"Are you guys in place?" Renegade asked through the wrist walkie-talkie that Tyler had set the leaders of the groups up with.
"Yeah." Hydro's voice came through.
"Ready." Brice's voice said.
"Ready to rock." Tyler said and Renegade nodded.
"Julian, are you and Shawn all set?" Renegade asked.
"All ready." Julian said as he stood as a blue fox with long hair held back into a ponytail and green eyes. Shawn was a brown hedgehog with shaggy quills and brown eyes. They were both dressed in pizza delivery uniforms while holding several boxes in their hands.
"Okay, give us the signal." Renegade told them while Julian and Shawn stood in front of the building. Bolt and Flash had dismantled the force-field earlier, allowing them to approach the building. Julian banged on the door loudly and eventually Jared arrived at the door and looked at them confused.
"Yes?" Jared asked slowly.
"Aloha dude, we have a delivery of thirty Hawaiian style pizzas for these coordinates." Shawn told him in a surfer-dude accent. Jared narrowed his eyes in confusion while he held the door.
"No one here ordered pizzas." Jared mumbled.
"Dude, we got the order and we're here to deliver it. Please, take the pizzas and we will take your payment of $243.49." Julian said using the same accent that Shawn had used and pushed the pizzas towards Jared.
"Listen dudes, we didn't order any fucking pizzas." Jared growled angrily pushing the pizzas back. During the struggle, Julian pushed the small button on his watch alerting the rest of the groups that it was go time.
"It's time to head out!" Tyler shouted as he set the plane to autopilot. He opened the door to the plane as Ruby, Onyx, Izzy, Topaz, Chrissy, Lazarus, and Roddy all gathered around him. Onyx held onto Ruby's legs before she jumped out of the plane. Lazarus held onto Tyler's board while they jumped out with Topaz following behind them. Chrissy and Izzy just held onto Roddy while he teleported to the roof on the other side of the building, away from where Jared, Julian, and Shawn were. The rest eventually landed around them and Tyler pried open an air vent on the roof.
"Let's go." Tyler whispered motioning his group to follow him. They landed in an empty room and with the building so small, they knew they couldn't possibly be on this level. "Onyx, feel it out." Tyler told him quietly while Onyx put his hand on the ground. With his seismic sense, Onyx could feel a large bunker underground, about three times the size of the building they were currently standing in.
"There's a bunker below—a giant one. That's where they all are. Probably should tell the other groups." Onyx told Tyler and he nodded before lifting up his watch.
"Guys, the building is not where they are. It's just a cover. There's an underground bunker beneath it." Tyler said and Brice huffed.
"Well that changes things." Brice murmured as he, Conner, AJ, Derek, Nicole, Amber, Lorgo, and Lilac stood in the middle of a tunnel they were burrowing—well mostly Brice, Conner, and AJ were, the others were following. Amber had her hands lit with fire as she kept a light going for the group. "Renegade, what do you want us to do?" Brice asked.
"Continue to dig and try to hit the bunker, but somewhere away from where everyone is now." Renegade told him and Brice nodded.
"You heard him guys." Brice said before he continued to pummel through the ground. AJ and Conner followed him pushing the earth around them to continually form the tunnel. Brice stopped when he came in contact with concrete. "Tyler, you guys in?" He asked.
"Not yet. We're waiting for Julian and Shawn to be done. Watching this is hilarious, by the way." Tyler said while Brice heard arguing in the background.
"Ask Onyx if he can tell us where we are." Brice said and there was some whispering on the other end.
"Onyx says your outside of the room where they're holding Shade. One of them is there with him though. He says start digging towards your left for a couple of yards and you should hit an empty room." Tyler explained and Brice nodded. They did as they were told and Brice broke into a dark and empty room. Brice sighed in relief and waited for Renegade to give them the next signal.
Hydro and his group—Tsunami, Lauren, Liecy, Suzy, Hailey, and Alana—were standing near the exit of the runoff. During Flash, Bolt, and Ebony's reconnaissance they had said their was a runoff located near the building which Hydro was hoping now led underground. Lauren and Tsunami used their powers to surround everyone, except Hydro, with an air bubble around their heads. They swam up the river that was the runoff and Hydro was pleased to see it go deeper. They all swam through a dark cave while Hydro continued to lead the way. Hydro grinned when he saw the rocks become metal walls. He began to swim upwards towards a light and resurfaced to see a large room with a spinning turbines.
"Well, at least they're environmentally friendly." Hailey muttered before they all swam out of the small pool.
"For the last goddamn time! We didn't order any fucking pizzas!" Will shouted—who had came up to see what the hassle was—while Jared shook his head.
"Just take the pizzas dude! We came all this way in a fucking jungle carrying these. Now just take them!" Shawn shouted and Jared sighed loudly.
"We don't need pizzas!" He yelled.
"We came all this way to deliver, now just take it. Our boss is going to be pissed if we don't show up with the money." Julian told them and Will threw his arms up in frustration. Renegade watched them through the bushes, shaking his head before he turned to face his team. His team consisting of Bolt, Flash, Ebony, Andrew, Serenity, Suzy, and Ivy. Renegade nodded once before Flash put Ivy on his back, Ebony grabbed Andrew, and Serenity grabbed Suzy before they all took off in different directions. Bolt looked at Renegade warily before rubbing the back of his neck.
"So…do you want me to just hold you—"
"Just grab my arm." Renegade muttered. Bolt nodded before grabbing Renegade and taking off in the direction that Serenity went. They all regrouped at the back of the building and a hole in the ground suddenly appeared behind them.
"Y'all need a ride?" Brice asked quietly. They all dropped into his hole and followed him out to the room they had made the entrance to.
"Shade's in the next room." Nicole said and Suzy looked over to Renegade. Renegade nodded and they both ran out of the room and into the hallway. They ran over to the next room and Renegade kicked the door in.
"Ay, finally!" Cheka exclaimed when he saw Renegade and Suzy in the doorway. Suzy looked confused when she sat Shade and Cheka sitting together at a table and Renegade scowled.
"Shade!" Suzy exclaimed running over to him and wrapping her arms around him. Shade smiled softly before wrapping his arms around her and holding her close. Suzy let go of Shade and turned to glare angrily at Cheka. "You son of—"
"Suzy, relax. He's cool." Shade told him and she looked over at him confused.
"What?" She asked and Renegade sighed.
"We don't have time for this!" Renegade said while Cheka chuckled and shook his head.
"Impatient as always." Cheka grinned and Renegade glared at him. Renegade ignored him and pressed another button on his watch, signaling everyone else's. Julian smirked before he and Shawn morphed back to their normal faces. Jared and Will looked at them in shock before they smashed the pizzas in their faces and running passed them.
"They're here!" Jared muffled through all the pizza boxes, but the groups converged in the hallway already and burst into the main room. Some gasped at the sight of their parents suspended in tubes filled with mysterious green liquid, unconscious with masks attached to their faces.
"'Bout time they got here." Razor murmured in a bored tone.
"Let them go." Bolt growled and Cassandra smirked.
"Well, since you asked." She shrugged. The liquids from the tubes that held their parents started to slowly drain while everyone got into a fighting stance. The masks popped off their parents' faces and their eyes popped open glowing red.
"Remember guys, take off the collars." Renegade told them and they all nodded. Suddenly Hydro was slammed into the wall with Static's hand wrapped tightly around his neck. Hydro gritted his teeth as he reached towards Static's neck, but froze when he saw nothing there.
"T-hey don't have c-ollars." Hydro choked out before blasting Static off of him with a blast of water.
"What?" Renegade exclaimed before looking at all the brainwashed parents to see nothing around their necks.
"Oh? You didn't know? We managed to create a serum that nullified the need for collars." Cassandra grinned while Allie sneered at her, not liking how she said 'we.' "Now then, attack." She grinned before the parents all lunged forward. Roddy teleported out of the way from his Dad and Sonic whirled around growling loudly. Roddy reappeared and Sonic slowly turned his body around.
"Snap out of it! It's me!" Roddy shouted before dodging a punch from Sonic. "Seriously! I'm your son!" He yelled before teleporting away again. "If you don't stop doing that, I will punch you!" He said appearing behind Sonic, but suddenly Sonic grabbed him by his shirt and brought his face close to his. "Dad…" Roddy swallowed nervously and Sonic's eyes softened before he blinked. He dropped Roddy and gripped his head in anguish. He shook his head before glaring back at Roddy.
"Shit." Roddy cursed before rolling away from a homing attack. He got back on his feet and teleported behind Sonic, before kicking him onto his stomach. Sonic growled and quickly got back onto his feet before charging at Roddy. Roddy dropped to the ground and swung his leg towards Sonic's ankles making him drop to the floor. Roddy stared at his Dad and wondered if he should hit him or not, but before he could even decide Sonic kicked him sending him flying into a wall. Renegade looked around at the fights taking place and growled at how quickly this twist undermined his plans.
"Ivy!" Renegade called out. "I want you to stop fighting and heal anyone who gets hurt." He told her and she nodded before stepping off to the side. Ivy gasped when Bolt flew past her and into a wall. She looked to see Spark walking towards her menacingly and froze. However before he could get any closer to her, Bolt barreled into Spark at super speed.
"You little brat!" Spark spat in Bolt's face before grabbing the back of Bolt's shirt and tossing him over his head and onto the ground. Spark, with his fists surging with electricity, lifted his fist above Bolt, but before he could hit him Bolt created an ice shield that took the brunt of the blow while Bolt phased into the ground. Spark growled loudly, but whirled around and blocked Bolt's incoming attack. Electricity surged between them before it exploded sending them flying to opposite sides of the room. They both skidded to a stop before charging to each other at full speed. Spark went high, but Bolt went low, landing a punch on Spark's stomach and that sent him careening backwards.
"Has somebody figured out how to stop this yet?" Bolt called out before stopping one of Spark's fists and freezing it. Spark swung his other arm around, but Bolt caught it and froze it too. Spark growled and swung both his fists up to hit Bolt against his head, but Bolt slipped back into the ground. The ice broke around Spark's hands and Spark dropped down on the ground and sent an electric pulse through the ground. Bolt fired out of the ground and before he could even land, Spark grabbed him and pinned him to the wall.
"Having fun, Solari?" Joseph smirked while Bolt fought to remove his father's hand around his neck. Bolt grabbed onto Spark's arms and sent out a million volt shock through him. Spark released him and sent an orb of electricity at Spark. Spark diffused it before charging at Bolt again and slammed into him. Bolt grunted in pain when his back hit the wall and saw that he was bleeding from his arm. He growled before kicking Spark off of him and blasting him with a beam of electricity.
"Are you okay?" Ivy asked running over to him. She wrapped her hands around Bolt's arm before it started to glow and the wound on his arm healed.
"I will be, thanks Ivy." Bolt told her before running after Spark. Midnight and Tsunami were facing off and Tsunami was trying to dodge all of Midnight's attacks.
"You scared, bitch?" Midnight asked punching at Tsunami again.
"My Mom called me a bitch while she was brainwashed and I had to fight for my life against her. Those were my summer plans this year. Oh yeah, sounds great." Tsunami muttered under her breath before whipping Midnight with some water. Midnight growled before blasting Tsunami down with water. Tsunami hit the ground and sputtered, but her eyes widened when she saw Midnight over her with her fist raised. Tsunami caught her fist and shocked her making Midnight howl in pain. Tsunami's eyes began to well up with tears, but she had to fight. This wasn't her Mom right now. Across the room, Suzy punched Jillian across the face, but Jillian quickly recovered, grabbing Suzy's head between her hands and ramming her face into her knee.
'Jesus Christ, Mom fights dirty.' Suzy thought as bleed poured out of her nose. Ivy began to ran towards her, but Suzy shook her head towards her. "I'm fine." Suzy told her before getting tackled to the ground by Jillian. Jillian began to wail on Suzy while Suzy helplessly tried to block her attacks. Suzy kicked Jillian off before getting back onto her feet, however she wobbled on them.
"Suzy!" Ivy shouted when she saw Suzy fall onto her knee. Suzy looked up and saw Jillian standing in front of her. Before she could even wind up a punch, Jillian wrapped her hand around Suzy's neck. Suzy choked and grabbed onto Jillian's arm, but Jillian continued to strangle her.
"M-Mom." Suzy cried looking up at the almost unrecognizable face of her mother. "Mommy please." She pleaded loudly with tears streaming down her cheeks. Suzy gasped when Jillian released her and looked up to see Jillian on her knees, holding her head in pain.
"S-S-Su—"Jillian stuttered while squeezing her eyes closed.
"Mom! It's me! Suzy! Please fight this! I love you! Please!" Suzy shouted putting her hands on her Mom's shoulders. Jillian stared up at Suzy and Suzy swallowed nervously as she stared into the lifeless red eyes.
"Suzy." Jillian whispered and Suzy sighed in relief when she saw the red fade away and give way to the kind, lavender eyes of her Mom. Jillian fainted in Suzy's arms and Suzy cried out in relief and held Jillian against her.
"Allie! What the fuck happened?" Cassandra asked seeing that Jillian had reverted back.
"How am I supposed to know? The serum should have overrode their nervous system and brain function." Allie scowled.
"Fix this!" Cassandra demanded.
"How? They're already out of their pods! The serum is in them!" Allie shouted at her and Cassandra glared at her angrily.
"Fix this, Allie." Cassandra told her before whipping around. Allie glared at the back of Cassandra's head before looking at her tablet and trying to fix whatever the fuck was going. Renegade ran over to where Suzy was holding Jillian and kneeled down to them.
"What happened, Suzy?" Renegade asked.
"I—I'm not really sure. She just remembered me." Suzy told him wiping the tears off her cheeks. Renegade looked down at Jillian's unconscious body and tried to remember what happened between Static and Flash. "Let's get you guys out of the middle of this." He said picking up Jillian while Suzy followed him. As soon as he got Suzy and Jillian to a safe spot, he ran over to Nicole who was currently blocking Arielle's punches.
"You have to make her remember you!" Renegade shouted as he grabbed onto Arielle. Arielle snarled at him while Nicole stared at them confused. "It will make her snap out of this. She has to remember who you are!" He grunted while Arielle fought against his grip.
"Mom! It's me! Your daughter! Nicole!" Nicole shouted while taking a step towards Arielle. Arielle screamed at her and continued to fight against Renegade's hold. "Andrew and I are here for you. You have to remember us please!" She cried helplessly. Arielle was struggling a little less, but she kept whipping her head around while blinking her eyes.
"It's working Nicole! Keep it up!" Renegade told her and Nicole wiped her tears away before taking a determined step towards Arielle.
"Let her go, Renegade." Nicole told him.
"That's not really the best idea." He muttered.
"Just do it." Nicole said and Renegade let her go. Before Arielle could even get her bearings, Nicole wrapped her arms around her in a hug. "Mom, please, remember me. I love you so much. Andrew loves you. I can't keep fighting you." She cried softly while holding onto her Mom tightly. Renegade was ready to spring into action in case Arielle went off, but she as still as a statue. He watched as Arielle's eyelids drooped over her eyes before fading back to her normal gray color. Arielle collapsed and Nicole cried while holding onto her tightly like Suzy had with Jillian. Renegade sighed in relief before moving Nicole and Arielle next to Suzy and Jillian.
"You have to tell everyone that in order to get their parents' back to normal, they have to get them to remember who they are." Renegade told Suzy who nodded and sent out a mental message to everyone in the group. Flash skidded to a stop and turned back towards Static who was approaching him.
"Dad! Remember me! I'm your son! Flash! You helped make me!" Flash shouted, but Static just blinked once before shaking his head and charging Flash. Flash braced himself and they both went flying across the floor. Flash pushed Static off of him and scrambled onto his feet quickly. Static clenched his fists with electricity surging around them and glared at Flash.
"This is a lot scarier than the first time." Flash gulped before surrounding his hands with electricity. Static charged at him, but Flash quickly blasted a stream of lightning at him. Static dodged it and punched Flash across the face. He stumbled back on his feet only to get punched in the stomach. Flash caught his next punch and shoved him away with a blast of electricity. Static landed back on the ground and he and Flash charged towards each other at super speed. Flash, however, went sliding across the floor when, at the last second, Static fired a blast of lightning at him. Flash's eyes widened while Static stood over him, but he was sent crashing into the wall by a blast of water.
"You leave him alone!" Hydro shouted. "You want to pick on someone, Dad? Pick on me, but not Flash!" He growled angrily. Static sputtered the water out of his mouth and laid on the ground on his hands and knees. He shook his head and looked up at Hydro helping Flash off the ground and closed his eyes tightly. Hydro and Flash watched as Static got back onto his feet, but swayed clumsily. His head lolled back and the glowing red color faded away to his original red eyes. Static collapsed onto the ground unconscious and Flash sighed in relief.
"Thanks for the save." Flash told Hydro.
"Anytime, little bro." Hydro grinned. Bolt was trying to catch his breath after freezing Spark, but he knew that wouldn't hold him for long. Hailey landed next to him and he looked over at his sister who already had some ice burns along her arms and legs. He didn't look any better with cuts and burns on himself. Ivy was doing here best, but there were a lot of people and Rebecca had engaged her in a fight.
"How's it going?" Bolt asked and Hailey snorted.
"Getting my ass kicked, you?" She asked and Bolt looked over to where Spark was breaking out of the ice.
"No fairing much better." He sighed while Hailey saw Winter approaching. Since Winter was pregnant, Hailey was acting on defense instead of offense, but that didn't allow her much ground.
"Action Maneuver 32?" Hailey asked and Bolt nodded. They both grabbed onto each other's right arm and began to run in circles at super speed. They formed a tornado that both their parents got quickly sucked into. Electricity was surging around in the tornado, shocking Spark while Winter covered her face and body from the wind. Spark swiftly grabbed Bolt's leg and ripped him away from Hailey. Hailey went flying across the room while Bolt slid across the floor. Spark sped across the room and caught Hailey before she hit the ground by her neck.
"D-Daddy." Hailey stuttered staring down at Spark with fear in her eyes. Spark paused slightly staring at Hailey before snarling and tightening his grip around her neck.
"No!" Bolt shouted, but he landed on his face because Winter froze his feet solid. "Dad! Let Hailey go! Please!" He pleaded as he tried to unfreeze his feet, but Winter slammed her foot on his back and kept him pinned. "Mom! He's going to kill her!" Bolt shouted while struggling against Winter's hold. Winter's eyes softened before she shook her head and pressed her foot further into Bolt's back.
"Dad!" Hailey cried out when she felt her air supply dwindle. She was shocking his arm, but he was absorbing the energy and still glaring at Hailey unaffected. Spark was suddenly wrapped up by a vine and thrown away from Hailey. Hailey fell to the ground gasping and Bolt looked up at Lorgo shocked.
"You need to see what you're doing, Mr. Solari. You were going to kill your daughter! I don't care how warped your perception is right now, but you are hurting your own children!" Lorgo shouted at Spark while keeping him immobile by multiple vines sprouting from the ground. Bolt used the slight distraction to push Winter off of him and ran over to Hailey.
"Are you okay?" He asked kneeling down next to her.
"Yeah, I am." Hailey nodded rubbing her neck. "Lorgo!" She screamed when she saw him get frozen by Winter. Spark broke out of the vines and landed right next to Winter. "I don't know if we can stop them, Bolt." She told him weakly.
"We have to try." He said determinedly before slamming his fists on the ground and putting an ice wall between them and their parents. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Chrissy being lifted up into the air by Cream before being dropped. He didn't even think and sprinted his way over to her. He caught her out of the air and held her close as they tumbled onto the ground.
"You okay?" Bolt asked softly holding her in his arms.
"Yeah, thanks." Chrissy smiled at him before he lifted them both back onto their feet.
"Oh my God, just get back together already!" Spark shouted and Bolt whipped his head around to see Spark and Winter staring at him with their normal appearances. They both soon collapsed onto the ground and he looked over at Hailey confused, but she just shrugged. Shade ran laps around the room with Shadow hot on his tail. Serenity sidelined Shadow, but Shadow grabbed her and tossed her away. Shade skidded to a stop and Shadow charged up two Chaos Spears in his hands.
"Dad, c'mon. We don't have to do this." Shade said slowly, but Shadow just smirked before firing off several Chaos Spears at him. Shade dodged a couple of them, but some managed to hit making him hiss in pain.
"Are you okay?" Serenity asked and Shade nodded.
"Help Ebony with Mom. I can hold him off a little longer." Shade told her and Serenity didn't look convinced. "Just go!" He shouted and Serenity took off. Shadow walked through the cloud of smoke that formed and Shade sighed heavily. "That would have looked way cooler if I wasn't on the receiving end of it." He muttered before jumping up and launching Chaos Spears at Shadow. Shadow dodged them all before jumping up in the air and rolling into a homing attack. Shade dodged the attack before jumping and kicking Shadow. Shadow landed on the ground and growled at Shade.
"Chaos Spiral!" Shade shouted before spinning into a small tornado and attacking Shadow. Shadow hit the wall and slid down it before landing on the ground and charging Shade. Shade jumped over him and fired off more Chaos Spears towards Shadow. Shadow spun around, dodged the attack, and ran towards Shade punching him in the face. The force sent Shade soaring and he hit the wall with a loud thud. He groaned in pain as he got back onto his feet and his eyes widened when he saw Shadow charging towards him. He Chaos Controlled out of the way and Shadow did the same when he missed. They continued to the teleport around the room, trading blows, before Shade managed to kick him off of him.
"Dad, please. Recognize me! I'm your one and only son!" Shade shouted but Shadow cracked his neck once before lunging towards him. Shade ducked to the ground letting Shadow sail over him before turning around and firing off a Chaos Spear at him. It hit Shadow in the face and that angered him immensely.
"Chaos Blast!" Shadow shouted and Shade's eyes widened. He froze in fear as the green blast headed towards him, but suddenly he was pushed out of the way. Shade went rolling along the floor while their corner of the room filled with smoke. Shade coughed as he tried to fan the smoke out of his line of vision.
"Cheka?" Shade gasped seeing Cheka lying on the ground, scorched and barely breathing. "Are you fucking insane?" He asked kneeling down towards him.
"Told you I wasn't going to make it." Cheka said weakly and Shade frowned. "Keep it safe." He murmured tapping his own neck.
"No, we can help you! Ivy!" Shade shouted and Cheka chuckled faintly.
"It's done, Shade. I'm gone. All the parents will be normal now." Cheka told him and Shade looked at him confused. "They used my powers for the toxin. Beat them for me, por favor?" He grinned softly.
"Cheka—"
"Adios, mi compañero de Amistad." Cheka whispered before his eyes shut and his head lulled to the side. Shade cursed and slammed his fist onto the ground angrily. Shade looked around to see all the parents unconscious on the ground and Cassandra shouting at Allie. Renegade walked over to him and put a hand on Shade's shoulder.
"He knew what was coming." Renegade told him while Shade just frowned.
"What do you know, Renegade?" Shade asked him quietly.
"Now is not the time, Shade." Renegade told him while he looked over at the group that caused them so much hell. "We have another fight to fight."
