Author Notes: Hola everybody! This is Alex the DragonCrafter and this time I bring you yet another chapter of Lost! This chapter is interesting to say the least, as I completely crush the original ending of Digital Adventure 02. Why? Because I freaking can! From this point on, the action quickens and the plot thickens. I am sure you will enjoy this chapter, so leave a review about it!

Humans walk for various reasons. They walk so they can think about their problems, they walk to calm themselves down after something agitated them. However, most of the times they fail to notice that each walk they take is a step in their life.

LOST

Chapter 4: Swamp and foes

While the rest of the Children were fighting in the Human World and discovered they couldn't anymore enter the Digital World, Daisuke was facing problems of his own; lesser than the rest but no less troubling.

"This is disgusting!" yelled Daisuke, looking at the muddy water at his feet.

"Hey, at least you have shoes! I walk barefoot here!" commented V-mon and glared at his partner. Daisuke sighed; they had managed to get past about half the swamp while flying with XV-mon but when his partner grew tired of the long journey, they had to land and continue on foot. Something that both found really annoying and disgusting.

"Come on, let's keep this pace for a while; I want to get out of this damn swamp today if possible." said Daisuke and took a few careful steps, trying to find a less muddy place to walk on. V-mon shrugged but followed him. After a while, Daisuke found V-mon's moans and shrugs and muttering equally annoying with the swamp. Instead of wasting energy of telling the Digimon off, Daisuke felt it was better to walk in silence. At least they were walking.

Soon he noticed that they were walking, but also they were wandering. Daisuke tried to find the right words to tell his partner about it, but only one could clearly tell their situation right now. V-mon who also noticed it, turned to glare at him.

"We are lost. Good going Daisuke! You managed to get us lost!"

"Hey, it's not my fault! How can one find his way through this damn swamp? Let see you try V-mon!"

"If I knew the way, I would go that way!"

"If you don't know the way either, just walk and hope we find our way through!"

"With you guiding us? We will have better luck in-"

V-mon suddenly stopped. For a moment, Daisuke was about to ask what was wrong but his ears caught a noise. Wings flapping? No, it sounded more like insect buzzing...

Suddenly and without warning besides the endless buzz, at least thirty insect Digimon attacked them from all directions.

"Yanmamon!" roared V-mon.

Yanmamon! An Adult Data Insect type Digimon! Yanmamon mostly live in swamps and are always travelling in a pack! Its special attack is Buzz Noise, a destructive noise that comes from their wings and confuse the victim's senses!

"Damn! V-mon! Can you evolve?" yelled Daisuke pulling his D3.

"I will try! Use the Digimental of Courage Daisuke!"

"Got it! Digimental Up!" yelled Daisuke, also drawing his Terminal.

"V-mon! Armor Shinka! Burning Courage, Fladramon!"

Fladramon used his Fire Knuckle to push aside the many Yanmamon but there were still too many to handle with one shot. Soon the battle turned into a complete disadvantage for Daisuke and Fladramon. When they lost all hope of winning and tried to find a way to get out of the pinch, a roar was heard that echoed throughout the swamp. suddenly, a humanoid Digimon made its appearance. It wore a large black cloak and two fangs were growing out from his face. Daisuke had a feeling he knew that Digimon but couldn't identify it. The newcomer faced the Yanmamon without fear and raised his hand, where a red whip appeared.

"Bloody Stream!"

The Yanmamon turned into bits of data as the whip passed them through. Fladramon took an offensive stance.

"Vamdemon!" he yelled.

"What!?" yelled Daisuke. Yes, he had forgotten about it. Now he realized why that tall Digimon seemed familiar. Three years ago, he and his family were captives at Big Sight, the building that Vamdemon chose to become his stronghold.

Vamdemon! A Perfect Virus type Digimon! Vamdemon entered the Human World three years ago in order to kill the eight Chosen Child and become the ruler of both worlds! However he was defeated by Angewomon and Angemon! He managed to resurrect into VenomVamdemon but WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon managed to kill him again! His special attacks are Bloody Stream and Night Raid!

"Get him Fladramon!" roared Daisuke. Vamdemon rose his arm.

"Please. I don't wish to battle with you." he said.

"And we are supposed to believe this?" said Fladramon, narrowing his eyes. Vamdemon crossed his arms.

"Then at least think this. If I wanted to kill you, wouldn't I let those Yanmamon do the work for me? Or attack you while you were distracted? No, I saved you because I need you. I need your help Motomiya Daisuke." said Vamdemon and looked Daisuke in the eye.

"And why would you need my help? Or better yet, why should we help you?"

"Because I can get you through the Misty Trees. And get you near your Crest." smartly replied Vamdemon with a smile.

"Daisuke! Don't trust him!" yelled Fladramon and jumped in the air. Fire covered his whole body as he yelled: "Fire Rocket!" The attack would have hit Vamdemon, who made no sign of attacking back or going out of the way if not for someone who jumped in front of Vamdemon and the attack.

"My Lady!" shrieked Vamdemon in agony and in fear. Fladramon jumped back, dumbfounded. Another humanoid Digimon made its appearance. It resembled a lot Vamdemon but Daisuke noticed she was a female version of him. However, she looked really sick and weak.

"Lady OjouVamdemon! Please open your eyes!" yelled again Vamdemon.

Digimon Analyzer

OjouVamdemon! A Perfect Virus type Digimon! OjouVamdemon is usually married to a powerful Vamdemon and raises small Virus type Digimon! Her special attacks are Bloody Spear and Nightmare Lullaby!

"What's wrong with her?" asked Daisuke.

"My Lady got sick due to an evil virus. She got infected during an attack from a human, just like you. He commanded an army of Digimon and attacked our mansion, the Grey Lord Mansion. OujoVamdemon tried to protect small Gikamon. She paid a terrible price. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't get the virus out of her body. That's why I need you. Maybe your holy Digivice is able to restore the Lady's health back to normal." said Vamdemon.

"Let me try!" yelled Daisuke and pulled out his D3. Fladramon however stepped in front.

"Daisuke! We can't trust him! What guarantee do we have that they won't attack us when we treat her?" he said. Daisuke couldn't really disagree with him. OjouVamdemon raised her head and spoke in an almost whispering voice.

"Leave me be.. But please! Save the Gikamon!" she said with great effort. Even Fladramon couldn't argue after that. However, he didn't take his eyes out of Vamdemon. Daisuke walked in front and knelt besides the sick Digimon. He pointed his D3 towards her. A bright light came out, unlike the evolution light. Suddenly, OjouVamdemon opened her mouth and something dark emerged. It looked like a capsule of sorts.

"The Dark Capsule…" said Vamdemon, starting in bewilderment. Oujo stood up slowly but steadily. She smiled at Daisuke and took his arms into hers.

"Thank you Daisuke. Now I can go back and fight! I will save Gikamon!" she said and actually made to leave but Vamdemon stopped her.

"Stop my Lady! You are still weak! I will go and fight them!" he said.

"But Vamdemon! You can't possibly go on your own! There are far too many for you!" protested Oujo.

"Still, I will go. I will make them suffer for making you ill!"

"Sorry to interrupt but.." started Daisuke. Vamdemon stood up.

"Right. I promised you that I will get you to your Crest. I swear that I will do so, after I am done with this." he said.

"Well, that too but.."

"The Grey Lord Mansion is just near. I will be back shortly."

"Would you shut up for a sec?" roared Daisuke. He really didn't like people who didn't listen to him. Vamdemon turned to him.

"We will help you save those Gikamon. Then you will lead me to the Crest. I still don't know whether it's mine, but I have to go and check." said Daisuke.

"I agree. Where Daisuke goes, I go." said Fladramon and reverted back to V-mon.

"No! I can't let you come with me! I must atone for my sins alone! This is my punishment for invading your world in an attempt to kill Yagami Hikari!"

"I said shut up already! Well, we will need a ride either way. How far is the place?" asked Daisuke.

"The Mansion is close by. However, you would have to travel at least an hour to get there. And we don't have that much time." said Oujo and brought her hands to her chest.

"Then how are we going to get there?" asked V-mon.

"Just wait and see."

Oujo started singing then. It was probably the most beautiful voice Daisuke had ever heard. It was truly pleasing to hear such a song, it soothed his ears and heart. Then, a large Digimon appeared, dragging alongside him a cart.

"Airdramon!" exclaimed Daisuke.

Digimon Analyzer

Airdramon! An Adult Data type Digimon! Airdramon is able to lift up to much weight and fly dragging it behind! Its special attack is Air Sphere!

"Now, get in please." said Oujo. Vamdemon, unable to disagree in any way, lifted his shoulders in defeat and walked in. He helped OujoVamdemon get in and Daisuke and his partner jumped inside. Airdramon soon flew away in an amazing speed.

"This is amazing!" yelled V-mon in surprise.

"Look how fast we are traveling!" yelled in the same tone Daisuke. Vamdemon coughed. Daisuke turned to him.

"First I must inform you of our enemies. The enemy has a small group of Devidramon, one DeathMeramon, one SkullGreymon and lastly, the human with a V-mon on his side." said Vamdemon.

"What? V-mon?" asked Daisuke in an outmost surprise.

"Indeed. At first, I thought that you were the one attacking us. I have heard that a Chosen Child has a V-mon as his partner. And V-mon are really rare Digimon; they have gone extinct for over some years now. But when I saw Fladramon, I was sure that you were the Chosen, not him." explained Vamdemon. Daisuke remained silent, trying to have the new information sink in. He noticed the Airdramon changing their course after a while, so he tilted his head in question.

"We don't want to get noticed right now. We shall try a surprise attack." said OujoVamdemon. Vamdemon turned to her.

"My Lady, I am afraid I cannot let you-" he started.

"And I am afraid I cannot let myself hear you my Lord. I am perfectly fine, if you count out the fact that I am angered at this moment." interrupted Oujo politely.

"How about you two continue this later? We have company." said Daisuke when he saw Vamdemon ready to argue with this. All four turned and saw six Devidramon flying towards them. Airdramon tried to shake them off but the Devidramon followed suit.

"We are at a disadvantage on air." said Vamdemon calmly.

"V-mon! Try and distract those guys while we land!" yelled Daisuke, who didn't share Vamdemon's calmness.

"Right! V-mon Shinka! XV-mon!"

The blue dinosaur Digimon jumped from the cart and flew decisively after the Devidramon.

"X-Laser!" he roared, firing a beam towards the Devidramon. The black Digimon dodged it and smirked.

Devidramon! An Adult Virus devil type Digimon! Devidramon is a formidable opponent in air! Its special attack is Devil Eye, a beam that shoots from his four eyes!

"Devil Eye!" roared the many Devidramon. XV-mon managed to dodge them but with great effort. Meanwhile, Airdramon landed safely. Cutting the ropes that were tying him to the cart, Airdramon flew to help XV-mon.

"Air Sphere!"

The attack caught off guard the Devidramon, but they managed to recover quickly. XV-mon flew low now, so the other two Digimon could be able to fight in ease. Airdramon had a different thought though.

"My Lord! My Lady! Daisuke! XV-mon! Go ahead please! I will take care of things here!" he yelled.

"We can't let you be Airdramon! We will fight too!" yelled Oujo.

"My Lady! If we waste time here, we don't know what could happen to Gikamon! Besides, in the battles that will follow little I will be able to do to aid you! Please!"

"I understand. I will leave this to you then Airdramon." said Vamdemon and dragged OujoVamdemon with him. The group rushed but they were stopped by two more Digimon. This time however, they were all Perfects.

DeathMeramon! A Perfect Virus Digimon! DeathMeramon's strength lies in his deadly fire and chain! His special attack is Death Fiery Chain!

SkullGreymon! The dark evolution of Greymon! A Perfect Undead Virus Digimon! His special attack is Skull Missile!

"Bloody Stream!"

"Nightmare Lullaby!"

The two vampire Digimon attacked instantly. SkullGreymon didn't even winch while DeathMeramon merely stepped to the side.

"My Lady! Daisuke! Go on ahead!" said the ever calm Vamdemon.

"But!"

"NOW my Lady!" roared Vamdemon in a tone that even Oujo couldn't argue with. She, XV-mon and Daisuke continued on their way. Daisuke's mind was racing. Despite OujoVamdemon's assurance that she was better, she was still breathing heavily. She really wasn't in any position to fight. If however their next opponent was a Perfect, they would be in trouble. The key to V-mon's evolution was still not on his hands after all. Without the Crest, he couldn't make XV-mon evolve to his next stage.

"OujoVamdemon! Is this the mansion?" asked the obvious Daisuke, since in front of him a large castle could be seen. Oujo nodded and charged in front. Before Daisuke could stop her, she had eagerly pushed the doors aside and jumped in. Scratching his head, Daisuke made to follow. However, a howl in pain made him turn. Daisuke turned to look at his partner, who made that sound.

"XV-mon!"

His Digimon partner was lying on the ground. He didn't look hurt, just surprised really from the sudden attack. Daisuke tried to locate their enemy. It didn't take long. A V-mon just like his could be seen. Besides him, a kid Daisuke's age stood. His clothing was rather simple, just a blue T-shirt and jeans, wearing a red hat. His eyes rested on the other's hands, where a grey D3 could be seen.

"Who are you?" asked Daisuke.

"You can call me Ivan." His accent made Daisuke realize that he wasn't Japanese.

"Indeed, I am from Russia. Unfortunately, I am on strict orders to kill anyone who approaches this mansion. However, if you were to leave now, I will let you live." said Ivan who noticed Daisuke's piece of mind. Daisuke however growled and shook his head. Vamdemon had asked his help. Daisuke couldn't really leave him there.

"I will say the same to you! Get out of here now! Why did you attack this place in the first place?" yelled Daisuke.

"It was my master's orders. I have nothing else to say. Leave, or die." steadily said Ivan.

"XV-mon! Let's get this guy!" yelled Daisuke. Ivan sighed, as if in sadness. He pointed his D3 towards his V-mon. V-mon opened his mouth and a really deep voice came out.

"V-mon Shinka! Veedramon!"

"What? Veedramon?" asked Daisuke, staring at the new Digimon. It was a much bigger version of V-mon, resembling a dinosaur just like XV-mon did. However, the Veedramon seemed far more powerful than XV-mon in brute force.

Veedramon! An Adult Vaccine dinosaur type Digimon! Veedramon is the alternate evolution of V-mon! Veedramon is the protector of the weak and the enemy of evil! Veedramon is considered as on of the strongest Digimon, however extinct! His special attack is V Ray Arrow!

"There are two different charts for V-mon's evolution. It's funny really. The two different evolutions of V-mon's will fight each other. However, it's us who will emerge as the victors!" said Ivan.

"Don't be so sure about that! Go! XV-mon!"

XV-mon flew immediately towards Veedramon, ready to overpower him. Veedramon remained still and he accepted the collision from XV-mon, his cousin. However, he didn't as much flinch. His body was thrown aback a bit, but other than that nothing could tell that XV-mon had just flew towards him with all his might. With a calm maneuver, Veedramon grabbed XV-mon left arm, lifted him in the air and tossed him towards the mansion. The wall broke as XV-mon passed through the brick wall.

"XV-mon!" roared Daisuke, running towards his friend.

"Daisuke! He is really strong!" said XV-mon, trying to get up.

The pair looked at the overwhelming Digimon in front of them. Could they win against this giant?
