Hey guys, MT here!

I'm sorry that this is a short chapter but I have another scene in mind that I didn't want to add for this chapter because it's a bit long. Remember that the next chapter will be delayed because I will be moving into college so please be patient :D

Anyways, ENJOY!

Chapter 46

Several days later…

"What?! Someone attacked Germania?" asked Saito, slamming his hands down on Henrietta's desk.

"Calm down, Saito-dono. All nations of Halkeginia have been investigating the matter. Several elves have also been helping," explained Henrietta, not really relaxing Saito any.

"Good, what have you found out?" asked Saito.

"We haven't discovered much. The only thing we have discovered is that there are almost no traces of magic. Everyone is confused because they can't believe that so much destruction could have been caused without magic," said Henrietta. Saito paused and began to think for a moment. In his world it was completely possible to take out an entire town without magic. In Halkeginia, though, it wasn't.

"Hm…that isn't enough to go on. If they find out anything, please notify me immediately. We may be able to solve this mystery together," said Saito, staring, seriously, at Henrietta. She blushed at the way Saito looked at her and turned away, nodding in response to his request. "By the way, did you speak to that Dwarven translator you were talking about?"

"Sadly, no. It takes quite some time to travel between Halkeginia and the Dwarven mountains, though he should be back within a few days," said Henrietta, relaxing in her seat.

"Alright. Remember that we need to translate that book. It could have new information that we may be able to use," said Saito, causing Henrietta to smile.

"Of course, Saito-dono. I promise to get you immediately," said Henrietta. Saito smiled back and bowed to her. He smiled and waved goodbye before meeting up with Louise back in town.

Sometime later that day…

Saito, Louise, and Tenshi were sitting in the parlor, reading books while Siesta was just then bringing in some tea.

"You know, Saito-san," began Siesta, causing Saito to peek out from behind the book he was reading. "My mother had sent me a letter, asking what I would like to do for my birthday in a few months, and it occurred to me that I don't know when your birthday is. Since you arrived in Halkeginia, you have aged a couple years but your birthday never came up."

"Ah, well it isn't that important. I never really cared much about celebrating it," said Saito, trying to brush it off.

"It is important, Saito!" interjected Louise. "You always tell me not to worry about it but we already missed your 18th birthday and I don't want to miss your 19th, too."

Saito glanced at the two and sighed in defeat as he didn't want to fight two of them at once.

"Fine...my birthday is tomorrow. I actually didn't even realize it until a couple days ago because of everything that happened. And a small party only. I don't want anything big and hectic," said Saito, annoyed. Louise gasped and Tenshi was finally pulled out of her trance while reading the book.

"Siesta, quick! Contact everyone! We'll have a party tomorrow!" said Louise, rushing both her and Siesta.

"W-What's going o-on?" asked Tenshi, confused by what was going on because she had only heard the end.

"An energetic maid and wife. That's what's going on," said Saito, rolling his eyes. He drifted back to his book and Tenshi was about to do the same when she noticed Saito's neck twitch and a painful expression quickly shot across his face. It disappeared in almost an instant so she brushed it off but became concerned by it.

Sometime later…

Saito had long left the parlor, and his book, and was wandering around in search of Siesta and Louise, only to hear their voices coming from the dining room. He wandered over and began to open the door, only to be stopped by a pink blur that flew out of the door and pushed him away. The pink blur had been Louise and she was standing in front of the double doors, her arms outstretched.

"You can't go in there, Saito! We're still setting up for the party," said Louise, annoyed that Saito tried to take a peek.

"Who else is helping you? I hope you aren't bothering someone with a lot. Remember that I said a small party," said Saito, glaring at Louise.

"Yes, yes, yes. The husband will get a small party. Also some of the villagers are helping. Asuna and Gwen are also helping. I brought them over and sent letters to all of our friends," explained Louise, causing Saito to roll his eyes. Well, at least she had listened to him.

"Fine, I'll leave you be. Please don't go overboard," said Saito before turning to leave.

"Make sure you don't try to peek!" said Louise as she watched Saito go. Saito grinned and turned his neck to look at her before suddenly wincing in pain. "Saito? Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah. My neck just feels a little sore. I probably slept wrong so there's no problem," said Saito, nonchalantly waving it off.

Saito walked upstairs and Louise watched him leave, a worried expression on her face before she was called back in by Asuna.

The next day…

"Happy Birthday, Saito!" shouted Tiffa, brightly, as she and Madarf entered the Des Ornières mansion. She hugged him, tightly, eliciting a jealous look from Madarf.

"Thanks, Tiffa, Madarf. Why don't you guys go in and have fun in the party," said Saito, happily. Even though Saito knew that Louise was just inviting their friends, he kind of forgot just how many he had. Aside from Tenshi, Louise, and Siesta they had Henrietta, Tabitha, Tiffa, Madarf, Agnes, Mr. Colbert, Guiche, Montmorency, the rest of the Ondine Knights, Gwen, Asuna, Julio, Kirche, Irukuku (Sylphid), and several others who he didn't really recognize but assumed they were friends of Louise's.

After everyone had arrived, Saito and Louise moved back to the dining room and everyone cheered.

"Cheers to Saito's birthday!" shouted Guiche, throwing his arm up into the air which held a glass. Everyone mimicked him and shouted out a big 'Happy Birthday' to Saito which caused him to blush in embarrassment. He didn't really care much for birthdays but it still made him happy when everyone he held dear was there shouting out to him.

When he looked around, Louise and the others had really done a good job to tone down the extravagance of the party. It was probably Asuna, thought Saito, contently. The walls were lined with colorful streamers as well as having balloons strategically placed. The large table in the middle was covered in a beautifully embroidered table cloth and was stacked with enough food to feed everyone there for the entire day. The chairs of the dining room, as well as some from the other rooms were grouped along the walls, allowing the guests to sit at their leisure.

Saito watched Louise drift off to talk with the girls, who were grouped up gossiping, and he went to sit down in one of the chairs and relax.

"Hello, Saito," said Guiche as he fell down in the chair next to him.

"Oh, hey Guiche," said Saito, smiling over at his friend.

"How is everything going? You must be happy that the girls threw you a party," said Guiche, winking at Saito, suggestively. Saito rolled his eyes and grinned at his friend.

"Ha ha, very funny. I doubt I'm getting any present of that kind tonight. By the way how are you and Montmorency?" asked Saito, curious as to how the young flirt and his love our doing. Guiche slumped down in his seat and groaned.

"She's been angry with me for a week now. I found an absolutely gorgeous woman among the first years and couldn't help but greet her. Montmorency saw said girl kiss me and she was furious. The only reason she came here with me today was for you," explained Guiche, groaning. Saito laughed at his friend's dilemma and hissed in pain before clutching his neck. "Are you alright, Saito?"

"Ah, yeah. I think I pulled something because my neck's been hurting since yesterday. It just feels sore," explained Saito, eliciting a worried expression from Guiche.

"Hm…if it becomes unbearable, you should probably see Miss Gwendolyn. I think you may have just slept wrong, though," said Guiche. Saito muttered out a 'Yeah, probably' and the two were joined by several others before they moved the topic of conversation to women.

So? What did you guys think?

What could be wrong with Saito? Also, what kind of scene could I possibly be creating? So many questions, so little time!

Anyways, Review with ideas or to let me know how I'm doing!

Until next time...byeee :D
