Forecast... Rain

Saturday

So it was still raining... go figure, but we also hadn't seen anyone on the Midnight Channel so far, so we were good. I wasn't too worried about the nightmare that I had the night before, I mean come on, I was probably just worried because of the fact that it was getting close to the fog... it was supposed to be the next day. So I wasn't really scared. Yet, there was something pressing that needed my attention at the moment.

"I am not cooking a pie!" I stomped my foot down. Em glared at me with anger pouring out from her eyes. This was such a stupid thing argue about.

"It's a chicken pot pie!" Em to a step towards me, she had been begging for any kind of pie.

"No, I don't even have the stuff to make a pot pie!" Em was about to respond when we both heard someone behind us.

"What are you guys doing?" We knew that voice, and it shut us both up. I spun on one foot, to see a very confused Chie Sotanaka. This is when things got a little awkward...

"We were arguing over what he was gonna make for dinner." Em looked away from me like I should be shunned. I growled for a second. "What are you Teddie?"

"No, but you're starting to be annoying like him!" I looked away from her. There were two real reasons I wasn't. To be honest... this was going to happen sooner or later. So, knowing that this was going to happen. "Look, coin flip it?"

"Coin flip it." Chie just stared at us, yeah, we were being idiots; so I couldn't blame her. Still I found the last quarter I had, you know, something to remember where I came from. Okay, you got me, I just forgot to exchange it for yen! Though that worked out in my advantage. I placed the coin on my thumb and flipped it into the air. "Heads!"

I snatched the coin out of the air and slapped it onto the back of my hand. When I moved my hand away from the coin, a great big smile came to my face. "Read it and weep!"

"WHAT!?" Em snatched the quarter off my hand and looked at the face up side… she sighed heavily and handed me the coin. "Fine, but I want my pie soon!"

"Okay, okay." I smiled and turned back to Chie. "Sorry about that… so what's up?"

"Y-you can cook?" Chie's jaw was slightly ajar. I was completely confused as to why she seemed amazed by this. "Y-you know, I can cook too, sorta…"

"I think I remember you saying something like this during Golden Week…" A smiled at her as the blush on her cheeks came into view. I looked back to Em, with a questioning look. So she just shrugged at me. Turning back to Chie, I took a deep breath. "Hey Chie, d-do you have anything going on tonight?"

Chie quickly snapped out of her embarrassment. "No, why?"

"Well… um, would you like to come over to my house?" Em shook her head and pushed me out of the way. "Hey! Watch it!"

"What my dork of a brother is trying to ask, is if you wanted to come over for dinner with us tonight." Chie's cheeks quickly became red again, to be honest though, so were mine. I had been thinking of asking her this for a few days, but with all the rain that we had been getting, I didn't think that it was worth it to ask her. I know that it was raining again today, and that it would be foggy at night, but this way all of us could still keep an eye on the Midnight Channel. So Em suddenly asking her that really made it seem awkward for me and Chie… "He's cooking the meal, like always and he wanted to invite you over… and since he can't seem to get the damn question out, I did it for him."

Em grinned evilly as me and Chie just stood there with red cheeks. The silence quickly crept its way in. After about three minutes, I quickly shook my head. "E-Em and Will would be there, so it'd really just be the four of us."

"Su-sure, I'd l-like to…" Chie looked away from me. I knew it was only to hide her embarrassment, which of course just made me blush even more. Still, she agreed to it; which was a good thing… I guess. It all depended on the behavior of Will and Em.

"Um well, so…" I swallowed an air bubble that just found its way into my throat. I was so damned close to getting in a real fight with Em. Still I just smiled through my bright red face. "Are we gonna get going soon. I mean, we still gotta get the food."

"Huh, I thought you already bought everything already." Em put her hand on her hip and pointed in my face. "You forgot didn't you!?"

"Not my fault! Someone put a rain storm in my way!"

Time Change: After School to Afternoon

Location Change: Yasogami High to Junes

"So how about this?" I had to stop myself from facepalming as Chie brought me a thing of mint flavoring. The only thing that stopped me from doing so, was that huge smile on Chie's face. "I mean this flavoring is good right?"

"F-for desserts Chie, it would not taste good in what I'm making…" I smiled back at her, her face went straight to looking at the floor, I knew she was only trying to help, but I did take the flavoring from her. "Oh, this is the good stuff though, oh, I am so gonna use this on ice cream!"

Man you should have seen her face when I said that. Her smile came right back to her face. "Bro! I got everything, let's go!" And Em had to go and ruin the moment… yep, saw that coming…

"Well… this will be fun…" I sighed heavily as we stepped outside to be greeted by the sight of a downpour. "Anyone up for getting soaked!"

"You're joking right?" Em practically growled at me. "I am not going out in this kind of weather!"

"Great now how are we gonna get back!" I sat down with the grocery bags next to me. I honestly wanted to run, even though home was half way across the city. It was gonna be a long day… WAIT! "WAIT! Don't we have umbrella's?"

"Oh duh!"

"Nice Em, nice."

"Shut up!"

Time Change: Afternoon to Evening

Location Change: Junes to Home

"We still got soaked!" Em slammed the door behind her causing Will to fall off the coach! I tried not to laugh at the display currently in front of me. Anyway! as the three of us made it about halfway home, the wind picked up! Completely soaking us! "God!, I'm going to dry off and change! Chie, I have extra clothes that might fit you!"

"It's amazing that she made that sound bad." Will crawled back onto the couch. "She seems to be a master of that."

"Yeah, pretty much." I smiled at my friend and turned quickly on one foot to look at Chie. "So, I'm gonna get changed too, cause this is freezing!"

"O-Okay." Chie's face was bright red, which made mine bright red too, considering the circumstances; this was an acceptable time to blush!

I quickly escaped to my room. Closing the door behind me, I got changed really quickly. Just as I was about to open my door when I saw the bright flash, and a few seconds later, a loud bang! Which resulted in a kinda half scream resonating from Em's room, which meant that Chie was now changing, and the thunder just scared the shit outta her. I opened my door to see Chie with a hoodie and jeans on, which both were just a little tight. Though she quickly jumped for me, she was shivering like no other. She I banished any thoughts before they came into my head. "Not again! I hate lightning!"

"It's okay Chie, I'm here." I rubbed her head gently and smiled as she slowly stopped shivering. Though, I could tell she was still scared. We just started to rock back and forth for a moment, that is until someone cleared their throat. We both jumped and looked down the hall to see Em. She was tapping her foot with an evil smile on her face. "Food, right, got it…"

Em just shook her head and walked back to the living room. I sighed and started walking to the kitchen. I made it a foot when Chie grabbed my hand. I turned around to see her looking to the ground with a bright red face. "C-Can I stay the night here, I don't wanna leave if there is still lightning…"

"S-Sure." My face was now bright red, now dinner was the last thing on my mind… this was gonna be an interesting night now.

FINALLY! I finally got this chapter done! I am so f**king sorry about the long ass wait! That took way too damn long! But I am finally in college! So, I am gonna try and update as much as possible, but no promises on how long it will take. I still plan on doing it as much as possible, it will not take as long as this one did, I am sorry again about the wait. So, I hope you enjoyed and please leave your feedback.
