"My sweet virgin eyes!" Todd screamed as he fell to his knees in the hallway outside of Suzy's room. Jillian looked down at her husband confused and Julian and AJ walked out of their rooms to see what all the ruckus was about.
"You're not a virgin." Jillian said while Todd rolled his eyes.
"Dad! We were just making out!" Suzy exclaimed looking at Todd and AJ grimaced. "You made him jump out my window!" She shouted before stomping her foot and then running down the stairs. Jillian knew she was probably going to run off to find Shade.
"Well, you know how I love these family moments, but I'm going to the go-cart track with Renegade and Conner." Julian said before grabbing his keys and heading downstairs.
"Yeah, I'm going to hang out with Amber." AJ muttered before he followed Julian out the door. Todd sat on the ground still with his back against the wall and looked around.
"It's silent. All the kids are gone." Todd smiled. Alex and Juliana were at a sleep-away camp for the week while Alena was at her grandparent's house for the weekend. "Let's invite everybody over!" He exclaimed before racing to grab his phone.
"Hello?" Reese answered.
"Reese-baby! We got the house to ourselves! Invite everybody over!" Todd shouted before hanging up to call some of the others. Soon enough all the parents arrived at Todd's house.
"Woo! No children!" Static cheered as he slid into the house with Midnight on his back.
"Well, we have one child." Arielle muttered looking at Winter's baby bump.
"He doesn't count." Reese said waving his mind dismissively while Spark glared at him.
"Now, what is there to do?" Todd asked tapping his chin while Reese and Sonic smirked.
"Prank War!" They both yelled and Todd smiled brightly.
"Woo-Hoo!" Todd cheered while everybody looked around excitedly. It's been awhile since they had one against each other. They've always been against the children. "Who are captains?" Todd asked and Knuckles scoffed.
"The usual. Shadow, Todd, Midnight, and Reese." Knuckles said as the four of them lined up. Once they had their teams picked, they set up the ground rules before racing off to the park where the war was taking place. The teams were as such: Shadow had Amy, Static, Arielle, Elijah, and Rebecca on his team. Todd had Jillian, Spark, Silver, Winter, and Blaze on his team. While Midnight's Team had Alchemy, Rouge, Knuckles, Sonic, and Jerry. Reese's Team had Tails, Luna, Cream, James, and Nikki on it.
Static and Elijah were sticking to the bushes and sneaking around while they had loaded paintball guns strapped to their backs. They both climbed up a tree to get a better lookout for potential targets. Static smirked when he saw a blur of blue and gold whiz by. He raced after Spark and tackled him to the ground before aiming his gun right at his face.
"Say hello to your maker." Static grinned and Spark smirked.
"Why don't you?" He said confusing Static. Static was then shot in the back of his head with a blast of cottage cheese while Spark laughed.
"Ew!" Static grimaced shaking his hand to get the substance off of him. He turned around to see Midnight holding what looked to be a grenade launcher but he knew better.
"Enjoy the cheese." Midnight said before blowing a kiss towards him. Spark laughed and got back on his feet only to be blasted down by Midnight with a snot rocket.
"Oh my God! Where did you get all this snot from?" Spark shouted as he tried to wipe it off of himself.
"Flash was pretty sick last week." Midnight shrugged before skipping away.
"I just got owned by my wife!" Static sighed before hanging his head in shame.
"Shut up, I'm cover in your son's snot." Spark grimaced as he sat next to his brother. Todd and Silver were scurrying around the park while Todd leaned up against trees and walls humming the "Mission Impossible" theme song.
"We're trying to be inconspicuous! Stop humming." Silver whispered and Todd zipped his lip. What they didn't know was Cream and Nikki were watching them from a bush with smirks on their faces. Todd and Silver were walking down a path when Silver fell to his knees sobbing uncontrollably.
"Todd, what if I'm not a good father for Tyson? I've only raised girls! Not boys!" He sobbed and Todd narrowed his eyes before he whipped his head around.
"I know you're here, Nikki! Show yourself!" He shouted with his gun locked and loaded in his arms.
"Okay!" Nikki exclaimed and Todd whipped around, but was met with a balloon filled with honey to the face.
"Oh Todd! I should've been covering you! God, I'm such a horrible friend!" Silver sobbed loudly while Todd wiped the honey away from his eyes. Cream flew over Todd and simply dropped a balloon on Silver's head. "Not caramel!" He cried while Nikki laughed and made him stop crying so much. "I hate you." Silver growled flipping his caramel-soaked quills back. Winter and Blaze were casually walking around with their own guns strapped to their backs. Shadow and Elijah—who were hiding in a tall tree—smirked when they spotted them.
"Spark is surprisingly acting well about the whole pregnancy. With Hailey and Bolt he would have a heart attack every time somebody brought it up or I tried to do something on my own." Winter told Blaze while she laughed.
"Yeah, those were some good times." Blaze said while Winter rolled her eyes. Suddenly Blaze was pelted with paintballs and looked down to see herself covered with blood. "Are you guys fucking serious?" She shouted when Elijah and Shadow dropped onto the ground in front of them.
"It's fake blood, relax." Elijah told her. Shadow lightly tossed a water balloon at Winter and it popped against her legs. Winter looked up at Shadow with an are-you-really-serious type of look and Shadow shrugged.
"Sorry, Spark said he'd beat the crap out of us if we did something really bad to you and the baby." He told her before grabbing Elijah and disappearing in a green flash. Knuckles and Jerry were skulking around looking for an opponent when they saw that Sonic had Rebecca pressed up against a tree and making out. They both grimaced and Knuckles hit them both with corn syrup.
"Dude! Same team!" Sonic exclaimed.
"We're kind of in the middle of a war! What are you doing fraternizing with the enemy?" Jerry asked and Sonic didn't look at all guilty while he smirked at Rebecca. Jerry and Knuckles rolled their eyes before walking away from the couple. Elsewhere, Luna and Reese were hiding together behind some bushes when they saw Rouge and Alchemy.
"Surprise!" Luna yelled as she and Reese blasted Alchemy and Rouge with mayonnaise. Rouge spit it out of her mouth while Alchemy wiped it off of her eyes.
"That's just nasty." Rouge scowled but Luna and Reese just ran away laughing. Spark—who ran home and got some new clothes—was sitting in a tree waiting for his next target with a sniper scope. Winter had passed by him earlier, but he wasn't about to hit his pregnant wife. Spark smirked when he saw Shadow and brought his gun up before aiming a shot at Shadow. Shadow's ear twitched at the sound of rustling leaves and looked up to see Spark with his gun aimed at him. Shadow managed to Chaos Control away before getting hit and appeared behind Spark. He kicked Spark out of the tree and he landed on his back on the grass. Shadow stepped on his chest and pointed his gun at Spark's face.
"What country you from?" Shadow asked.
"What?" Spark asked confused.
"'What' ain't no country I've ever heard of. They speak English in what?" Shadow asked as Spark rolled his eyes.
"Pulp Fiction, are you serious?" Spark asked and Shadow frowned before blasting him in the chest with perfume. Spark started to choke on the smell before rolling onto his hands and knees. "Jesus Christ! My nose!" He choked out.
"That's for ruining my quote." Shadow told him before speeding away. He, however, was blasted off his feet by several paintballs filled with rotten milk.
"Gotcha!" Todd smirked.
"Oh God! It stinks!" Shadow coughed out.
"You just got owned!" Todd yelled before getting shot with a bomb filled with garbage.
"I believe it is you who just got owned!" James grinned.
"You're supposed to be nice!" Todd shouted and James just chuckled.
"Not in this game." He told him before running off. Amy was on the other side of the park, walking around casually when Sonic spotted her from his perch behind some bushes. He stood up and began to step towards Amy, but she just turned around and smiled at him.
"Not a smart move." She told him before pointing upwards. Sonic looked up to see Jillian on a branch above him before he was hit with a giant balloon.
"Aw man! I look like you!" Sonic exclaimed looking down at himself covered in neon pink paint. Amy laughed, but Sonic just grabbed his gun and fired shots of oatmeal at her. She glared at him and he just smirked. "Payback's a bitch." He said before running away. The Prank War raged on for most of the afternoon, but by the end of it Todd's Team came out as victors. After cleaning up they all showed up to the Romaro House to see all their children there with the exception of the younger kids.
"What are you guys doing here?" Todd asked as they all pushed Julian forward.
"Renegade doesn't think we actually know your high school years, but we want to prove him wrong." Julian explained and they all – with the exception of Reese – looked at him confused. "We're going to basically make a play of your senior year and you decide if it's good!" Julian exclaimed.
"Whatever, as long as I get some popcorn." Todd muttered waving his hand dismissively. The parents all sat in the kitchen while the kids got ready for their little mock play and Shadow noticed that Amy wasn't in the room. He walked out of the kitchen, careful to avoid the living room since all the kids would yell at him, and climbed upstairs. He found her standing in Alena's nursery and staring out a window. His heart clenched inside his chest as he moved towards her and wrapped his arms around her.
"It's almost been nineteen years, Shadow." Amy murmured sadly.
"I know." Shadow whispered.
"Her birthday is tomorrow." Amy said as tears fell from her eyes.
"I know." He whispered again pulling her closer to him.
"Do you think she's still out there?" She asked quietly.
"I hope she is." He told her swallowing the lump in his throat. Amy turned around and buried her face into his chest.
"She must hate us." Amy cried softly.
"She doesn't know us." Shadow told her even though it killed him to say that.
"She must think we abandoned her." She sniffled.
"We're still trying, Amy. You know that." He told her and Amy closed her eyes and took a calming breath. "We haven't given up." He spoke softly. Shadow pressed a soft kiss on her head while they held each other. They both soon collected themselves and headed downstairs to see the kids were all set up with a makeshift stage. Reese patted Shadow on the pack while Luna squeezed Amy's hand, both giving them reassuring smiles. Flash cleared his throat loudly as he stood in front of the bed sheets that were acting as curtains.
"Welcome to California Mobius High School." Flash announced while some of the parents smiled. "Not for the Gifted. Just the normal one. No special power school here." He added while Static rolled his eyes and Midnight laughed. Flash stepped off stage and the curtains—bed sheets—pulled back to reveal Roddy dressed up in all blue and running in place while the background moved behind him.
"You're filming this right?" James asked Jerry quietly and Jerry smirked while holding one of his son's many cameras.
"Oh yeah." He grinned while James chuckled. Roddy soon stopped when Tyler stepped on stage with Brice, Shade, Ruby, Serenity, and Chrissy who were wearing the colors of their parents' fur, like Roddy, or their old outfits.
"How did she find that dress?" Amy murmured and Cream wondered the same thing when they saw their daughters wearing the red dress and the orange dress they used to wear.
"Hey Tails! What are you doing here?" Roddy asked in really cheerful tone and Sonic scoffed.
"I do not sound that cheery!" He murmured and Shadow chuckled.
"Yeah you do." Shadow said before everybody shushed them. The play continued with Lauren playing the General's assistant and Lazarus playing the General. Since Silver didn't have any sons, Flash was playing the role of him while Topaz played Blaze. Everybody had a good laugh when Roddy reenacted Sonic's reaction to finding out they all had to wear clothes.
The children continued to act everything out pretty accurately with Ginger playing Luna, Shawn playing Reese, Tsunami as Midnight, and Hydro as Static. Bolt was of course Spark and Hailey was Winter. Ivy played the role of Rebecca while Derek played James, Lilac played Nikki, Conner did Jerry, Nicole was Arielle, and Liecy was Alchemy. Todd was surprised when he saw Julian took up the role as Romeo, but everybody was surprised when Alana appeared as Karen. He leaned forward in his seat excitedly though when the scene of him being introduced arrived.
"I bet twenty bucks you won't be able to drink this." Conner smirked passing the cup he was holding around the table.
"Get that shit out of my face." Brice grimaced while Conner pushed the cup towards Shade.
"Fuck that." He said while Amy shook her head at the amount of language their children were using.
"I'll do it." AJ said as he approached the table and Todd practically squealed.
"Go for it." Conner shrugged before handing the cup over to AJ. AJ started to pretend to chug the drink while the guys cheered him on. He slammed the cup onto the table and wiped his mouth with his arm. Conner looked at the empty cup and grimaced. "That was totally rank." Conner said as AJ sat next to Brice.
"Wasn't that bad. Tasted like a fruity hot dog." AJ shrugged while Todd smiled.
"And it did." He whispered and Jerry rolled his eyes.
"Name's Todd by the way." AJ introduced while Todd fought back to cheer. "I do that kind of stuff all the time. Just watch this." He grinned before he walked over to Alana who was filing her nails. "Hey Kar!" He greeted while the parents laughed.
"What do you want, Todd?" She asked in a high-pitched nasally voice. Renegade watched "off stage" and shuddered thanking whatever high being there was that she didn't actually sound like that.
"Well I just wanted to give you a gift to congratulate you on your nomination for Homecoming Queen." AJ smiled innocently before handing a box over to Alana. Alana opened it up as fake spiders flew out. She started to scream and run off the stage as the table of guys cracked up. The play continued with the introduction of Elijah (Andrew) and the part that Nikki and James were both dreading came up when she broke his heart.
"I know I was the one who broke us apart, but we both need each other and I see that now. Please, give me a second chance." Renegade – who was playing Devin – said to Lilac. Alana was "backstage" concentrating on making Lilac sad. Tears started to fall from her eyes and she fell to her knees. Derek came out and grabbed Renegade by the collar.
"What did you do to her?" He asked angrily, but Lilac stood back up and put a hand on Derek's shoulder.
"James stop! He's my…boyfriend." She said saying the last word softly. Renegade and Derek's eyes widened as Derek let Renegade go.
"What?" Derek asked confused and Lilac looked down sadly.
"Devin is my boyfriend." She murmured and Derek ran off stage. Nikki held James' hand in hers and he smiled down at her softly before they heard sniffling. Everyone turned to see Todd dabbing his eyes lightly.
"What? It was really sad!" He defended and James just rolled his eyes. Nikki and James eventually had their big reunion and The Winter Dance arrived where Jillian was introduced who was being played by Suzy. Christmas happened before The Talent Show happened and The Dark Matrix did a small performance since Brice didn't know how to play drums. Shade and Lauren did Shadow and Amy's performance since Serenity couldn't sing for shit and to everybody's great amusement Flash, Tyler, Hydro, Derek, Lauren, and Topaz did the boy band performance since they were the only ones who could even remotely sing. The play continued on up until graduation and Knuckles laughed hysterically when he saw Onyx was playing Robotnik.
"I now pronounce your graduating class!" Izzy announced—playing the role of the principal. Everybody threw their caps while the parents clapped and cheered. They skipped right over to Luna and Reese's wedding which made Reese and Luna happy.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife." Julian smiled playing the role of the officiant. Ginger and Shawn smiled at each other, while Flash peeked his head from behind the bed sheet.
"For all intents and purposes, we need to switch the character of Luna for a quick second." Flash said as Ginger switched with Ruby. Ruby and Shawn shared a quick kiss before Ginger came back. Everybody laughed while Brice sniffled loudly.
"Are you crying?" Ruby asked as Brice pretended to wipe away his tears.
"No! It's just these damn allergies." Brice said defensively while Knuckles crossed his arms.
"It was allergies." He muttered and Rouge patted his arm. They went through the reception and emotional talk about college before leaving Shawn and Ginger as the only two on stage.
"Okay! Who is that? You've been following us everywhere!" Shawn exclaimed before Lauren stepped out in her normal clothing.
"Who are you?" Ginger asked confused.
"I'm Lauren. Your…daughter!" Lauren said dramatically and Reese rolled his eyes.
"That's impossible!" Shawn gasped.
"Not really. Shadow and Amy's son can travel through time with his Chaos Emerald." Lauren shrugged and Shawn and Ginger continued to stare at her.
"No way, you got to be messing with us." Shawn shook his head as Lauren turned on a toy microphone she was holding.
"Oh really?" Lauren asked as it made her voice echo slightly.
"Did you just speak in my mind?"Shawn asked with his own toy microphone. "Hold on! How come I didn't predict this?" He questioned.
"Because I can block your predictions." She told him smugly while Reese crossed his arms and began muttering about still hating that power.
"You can?" Ginger asked and Lauren smiled.
"Yup, uh, I actually got to go. The future you two are going to be pissed." She told them before running off stage.
"What just happened?" Shawn asked.
"We just met our future daughter!" Ginger said excitedly as Shawn shook his head.
"This is too weird." He said and Ginger laughed.
"When has it been normal?" She asked before they held hands and walked off stage.
"It's still isn't." Luna muttered before all the parents stood up and applauded their children. Everybody came out and took their bow before Julian stood up straight and looked towards the parents.
"So…was it any good?" He asked while Reese read everyone's minds.
"Yup. Everybody loved it." Reese grinned before Julian turned towards Renegade.
"In your face! Told you our parents blabber about their lives too much." He exclaimed while the parents looked slightly offended and Renegade rolled his eyes. The parents went back into the kitchen while the kids began to clean everything up.
"I can't believe it's been twenty years since we graduated." Amy murmured.
"Eighteen for us." Static coughed out while everybody glared at him.
"That play brought back some good memories." Elijah said before wrapping his arm around Arielle's shoulders.
"I still can't believe you cried five times." James muttered while looking at Todd.
"We had some heart-touching moments!" Todd argued while Jillian laughed.
"We did have some good moments." Alchemy smiled.
"Okay, can we not get all emotional and sappy?" Shadow mumbled.
"I think Shadow needs a group hug!" Spark exclaimed as everybody crowded around him and got into one huge group hug.
"Um…I'm sorry to break up this touching moment, but here's the mail." Lauren muttered leaving a stack of mail on the counter and walking out. Luna walked over to it and began looking through it.
"Speaking of good moments, we're having a reunion!" Luna exclaimed.
"What?" Jillian gasped.
"It's our Twenty Year High School Reunion and apparently Electric Charge is performing." Luna said and Static whipped around and glared at Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles who were whistling innocently.
"Say what? Man, that is sure a surprise. It's not like they called and asked or anything. No, that would never happen." Sonic said while Static sighed heavily.
"It's in Hawaii!" Luna said and everybody cheered. Todd walked over to the kitchen door and pushed it open.
"We're going to Hawaii!" Todd yelled out to the kids and they cheered.
"This is going to be awesome!" Spark exclaimed.
