not really concerned that she was currently missing her class. They had to get away from that psycho! Shade skidded to a stop suddenly and saw a blue glow around his legs. He turned his head to see Todd staring at him with his gun aimed towards them. Izzy's eyes turned a murky blue and she sent Todd flying down the hall with a large gust of wind.
"Go! Go! Go!" Izzy yelled and Shade took off down the hall. However he tripped on something and they both went skidding across the floor. They hit a row of lockers and screamed as a tub of glue and glitter fell on them.
"Ah! My eyes!" Shade shouted as he tried to blink the glitter out of his eyes.
"You guys really got to be smarter than that." Todd smirked as he walked passed them. The halls soon filled with students again as they tried to get to their third period unscathed. Flash was walking with Ivy when he spotted Izzy and Shade on the ground covered in glitter and stuck to some lockers.
"Oh my God!" Flash exclaimed as he kneeled beside Shade. "What happened?" He asked and Shade lolled his head to face Flash.
"T-T-T—"
"What Shade? What is it?" Flash asked.
"Todd." Shade murmured.
"The guy starts working here and he thinks he has free range?" Flash growled standing back up on his feet. Suddenly Ivy was blasted in the head with purple powder exploding around her and she collapsed onto the ground unconscious.
"Ivy!" Flash shouted.
"She's just asleep. And to answer your question, this is my turf. I just decided to let him help." AJ said and Flash turned around to face him.
"Shit!" Flash shouted before taking off down the hall. Once he got to the second floor, he rammed into someone and they sprawled along the floor.
"Jesus Christ Flash, why don't you watch where you're going?" Shawn grumbled as rubbed his head.
"We got to go, Shawn! AJ isn't too far behind!" Flash shouted scrambling onto his feet.
"Why? What's the big deal?" Shawn asked standing up.
"Oh goodie! You found another one!" AJ grinned happily holding a bazooka and Flash grabbed a hold of Shawn's arm before taking off down the hallway again.
"Cafeteria! He's headed to the football field." Shawn told Flash and Flash turned in that direction. Flash came to a stop in the empty cafeteria and sighed in relief when he saw that they were alone. "What the hell is going on?" Shawn asked.
"It's April Fools!" Flash yelled and Shawn sighed.
"I just want one day of normalcy." He murmured.
"That won't be happening today." AJ announced as he kicked the door open. Flash squeaked and ran out of the cafeteria leaving Shawn there.
"Thanks a lot!" Shawn shouted and whipped back around to see AJ aiming his bazooka at him. Shawn covered his face, bracing for impact, but opened his eyes when he didn't feel anything. He saw that he was sinking into the ground and AJ's slime missile sailed over his head. Shawn was pulled through the ground and when he came back out he saw that he was in the middle of the football field with Bolt standing next to him.
"You're welcome." Bolt grinned and Shawn felt queasy.
"I hate it when you do that." Shawn grumbled and Bolt rolled his eyes. Serenity and Ginger were hiding underneath the bleachers, not bothering to attend class since they had two lunatics after them.
"Hello ladies," Todd grinned as he hung upside from the bleachers. Ginger screamed and Serenity glared at Todd who just smirked back.
"Isn't it bad enough that you prank Julian and Suzy, but now you're coming after us?" Serenity asked and Todd chuckled as he flipped off the bleacher and landed on the ground in front of them.
"I'll leave you alone if you just tell me where my children are." Todd answered and Serenity clenched her fists and glared at him.
"Never." She told him defiantly and Todd raised an eyebrow.
"You're refusing my generous offer?" He asked.
"My Dad isn't going to let you get away with this." Ginger said and Todd snorted.
"I took care of them before I even got here." Todd smirked. At the Romaro house Shadow and Reese were currently stuck to the high ceiling of their entryway along with the rest of the guys.
"This is bullshit." Sonic muttered before Reese fell off the ceiling and hit the ground. He raised up his fist in the air as he stuck to the ground.
"Revenge!" Reese shouted against the ground. Serenity glared at Todd who just sighed and shook his head.
"You brought this on yourself." Todd said as he held up two grenades.
"You'll have to catch us first!" Serenity yelled before grabbing Ginger's hand and disappearing in a purple flash.
"Damn Chaos Powers." Todd cursed. Renegade was walking towards his fourth period class when he hit the ground with two people on top of him.
"Um, ow." Renegade muttered as he looked at Ginger and Serenity. "Aren't you supposed to be good at the whole Chaos Control thing?" He asked.
"I was in a panic, okay? Todd is after us all and I've heard AJ has joined his side." Serenity told him as they all got back onto their feet.
"You've heard right!" Serenity heard AJ shout before turning to see a slime missile heading towards her.
"No!" Conner yelled suddenly jumping in front of Serenity and taking the green slime to his chest. He hit the ground with his entire face and torso covered in slime.
"Conner no!" Serenity shouted dropping to his side. Serenity's back hit the floor when AJ blasted a green slime missile at her face.
"This is all way too dramatic." Renegade mumbled.
"Let's just get out of here!" Ginger shouted as they took off down the hall. Renegade grabbed Ginger and made a sharp turn, avoiding one of AJ's balloons. Renegade looked up and jumped up, pulling open the air vent above them. He climbed in and helped Ginger up before they both started to crawl. Renegade stopped and crawled back just in time to see AJ enter their hallway. He grabbed the broken opening and threw at AJ's face making him hit the ground.
"That wasn't necessary!" Ginger said and Renegade rolled his eyes. They both started crawling away when they heard pelting of the vent behind them. They looked to see AJ hitting stones against the vent and that made them crawl faster. Ginger crawled over another opening, but Renegade grabbed her ankle making her stop. He kicked it open hitting AJ in the face again and jumped out.
"Why are we being so violent towards each other?" Ginger mumbled but Renegade grabbed her arm and started running. Renegade and Ginger ran outside of the school and turned the corner to head towards the second gymnasium, but were suddenly blasted back into the bushes.
"My hair!" Ginger exclaimed when she saw that she and Renegade stuck to the bushes by purple slime.
"Tell me where Julian and Suzy are." Todd demanded standing over them.
"You're insane!" Renegade shouted.
"Oh now you're starting to realize that!" Todd grinned and Renegade glared at him.
"We'll never tell you." Ginger told him and Todd sighed heavily.
"You're just making this harder on yourselves." Todd said tossing and catching a grenade in his hand. Suddenly Todd was blasted back by a pulse of water making him sputter and wipe the water off his face. Ginger just smirked at him while Todd glared back at her. "Forget it! I'm wasting my time!" He exclaimed before shaking the water off of himself and running away.
"Looks like you two can use some help." A voice spoke as Ginger and Renegade looked up. Julian looked around before he moved himself and Suzy upwards towards the roof. They both landed softly on the roof and looked around once more before sighing in relief.
"You guys made it." Lazarus said startling both Julian and Suzy. "And really skittish apparently." He muttered.
"Can you blame us?" Suzy asked motioning to Lazarus' stained clothes.
"Fair point. Anyways, we have a plan to get back at your Dad and AJ." Lazarus said and Julian raised an eyebrow.
"We?" He asked and Lazarus smirked. Elsewhere, AJ and Todd were roaming around the school grounds looking for their next victims and missing lunch.
"Dad, we're missing lunch." AJ whined and Todd shushed his son.
"We eat when your siblings are pranked." Todd told him and AJ pouted. AJ didn't care if they got Julian and Suzy, he already got all the people he wanted to get. It was now just about helping his Dad.
"Hi Dad." Suzy smiled startling both AJ and Todd. They whipped around and fired at Suzy but she disappeared into the ground. Todd punched the ground growling while AJ just sighed.
"I hate that power." Todd muttered.
"Oh really?" Bolt smirked as he popped his head through the ground scaring the shit out of Todd and AJ. "You're really going to hate this then." He told them before slipping back into the ground. AJ suddenly felt himself being pulled backwards by the collar of his shirt and his face met with a pie. Todd met a similar fate when he turned around to see what happened. They were both thrown backwards and fell into a small pool of something the felt sticky.
"What the hell?" AJ exclaimed as he tried to wipe his face, but it just got more covered by what smelt like honey.
"Amateurs!" Todd shouted as he got back onto his feet, but suddenly he was pushed back and felt him sliding down a hill. The whipped cream flew off his face and at the end of the slip-n-slide he was on was a kiddie pool full of yellow slime. "Ah shit." He muttered before hitting the slime at full force. He tumbled around the ground with the slime covering him and the pool flying away from the brunt of the impact. He landed on the ground sticky, drenched, and dirty with various substances covering him. He groaned lifting his head before dropping it in defeat.
"Dad?" AJ asked as he tried to feel out for his Dad still blind from honey and whipped cream. Suddenly he was flying threw the air and when he thought he was going to hit the ground he landed in a vat filled white feathers. AJ spat them out of his mouth and finally managed to get the goop away from his eyes and saw his Todd next to him covered in dirt, honey, yellow slime, and glitter. When had glitter gotten him? AJ looked down at himself to see him covered in honey and feathers looking more like a chicken instead of a hedgehog.
"April Fools!" Everybody who they had pranked popped out of hiding and fired confetti canons covering them in confetti.
"How's that for payback?" Lazarus grinned.
"Well played." Todd smirked as he got back onto his feet.
"Told we'd get you back." Reese said while AJ got out of the vat of feathers.
"You guys are good." AJ laughed and Amber leaned close to him kissing a clean part of his cheek.
"We're free!" Julian exclaimed as he hugged Suzy tightly. Suddenly they were hit with blue and purple slime and they both stared at shock at Shade and Izzy.
"Hey, we couldn't let you two be the only clean ones." Izzy shrugged and Todd cracked up laughing.
"I like these two!" Todd smiled.
