Hey guys, MT here!
I'm sorry for the late chapter! My laptop screen died on me so I might need to get either it or the cable replaced. It sucks but I guess that happens when you have the same laptop for 4 years. Also, I don't know how long it will take to get fixed, so next week's chapter may be late as well, sorry in advance.
I want to apologize for the shortness of this chapter in advance. I really didn't want to cut into Saito and Louise's vacation so I decided to end it where I did.
Anyways, ENJOY!

Chapter 31
Saito, Louise, and Asuna, who had Chichi on her shoulder, appeared in front of Asuna's house in Japan.
Asuna and Louise began walking to Asuna's door but turned when they noticed that Saito had not been following them.
"Saito, what's wrong?" asked Louise, confused by his lack of following. Saito began to tremble in fear and smile nervously.
"Hm? Oh, n-nothing! I-I think I'll just s-stay out here. Yeah, that sounds good," stuttered Saito, beginning to back away from the house.
"Saito! Are you really still so scared of my mom? She got angry at you once for breaking her favorite vase and that was ten years ago, get over it!" shouted Asuna in annoyance.
"Asuna?" called out a voice from the house. Asuna spun around to see her mother who was quickly put in tears at the sight of her daughter. Asuna reacted similarly and the two ran to each other, crashing together and embracing each other tightly.
"Mom! I'm back!" cried Asuna, as she held her mother and was held by her mother.
"My baby, I thought I'd lost you! It had been so long, I thought something terrible had happened! I was horrified, unable to stop thinking about what could have happened!" cried out Asuna's mother. Louise and Saito watched the scene with smiles, their hearts warmed by the loving scene. They watched as Asuna's mother scan her daughter for wounds, not finding any since her bandages had been removed the day prior.
"Hey, why don't we move this into the house?" Saito asked, happily, attracting Asuna and her mother's attention. Asuna's mother took one, good look at Saito and her eyes began to glow and killing intent was directed at Saito, causing a shiver to run down his spine.
"Oh~ Saito~. Why didn't you come sooner to show me my little girl was alright? Did you keep her from me on purpose?" asked Asuna's mother with a death glare. Saito began whimpering like a dog, so afraid he couldn't even function.
Asuna's mother began to grow (or Saito began to shrink) and flames erupted behind her as she drowned Saito in killing intent, causing him to whimper and curl up in the fetal position.
"Mom! Please don't kill Saito! If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be here," said Asuna, trying to calm her mother.
"Is that so?" said Asuna's mother, her voice still threatening. The flames suddenly went out and Asuna's mother returned to her normal size, even her eyes ceased their glowing as a bright smile appeared on her face. "Well that's good. Would you all like some tea?"
"W-What?" asked Louise, completely confused. "Aren't you going to punish him?"
"Now why would I do that? He saved my daughter didn't he?" said Asuna's mom with a bright expression. Louise wore a confused expression at the woman's sudden change in attitude but sighed in defeat, unable to understand what was going on. "Now then, why don't we go and have some tea inside."
Asuna's mom turned around and began to walk towards the house, everyone following behind.
"W-What?! Asuna, you fought the leader of the enemy and he could use magic?! How could you do something so dangerous!" shouted Asuna's mom, angrily.
"I know, mom, but I had to. I had to distract him long enough for Gwen-nee-san to heal Saito so he could fight again," explained Asuna, trying to calm her mother down.
"Still yo- Nee-san?" said Asuna's mother, confused.
"Huh? Oh! I almost forgot, as reward for being an important fighter in the war, I was inducted into the royal family of Gwen-nee-san's country. That means that I'm her adopted sister so I call her nee-san," explained Asuna, calmly. Asuna's mother looked at her, confused, but chose not to ask, since she didn't understand these things very well. "Which also means I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the other world, since I'm a princess there now."
"What? I thought after this war you'd be coming back home!" shouted Asuna's mother, surprised by her words.
"I-I can come home for longer periods, but I mean, I have responsibilities. Being a princess means I have to help Gwen-nee-san and Uncle Harold run Albion. Plus I'm still a familiar, which means that I have to be there to help Gwen-nee-san regardless," explained Asuna, a bit panicky from her mother's reaction. Her mother frowned and sunk into the sofa with a depressed expression.
"If...If you're going to be living in this other world more, may I please visit you?" asked Asuna's mother, sheepishly. Asuna's expression perked up and a bright smile appeared on her face.
"Of course!" shouted Asuna as she leapt to her feet. "In fact, why don't you come with me to that world now?! There's a festival going on to celebrate the end of the war! We could have fun and you could see how the world is!"
Asuna's mother smiled, sheepishly, and got up, saying she needed to call the shelter to let them know that she was going to be on vacation for a couple of weeks.
Once she was out of the room, Saito spoke.
"Asuna, are you sure you wanna take your mom? She won't be able to understand anyone or be able to communicate," said Saito, worried that something might happen.
"That won't be a problem. Gwen-nee-san found out that the Valkyrie have a special magical device that they devised for communication between members of the different races that don't speak the other's language. You attach the two pieces to the people, one to the one who doesn't know the language needed and the other is attached to someone who knows it. The device reads their magical energy so that the language can be transferred. I'll attach one piece to me since I know the language by being a familiar," explained Asuna, simply. Saito's eyes widened in surprise that such a device existed and he mentally praised the Valkyrie for their advancement in magical technology.
"That's good, that means that you two can be dropped off later and then Louise and I will pick her up when we get back to Halkeginia," said Saito, aloud, causing Louise to tense up.
"Get back? Are you two going somewhere?" asked Asuna, confused.
"Going somewhere? What? Of course not, nope not going anywhere," said Louise, trying to cover up Saito's blunder which he was now aware of. Asuna glared at Saito, making him uncomfortable, until he began sweating, then more sweating, then the over exaggerated anime sweating.
"Alright! We're going on vacation here in Japan!" blurted out Saito, causing Louise to face palm at how quickly he snapped.
"Louise! Are you trying to one up me by being alone with Saito for a couple weeks?!" shouted Asuna, angrily.
"One up you? He's my husband! He's mine!" shouted Louise, who was now standing and in Asuna's face.
"I don't care, I had him first!" shouted Asuna.
"Yes, and you gave him up!" shouted Louise.
Saito sunk into the sofa as he watched the two women fight over him, knowing better than to get in between them.
It'll be so nice when Louise and I are alone for awhile, thought Saito, contently.
Elsewhere…
The Valkyrie country was broken and depressed. When the soldiers returned and explained how Ivarod had betrayed the people, sadness and hatred for the monarchy quickly engulfed the people. Due to the betrayal of their leader, they were quick to attempt to make a peace treaty with Halkeginia, not wanting to continue a war started by their previous leader. The nobles had formed a temporary government which they ran as they prepared a vote for whether to abolish the monarchy, and for a government similar to the elves to be established, or to continue the monarchy and bring in a new royal family.
"What shall we do if they choose to continue the monarchy, brother?" asked one of the nobles as they worked.
"I assumed we would bring a noble family to power, however we may look for who would be best. The government has lost the trust of the people, we have to regain their trust," said another noble.
"Tch, such idiocy. Ivarod betrays us and we have to take the heat while he merely rots in the ground," said another noble, angrily.
"Calm yourself, brother, we are at fault for not seeing his evil nature sooner. He fooled us all," said a noble, calmly.
"If they choose a representative government such as the elven one, what will become of us, brothers? We will no longer have an influence in the government unless we become representatives; which is unlikely because we failed the people once already," said one of nobles, causing the room to become silent. All the nobles turned their head downward as they thought about this, and one finally spoke up.
"Well, at least we will make sure to help the new government protect the people, since we are no longer worthy to do so," said a noble. Small smiles broke out among the nobles and they lifted their heads.
"Let us do it, brothers. Let us create a new government, one that will restore the hope and light of the people!" shouted out one of the nobles, happily. The other nobles cheered in excitement, wanting nothing more than to restore their nation to greatness and bring the people's happiness back.
So? What did you guys think? Was the scene with Saito and Asuna's mom funny? That's what I was aiming for so I hope it was.
Anyways, I was looking and I just noticed that this story is like 70k words. That...that's crazy. We're like at the half way point, maybe not even at that because of how much I have for the next segment of the story. I can't believe that, its crazy.
Hope you guys stick around with me until the very end :D
Well, Review and giev me your thoughts on this chapter and what I had just mentioned and until next time...byeee :D
