"I guess we're just going to have to handle this ourselves now, aren't we?" Cassandra asked as she hopped down from the base they were all standing on.
"Link me up." Renegade told Lauren who nodded.
'Guys, most of you are not in a condition to fight again. So this is how it's going to go: Serenity you'll get Cassandra, Lorgo get Will, Lazarus—Razor, Alana—Allie, AJ—Damian, I'll fight Joseph, and Izzy you get Jared.' Renegade explained through everyone's mind and he saw everyone nod.
"Let's not waste anymore time then." Renegade said before charging after Joseph. Everyone who was fighting charged their respective opponent while everyone else went back to tend to their parents. Alana faced off with Allie who didn't look all that impressed.
"So you've been smart all along?" Alana asked as they stood across from each other.
"It's pretty easy to play dumb at a high school. Especially when none of you are smart enough to figure it out." Allie smirked and Alana frowned.
"I'm not the one stupid enough to follow Cassandra. Then again, she is the one who said she upgraded everything." She said and Allie scowled angrily. Alana had felt the anger Allie felt when Cassandra claimed she had anything to do with serum and immediately knew it was a weak point for her.
"Look, I know your powers. Just put me down now." Allie said and Alana did hit her with a large dose of lethargy before Allie passed out on the ground.
"Well that's no fun!" Lauren shouted at her and Alana just shook her head before dragging Allie over to where the rest of the group was. Izzy sent out a gust of wind that collided with a sonic wave that Jared had fired towards her.
"Julian! Cover!" Izzy shouted and Julian immediately created a force field around the group that covered them from the storm that Izzy was creating.
"A woman with weather powers—how appropriate." Jared snorted and that angered Izzy more and the storm she had created grew bigger blowing the building above them away and drenching the entire room in a heavy rain. Izzy hardened the rain above Jared into hail and it continued to pelt him no matter how much her tried to avoid it. He fired a wave upwards trying to make some gap between him and the heavy hail, however, Izzy conjured a lightning bolt and struck the ground near his feet.
"Never piss Izzy off." Conner murmured to Julian who just nodded. Jared ripped off a piece of sheet metal off the wall and held it over his head before charging Izzy. Izzy stopped the raindrops in front of her and pushed the large shield of water towards Jared. He fell onto his back and sputtered while trying to push his wet dreads out of his face. Izzy walked over to him and kicked him in the head immediately knocking him out. Izzy lightened up the storm, but since she had made such a massive storm she couldn't stop the rain completely. She dragged Jared's unconscious body over and dumped him next to Allie before standing next to Julian.
"You are so hot." Julian murmured and she just rolled her eyes. Lorgo fought against Will in close combat since Will was stopping Lorgo's vine-power. Lorgo leaned back while Will swung his fist towards his face. Lorgo leaned back and clocked Will in the jaw making Will stagger backwards.
"Who are you even? I've never seen you at school." Will asked and Lorgo just smirked before swinging his foot around and kicking Will in the side.
"Lorgo. Nice to meet you. I'm dating Hailey and I went to school with these guys since kindergarten. Just happen to be going to a different high school." Lorgo explained and Will scowled at him. Will swung his fist around and Lorgo caught it before pushing him back. Will started to get frustrated and Lorgo slowly felt his powers coming back.
"You tried to go out with Tsunami, right? Boy, compared to Lazarus you really didn't stand a chance." Lorgo laughed and Will growled. "Then again, compared to a rock you really didn't stand a chance." He commented and Will lunged at him. Lorgo side-stepped him and he whirled around angrily.
"What is he doing?" Tsunami asked and Flash chuckled.
"He's goading him." Flash told her. Lorgo dodged left and right while Will furiously tried to punch him.
"Mad little kitty, aren't you?" Lorgo smirked and Will growled at him. Lorgo laughed as he stepped back and slid out of Will's warpath. Will charged towards him and Lorgo smirked while standing still. Will stopped when he felt a tap on his shoulder and he looked behind him to see a green vine there. Before he could do anything Lorgo whipped the side of his head and Will fell to the floor unconscious. Damian dodged a rock that AJ flung at him before flipping backwards dodging another rock.
"Testy, testy, Amber cut you off?" Damian taunted and AJ scowled before slamming his foot on the ground making Damian fall into a hole. Damian Chaos Controlled out of the hole and above AJ, but AJ launched a rock upwards and pinned Damian to the broken ceiling. Damian Chaos Controlled back onto the ground and AJ tossed the boulder he had previously pinned him with at Damian. Damian ducked out of the way before firing Chaos Spears at AJ. AJ stomped the ground and a wall appeared before him blocking all of Damian's attacks. AJ propelled himself into the air and over the wall he just made while Damian stared at him shocked.
"Going to have to do better than that. I grew up with Chaos kids." AJ smirked and Damian lunged out the way while AJ landed creating a crater into the ground. He stood back up with several rock pellets around him and sent them flying at Damian at super speed. Damian Chaos Controlled away only to be smacked in the face with a stone. "Your path is predictable." AJ said flooring Damian with a boulder.
"When did AJ get badass?" Julian asked and Derek snorted.
"This won't last long." Derek said. AJ opened a hole underneath Damian and before he could fall all the way in, AJ closed the hole around Damian near his arms, efficiently trapping him. Damian tried to struggle, but he couldn't move at all while AJ approached him.
"Make sure you keep my girl's name out of your mouth." AJ told him before flicking a stone into the back of his head. Damian slumped forward unconscious and AJ kicked the ground making Damian shoot out. AJ dragged Damian by his shirt collar before dumping him on top of Will and joining the group.
"Did you see how cool I was?" AJ exclaimed excitedly while Derek turned to Julian.
"Told you." Derek said and Julian just shook his head. Lazarus dodged Razor's blades before hitting the floor and kicking Razor in the stomach. Razor stumbled backwards and growled at Lazarus, but Lazarus quickly got up and throat punched him. Razor wheezed, but Lazarus continued his assault of punches and kicks before Razor stabbed a blade into his arm.
"Shit!" Lazarus cursed before ripping the blade out of his arm. Razor had Chaos Controlled away and Lazarus ducked while he saw three blades sail over his head. He whirled around and threw the blade back at Razor who dodged it. However, it was enough of a distraction that Lazarus was able to lunge towards him and tackle him to the ground. Razor went to punch Lazarus, but Lazarus moved his head and slammed his fist down on Razor's chest. Razor kicked Lazarus off and rubbed his chest sorely.
"Not so tough now, huh?" Lazarus asked and Razor got back onto his feet.
"I'm only just getting started." Razor muttered. Lazarus blocked Razor's blows before grabbing his arm and punching him in the stomach. Razor hit the ground on his knees and knew he was in a losing fight. He had to do something to stop this. Lazarus froze in his steps when he saw Tsunami appear next to Razor. Razor grabbed her and held a blade right next to her neck and he glared at Lazarus.
"You come any closer and I slit her throat." Razor said and Lazarus sighed before crossing his arms.
"You really shouldn't be using her as leverage. She doesn't like that." Lazarus told him and he looked at him confused. Razor howled in pain when he was electrocuted off of Tsunami and Lazarus walked over before looking down at him. "You also shouldn't be afraid of me. She's way scarier." He said and Tsunami glared at Razor before freezing his limbs to the ground.
"You son of a—"Lazarus didn't let Razor finish before grabbing his head and slamming it against the ground, knocking him unconscious. Lazarus stood back up before looking at Tsunami and smiling.
"Thanks for the assist, Tusi." Lazarus told her and Tsunami just smiled back at him.
"You should probably let Ivy heal that." Tsunami said pointing to the wound on his arm with a trail of blood.
"Oh right. Forgot about that." He said and Tsunami shook her head. Renegade blocked Joseph from tackling him and grabbed Joseph underneath his arms before slamming him on the ground. The reason Renegade decided to fight Joseph and not Cassandra was because his power didn't really have an effect on him. Renegade's power of energy draining almost had a neutralizing effect on Joseph's power to drain life. Joseph quickly realized this when he first tried to knock Renegade out and Renegade leveled him. Basically, they were both on level playing grounds.
Renegade dodged one of Joseph's punches and ducked when he tried to punch him again. He grabbed Joseph's arm and pulled making Joseph lose his balance. However, Joseph dropped to the ground to avoid Renegade's hit and punched the back of Renegade's knee. Renegade stumbled, giving Joseph enough time to get back onto his feet. He grabbed the hood on Renegade's sweatshirt and pulled back, but Renegade turned and landed a punch on Joseph's stomach.
"You fucking asshole!" Joseph growled and Renegade blocked his punch before twisting his arm behind his back. Renegade grabbed his other arm and held it against his back as well before shoving Joseph to the floor. Joseph grunted when his face was pressed against the floor and rain continued to pelt the both of them.
"Um, was Renegade always this kickass?" Lauren asked and Alana shrugged her shoulders. Shade looked over at him and narrowed his eyes while he watched Renegade easily block, counter, and take down Joseph in the matter of minutes. Everybody in the group was a decent fighter, but Renegade looked trained and calculated. That—and the fact that Cheka somehow knew Renegade—didn't sit well with him. Renegade knew more than he let on, but what that was, was a mystery to Shade.
Renegade pinched a nerve on Joseph's neck immediately knocking him out. Renegade lifted Joseph up and walked over to dump him next to Jared. He turned to check on Serenity and saw that she had the situation with Cassandra handled. He looked back at the group to see that they were all staring at him.
"What?" He asked.
"Uh…care to explain how you learned to do all that shit?" Conner asked and Renegade rolled his eyes. Serenity punched Cassandra across the face and kicked her in the chest making her stagger on her feet.
"You stupid bitch! You ruined everything!" Cassandra shouted and Serenity dodged her before firing off a Chaos Spear at Cassandra. She took the blow and now had a large burn mark on her hip.
"You're done, Cassandra. Face it." Serenity told her and Cassandra glared at her. Cassandra punched Serenity in the stomach angrily before retracting her fist back and punching Serenity's jaw. Serenity caught her fist and shoved Cassandra away before sweeping her leg across Cassandra's feet. Cassandra hit the ground and growled loudly when Serenity pressed her foot to her back.
"It's over." Serenity said firmly and Cassandra frowned. Cassandra turned to see what the group was doing and missed Cassandra grabbing several of Razor's blades that laid near her. Cassandra flexed her back up which caused Serenity to stumble backwards. Cassandra whirled around and threw the blades at Serenity.
"Chaos Warp!" Serenity shouted as a purple wave expelled from her pausing the blades in the air. They fired back towards Cassandra and she hissed as she got sliced several times.
"No way! She learned to do that?" Ebony gasped while Shade stared at Serenity wide-eyed. Cassandra held her arm while she kneeled on the ground. She glared up at Serenity while she walked her way over. Serenity grabbed the back of her head and slammed her head into her knee, effectively knocking her unconscious. Serenity dragged her over and looked over at Renegade.
"So," Serenity paused. "What now?" She asked.
"Well, we need to get your parents to a hospital. Their G.U.N. agents so I'm sure they'll have somewhere for these guys." Renegade said looking at the unconscious group of lackluster villains. Ivy was completely wiped from running around and healing everyone while also defending herself against Rebecca. She would heal the parents and the injuries she didn't get a chance to heal, but she was about to collapse. Flash was practically carrying her through the jungle while they made their way to the hospital.
"I say we should not have another super giant fight for the next ten years." Bolt mumbled staring at himself in the camera on his phone. He had a busted lip and some minor burns on him, but he was happy he didn't have a black eye. The children were all in the waiting room while their parents got treated. To say it was hard to explain to the doctors and nurses what happened would be an understatement, but the doctors treated them anyways.
"I agree." Shawn sighed while Flash sat next to him signing his cast. Reese hadn't been so kind to Shawn and managed to break his arm in their fight.
"I swear I still have water in my ear." Lauren muttered banging the side of her head to try to get the water out.
"We could be in worse shape." Izzy said while she leaned against Julian.
"It's all because of this guy!" Julian smiled brightly wrapping his arm around Renegade's shoulders. Renegade frowned at him, but didn't dare shove him off with a sleeping Luca in his lap.
"Like I could've done better than rest of you." Renegade waved his hand dismissively before looking at Julian. "Well, maybe you." He smirked and Julian rolled his eyes.
"Seriously Renegade. You did great. Without you we might have just gone in there blind and angry." Derek told him and Renegade shrugged.
"It really wasn't much guys." He muttered.
"Quit being so modest!" AJ exclaimed.
"I just realized we missed our flight home." Lilac muttered as she watched the sunrise. They were all supposed to leave this morning and still being at the hospital wasn't a good sign.
"Woo! Longer vacation!" Roddy cheered and Hydro rolled his eyes.
"Please, our parents will probably get the first flight home when we get out of here." Hydro told him and Roddy frowned.
"Yes, bask in the glory of the hospital while you still can." Andrew muttered while Hydro chuckled.
"How long do we have of summer left?" Lazarus asked while Tsunami laid across his lap, fast asleep.
"About two months." AJ told him and Lazarus sighed.
"We didn't even do anything that great." Lazarus muttered while Shade stared at him incredulously.
"We saved our parents and brought down the group that has been giving us shit all year." Shade said and Lazarus shrugged.
"Yeah, nothing great." Lazarus muttered and Shade rolled his eyes.
"Uh…Echidna, Solari, Storm, Mondair, Romaro—forget it. That huge group?" A nurse asked and everybody stood up. "You may visit your parents now." She told them and led them up to the ward where their parents were. Bolt and Hailey stared at the door of the room that held their parents a little unsure. Bolt took a deep breath before opening the door. Winter and Spark were laying in separate beds with some bandages, but overall, looked fine.
"I'm so sorry!" Hailey cried before rushing over to Winter. Spark was still sleeping in his bed, but Winter was wide awake.
"Don't you guys go blame yourselves now! We were brainwashed and if you didn't beat us up we would have and I know that would be a decision I would regret for all my life." Winter told her brushing Hailey's hair back and away from her face.
"Is the baby okay?" Hailey asked nervously.
"Perfectly healthy. He's a fighter." Winter told her and Hailey smiled brightly.
"It's a boy?" She asked and Winter nodded before Hailey rushed to hug her Mom again.
"Bolt…" Spark groaned and Bolt rushed over to his side.
"What is it, Dad?" He asked and Spark turned his head towards Bolt.
"O-O—"Spark stuttered and Bolt leaned closer.
"What Dad? O-what?" Bolt asked and Spark slowly opened his eyes.
"Oreos." Spark whispered and Bolt dropped his head and chuckled.
"Yeah, I got them Dad." He told him pulling a packet out and Spark quickly sat up.
"Sweet!" Spark shouted and ripped the packet open.
"Sorry for beating the shit out of you, Dad." Bolt said and Spark scoffed.
"You just got lucky. It was that mind control crap that made me weaker. You would've gone down like a ton of bricks if I was regular me." He muffled out through a mouthful of Oreos while Bolt shook his head.
"Whatever you say Dad." Bolt smirked. Serenity, Ebony, and Shade stood outside of Shadow and Amy's room nervously before Serenity opened the door slowly.
"Hey Dad, Mom." Serenity said walking in with Shade and Ebony behind her. Shadow's eyes shined with relief as he looked at his children.
"Oh thank God, you are all okay." Amy smiled and Serenity walked over to her and hugged her.
"I didn't hit you too hard, right?" Shadow asked and Shade smiled.
"Nah, I was being pretty defensive against your offense." He told him and Shadow grinned.
"Well, that's a change of pace." Shadow told him and Shade nodded. "That Cheka kid, he saved you?" He asked quietly while the girls talked to Amy.
"Yeah, I wasn't really sure if you saw that." Shade murmured.
"Well, the whole time it seemed like I was fighting one of Robotnik's robots and that was faulty right there because my conscious kept arguing saying how this couldn't be possible, but that shit they filled us with was strong. So when he pushed you out of the way, everything snapped back to reality and I saw him push you out of the way." Shadow explained and Shade nodded slowly.
"Yeah, he—he was a confusing guy, but he was good." Shade told him.
"I'm sorry about him, Shade." Shadow told him earnestly and Shade patted Shadow on the shoulder.
"Not your fault, Dad. He knew what he was signing up for way before you even knew what was happening." Shade told him and Shadow narrowed his eyes in confusion. "Told you, he was a confusing guy." He grinned.
"Who did you fight?" Amy asked Serenity after discussing her fight with Ebony.
"I fought Cassandra." Serenity shrugged.
"But get this! Serenity did Dad's move!" Ebony exclaimed and Shadow sat up.
"What?" He asked.
"She did Chaos Warp." Shade told him and Serenity sheepishly rubbed her arm.
"You did?" Amy asked proudly and Serenity smiled.
"Yeah…it kind of just happened." She said and Shadow smiled before leaning back in his bed.
"At least one of my children is taking after me." Shadow said and Shade snorted while Ebony glared at him. Julian led his massive group of siblings to their parents' room. He opened the room and quickly dodged a flying Jell-O cube.
"You're lucky I'm stuck in this bed! I'm totally disowning you! How could you beat up your own Father? The person who gave you life!" Todd shouted and Julian gaped at him.
"I'm sorry Dad! It was the only way to stop you! I didn't want to hurt you!" Julian stammered and Todd chuckled.
"See! I can still get you!" Todd smirked and Julian glared at him.
"That was so not funny!" Julian exclaimed and Juliana jumped onto Todd's bed.
"Daddy! Daddy! Guess what!" Juliana smiled brightly.
"Hmm, chicken butt?" Todd grinned while the entirety of his family didn't look even the slightest bit amused. "Oh c'mon! That's a classic!" He exclaimed while AJ just shook his head.
"Alex and I have powers!" Juliana exclaimed and Todd's eyes widened.
"It's true. Every time they have some sort of contact with each other they can look into the future." AJ told Todd and Jillian and Todd smiled proudly.
"Oh cool! I want to see!" He said and Juliana hopped down before she grabbed Alex's hand. Their eyes flashed white before they looked up to Todd.
"Silver is going to dump a bucket of something on you later." Alex told him and Todd smirked.
"I suddenly understand the reason to have children now." He said while Suzy rolled her eyes. Suzy looked over to Jillian who was rocking Alena back and forth.
"You okay, Mom?" She asked and Jillian smiled at her.
"I'm fine. Nothing to fuss over." She said waving her hand in the air. Suzy smiled at her Mom and looked over to see the twins being held by her Dad while AJ regaled his tale about beating up Jared and Julian poked holes in his story. Yup, this was her family and she loved it. Luna and Reese watched as their children walked in one by one.
"Man, I really roughed you up!" Reese shouted eyeing Shawn's cast.
"Nothing compared to what I did to you." He mumbled looking at Reese's wrapped head.
"Some brain damage, no big deal." He shrugged and they all gaped at him. "God, you guys should see your face! There's no brain damage!" Reese exclaimed and Shawn sighed in relief.
"I didn't hurt you too bad, right?" Luna asked looking over Lauren.
"No, I'm all right. Maybe a little bit of swimmer's ear, but I'm good." Lauren told her and Luna smiled before gasping and looking at Ginger.
"Oh God, I almost forgot about the wedding!" Luna exclaimed. Ginger and Derek were supposed to get married the week after they returned, but this threw a wrench into their plans.
"Don't worry Mom, we'll tell everybody it's been pushed back." Ginger shrugged and Luna raised her hand.
"None of this. I have a better idea. We'll tell everybody the wedding is going to be here." She smiled and Ginger looked at her shocked.
"You mean here, as in Hawaii?" She asked and Luna nodded smiling. "Oh wow…" She said when suddenly her phone rang. "Hello?" She answered and Amy's voice blasted through the phone speaker.
"We have so much to do! Get us all out of this hospital now! We have to have your dress sent here and the cake! We have to call all these people and find a location." Ginger threw her phone to her Mom and the children left to get all the rest of the group. All the parents were in the waiting room signing their discharge papers. Shadow and Rouge already made all the necessary calls to G.U.N. to have some agents pick up Cassandra and the rest. They were going to go to prison for a long, long time. Renegade was walking back from the bathroom with Alana when the parents looked at him.
"Renegade!" They all shouted startling Renegade and Alana.
"We've been hearing great things about you." Static said and Renegade rubbed the back of his neck.
"I'm going to go find Izzy." Alana muttered and Renegade grabbed her hand.
"Please don't leave me alone here." He whispered and Alana smiled.
"I'm sorry, but I really think Izzy needs me." She said and Renegade scowled at her.
"So you led the group and apparently you're a really kick-ass fighter." Knuckles said and Renegade rubbed the back of his head.
"Uh…yeah. They all nominated me." He mumbled before Sonic threw an arm around his shoulders before looking around to see if the children were distracted.
"We want to thank you Renegade. You really brought them together and saved our asses." Sonic told him while Renegade shook his hands in front of him.
"Oh, it's not really necessary. You guys are all like parents to me. It's fine." Renegade told them and Midnight bounced over to him.
"C'mon, there's got to be something you want from us." Midnight smiled and Renegade looked down.
"It's no big deal. Really." He reiterated and Reese smirked.
"Too late! I already know it!" Reese exclaimed and Renegade looked up at him.
"You don't have to do it! Really!" He shouted.
"Too bad! It's going to happen. Let's go guys. We got some calls to make." Spark said while all of them started to leave the hospital. Renegade sighed and Alana took his hand.
"It couldn't have been that bad." Alana said and Renegade shook his head.
"Just a normal life. That's all I'm asking." He muttered while Alana laughed.
