A/N : Thank you all for the kind words. To be honest, couple chapters ago I doubted if I can/want to continue with this story. Luckily, I found the joy and fun of writing this one again. Hope you feel it and enjoy it as well.

Special thanks to Calzonaforever35's wonderful beta work, you are amazing ^_^

Arizona kicked back on her heelys, skated down the hall, and passed by the nurses and doctors at full speed. Normally it wasn't allowed, and she would be in trouble if the chief caught her, but the chief wasn't in the main building right now. Plus everyone knew where the Peds surgeon was headed to and why she was in a hurry, they just stepped aside and let her pass.

Sliding though the double door of the ER, passing the driveway, she arrived on the other side of west wing of SGMW. Without slowing down her speed, she pushed the door open, and crashed right into Owen Hunt. Luckily the former Army doctor was strong enough to catch her so they didn't fall on their butts.

The room was full of people, and no one made a sound or moved a muscle due to the sudden shock. But not even second later, they all roared with laughter.

Porcelain cheeks flushed red with embarrassment and she stood on her feet and straightened her lab coat. Before she could thank Owen for saving her butt, Arizona heard a cough. She looked passed the trauma surgeon's shoulder, and there was the chief of surgery squinting at her.

"I thought I made it clear that you shouldn't run around the hospital in those children shoes, Dr. Robbins." Hearing the chief's voice, Owen stepped aside so the person in trouble was now facing her boss directly.

"I... Sorry sir, I was in a hurry. The emergency surgery went long, I..." Arizona answered sheepishly.

"There's no excuse for speeding, you should know better. Also do you really think we'd start without you?" Webber replaced his frown with a softened smile. Arizona couldn't help popping out her own dimpled smile.

"We are all surgeons, of course we understood it." Bailey walked over to join the duo, a proud smile plastered on her face. "Well, not really all of us are surgeons, but she was entertained by Mark Sloan and Yang over there, I don't think she minds the wait."

Bailey's eyes glanced to the side, the blonde followed her line to find there was her girlfriend sitting on a bed next to Yang, and Mark stood next to her leaning back against the wall. She waved hello, happy to earn a toothy grin in return.

"Still, I am sorry I wasn't here to help. The surgery wasn't even scheduled, now I'm half an hour late. How's everything?"

"Don't worry. Today is more... ceremonial, you know. But umm... O'Malley is not here yet. His flight got delayed. I don't really know his arrival time, and Carol sent Colleen to help for the day." Bailey said casually, glancing around when the admin staff started to prepare for the ceremony. "She is the only one available in such short notice. I hope it's OK."

"Why wouldn't that be ok?" Arizona shrugged a shoulder, looking over the shorter woman she found Colleen and Ann standing side by side next to the registration. Both of them waved to her with a smile.

"Uh-ah. Considering the thing between you and Colleen?"

"Bailey. There was nothing between us." The Peds surgeon laughed out slightly. "And you know I never had any problem in working with the nurses. Can I have a quick minute to talk to Callie?"

Throwing a wink to Bailey over her shoulder, Arizona made a beeline for her girlfriend. The brunette reached out when the doctor made a sharp stop in front of her. She suppressed the urge to kiss the beaming woman on the lips. But instead, she clasped their hands together, and looked up into the blue eyes along with displaying her megawatt smile.

"Congratulations, Dr. Robbins."

"Thank you." Arizona answered with a wider smile. She stroked the hands that were in hers with her thumbs. She wanted to lean down to bite on the full lips so badly, but she knew better than doing that in front of most of the hospital staff, and their boss. "You were waiting for so long? I'm Sorry I was stuck in a surgery."

Before Callie could answer, Cristina chipped in. "Yeah."

Casting a side glance to the resident that lived in her apartment, Callie responded to the blonde. "No problem babe, Mark and Cristina kept me company. We were talking about how Owen stood naked in the living room. That's why he is all the way on the other side of the room." She held up a finger and pointed toward Owen. Arizona, Cristina and Mark all turned to the direction, gazing at Owen with a smirk. The red head sensed the sudden attention, and he knew very well who all were in that direction. He frowned harder, bit his lips into thin line trying to concentrate on the conversation with the chief that he was having.

"Hey, I need to tell you something." Callie tugged the hands slightly to draw the attention of the blonde back to her. "When are you gonna have some spare time?"

"My shift's gonna finish in about an hour, but I think I'll stick around here for a little bit." Arizona raised her eyebrows. "Is everything ok?"

"My father called me about an hour ago. He called the bar asking for me."

Both Mark and Arizona stared at her with open mouths.

"I'm so sorry Callie. Are you OK?" Arizona withdrew a hand to smooth the wavy black hair. Callie leaned into the touch with a deep breath.

"No no, it's a good thing. He called to tell me he is willing to try, he wants to come back in my life." Callie grinned. "We'll talk later when you have time?"

"Sure, I would love…" Arizona was interrupted by a call from behind. She continued after turned around to nod to the person who called. "to talk about this later. I have to go now."

"Go, go be charming." Callie used the free hand to pat on their joint hands. Winking at the surgeon before she turned around to the chief and her co-administrator of the clinic.

"Your father?" The brunette was startled by the sudden question coming from the man next to her. "What happened?"

"Arizona and I saw him in LA, by accident and we argued. Later Arizona went down to him and talked. I don't know what they had talked about but my dad called me. We talked and he really opened up to me this time and I listened." Callie tilted her head, smiled to her best friend. "He's coming in town in few days, just to spend some time with me and catch up. Can you believe it?"

"Wow. That's good news, Callie." Mark pursed his lips, nodding slowly, obviously the wheels in his head were turning.

They locked eyes for a second longer. Callie sighed. "Joe told me."

"Told you what?" Cristina, who was listening in on the conversation asked with curiosity.

Callie leaned back, propped herself up against the bed by her hands, and turned to the Asian woman, "My ex-husband is in town."

"Why?" Cristina asked. "Aren't you going to divorce him?"

"I am, and I already served him the paper. But he just doesn't want to leave me alone." The brunette sighed deeply. They remained silent watching the photographers from the hospital taking pictures of the chief and the 2 doctors, and someone handing a microphone to the boss.

"Are you that good in bed?" Cristina burst out. Both Callie and Mark stared at her with wide eyes. "Well, that must be the reason he wouldn't give up on you, right?"

"That's…absurd, Cristina." Callie exclaimed, and sat up straight. She blushed at the question and her own reaction that caused some staring from the room. "I…"

"I'm just saying." The Asian woman shrugged. "Just like Owen can't stay away from me. I am that good."

"Ha! I wonder if that is the reason why the ortho nurse did everything she could to stick around Robbins." Mark interrupted the two women with a scoff.

Callie tilted her head toward Mark, but the corner of her eye went to Colleen, the nurse who was standing next to Arizona closely, with an arm around the surgeon's slim waist, while the other placed a friendly hand on her shoulder, posing for the group pictures.

"She wasn't the new hire? Arizona told me they hired 2 nurses for the clinic." Now Callie was facing the group fully, the burrow between her eyebrows getting deeper and deeper. "No wonder she looks so familiar to me…"

"You didn't know? They were together for months." Cristina said with a sneer. "They used to do the nasty in the on-call rooms."

"That was the girlfriend before me!" The Latina whispered loudly. "She told me... I don't really remember what she told me. They're still working together? Closely?" She grasped Cristina's skinny knee with a hand, looking at the woman eagerly.

Cristina gave a mocking smile, before she could answer, Mark already spoke up.

"Robbins and Colleen was not really an item. At least that was what she told me. But don't tell me you're jealous of her, because you won't be able to sleep anymore if you know almost half of the nurses in the hospital had slept with the innocent looking Dr. Robbins." The plastic surgeon crossed his arms against his chest, looking at his friend with a lopsided smile. "And Ann over there? Robbins didn't nail her, but her sister. There was one time Robbins drove Ann home after a long day of surgeries, Ann's sister was babysitting…" But his smile fell immediately when he saw Callie's face getting pale, and turned from shock to deadpan in a second.

Cristina sensed the sudden change of mood, and leaned back slightly looking over Callie's head to question the man with a worried face. Mark bit his lips. He knew his big mouth got him in trouble, again.

"Hey, the chief is giving a speech! Chief Webber! Wow!" Mark shouted as loud as he could, clapped as hard as he could, tried to drag the disturbing woman out of her thought.

"Thank you, thank you everyone. Today is a special day of Seattle Grace Mercy West hospital. Today, is the opening of our Wallace Anderson Memorial Pediatrics Clinic. On behalf of the board of the hospital, and thousands of children in the neighborhood who are going to receive proper treatments for their illness, we would like to express our gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Anderson…"

Chief Webber was standing on a small platform giving his speech. The journalists from the local newspapers and hospital newsletter were taking pictures and notes. Staff members of the hospital spread around in the big room, some were concentrated on the speech and some were chitchatting with the person standing next to them quietly. But everyone was coming for one reason.

Standing behind the chief, Bailey and Arizona looked around the clinic, and couldn't help but smile proudly. With the weeks of hard work, they made a decent looking clinic, and everyone agreed with it.

Finishing the speech, Webber walked a couple steps back, and posed for few seconds before he pulled off the big cloth that covered the nameboard. Wallace Anderson Memorial Pediatrics Clinic was officially opened. Everyone clapped and cheered loudly. Bailey and Arizona gave each other a hug, then they turned their embraces to other colleagues who walked over to congratulate them.

Being the temporary staff member in the clinic, Colleen was the first one who shot up to hug the blonde doctor tightly, and lingeringly.

Arizona didn't notice a pair of dark brown eyes glaring at them coldly from afar.

Colleen let go of Arizona eventually. After several more round of hugs, Webber stood in front of the beaming Peds doctor.

"Congratulations, Dr. Robbins." He reached out a hand and Arizona grasped it with her own hand.

"Thank you, sir."

"Dr. Robbins, remember you called me few days ago when you were on holiday? You asked me to check something for Ms. Torres?" Webber asked after they broke the handshake.

"Yes sir, about Callie's record in Miller." The blonde answered, with the smile still on her face.

"I got some answers for you, and I see that Ms. Torres is in here too. I have about 30 minutes before I have to scrub in a surgery. Do you think I can have a talk with you and Ms. Torres?"

"Sure, I think." She quickly glanced around, found that Callie was still in the same spot. "She's right over there."

The two strode toward the Latina and her friends. Cristina stood up straight when she saw the big boss was walking in her direction. Callie stood up as well out of reflection.

Arizona pulled Callie in her arms for a hug as soon as the woman was within her reach. But she was too over the moon to notice Callie didn't hug her back, and didn't see the smile that she got didn't reach the beautiful brown eyes.

"Callie, you remember Dr. Webber, the chief?" Arizona introduced her girlfriend to her boss. They exchanged a handshake.

"Yes sure, congratulations on the clinic, Dr. Webber." The Latina flashed the older doctor a polite smile.

Arizona quickly gave Mark a tight hug in the meantime, she was too happy. The man whispered in her ears before letting go of her.

"What?" She frowned to Mark, but still had the smile on her face.

"I said, I am sorry." He mouthed to her as best as he could. And his pager chose this moment in time to go off. "I have a surgery, I have to go. Congratulations on the clinic, you did a great job. And… Whatever is going to happen, remember I am your friend, and I didn't mean it."

Arizona saw the tall man excusing himself from the chief and Callie, then fled right out of the front door. She made a little grimace then stood back next to her girlfriend. She didn't notice Callie pulling away a little when she put a hand on the small of her back.

"So, Ms. Torres. Dr. Robbins told me something interesting few days ago. Would you mind to have a little talk with me?" Webber asked with a small smile, waiting for Callie to response.

The Latina looked to her side to find the blue eyes gazing at her with a full force dimpled smile. Despite the fact of Arizona talking about her with someone behind her back, and the jealousness rolling in her stomach, she knew better not to make a scene in here - the blonde's workplace and in front of her boss. She plastered a force smile and nodded. "Yea, sure."

"Good." Webber looked around the clinic and found there hadn't been private room in there. "Let's go back to the main building and find a conference room, should we?" The man waved an arm and gestured Callie to go first.

After quickly informing Bailey that she will be in a meeting with the chief and would come back in a bit, Arizona jogged out of the exit to join the chief and her girlfriend. Out of habit, she reached out to clasp her hand with Callie's. Unlike the other times, the brunette didn't tighten the grasp or lace their fingers together. She seemed to be really engaging in the conversation with the chief.

"Do you like the rain in here? It rains a lot in Seattle." Webber joked when they felt the drizzle fell on their heads.

"I like it." Callie raised her head to feel the rain on her face. "You know, I hate it when people who don't live here say that Seattle weather sucks, I think those people suck."

"Good. I like your spirit, Ms. Torres." Webber laughed out. He held the door open for the two ladies. "I hope you don't mind waiting for me for a few minutes, I have to go pick up some papers. Dr. Robbins, can you take Ms. Torres to the conference room down the hall and wait in there?"

As soon as Arizona answered, Webber strode to the elevator and the two women walked the other way to the designated room.

Callie dropped the linked hands daintily. Then she ran her hands through her long black hair and stuck them in her jeans pocket. The Peds surgeon glanced at her with curiosity.

"Are you ok?" Arizona leaned closer, placing a hand on Callie's back, and asking softly as they were walking down the hall.

"You know, I'm fine." Callie responded coldly, walking a bit faster intending to shake off the touch on her back.

Arizona matched her pace, saying nothing but frowned.

Opening the door of the conference room, Arizona let Callie walk through first, and then she shut the door and leaned back against it.

Knowing the blonde was looking at her, Callie walked to the other end of the room, and looked out of the windows like there had been something fascinating outside.

Arizona sighed heavily. She didn't know what had happened. They were fine just minutes ago, but all of a sudden, Callie was obviously giving her the cold shoulder.

"Callie…" No answer. She tried again. "Calliope…"

The brunette whirled around after she heard the intimate name, and looked at her girlfriend from 10 feet away.

"Do not Calliope me." She said after locking her brown eyes with cerulean blue ones."When did you plan to tell me you have your ex-girlfriend working in the clinic with you?"

"Huh?" Arizona's jaw dropped in shock.

"The nurse! All the touching and hugging… and… and… and… looking at you with puppy dog eyes." Callie spoke very quickly and her hands flung around fiercely.

After picking up her jaw from the floor, realizing the badass bartender was jealous, Arizona couldn't help but to grin widely. But it was like putting fuel in the flame.

"Don't laugh at me! Do not laugh at me!" Callie exclaimed angrily. She walked toward the shorter woman, planned to walk past her to exit the room. But Arizona stepped forward to stop the angry and jealous Latina by gripping her by her wrists.

"I am not laughing at you, Calliope. I am laughing because you are jealous. You are jealous of other woman that was touching me." Arizona's dimples displayed, but the brunette chose not to look at her.

"I am not jealous. I am angry." Callie wrestled off the hold on her wrists. "What did you say to Webber? I told you things about me and you shared it with your boss?"

"I…" Arizona was speechless. That wasn't the reaction she expected. She should have talked to Callie before calling the chief, she knew that after she hung up the phone. That was what she was planning to do when she skipped in the hotel. She was going to tell Callie that she called the chief to check about her med school result. But she was distracted by Mr. Torres.

"What did you say …" They were disturbed by a knock on the door. It opened in a split second and there came the chief.

"Sorry it took some time." He eyed the two women. "Umm… is everything alright?"

"Oh yes, everything's just fine." Callie answered after a deep breath. She gave a small smile to the old man and then sat down on one of the chairs, deciding to avoid the piercing blue eyes as long as she could.

Arizona followed the angry woman to sit down next to her. She wanted to explain. She wanted to hold her hands on the table. She wanted to grab her face to kiss her anger away. But she couldn't do either of them because her boss was sitting at the head of the table.

Slumping her shoulders, she raised a hand to rub on her temple. Today was supposed to be a good day.

"Ms. Torres, I think Dr. Robbins already told you the reason I wanted to talk to you." The chief started with a simple opening, hands on the folder he put on the table in front of him.

"No, she didn't." Callie deadpanned, making Webber raise his brows.

"Callie…" The Peds doctor put a hand on Callie's arm, pled by her eyes but brown eyes intended not to look at her. "I am sorry I forgot to tell you, ok? We were busy and things happened after we returned. I didn't mean to…"

Callie rolled her eyes and shook off the hand. "I am sorry Dr. Webber, please go on."

"Ahh… ok." Blinking his eyes a couple times, the chief picked up where he stopped. "Dr. Robbins told me you went to Miller, down in Miami but didn't wait for the final result due to some reason. She didn't say what reason, by the way." The chief said it purposely. Arizona couldn't help to give him a heartful smile. The Latina squinted between the two of them.

"And she asked me to check it out for you."

Callie turned to look at the woman sitting next to her with wide-eyes, who was gazing at her with a sheepish smile.

"You talked about maybe going back to med school, so I called the chief to get your old result from Miller and see the possibility of starting again. Just checking, just to get some information first." Arizona said sincerely. She put her hand on the tan arm once again, hoping the brunette won't chop it off this time. "I just didn't know the chief got the reply so quickly."

"Well, the headmaster of Miller was an old friend of mine. I was glad to have a reason to call her to catch up." The chief smiled and opened the folder in front of him.

Callie took a sharp breath, because she knew the result of one of the most important examination was in that folder. The key to the door of her old dream was in there. She wasn't sure if she still wanted to pursue this old dream, but seeing it lying in there made her panic.

"I… don't think I can…" She swallowed hard. Arizona slid her hand to clasp with Callie's on the table, and she held onto it tightly.

"We don't have to do anything. If you don't want to know the result then we just leave it here, OK?" Arizona cooed. "You can open the result once you feel like going back to med school, no rush."

"Actually, it's not necessary." Webber said, and he successfully drew the attention from the two women. "I mean going back to Med school."

Callie's face fell. "It was that bad? So bad that Miller won't even take me back?"

"Oh no." Webber shook his head. "You finished at the top of your class, Ms. Torres. Actually your result was the highest in the history of Miller in the last 15 years."

"Huh?"

Webber handed a piece of paper to Callie, but she was still in shock. Arizona took it for her and started to read it.

"You aced everything except psyche, Calliope."

"Huh?" Callie looked at the result that Arizona put in front of her dazedly.

"Dr. Klimas remembered you vividly. She said they tried to contact you after you missed your graduation. But your family didn't know where you were." The chief said casually. He knew there must be some issues in here, but he was smart enough not to pry.

"Um... Chief what do you mean by it's not necessary to go back to med school?" Arizona asked curiously. The brunette was still staring at the piece of paper.

"Technically, Ms. Torres had graduated med school. She finished the rotations and examination. She had received her medical degree. However, Dr. Torres, haven't practice medicine in 6 years, she can't just go to any hospital to start the internship right away." The chief said slowly, but he was interrupted.

"Internship? Who is talking about internship?" Callie said in her shaky voice. It was too much, too soon.

"IF you want to, Calliope." Arizona tightened the clasp of the hands, and used her free hand to rub Callie's arm up and down.

"As I said, even IF you want to continue with what you spent years to learn, you still can't just jump right back in. When I spoke with Dr. Klimas, you were highly regarded. You know it isn't easy to get a compliment from Dr. Klimas." Webber chuckled lightly. "She sent me your results and works from Miller over the years. You were really something, Dr. Torres. So, after discussing it with the board, IF you want to get back on the horses, our hospital is willing to help you."

"How?" Callie asked, staring at Webber with wide round eyes.

"This year's Med school final examination is in 3 months, you need to take it again, and pass it again. If you passed it, there is a spot of internship in Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital waiting for you."

A/N 2: About Callie graduated in the top of her class, and may get back of being a doctor so easily... Please don't judge, it's a fiction ;-)
