Hey guys MT here!

I'm SOOOOO sorry that I'm late. I've had writer's block to the power of infinity and my parents didn't help much.

I really do not expect this chapter to do well. I had abso-freaking-lutely no inspiration for it and couldn't think of ANYTHING to write. I barely managed to write what I could and I don't think I did well. I really need some help to fix this chapter up or if you guys don't care much, next chapter will be when Ivarod joins the battle so this could be a bit of a filler.

Anyways, I'm rambling, ENJOY!

Chapter 22

There were roars emanating from both sides as they smashed into each other. Saito's plan worked at the beginning, the heavy armored soldiers blocked the enemy while the cavalry pierced into them with their spears and javelins. The formation then dissipated as it mixed in with the enemy ranks and they flanked left and right, taking down Valkyrie and being taken out themselves by the massive armies around them.

The Valkyrie were no joke. They had weapons that were like magical guns and cannons, shooting out small balls of fire and air bullets at the Halkeginians. Saito was at the helm and, along with Louise, was the deepest in the enemy's territory. He was slashing around, keeping Louise safe long enough for her to cast spell after spell. Fire spells, wind spells, everything she could use was being thrown at her enemy.

"So Louise," began Saito after pushing back the enemy enough from himself. "What was that attack you did earlier that took out a chunk of the enemy?"

"Ehehe, did you like it, Saito? I worked hard to perfect that spell. It's a pentagonal spell with all 5 elements. It's the same one that I used on the Ancient Dragon. Apparently if Lifdrasir uses up the rest of his life force for one last attack, it causes the caster to be able to use a pentagonal spell just once. Now, though, I can use it when I want," boasted Louise, proud of her accomplishment. Saito grinned, not keeping his eyes off his enemy. He slashed a few times, causing them to be pushed back and spoke again.

"If you can use it whenever then why not just use a bunch to take out the army?" asked Saito, cutting down two more Valkyrie.

"Idiot! Do you know how much magical power that takes? I'll be lucky if I can use it even one more time today," said Louise, annoyed.

"Sorry, I kinda forgot about that," said Saito, scratching his nose in embarrassment. "Woah!"

Saito caught the sword of one of the Valkyrie with Derf and the Valkyrie grinned. They began to chant a quick spell and their sword burst into flames. Thinking he could finally hurt Saito, he lifted his sword and struck Derf again in order to break him, but was surprised when he saw Saito grin. Derf sucked the fire magic out of the sword when they touched and the sword was bare. Saito slashed at the Valkyrie with his katana and the enemy collapsed to the ground.

"You can't defeat me with magic," said Saito, confidently. The battle continued and Saito glanced over at Asuna, Tiffa, and Gwen who were fighting with the other soldiers.

Gwen was casting wind spells, blasting away enemy soldiers and slicing them up with wind scythes. She was also casting fortification magic on the heavy armor soldiers to strengthen their defenses.

Tiffa was using nature magic and earth magic to make golems and shoot swords at the enemy soldiers. She was doing amazing considering she just learned nature magic.

Asuna…Asuna was being a total freaking badass. Saito swears if he didn't love Louise he would kiss the girl from how hot she looked fighting. She was making full use of her Vindalfr powers, using her cheetah speed to slice everything up and the dragon strength she absorbed to smash through armor. She also increased the strength of her bones by absorbing the skeletal strength of an elephant along with the ability to suddenly gain the weight of an elephant. She would basically jump up high, which she gained said jumping ability from kangaroos, and would increase her weight, crushing the enemy below her. Swords weren't having much of an effect on her either because she absorbed the tough armor of an armadillo, making her skin hard as a rock. She was a fighting machine and every guy there was probably getting the hots for her.

Chichi was also helping her, immensely, transforming between a shield, dagger, and claws whenever needed which helped take down the enemy relatively quickly.

"My Lord," began Toriyama. "It has been an hour since the battle started and more than a quarter of our army has been defeated while they haven't lost even an eighth. Should I join the battle now?"

"No no, my child. It seems that they planned better than I thought. On top of that, have you seen the damage the elves have done on the opposite side?" asked Ivarod, calmly. The two were in a camp in the center of their army, commanding new formations when necessary.

"W-What?! I was not aware the elves were attacking as well!" shouted Toriyama, shocked that they were being flanked from two fronts.

"Ah, yes. You were surveying the battle when they informed us. Yes, seems the elves aligned themselves with the scum of Halkeginia. Due to them we are nearing half of our army lost to the enemy. We will be waiting until they reach us before attacking them," said Ivarod, sipping some tea.

"B-But, my Lord, I could easily push back the forces if I just-" began Toriyama before being given the evil eye by Ivarod. "Forgive me, I spoke out of turn."

"Do not worry about it, my child. We will destroy them together when they reach our location, who cares about the filth in the army, full of peasants and lesser magical creatures," said Ivarod, disdainfully. Toriyama wore an uncomfortable expression, feeling that his lord and adopted father was acting a bit more hateful than normal.

"Dammnit, it's been four hours and the enemy still isn't taken care of," breathed Saito. "You, messenger! Inform the command center that it is time for squadron two to take over. We haven't lost more than a quarter of our forces and I want to minimize casualties."

The messenger Saito pointed to nodded and ran off towards base camp.

By this point more than half of the enemy forces had been taken down, just around two-thirds, and their forces were nearing a quarter losses on just their side alone.

"Alright, time for a hard hit," said Saito. He lifted Derf into the air and Derf glowed before a small ball of a pale yellow light shot of him. It flew straight into the air and within a few minutes, the ships and dragon knights were there and positioned to attack. "FIRE!"

The ships blasted at the large army, causing small explosions all over the enemy's lines and threw them into a panic. Next, the dragon knights attacked, breathing fire all over the enemy's ranks and completely disrupting them and causing dissention among the ranks.

Saito led his army towards them, catching them off guard and tearing into their forces.

"WE WILL WIN!" shouted Saito as they ran in, attacking everyone in sight.

So? Was I right about how crappy it was?

So yeah, I don't really have much to say other than it was bad, but Review and let me know if I should fix this chapter or just treat it as a filler and focus on Ivarod in the next chapter?

Anyways, until next time...byeee :D
