I know I've been really off with the chapters and I REALLY am sorry I've just had a lot on my mind. I'm finally going to college and I have to work out all the scholarship and financial aid quirks on top of looking for a summer job. It's been hectic.

Chapter 41
That night…
"Well, Miss Tenshi, please sleep well tonight and please do not hesitate to ask if you need any assistance," said Siesta who was in her pajamas, ready for bed.
"T-Thank you…um…M-Miss Siesta. I-I will ask if I need anything," said Tenshi, sitting on her bed, holding a pillow to her chest. Siesta smiled and nodded before leaving, closing the door behind her. Tenshi sat for a moment in silence, waiting to make sure no one else was going to come in. After a few minutes, sniffling could be heard from Tenshi's bed and she was crying while pressing the pillow to her chest. The tears flowed down her cheeks deep into the night.
The next morning…
"Mnhh…" groaned Saito as he awoke, early that morning. "Ugh, so early…whatever, need to get some training in before I get too rusty."
Saito rolled off the bed and slipped on his jeans before making his way over to Derf who was leaned against one of the walls.
"Derf, time for training," said Saito as he picked Derf up.
"Hm? What?" said Derf, after popped out of his scabbard, seeming a bit disoriented. "Oh, sorry. Was just taking a bit of a power nap before we started."
"I didn't know you slept," said Saito as he walked out of the room and towards the stairs that led to the front door.
"I don't need to, really, but it still feels nice. After all, I do get tired, Partner," said Derf. Saito replied with an intrigued 'Hm' and the two made their way out the front door.
"Ah~," sighed Saito, happily, as he felt the morning sunshine and cool breeze on his face. "Weather's good for some practice."
"Yeah, although I can't really feel anything," said Derf, chuckling a bit. Saito grinned before pulling off Derf's scabbard and tossing it aside. He moved into a stance and began to practice slashing, slashing at the air in a straight line.
The area was silent other than the birds and wind blowing in the trees so Saito was seemingly alone. Little did he know he was being watched from above.
Tenshi was sitting outside on the roof, looking out at the sunrise, her mouth in a thin line, neither showing sadness nor happiness.
"*sigh*…I ended up not sleeping again and crying most of the night…They're going to be worried when they see me. I probably look horrible…" said Tenshi to herself. "And then when they ask, I'm just going to stutter and pause and not say anything like always…I'm such an introvert…"
"Ah~," said a voice, loudly, from below a few minutes after she had stopped speaking. Tenshi jumped, startled by the sudden voice, and she crawled over to the edge. She peered over and saw Saito walking out of the house.
"Why is he out here so early?" asked Tenshi, mostly to herself. She watched as he began to train and she was intrigued. She didn't understand why he was up so early to train when he could easily do it later in the day. "Well, maybe that's why he's the hero of Halkeginia."
She watched him for an indefinite amount of time, seeing large amounts of sweat drip down his face and onto his shirt and she wondered how much longer he was going to go. It felt like an hour or so had gone by and he was still going.
"Ugh, this shirt is soaked," complained Saito, just loud enough that she could hear him. Saito stuck Derf into the ground and began to strip off his shirt, causing Tenshi to look away, a bright blush streaked across her face. He tossed it aside and it was silent, causing her eyes to wander back to him, blushing brighter when she noticed how muscular Saito was. She tried to ignore the muscles as she tried to understand what he was doing. He was holding the sword in front of him but was unmoving.
She suddenly heard words she had never heard before echo in the air and Derf glowed before his blade retracted into his hilt, a lightning blade replacing it after a moment.
Tenshi's eyes widened at such an interesting thing and she watched him slice off a piece of a boulder, leaving the pieces cut steaming and red from the heat of the lightning blade. She hadn't noticed that she had been leaning, excessively, over the edge of the roof and she fell off, squeaking loudly in surprise as she fell. Saito looked back at her fast enough to see her flap her wings to keep her from falling to the ground.
"Tenshi?" asked Saito, confused by both her presence and why she was on the roof.
"U-Um…H-Hello S-Saito-sama," said Tenshi, nervously. Tenshi landed on the ground in front of Saito and tucked her wings behind her as Derf's blade changed back to normal.
"What were you doing up there? Even if you can fly it's dangerous," scolded Saito, not approving of his guest's actions.
"S-Sorry," said Tenshi, looking down and away, sadly.
"So…what were you doing up there? Just relaxing?" asking Saito, curiously. Tenshi nodded, hesitantly, and Saito moved to sit down on the ground. "Well, since you're here, why don't we get to know each other better! As the master of the house, it's my job to know about the people living there."
"O-Oh…um…w-what would S-Saito-sama like t-to know?" asked Tenshi, nervously.
"Hm…guess with the first and most obvious: age, likes and dislikes, and your home," said Saito, sticking out a finger as he said each.
"Um…w-well I-I'm 17 a-and I like…puppies?" said Tenshi, almost like a question.
"Hahaha! Are you sure about puppies? You don't seem too enthusiastic about them," said Saito, chuckling at her uncertainty. Tenshi blushed in embarrassment and Saito prodded her again. "What about some other likes? And dislikes, too."
"O-Oh! U-Um…I-I guess I k-kind of like f-flying…A-And dislikes are…um…c-crowded places," said Tenshi, nervously, trying to hide her eyes under her short bangs.
"Well, flying seems a bit obvious and crowded places? So I guess you're a bit introverted. You're like my sister. She loved to stay home and play games by herself or just with me instead of going out with her friends," said Saito, happily, causing Tenshi to relax a bit from her stressed posture.
He's so nice and is speaking so…calmly, with me… thought Tenshi as she watched Saito chuckle, probably at some memory.
"I-I don't like them b-because of w-where I lived…" said Tenshi, looking down at her hands which were atop her knees. She was currently kneeling in front of Saito.
"Oh yeah! You never said anything about your home. You seemed kind of down when Louise was prodding you about it. If you aren't comfortable, you don't have to talk about it. Everyone has something like that," said Saito, trying to be understanding.
"I-I really don't. T-Thank you f-for understanding," said Tenshi, looking away sadly.
"Y'know, you can talk to me if you need someone to talk to. Sometimes your problems aren't always something you can deal with on your own," said Saito, seriously.
"I…" said Tenshi, not able to pull her eyes from his when she heard his serious yet bold statement. A moment of silence passed and Saito's face turned back to his normal one.
"Well, what am I saying? You only just met me. I doubt you would trust someone you just met with your dark secrets," said Saito, chuckling, lightly.
"Um…" said Tenshi before the two were interrupted.
"Saito~-san~! Breakfast is ready! Please bring Miss Tenshi with you!" shouted Siesta from the doorway which was a bit away from the location the two were seated. Saito waved her off and she smiled before reentering the house and closing the door.
"Shall we?" asked Saito after hopping to his feet and extending his hand toward Tenshi. She blushed and hesitated before grabbing his hand and then being hoisted to her feet.
At some other point…
Julio sat in his personal library in Romalia and had a communication mirror, developed by the Valkyrie and donated to the leaders of Halkeginia for easy communication.
"So what should we do?" asked Henrietta, her reflection in the mirror.
"That is why I called you, my dear Henrietta," said Julio, slyly. "The room is basically a treasure trove of weapons for Gandalfr and has a door that seems to be for Myoznitnirn. It would be dangerous if we just release this information carelessly."
"I know, but I assumed we would just inform Saito-dono, Louise, and Miss Aingeal. This is basically meant for them only," said Henrietta, not understanding the problem.
"I don't know if I completely trust this new Void mage. I feel as though the Valkyrie may be plotting something," said Julio.
"If you have suspicions about her, then please come and visit Des Ornières. Saito would happily prove you wrong. He seemed very accepting of her and he is usually a good judge of character. Unless she was being guilted into doing something like Queen Charlotte was, I doubt she is some kind of agent as you think," said Henrietta, sternly.
"Alright, alright, my dear. Please, do not be frayed by my suspicions. I merely wish to quell my own suspicious nature. Once I meet with her and Saito, I'm sure everything will be cleared up," said Julio, trying to calm Henrietta's annoyance with him. "Until next time."
"Goodbye, Julio," said Henrietta before communications were cut.
"*sigh* She's such a fickle woman," said Julio as he leaned back into his chair, rubbing his eyes.
"Sir, we have been inspecting the door as you instructed and it is indeed for Myoznitnirn. We have also discovered several things that seem like seals and a slot along with an indentation. We believe them to be some sort of keyholes," explained a guard who had entered during Julio's conference with Henrietta.
"Ah, good. Would you mind preparing a dragon for me? I will be going to the Hiraga Duchy tomorrow and I would like to leave by tonight," said Julio, receiving a 'Yes, sir' from the guard. After the door closed, Julio sighed again. "So many things to deal with."
So? What did you guys think?
Complications with Tenshi's past, the secret door underneath Romalia, and Julio's distrust towards Tenshi and the Valkyrie. So many things to deal with.
Review and let me know what you guys thought and let me know what you think Tenshi's backstory is based on what I've told. I wonder if any of you will get it.
Anyways, until next time...byeee :D
