I hope all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving, I know I did. I'm still suffering from post-Thanksgiving bloating from all the food I ate xD

Anyways, the time is nearing for Ivarod to attack our heroes and it will be one epic battle. It will be so long it will probably take up like 3 chapters or so.

I'm getting ahead of myself, let's go one step at a time. ENJOY!

Chapter 17

Several weeks later…

"So, Mr. Colbert, how is the weapon building going?" asked Saito as he wiped the sweat off of his body from his training.

"Well, we made the cannon barrels narrower and longer and put spiral grooves inside as you suggested. The cannons can already shoot cannonballs twice as far as the normal ones. We also made the cannonballs denser in order to keep the same weight to allow them to do more damage," said Mr. Colbert as he read off the list of changes.

"That's great. We'll need the ships to be armed with a lot of cannons in case Ivarod brings a large enough army and ships. Thanks for getting everything done," said Saito with an excited voice, happy that progress was proceeding smoothly.

"Yes. Although I would have liked to not have to use violence to solve another issue, it seems that with Ivarod we will have no choice," said Mr. Colbert, calmly. "Aside from that, how goes all of your training?"

"Ah, would you like to see?" asked Saito with a devious grin. Mr. Colbert smiled and nodded before following Saito to the training grounds.

Saito and Mr. Colbert walked around one of the towers and they came upon Louise, Gwen, and Asuna training.

"Hey, girls, can we show Mr. Colbert some of our progress?" asked Saito as he made his way over. Everyone stopped and looked over at Saito before grinning in excitement. No one had really come to see their progress aside from Tiffa who had occasionally come for advice so that she could improve as well, but she didn't train with them because she was in the Elf country training to use nature magic.

"I want to go first!" shouted Louise, excitedly. "So far I can use all the elements but I can't mix them yet."

Louise faced a nearby boulder and she chanted the spell necessary for fireball. A soccer ball sized fireball came out from the tip of her wand and it charred the boulder. Next, she chanted a water spell. "AQUA NEEDLE!"

A spiraling torrent of water came out of Louise's wand and flew towards the rock like a spear before piercing straight through the boulder, leaving a large hole that went right through it. Next, she cast a wind spell. She shouted 'Wind Slash' and a disk of wind flew out from her wand and sliced the boulder down the middle, cutting it in two. The last spell she used was an earth spell which she shouted out 'Rock Wrecker' and the two halves of the boulder lifted up and smashed together causing them to fall apart into quite a few smaller rocks.

Louise panted a bit at the amount of magical power she expended but grinned nonetheless.

"Good job, love," said Saito as he walked over to Louise. He pecked her on the cheek and turned to see Mr. Colbert, who was staring wide-eyed, and grinned. "Gwen, would you like to go next?"

Gwen nodded and stepped up to a nearby tree that was dying.

"I-I have only learned how to use water and wind magic aside from my Void magic, but I figured out how to mix my Void magic with water magic," said Gwen. She lifted up her wand and chanted a spell which sounded like a mix of the Void chanting and some words he could actually understand. A bluish light came off of Gwen's wand and a bluish light encased the tree, starting at the base and working its way up. Bubbles could be seen in the glow that encompassed the tree and the tree began to sparkle. After close to a minute the tree's color began to change to a more normal color and the dying leaves perked up and changed back to a healthy green. Leaves began to sprout out from the bare branches and finally Gwen released the spell. The previously yellowing and sick tree was now lush and a healthy brown with bright green leaves. Mr. Colbert gasped and stared in shock.

"The power of both combined makes an extremely powerful healing spell that could probably bring someone from the brink of death back to perfect health," said Gwen, happily. "My combat spells are also the same as those of Louise so I don't really need to show them."

"That was quite amazing, Miss Gwendolyn. Your magic will be quite useful should someone be seriously hurt during the coming battles," said Mr. Colbert. Gwen blushed a bit at the praise and Asuna leapt out.

"I'm next!" shouted Asuna, excitedly. Currently, Chichi was sitting on her head but when she jumped up to her corner, which was filled with several animals and a few training dummies, he leapt down onto her arm. "Chichi, dagger!"

Chichi transformed into a dagger and she jumped and ran more agilely than humanly possible, almost equally to Saito, and sliced and stabbed the dummies. She then shouted 'Claws' and Chichi transformed into two claws that came out from her knuckles and looked similar to Wolverine's claws. She slashed at one of the mannequins heads and sliced it into three pieces. As she spun she called out to one of the animals by an arrow shooter and she shouted at Chichi 'Shield'.

Chichi transformed and the small animal on the arrow shooter rammed the lever, causing 5 arrows to be shot at Asuna. Asuna, expertly, deflected all the arrows and landed on the ground, breathing heavily but with a large smile.

"Wow! That was amazing speed. You are as fast as Saito!" shouted Mr. Colbert in amazement. Asuna grinned, brightly, and puffed out her chest in pride.

"I snuck into an animal enclosure in my world and absorbed a cheetah's speed. Now I can be really fast. I also absorbed a cat's power for the agility," said Asuna, happily.

"Quite interesting. Is there a limit to the number of animals? We could easily bring different animals for you to absorb," said Mr. Colbert.

"I don't think so. But I don't really need a huge number of them because there isn't a huge difference aside from strength, speed, and agility but go ahead if you want," said Asuna, calmly. Mr. Colbert nodded and was about to leave before realizing something.

"Oh, Saito! What about you?" asked Mr. Colbert.

"Hm? Oh, I wasn't really planning on showing it off. I'm not really the kind of person to show off," said Saito, nonchalantly, while waving a hand.

"Come on, Saito. Show Colbert," said Asuna after jumping up onto him and clinging to his arm. Louise pouted but chose to let it slide because it would be easier to persuade him to show off.

"Yes, Saito. Show Mr. Colbert your new attacks," said Louise before hugging Saito around the waist. Saito began to short out from having two beautiful girls, one of which was his wife, cling to him and he sighed in defeat before muttering a 'fine'.

Saito walked away after the two girls released him and he stood in the middle of the field. He pulled Derf out of his scabbard and held him out in front of him before shutting his eyes and talking a few calming breaths. Saito began to chant an incantation, which echoed in a way that made everyone a bit uncomfortable, and Derf began to glow.

"Lucifer's Blade!" shouted Saito in a voice that contained a demonic undertone. Everyone froze for a moment and the sky dimmed a bit as black lightning shot out from Derf's hilt, encompassing his blade. A reddish aura slid around the black lightning and the demonic power coming off the blade was prevalent. It was so powerful, Saito's features also morphed a bit; his hair spiking up and his canines becoming a bit sharper.

Everyone watched in awe and then Saito stabbed the sky and the black lightning was thrown upward into the sky, hitting a cloud and blowing up. A red shockwave blasted outward and blew away all the clouds nearby. Everyone stared in amazement and Mr. Colbert's mouth was gaping at the scene.

Saito pulled Derf back down to his normal level and released the spell he activated. The dark lightning dissipated and soon the sky returned to its normal color. Saito stabbed Derf into the ground and began to pant heavily while using Derf to help support himself.

"W-Wow, Saito! That was amazing!" shouted Asuna in amazement. Gwen was speechless and still standing there staring wide-eyed at Saito. Mr. Colbert was frozen in place, unsure of what he just witnessed.

Louise said nothing but instead walked up to Saito with a quick pace. Saito's breathing was beginning to even out and when Louise reached him, she kissed him passionately. After she broke the kiss, Louise whispered something into Saito's ear.

"Saito, that was amazing. Now, as your master, I think you deserve a reward for your new power, don't you think?" whispered Louise, seductively, in his ear. Saito paused, unsure of what she meant until he saw her wink at him and he blushed, violently, at the thought of his 'reward'.

Everyone broke away to relax after a hard day's work, except for Saito and Louise, who moved up to their room so that Saito could receive his well deserved 'reward'.

Lord Ivarod walked through the training grounds of the Imperial Army and he was clad in whitish-steel plate armor and had a sword, with angel wings on either side, imprinted onto his chest. The clanking of his armor could be heard as he walked, as well as the much less noisy chain armor of Toriyama, who walked next to him.

The two made their way through the camp and watched the thousands of soldiers training for the coming battle.

"So, how have the preparations been going, my child?" asked Ivarod, calmly, with a grin on his face.

"Sixty-thousand Valkyrie are currently prepped and ready to fight, my Lord. We also have the giants, golems, asag, banshee, Cyclopes, daemons, goblins, and Raiju who have all joined us due to their hatred of the humans. We are almost completely ready, Lord Ivarod," said Toriyama with a devious grin.

"Good, good," said Ivarod with an evil grin. "It should only be a few more weeks before I swindle enough money from those stubborn old nobles and we will have enough for food and supplies to move out."

"My Lord, you need not join us on the battle field. I am adequate enough to lead the army. You don't need to soil your hands," said Toriyama, worriedly. Ivarod turned to look at his familiar and placed a hand on his head.

"I appreciate your concern, young one; however I will be there to fight. I will squash those three Void mage with my own hands," boasted Ivarod with an enormous grin. Toriyama grinned similarly and the two began to laugh. "THEY WILL ALL DIE!"

I gave Saito an OP attack, though, he does have others, I just want them to be more a surprise than just revealing them all. I really like this one though. I just finished Maoyuu Maou Yuusha and got the idea for a demonic based attack. I hope you guys thought it was epic :D
