"This sucks." Bolt groaned sleepily as he sat next to Flash in the airport. Everybody was in the airport around five in the morning waiting for their flight to Maui.
"Apparently the flights are cheaper if they book the early ones." Shawn mumbled and Bolt just grumbled. Lauren was sitting next to Chrissy and Alana while she skimmed through different apps on her phone.
"How long is this flight?" She asked.
"Around five hours, I think." Chrissy yawned.
"Better than that flight to London." Lauren muttered. Alex was sitting next to his twin sister who was passed out and he got off the chair and walked over to Jillian.
"Mommy, why are we going to Hawaii?" Alex asked tugging on Jillian's pant leg.
"Because Mommy and Daddy are going to see some old friends while you play on the beach!" Jillian told him and Alex smiled happily. Everybody soon boarded on the plane, some on a different flight than the others since they couldn't all book the same flight. Shawn was sitting in his seat staring out the window, hoping Bolt wouldn't take the unoccupied seat next to him after Lauren left to sit next to Hydro.
"Hey man," Bolt greeted before plopping down in the seat next to Shawn with his backpack. "Hailey kicked me out so Lorgo could sit next to her." He told Shawn rolling his eyes.
'Goddammit.' Shawn thought with a scowl.
"You okay?" Bolt asked noticing the scowl on Shawn's face.
"Just some weird visions." Shawn sighed. Technically he was telling the truth. The one with their parents attacking them was also bothering him, but he has yet to bring it up to Reese. But he was still freaking out about the one with Chrissy and the random guy.
"What about?" Bolt asked as the plane started to take off.
"Random things, you know." He shrugged while Bolt looked over to where Chrissy and Shade were sitting together. Todd and his family were on the other flight which might have been a purposeful move on Todd's part because he didn't seem to be over seeing Shade and Suzy making out.
"Can you tell me anything about Chrissy and I?" Bolt asked quietly and Shawn wanted to jump out of the plane.
"Um…I can't really tell now. I can only still see you guys as friends." Shawn lied rubbing the back of his neck and Bolt nodded with a sad look on his face.
"Well, at least she isn't dating anyone else." Bolt sighed and Shawn nodded before staring back out the window.
"Hey Bolt," Shade said appearing at their side when the seatbelt sign was off. "Mind switching me for a little bit? I wanted to talk to Shawn about something." He asked and Bolt nodded before walking over to sit next to Chrissy who smiled at him.
"Did you tell him?" Shade asked sitting down next to Shawn.
"How do you know?" Shawn asked.
"Uh hello! Best friends with your mind reading sister." Shade told him and Shawn rolled his eyes.
"No, I didn't tell him." Shawn muttered.
"You know, you're going to have to tell him eventually." Shade told him and Shawn tossed his head back into his seat.
"Yeah, but 'eventually' isn't right now." He said and Shade rolled his eyes.
"What was the vision anyways? All I know is that it's going to hurt Bolt." He asked.
"It was some guy proposing to Chrissy and her saying yes." Shawn told him.
"Oo, that is bad." Shade murmured and Shawn sent him a look that read 'you think'.
"I'm just going to focus on having a good vacation right now." Shawn said putting his hands behind his head. Shade turned back to see Bolt and Chrissy asleep with Bolt's back pressed against the wall of the plane and Chrissy leaning on his chest. He smiled a bit and hoped that for once Shawn's vision didn't come true. Ginger was sitting in her seat and staring out the window while fiddling with her engagement ring. Derek was on the other flight and Ginger was starting to wonder if they were really up for this.
"What's wrong?" Silver asked sitting down in the empty seat next to Ginger. Silver was actually Ginger's Godfather and Amy was her Godmother. She always felt comfortable around Silver and usually went to him when her parents weren't being the most understanding.
"Silver, what was it like when you realized you loved Blaze?" Ginger asked and Silver smiled.
"It was sometime during a weekend. She had been spending a lot of time at our place, but I think she was getting tired of hanging out with all of us guys." Silver chuckled and Ginger laughed along with him. "Anyways, she was planning to go back to the girls' house after practically being at our place for a week. I woke up that day she was supposed to leave and looked at her and it kind of just hit me. She and I had been friends for so long and when we started dating it was just that, but with all the extra stuff. So when it hit me that I was in love with her and not just that friend-love it was kind of like being hit by a bus and landing in a pile of pillows." Silver told her and even though the description sounded completely ludicrous, Ginger understood completely.
"That's how it was with Derek." Ginger told him and Silver sighed heavily before putting his hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but you've found the one." He told her solemnly and Ginger laughed.
"Yeah, what a tragedy." She said sarcastically and Silver laughed.
"Don't worry about. You're definitely making the right choice." Silver told her and Serenity cleared her throat. "I can see when I'm not wanted." He said and Serenity sat back in her seat. A few hours later and they were in sunny Hawaii. They all arrived at the amazing hotel that was on the beach to check in.
"Oh God." Shadow sighed and the group groaned. Darren "Romeo" Rivers and Karen Purnup – now Rivers – were standing there with their three children behind them, Damian, Cassandra, and a reluctant looking Emily.
"Long time no see, Shadow." Romeo grinned walking over with Karen.
"Let's keep it that way, shall we?" Shadow scowled and Romeo chuckled before shaking his head.
"Same as always." Romeo sneered and Shadow glared at him. Rouge looked over at Karen before leaning towards Amy.
"That's some bad Botox." Rouge murmured while Amy snorted and laughed. Karen, having heard Amy laugh, turned and glared at the two.
"I see your children are here, Rouge. You must have really lost it after those twins." Karen told her in a saccharinely sweet voice. Rouge growled and was going to get in Karen's face, but Brice grabbed his Mom around her waist and held her back.
"Keep my wife's name out of your whore mouth, Karen." Knuckles scowled and Ruby flipped her off for good measure.
"Damian." AJ sneered and Damian glared at him. Cassandra stood by her Karen while Serenity stood by Amy.
"I see bitchiness runs in the family." Serenity remarked and Cassandra rolled her eyes before flipping her quills over her shoulder.
"Hi Emily!" Lauren smiled ignoring the pissing contest between the families.
"Hey, do you mind if I hang out with you while we're here? I really don't want to be around my family." Emily asked shyly.
"Sure, and I can see why. How you turned out so nice is a mystery to me." Lauren muttered and Emily shrugged her shoulders.
"I consider my nanny as the one who raised me, so…" Emily commented and Lauren nodded.
"See you at the reunion, Hedgehog." Romeo sneered before he left with the rest of his family.
"I hate that motherfucker." Shadow scowled and Shade nodded in understanding.
"Well if it isn't Reese and his little family." Ricky said approaching the Romaro family with Jared.
"Living a life. How about you?" Reese asked while Jared and Shawn glared at each other.
"Romaro." Jared hissed and Shawn crossed his arm.
"Anderson." Shawn scowled while Ruby stood by her boyfriend.
"James, Nikki, Spark, and Winter. Surprised to see you here." Devin greeted nicely while he walked up with Joseph.
"Devin, I can say the same for you." James said and Devin shrugged.
"My son insisted that I go." He told James and he nodded. Renegade, having heard this, narrowed his eyes towards Joseph suspiciously. Why would he care so much about going? "I heard you two are expecting, congratulations." He smiled towards Spark and Winter.
"Thank you. We heard you started your own law firm." Spark smiled and Bolt stared at his Dad in confusion while Derek and Lilac looked at each other with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah, it's only been a couple of months, but I've been building up a really good cliental." Devin shrugged and Joseph sighed loudly.
"Can we go now?" Joseph muttered and Devin shook his head.
"Don't mind him. He gets it from his mother." Devin whispered and Joseph glared at his Dad. "Anyways, I'm sure I'll see you guys at the reunion." He smiled before they all said their goodbyes.
"What the hell was that?" Bolt asked and Spark shrugged.
"People grow up, kid. Devin apologized to all of us years ago. He's not the same punk he was in high school." Spark explained and Bolt just stared at him slack-jawed.
"So, that's it? You guys are all friends?" Derek asked slowly.
"Not really. We're friendly to each other, but it's not like we're hanging out with him every weekend." James shrugged.
"I think that's the weirdest thing I've see yet." Bolt muttered and Winter rolled her eyes. Everybody soon checked-in and settled into their rooms before gearing up for the beach the next day. Hailey put her sunglasses on her face and settled onto the towel next to Suzy.
"Ah, I love the beach." Hailey smiled while Lorgo looked at her confused.
"I thought you love the snow?" Lorgo asked looking at her through his sunglasses.
"I love both. And I love you." She smiled before kissing him. Lorgo was suddenly hit with a football and he turned to glare at Flash.
"Quit making out with my cousin and come play some football!" Flash shouted and Lorgo shook his head before walking over towards Lorgo.
"I want no tackling!" Midnight shouted while everybody groaned. "Fine! But no extreme tackling." She said looking pointedly at Brice, Lazarus, and Bolt who were whistling innocently. "And I'm not just talking about the kids." Midnight said flicking her gaze to Spark, Todd, and Sonic who froze from passing the ball.
"I'm out then." Todd said walking away and Spark grabbed Static.
"But I don't want to play." Static whined while Spark rolled his eyes.
"Get over it, you baby." He told his brother who sighed. It was going to be Parents vs. Children for this game and Shade was acting quarterback.
"Blue forty-two! Hut! Hut! Hike!" Shade shouted before being hiked the ball. Shade dodged Knuckles, but quickly got sacked by Sonic. Shade scowled while Sonic smirked at him before they started their second play. Shade passed the ball to Lazarus who jumped over Shadow and ran to the end zone.
"Touchdown!" Brice yelled while Lazarus did his touchdown dance.
"1-0." Ebony smirked and Spark glared at her.
"Not for long." He said as the parents were handed the ball. Shadow threw the ball to Static who ran towards the end zone, but quickly got tackled by Brice.
"Yeah! That's my son!" Knuckles cheered and Spark and Shadow glared at him. "That we're going to beat!" He added while they rolled their eyes. This time Shadow ran with the ball Chaos Controlling around Shade and running into the end zone.
"I hate him." Shade muttered as Bolt nodded. They game soon ended with the score being 23-22 and the kids winning.
"Who won?" Brice asked loudly while the dads groaned.
"We won!" All the kid players yelled and cheered. Tyler stood on the shore with his surfboard, scoping out the waves, before turning back towards Onyx.
"C'mon Onyx! Before the waves start to suck!" Tyler shouted and Onyx grabbed his board before taking his hat off and putting it on Topaz's head making her laugh.
"Relax, relax, I'm coming." Onyx called out. Tyler and Onyx, of course, were as good at surfing as they were at skating. Tyler and Onyx paddled out towards the waves and spun around. They began to ride a wave and Tyler decided to show off and rode up to the peak of the wave and spun through the air while holding his board. He landed back into the water and smirked at Onyx who simply decided to push him off his board. Ruby laughed loudly from her place on the shore. Ruby was one with the air and not the water—in fact she was deathly afraid of the ocean. The furthest she'll go in is waist deep.
"Bastard!" Tyler shouted as he climbed back onto his board. He flipped is ears and hair back while Onyx chuckled and sailed up to him sitting on his own board.
"I find it very unnecessary that you pushed me off." Tyler told him and Onyx shrugged.
"Had to stop the showing off before it really started." He said and Tyler narrowed his eyes.
"Well, I haven't seen a trick from you yet. Scared I'm better?" Tyler smirked and Onyx just stared at him. Onyx swam out towards an approaching wave while Tyler stayed sitting on his board. Onyx began to ride the wave and moved to the front of his board and balanced himself at the tip. Tyler scoffed, clearly unimpressed, but his eyes widened when Onyx jumped on the board it knocked upwards. He grabbed the board as it sailed over his head and before he hit the water, he put it back on his feet and did a 180 on the board. Onyx rode the wave out and plopped down on his board next to Tyler.
"Whatever." Tyler muttered. As the sun began to set, Bolt and Chrissy were sitting in a hammock together, Bolt with his hands behind his head and Chrissy with her back pressed against Bolt's side with her head against his arm. They were just laying together as friends though—strictly friends.
"Would you rather eat an entire gallon of ice cream or a party bowl of cheese puffs?" Chrissy asked as they swung lazily in the hammock.
"Definitely the ice cream." Bolt said confidently and Chrissy laughed.
"But you'd get so sick." She told him and Bolt shrugged.
"So, I'll eat a cheese puff and throw up. You know I hate cheese puffs. I can eat a gallon of ice cream and maybe there will be the possibility of throwing up. When you think about it a gallon isn't a whole lot." He explained and she just shook her head. "Would you rather have loved and lost or never have loved at all?" Bolt asked and Chrissy remained silent for a period of time.
"I would rather have loved and lost." She finally said and Bolt shifted his head to look down at her. "I rather deal with some heartbreak than never know the feeling of being in love." She told him while looking up at him and Bolt smiled softly. Bolt moved one of his hands and grazed Chrissy's cheek with his thumb.
"Chrissy I—"
"You guys we're going back to the hotel! Hurry your asses up!" AJ shouted scaring them and making them lose their balance in the hammock. They spun around and landed on the ground with Chrissy on top of Bolt. They both blushed as they looked at each other before scrambling to get up.
"Um, we better get back." Chrissy stammered.
"Y-Yeah." Bolt stuttered before walking back to get their stuff. Shawn—having watched the entire thing—slapped AJ in the back of the head.
"What the hell was that for?" AJ asked rubbing the back of his head.
"You sure do know how to ruin a moment." Shawn said shaking his head.
"Tell me about it." Derek muttered as he walked passed them while AJ pouted. Everybody headed back to the hotel, while the parents started to get ready for their reunion that night.
"Dad! But why?" Suzy whined while Todd and Jillian finished getting ready for the reunion.
"Because we need someone to watch the kids." Jillian told her putting the finishing touches of her makeup on.
"But what about Julian?" Suzy asked.
"He's babysitting Luca with Izzy." Todd told her checking himself out in the mirror.
"What about AJ?" Suzy asked crossing her arms while AJ walked into the room and grabbed his phone charger.
"Can't do. Babysitting with Amber." He told her before slipping out of the suite. Suzy huffed before collapsing onto the couch that was in the room.
"Oh stop being a baby. Invite Shade and Ivy over." Todd told her as he tried to fix his tie before Jillian finally came over and fixed it for him.
"Why do you guys even have to go to a reunion?" Suzy muttered.
"Quit your complaining." Jillian told her firmly sleeping on her heels. "Alex, Juliana! Mommy and Daddy are leaving." She called out as the twins came running in.
"Bye Daddy!" Juliana exclaimed before jumping into Todd's arms.
"Mommy, I don't want you to go. Something's bad is going to happen." Alex told her.
"Honey, nothing bad is going to happen. I promise." Jillian told him, but Alex didn't looked convinced.
"But Mom! I saw it! Something's bad is going to happen!" Alex exclaimed and Jillian looked at him sadly.
"Alex, I promise we'll be okay. Have fun with Suzy and we'll be there when you wake up." Jillian told him and Alex stared down at his feet sadly. Juliana came by his side and together they watched as their parents left.
"Okay guys! What do you want to do?" Suzy asked as they just walked away into their room. Suzy watched them walk away confused and followed them. "Guys, what's wrong?" Suzy asked as they sat on the bed facing each other.
"We just want to be alone." Alex mumbled and Juliana looked at her sister sadly before shrugging.
"Okay, but if you need anything, I'll be in the living room." Suzy told them softly while they both nodded. Suzy walked out confused about her younger siblings, but her thoughts were interrupted when there was a knock at the door.
"Hey!" Ivy smiled as she skipped into the room with Flash and Shade behind her.
"Hey guys." Suzy mumbled distractedly and Shade looked over at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked as Suzy looked up at him.
"Alex and Juliana are acting strange. They just want to be left alone." Suzy shrugged as Flash crashed on the couch.
"Maybe they're becoming teenagers early." Flash said and Suzy rolled her eyes.
"Yeah? And when are you going to stop being such a kid?" Suzy asked and Flash started to count on his fingers.
"Never!" He exclaimed making Ivy laughed. In Izzy's room, Julian was crawling around the floor searching up and down for Luca.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are." Julian sang while Luca giggled. Julian knew exactly where he was, but he was letting him have his fun. Izzy watched on in laughter as Alana and Renegade walked into the room.
"Wow, got him on his knees already?" Renegade asked and Julian flipped him off.
"He's trying to find Luca." Izzy told them.
"Olli-olli-oxen-free!" Julian shouted and Luca popped out from underneath the bed.
"You couldn't find me!" He cheered and Julian propped him up on his shoulders.
"Look who's here!" Izzy smiled as Luca looked over at Alana and Renegade.
"Reni!" Luca yelled excitedly while Renegade smiled sheepishly. Ever since Luca met Renegade he has formed a strange attachment to him. Julian took Luca over to the couch and put Luca next to Renegade.
"What's up Luca?" Renegade asked and Luca started to play with one of the strings on his hoodie. "Good to know…" He muttered as Alana laughed. Julian sat on the couch next to Luca and Luca leaned against him continuing to play with the string on Renegade's hoodie.
"Well, don't you look comfortable?" Izzy smiled and Luca nodded.
"I thought this was vacation, not adventures in babysitting." Renegade mumbled. In Silver and Blaze's suite, AJ was currently floating in the air while scrolling through his phone and Tyson stared at him with glowing hands.
"Tyson! Put AJ down!" Amber shouted at her baby brother and AJ landed on his feet with a soft thud.
"I was there for fifteen minutes and you just noticed now?" AJ asked and Amber shrugged her shoulders. Tyson started to drift off to sleep and AJ raised an eyebrow. "He sleeps a lot doesn't he?" He muttered and Amber smiled.
"Yup. It's so cute!" Amber squealed as Tyson's thumb hung off his mouth. "C'mon! You have to think that's cute!" She said and AJ smiled.
"Yeah, I guess." AJ shrugged.
"I wonder what our parents are doing at the reunion." Amber said after putting Tyson in the makeshift crib for him.
"If we were there, it would probably embarrass us." AJ muttered thinking about all the stupid shit his Dad does.
"What do you think our class reunion will be like?" Amber asked and AJ shrugged.
"The same, but it'll be in Paris." AJ said excitedly and Amber raised her eyebrow.
"Why Paris?" She asked as he put his arm around her.
"Because I said so." He said and Amber laughed.
"Yeah, because that's how things work." Amber said sarcastically while AJ shrugged his shoulders.
"It can happen." AJ said while Amber rolled her eyes.
"Keep dreaming, babe." Amber told him patting his cheek.
