Author's Note: SURPRISE!
Finn's bandmates gave him a confused expression as he got up from the table and caught Rachel walking towards the back. She groaned as she saw her freakishly tall neighbor walk towards her.
She put her tray down since it was time for her lunch break and sighed, "No Finn, you can't have a discount just because I'm your neighbor", she didn't know what he was about to say, but she knew it had to be something stupid or silly.
Finn gave her a little smirk, but then turned serious. "Look, I know you hate my guts but, my band and me we're um kind of in a bad situations", he looked down at the small brunette girl who was looking up at him with disinterest.
"It's my band and I, but what does this have to do with me exactly?" She crossed her arms and looked at the time. She really needed to meet Santana at the café soon to go over what casting calls were open for her to audition for, but of course, Finn was using up her precious lunch break time.
Finn usually wasn't the type of guy to get nervous but, he really needed Rachel. He knew he had only heard her sing once, but her singing that song about parades or something had been stuck in his head all day. She had a gift and from what he's heard her say, she hadn't been able to showcase it the way she wanted to. He took a deep breath as he noticed Rachel getting impatient, "Would you consider auditioning to be the lead singer of our band?"
Rachel started giggling, "You're joking right? Me? In a band? What kind of singer do you think I am? I'm not the type of girl who sings with a bunch of guys in a bar, I've been trained to sing on BROADWAY", she crossed her arms, scoffing a little. She felt so insulted that he wanted her highly trained singing voice to be in the frontline of his silly band. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have Broadway shows to audition for", she walked out and towards the café that wasn't too far away. She knew the way she acted was a little harsh, but it wasn't like they were nice to each other to begin with.
Finn sighed, he was honestly surprised at how harshly she rejected his offer. He knew he'd been kind of a dick to her since they met, but he was hoping she would at least consider it. He went back to sit at the table with his guys, shaking his head. "It's not gonna work guys, we're going to need to hold auditions", the guys nodded.
Rachel walked into the café and immediately saw Santana sitting at a table, her thumbs moving quickly on her phone. She noticed Santana already had her coffee order sitting across from her, Rachel immediately knew something was wrong. "Okay San, what's going on? You only already get my coffee order when you're about to give me bad news", she looked at her. Santana looked up from her phone and sighed.
"Look, Rach, I've tried but there's nothing out there for you right now", Santana looked at her friend gently. Santana knew how hard Rachel worked and she hated seeing her friend struggling to find work in something she was so passionate about. "Not even any off Broadway shows."
Rachel looked down, she was so tired of the rejection or just not being good enough. She worked her ass off in high school and college to achieve her dream and here she was living in New York City waitressing at a tiny bar in Manhattan for alcoholics and creeps. She had always told herself to never give up, but she just couldn't let this happen. She got up from the table and walked out.
"Rachel? Where are you going? Rach?" Santana got up from the table, looking confused as ever as she walked outside, seeing her best friend walking towards the bar. She sighed, assuming Rachel was just upset like she usually got when this happened.
Rachel walked into the bar and straight towards the group of guys Finn was sitting with, "When do I audition?"
