Chapter 32
One and a half days later…
"Wow, Saito! This place is amazing!" said Louise in awe as they went around the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo. The Yasukuni Shrine is a large shrine in the Chiyoda area of Tokyo and was built in 1869.
Louise ran towards the large shrine, passing through the torii gate as she did so.
"Haha, I'm glad you like it. I used to come here with my friends every New Year's when we went on our 'Tour of the Tokyo Shrines'. We prayed for good scores on our exams," said Saito, happily, as he caught up with his wife.
"Do you think that they will be mad?" asked Louise when Saito had caught up with her.
"About what? That we left without telling anyone except Asuna and Henrietta, though she was pretty vague about it," said Saito. Louise nodded, sheepishly, and Saito took her hand and smiled. "Come on, Louise, we're allowed to have some time alone. It's not their problem if we disappear for a couple weeks. We deserve it after all the hard work we've been doing what with the training and the war."
Louise smiled at him, knowing he was right, and spun around to look around the temple, finding all sorts of interesting things which Saito had to explain to her. The two spent around an hour there but the strange looks were starting to bother them. And by strange looks, I mean that people thought Louise's school uniform was strange.
"I think it's time we go shopping," said Saito, wearing simple jeans and a polo.
"But, we don't have any money here, and I'd hate to have to borrow from your parents," said Louise, not wanting to impose on people who weren't even from the same world. After all, she may be a noble in Halkeginia, but in Tokyo she's just a regular old girl.
"I'm almost completely sure that the Halkeginian gold is the same as my world's gold. We've got plenty of gold back home, hell we've got some gold in our nightstand. We can sell it here for money," explained Saito, calmly. Louise wasted no time in dragging Saito to a more secluded area before opening a World Door to their bedroom. Louise quickly leapt in and grabbed a handful of gold coins from the drawer of their nightstand before leaping back through the portal back in front of Saito, closing the portal behind her.
"We have ten gold coins. How much can we get for these?" asked Louise, holding up the coins for Saito to see.
"Uhh…I'm not really sure…I mean, it's been a long time since I've been here for extended periods so I don't really remember. Let's take it to a pawn shop that I think is still open nearby," said Saito, eliciting a confused look from Louise. "A pawn shop is a place you can sell precious metals, gems, and pretty much any junk you have that could be worth money."
Louise mouthed an 'Oh' and Saito led her out of the shrine and down the street a few blocks. They arrived in front of a pawn shop, that was simply labeled 'PAWN', and they entered, a bell ringing as they did so.
"Hello, hello, my friends. How may I help you today?" asked a quite large, but short man from behind the glass counters. As they walked to the counters, Louise looked around, curiously, staring at the objects in the shop with interest. There were guns, katana, old flags from different countries, and even some old shrine bells.
"Hello," greeted Saito after the couple reached the counter. "We just came back into town to meet up with my family and do a bit of sightseeing, but we're short on cash. I have some gold coins to sell. What's the going rate for gold right now?"
"Ah, yes. Gold is around 4500 yen per gram at the moment. May I see said coins that you are selling?" asked the pawn broker, glancing back and forth between the two. Louise set down the ten coins on the counter and the man picked one up before inspecting it with a confused expression. "Where are these from? I've been in the business for fifty years and I've never even seen a picture of this design. A castle with dragons and…what is that? A wizard in front of the castle?"
"Well, I moved with my wife to her country and it's not nearby. I'm sorry that it seems a bit strange," said Saito, trying to not be suspicious. The man in front of them was already giving them suspicious looks when they dropped ten large gold coins on his counter, now he was even more suspicious because of the strange design.
"Hmm…do you mind if I test it to make sure it's real gold?" asked the pawn broker, receiving a sharp nod from Saito. The burly man left them and came back around a half an hour later with the coin. "Alright, this is real gold. May I ask where you both received these coins, though? Your wife here looks to be European and I know for a fact that Europeans don't use gold coins as their main currency anymore. On top of that you have ten of them."
"Actually, that is the currency of her country, though it isn't a European country," said Saito, hoping the man would drop it soon.
"Really, now? South American?" asked the pawn broker, receiving a 'no' from Saito. "Asian? Australian? Pacific island?"
Saito shook his head at every question and the pawn broker was beginning to get excessively suspicious.
"Now, son, did you two happen to steal these coins? If you tell me now, and from who, I won't call the cops on you," said the pawn broker as he leaned over the counter towards them. Saito sweat-dropped as he had hoped this wouldn't have been so difficult, and Louise sighed at the fact she would have to save her husband.
"Saito! Can we just show him? I really want to keep sightseeing," said Louise, prodding Saito with her wand. Saito sighed and waved his hand, signifying a yes, and the pawn broker tensed, thinking the two were going to attack him. Louise quickly opened a World Door, frightening the man and causing him to jump back and hit his shelves.
"W-W-What the hell?!" shouted the pawn broker.
"As you can see," said Saito as he pointed to the portal which floated over the festival in Romalia. "We aren't from around here. In our country, they use gold coins."
"A-Alright, alright! I believe you!" shouted the pawn broker, eliciting grins from Saito and Louise. She closed her portal and the two quickly finished business with the pawn broker before walking out of the shop.
"One million five hundred and twenty thousand yen. Do you know how ridiculous that is? Do you know how much you could buy with that? We couldn't spend all that money in a month if we stay at my parent's house," said Saito, carefully splitting the large bills between he and his wife.
"Now you can be rich in both worlds," said Louise with a giggle and bright smile.
My gosh, ever since we got here, this girl has been so happy and out of character. She must have really wanted to go on vacation, thought Saito as he watched his wife skip, happily.
"Come on," said Saito as he took Louise's hand and led the way. "To the mall we go!"
Never thought I'd say that, thought Saito as he sweat-dropped.
"Saito~, how do I look?" said Louise as she came out of the fitting room wearing a short skirt and button down, baby blue blouse. She spun around, showing herself off and Saito grinned.
"Isn't that what too similar to what you were wearing before? Minus the cape," commented Saito, causing Louise to frown and look down at her clothes.
"So you don't like it?" asked Louise, pouting in a way that broke Saito's heart…and also making his manliness cry.
"No, no, I do! It's just, I thought you'd want to try a different style of clothes as opposed to your usual," said Saito, trying to reassure his pouting wife. She nodded and returned to the fitting room to try on a different pair of clothes she brought in with her.
A few minutes later, Louise came out again, this time wearing jean shorts that made it just below her knees and were tight on her skin. She was also wearing a black tank top which was concealed by a collarless, blue shirt which exposed one of her shoulders. She was wearing black converse and ankle-length socks and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail.
"And now?" asked Louise, hopefully. Saito's eyes went wide and his brain malfunctioned at how attractive she looked and Louise looked at him with a confused expression when he didn't respond. She walked over to him and waved a hand in front of his face, frowning when he didn't even blink. "Saito? Are you okay?"
Louise turned when she heard a whistle coming from a trio of guys walking through the store and she cocked a brow at them.
"Hey, sexy, I think you broke your boyfriend there! Feel free to come with us if you want someone who could handle you," said one of the men who was quite tall and muscular. Louise glared at said man but didn't get a chance to say anything before Saito snapped out of his trance and turned to curse at them.
"Go the fuck away. She's mine!" shouted Saito, angrily, causing the group to go wide-eyed.
"Pardon, dumbass? Do you wanna go at it?" asked the man who called out to Louise before.
"Why would I waste my time? I just didn't feel comfortable with you calling her sexy and hitting on her," said Saito, gritting his teeth to keep himself in control. Believe it or not, Saito can get almost as jealous as Louise, maybe more, when someone hits on her. I mean, remember Mr. Griffin Knight?
"You ain't married. Either ways, she could use someone a bit stronger," commented the man, eliciting a growl from Saito. Louise tugged on Saito's sleeve, grasping his attention, and he turned to her.
"Husband you really shouldn't be getting into fights," said Louise, showing off her ring as she emphasized 'husband'. The man cussed and turned to leave, muttering out something like 'All the hot ones are taken'.
"S-Sorry," said Saito after the men left. "When I saw you dressed like that, and that guy hit on you, I got a bit jumpy."
"S-So you did like it," said Louise, blushing like a schoolgirl. Well…technically she's still in school. Saito grinned at her and leaned in to whisper something in her ear.
"I had to keep myself from attacking you right there," whispered Saito, both his breath and words giving Louise goose bumps. Saito pulled away and smiled when he saw her stunned reaction before turning and walking into the changing room, picking up her clothing. "So, shall we pay? You can just wear that and we can pay up front."
Louise nodded, absentmindedly, and allowed Saito to guide her to the cash registers.
So? Cute?
I thought I'd have a little shopping chapter since it would be weird for Louise to be going around in her school uniform. People might think she's a cosplayer xD
Anyways, Review and let me know what you thought and go ahead and check out the next chapter
