Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon. If I did, I would be sitting around in Hawaii ordering drinks and hitting on girls rather than sitting in my room and writing this story.
Author Notes: Holy molly! Guess who is back! Back again! Yes guys, LOST makes a return again to this wonderful site!
In order to be entirely truthful, I didn't plan to continue this one. First I just stopped writing about it then I was too busy with other stuff. However, I saw that people, even after it's been so long, they were still looking at this story and liked it. So I decided to finish this one, for their sake. I don't know whether I will return fully to writing stories, but at the very least, I want to finish this one. So THREE years after the last chapter, here is the continuation of LOST. Hope you enjoy this one folks! Also make sure to leave a comment or something, in later chapters I will allow folks putting their own characters in! There are actually characters that can be utilized, a few humans, a lot of Digimon and more! Also please check my Profile Page for more information about pretty much everything! Thanks folks! It was thanks to YOU that I decided to get back! YOU are the reason Lost makes a return. Thank you for supporting this story!
If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't follow. I'd be at the bottom to catch them when they fall.
LOST
Chapter 8: Airdramon's will
Airdramon knew better than anyone the truth; he wasn't as strong as his Lord, not as strong as Daisuke, who would get up and continue his battle. Not as strong as Leomon who would fight justice with nothing to ask back. Not as strong as Beowulfmon who was fighting the enemy boss so no one else would be endangered by meeting him. He was, truly, a weak Digimon. He chose to fight the Digimon who looked weaker. Because he feared for his life, because he thought he shouldn't die at such a place. That's the real reason he decided to help Yukidarumon.
But was he always that weak? Airdramon couldn't help but remember living at his village, where he would always follow the stronger. By searching for the strongest, he landed on Vamdemon. He decided to follow that Digimon, even to the ends of the world.
But now, he was regretting his decision. He wasn't part of the Digital Army; in fact, he didn't care what happened to this world as long as he was safe. So, was he always such a coward?
Airdramon couldn't answer. Then he dodged a vicious rock thrown by Meteormon.
"Cosmo Flash!" yelled Meteormon. Airdramon perfectly dodged it, but it hit Yukidarumon, who immediantly perished into data. Airdramon didn't feel sorry. In fact, he felt happy it wasn't him.
It also created the perfect chance.
"Air Blast!"
The air sphere hit Meteormon, who vanished into bits of data. Now it was over. He done his part in this war. Now no one would ever accuse of him for choosing the weakest opponent, since he managed to destroy him.
"I see my soldier was killed. A pity." a voice was heard. Airdramon turned to see Cerberumon.
"A pity you say? I don't that's it. I don't see or hear any pity coming from you." said Airdramon.
"That is correct. I have no pity to show weaklings. My job is to serve my master. If one is weak to do so, he will be better off dead." replied Cerberumon.
Digimon Analyzer
Cerberumon! Perfect Level Vaccine! Cerberumon is a Demon Beast type Digimon! He is said to guard the Digital Prison, where very dangerous Digimon are imprisoned! His special attack is Hell Fire!
"Tell me Airdramon, why fight me when you can join me? I am strong. My master is even stronger. He will kill Beowulfmon is no time. Then the rest of this army will perish. Will you perish alongside them? Or will you live on and serve my master?" said Cerberumon.
Airdramon thought about it. Truly, Belphemon's force was way stronger than Beowulfmon's. Not only that, another Digital Captain, Deathmon was coming this way. There was no false hope of being able to survive both attacks. However, he knew he would die either way; Belphemon wouldn't take chances.
"I refuse. I can leave the battlefield if you let me do so but I won't join you." replied Airdramon.
"Wrong answer Airdramon. Hell Fire!" roared Cerberumon.
Airdramon expected that. He quickly flew back to dodge it. The green flames burned the area around them, completely melting the snow and ice. Airdramon chose to use the hit and run tactic. While in the air, it was easy to storm down Air Blasts at Cerberumon while the doggie was unable to reaech him. That was until Cerberumon decided to something he didn't expect. Jumping really high in the air, he took a deep breath. Airdramon made to dodge by instict but then Cerberumon's true aim was revealed.
His wing.
A powerful bite from Cerberumon tore apart his right wing. Airdramon shrieked off the pain and unable to fly anymore, he fell to the ground.
"See puny little Digimon? None of this would have happened were you to join us. But alas, an idiot will always remain an idiot. Same as the weaklings." said Cerberumon and took a deep breath. Airdramon mustered his last energy to dodge yet another vicious attack from that large Digimon. However it was futile. Now it was a matter of time. Airdramon looked around, searching for his comrades. The MegaSeadramon pair was having enough trouble with the BlueMeramon. Leomon was fighting Panjamon, none of the two gaining the advantage and Daisuke was heading towards the Ice Sanctuary. He smirked. None would help him now.
"So this is the end?" said to himself Airdramon.
Before Cerberumon would fire his deadly attack, Airdramon remembered something from his past. Something he had forgotten…
It was a hot day at the Wind Prairie. The small Airdramon village was doing their everyday work while the children were playing around. Aidramon was no exception. Still unable to fly well, he was learning to fly alongside the other Airdramon.
Then he saw two of his kin fight each other. They were at the same age as he. None of the Airdramon did anything to stop them. Soon the victor was decided. Laughing hard, he helped the loser get up and they resumed playing. Airdramon couldn't understand. Why? Why he was fighting? Was it to prove himself? Was it to show off?
Only later he realized that by fighting and becoming stronger one was able to protect the village. After an attack from the Dark Masters, only a handful Airdramon remained in the village. So by fighting they were becoming stronger. Maybe even evolve to a higher level and protect those they held dear.
But what Airdramon had to protect? Nothing. He was a weakling after all. But then, just in time before Cerberumon fired his attack, a strange power filled him, flying away even with one wing. Cerberumon was surprised.
"You are still able to fly? That's impressive Airdramon." growled Cerberumon.
"I still won't die Cerberumon. Not before I find my answer." replied Airdramon. He fired another Air Blast and although it did nothing to Cerberumon, Airdramon's aim was something else.
"What!?"
Airdramon caused an avalance. It completely covered Cerberumon. He landed softly on the snow, a few meters away from his fallen opponent.
"Is this enough? Answer me Lord Vamdemon, why am I fighting? What I am to protect?" asked aloud Airdramon.
The injured Digimon thought hard. Then he found an answer.
"I am fighting for peace. I am fighting so OujoVamdemon's death won't be in vain. I am fighting so something like this will never happen again. I am fighting for and with, Daisuke and V-mon." he said. Airdramon smiled. That was a satisfying answer.
"This power is what we need Airdramon."
Airdramon looked shocked. He turned to see Cerberumon.. No, he was different.
"What are you now?" he asked.
"CerberumonX. This is the gift bestowed by my Master. The X Antibody. It makes a Digimon grow stronger by having it." replied Cerberumon and laughed hard. "Now, you must realize that you don't have a winning chance. However, I will let you live if you do me a favor. Kill the Chosen Child and that V-mon. He trusts you. It will be easy Airdramon."
Airdramon shook his head.
"No. I will protect Daisuke."
"Then DIE!"
Airdramon knew he didn't have much time. He flew the moment CerberumonX opened his mouth. He entered the mouth and yelled with all his might.
"Air BLAST!"
The air sphere passed through CerberumonX's body. Airdramon fired another one. And then another. At some point, he felt his body burning. He didn't stop. This was to protect Daisuke and V-mon. He fired another.
"How can I lose? HOW!?" roared CerberumonX as he turned into bits. Airdramon started dissapearing, slowly but steadily.
"Daisuke.. I did this without thinking. Does this make me strong now?" were the last words of Airdramon.
Airdramon proved his loyalty. Airdramon proved he was a strong Digimon. Now Airdramon was no more.
Next Time on Lost:
"Mother! I will take on their leader!"
"Now I will show you why our Master, Neo-sama, chose me for this battle!"
"Stingmon. I am counting on you."
