Hey guys MT here!

So, it's official. You are allowed to murder me for being so late. I'm EXTREMELY sorry that I haven't posted in so long. Between AP tests and my sheer amount of laziness, I just hadn't gotten around to finishing. Because of my ineptitude, I will be posting the last two weeks' chapters today. Hope it somewhat makes up for it.

Anyways, ENJOY!

Chapter 39

The next day…

"So, Asuna, how has your mom been doing here in Halkeginia?" asked Saito, curiously. Everyone was currently sitting in one of the cafes, Louise sitting next to Saito and glaring daggers at Asuna because of the day before. Asuna and Gwen were sitting across from them and were sipping on some juice.

"Ugh…don't ask," said Asuna and Gwen in unison as they slumped a bit in their seats.

"What? Has she been bothering you two that much?" asked Saito, confused by their reaction.

"It's not that Chifuyu-dono has been bothering us…" began Gwen, looking off into space.

"…it's just, something happened between Mom and Uncle Harold," continued Asuna.

"Did King Harold dislike your mother like I dislike you right now?" asked Louise, curiously. Saito rolled his eyes at the comparison and couldn't help but chuckle a bit.

"No it's not that they dislike each other," began Asuna, rolling her eyes at Louise's comparison. "They started flirting the second they met and it was really awkward. I hated it because it's like the grossest thing I have ever seen."

"Asuna-nee, you're leaving out the worst part," interjected Gwen, causing attention to turn towards her. "Uncle and Chifuyu dated for the entire festival and they just took a giant leap for no reason."

"What kind of jump could they have taken? It's not like they're getting married or anything," joked Saito. He received depressed looks from Gwen and Asuna and he immediately understood their dilemma. "Oh my gosh, they're getting married."

"How long do we have to stop this atrocity?" asked Louise, equally as horrified as the rest.

"A whole 5 minutes," muttered Asuna after slamming her face on the table. "They're eloping since remarriage in a church is apparently 'Against the ideas of founder Brimir'."

"Louise I think Asuna needs a hug for this. It's horrible," said Saito, bluntly.

"I think they both need a hug," said Louise before pointing to Gwen who also had her face pressed to the table.

"Do you understand how awkward it is for two 40-year-olds to be super flirty in public and then elope? It's so weird. I can't wait to take mom home so I don't have to deal with this for a little while," said Asuna, depressed.

"A little while? Why would she come back? Plus, how is the marriage between two people from different worlds supposed to work, anyways?" asked Saito, wondering how they would even make that work.

"The Valkyrie have been trying very hard to appeal to Halkeginia. When they heard Uncle and Chifuyu were getting married, they offered a small device they created which allows someone to travel between Japan and Halkeginia and back once a week. It takes a week to charge with magical energy and then you can use it again," explained Gwen, her voice slightly muffled from her face being pressed into the table.

"Wow, that still kind of sucks. Good for them, but weird for you," said Saito.

"I know. This is why I'm officially done with Japan. I can't live in a house with my love struck mother talking about my adopted father in a flirty way. I just can't. I'm living here with Gwen-nee-san and we will protect each other from Uncle's awkwardness," muttered Asuna.

"Oh, Saito-sannnn~!" shouted a familiar voice, breaking the focus of the group. They all turned towards the group and found a cheerful Tiffa wandering through the packed café. Behind her was a serious looking Madarf.

"Hey, Tiffa. It's been awhile, how are you?" asked Saito, happily, trying to sweep away the depressed mood from before.

"I have been great! Madarf-kun and I have been going all around the festival and, now that it is winding down, we have just been relaxing," explained Tiffa, her cheerful attitude remaining strong.

"-kun? Since when have you two been so close?" asked Louise, curiously. Tiffa immediately blushed and looked away, sheepishly, before something caught Asuna's eye.

"Ne, Tiffa, how come you and Madarf are holding hands?" asked Asuna, not lifting her head from the table but tilting it to look Tiffa in the eye.

"Ehhhhhh?! Tiffa, are you two…?" asked Saito, surprised by the development.

"W-W-Well, Saito-san, M-Madarf-kun was with me a lot during my recovery a-and we got to know each other well and he kind of…asked me out?" said Tiffa, sheepishly. She felt Madarf's grip tighten a bit, enticing her to look up and he was blushing, a bit embarrassed, but still looking at her and smiling.

"Wow, I was not expecting this," said Saito, surprised, before talking a sip from his tea, not really knowing what to say.

"I'm happy for you two. You look cute together," said Gwen, smiling brightly.

"T-Thank you"

"Thanks," said Tiffa and Madarf, respectively, in unison.

"Sit with us and have tea. You two should share some of what you have been doing these past weeks," said Louise, happily.

"I'm going to use the restroom," said Asuna, abruptly, causing everyone to look at her. She strut away from the table, confusing everyone, but the confusion was quick to dissipate as Tiffa and Madarf sat down and began to share stories.

I wonder what just happened with Asuna, thought Saito as he absently watched Tiffa and Madarf share stories with Gwen and Louise. He flinched when he heard a familiar meow and looked down to find the ember eyes of a silver cat looking up at him from under the table.

"Asuna?" Saito whispered towards the cat. The cat morphed into Asuna under the table and he felt a shiver down his spine in anticipation for a bad situation.

Asuna kneeled in front of Saito under the table and she peered up at him with devious eyes. Again he whispered her name but received no reply but instead an action. She grinned, evilly, as he grabbed his crotch area, causing Saito to almost jump out of his seat.

"Asuna, stop that!" shout/whispered Saito as he attempted to swat her away.

"Oh come on, you know you like it," whispered Asuna back.

"I am doing no such thing. Now let me go before Louise-," countered Saito before being interrupted.

"Saito? Are you okay? You've been fidgeting and whispering to yourself," said Louise, staring at him with suspicion in her eyes.

"What? Of course I'm alright. Just thinking aloud," said Saito. Louise stared at him, hearing the obvious lies from him and got up before pushing his chair, causing him to fall over onto the floor.

There, Asuna was revealed and she merely giggled before transforming into a cat again.

"Why you little harlot!" shouted Louise, angrily.

"Nya~ catch me if nyou can!" taunted Asuna before running away, Louise chasing after her.

"Gandalfr, you seem to have many troubles," said Madarf as he watched an angry Louise chasing after Asuna, who was in cat form, while waving her wand around.

"You don't know the half of it," sighed Saito, as he watched them go.

Elsewhere…

The elfish forces that protected Rivendell rushed outside the main legislative building when they found a small Valkyrie ship flying overhead. The ship landed in the courtyard outside and the troops all stood around the three council members and Lord Bidashal.

"Bidashal-sama," said one of the Valkyrie that was leaving along with two guards.

"Ah, Sakko-sama, may I ask why you landed a small ship in the middle of the capital city without prior contact or proper authorization?" asked Bidashal, annoyed that such a disturbance was occurring in his city.

"Forgive me. The other nobles and the new president agreed that we should keep this as secretive as possible from the Valkyrie people," said Sakko, causing Bidashal to wear a confused expression. Sakko moved towards the wall of guards, causing them to tense. "May I?"

"Let him through, this seems important," said Bidashal, causing the guards in front of him to part. Sakko moved forward and moved his face next to Bidashal's to whisper in his ear.

"The final Void mage…has been discovered," whispered Sakko, causing Bidashal's eyes to widen.

"My office, now," ordered Bidashal. He spun around and guided Sakko towards the legislative building.

"Now," began Bidashal after the door to his office was closed. "Where did you find them and who are they?"

"She is a Valkyrian child. We discovered her on the streets of the capital after much time of searching. She seems to be an orphan and we only found her because one of the residents mentioned seeing her body almost…vibrate, as she slept. We thought it was similar to the super speed powers of Ivarod," explained Sakko. Bidashal sighed and began to stroke his beard as he thought of the next step.

"And the reason for secrecy?" asked Bidashal, curious as to why there was one.

"The people of my country…are still depressed over the war and the betrayal of Ivarod. We feared that if they learned of a young and impressionable Void mage, they might try to use her powers to bring glory back to the nation. We, on the other hand, are finished with war and wish to end the isolation from the other races which is why we have brought her to you," said Sakko, honestly. Bidashal nodded in approval at his decision and stroked his beard again.

"May I meet the girl? Afterward, we may send her to be with the others in Romalia so that she may begin her training on how to use her Void powers," said Bidashal. Sakko nodded and waved one of his guards out to bring the new Void mage. The guard returned within ten minutes and he brought the new Void mage in.

"Dear, please introduce yourself to Bidashal-sama. He is an elf that has a large amount of power in the government. He may be the one to take you to Halkeginia to meet with your sister Void mage," explained Sakko. The girl nodded and stepped past Sakko, hesitantly. Bidashal got a good look at her and he noticed that she was quite the beautiful young woman.

(The Void mage had straight, charcoal black hair that fell to her shoulders. Her bangs were short and ended a bit above her heterochromatic eyes which were silver around the pupil but changed to a golden color as it approached the edge of the cornea. She had relatively snow-white skin and had a good figure. The most noticeable feature were the nearly glowing, white wings whose feathers glistened in the light.)

"Um…M-My name is Tenshi…um…Tenshi Aingeal. N-Nice to meet you," said Tenshi before bowing to Bidashal.

So? What did you guys think?

Finally! I am kind of done with the vacation arc for now and will be moving into another. This one being the introduction of the new Void mage! So exciting!

Also, look up what Tenshi's first and last name mean on google translate. I found it kind of funny.

Anyways, Review and make sure to check out the other chapter!
