Hey Guys! I'm back! Sorry about the long hiatus. Life got away from me. R&R and let me know what you think! Hopefully I'll be inspired enough to do chapter 5! ;)
Tommy stood still for about half a second in shock, watching Trent's form try to overpower Kira and force her to the ground. For a moment, Trent looked up at Tommy with the white ranger's evil eyes and smirked at him, snapping Tommy out of his shock.
"Trent Stop!"
"Trent's not here anymore!"
Doing the only thing he can think of, Tommy sprinted as fast as he could through the cave and tackled Trent away from Kira. They rolled a few feet away until Tommy pinned Trent to the floor and looked up at Kira. She was breathing harshly and nodded at him as she got up, letting him know she was alright.
"Kim's down the beach Kira! Go now!"
"But Dr. O-"
"Kira! I need Kim to get Trent back!" he shouted. He was starting to loose his grip. Trent suddenly got the upper hand and flipped Tommy over him and sent him flying into the far wall.
Kira shrieked when Tommy fell in front of her and called out to him. Tommy screamed at her to run again and stood in front of the entrance defensively, making sure Trent couldn't go after Kira. She took off out the mouth of the cave and ran across the beach looking from side to side for Kim.
\\\\\\With Kim\\\\\\\\
When Kim entered the cave, it was very anti-climatic. There was no creepy lantern lights leading down a path you see in the movies. There was no big spacious area where the gem was waiting for her to arrive. There were no boogie traps. It was a dark, cramped rock space that was pitch black and damp from the ocean. She squeezed herself between different rock formations and used her cell phone as a light to see where she was placing her feet.
A few minutes later, after standing on another rock to get leverage, she felt the metal bracelet Billy had given her begin to get warm. Not uncomfortably so, but enough so that it was noticed. Hoping that it meant she was getting closer, she moved her cell phone from side to side hoping to find another safe place to step when she began to see a glowing light out of the corner of her eye, about a foot above her head.
It started out white, but when Kim stood up straighter to try and get a better look at what was glowing, it started to turn a darker and darker shade of green. The glow dimmed for a fraction of a second, but long enough for Kim to realize what it was.
A green dino gem.
Smiling and laughing in relief, Kim stomped her foot at the irony of her height made itself known. There was one rock that would bring her right up to the gem... but if she missed her footing she would crash into the pointed rock right below it.
This is for Trent.
Taking a deep breath, Kim concentrated on where the gem was above her head and not where the rock was under her feet. Getting her balance, she put her right foot on the rock and took the leap upwards towards the gem. She felt her fingers curl around the dino gem and grasped it tightly in her fist as she landed on the sand next to the rocks like an experienced gymnast.
She smiled at her landing, and looked down at the green dino gem in her hand. She had done it. She got the gem for her son!
"Kim!"
She turned around towards the mouth of the cave and saw Kira coming towards her. "Kira stay out there! I have the dino gem and we can't risk it fighting with your dino gem!"
Kira froze, looking through the dark for Kim's flashlight. "Kim, Trent and Tommy are fighting! He needs you!"
"I'm coming out now!" she shouted as she made sure to hold the dino gem in the hand with the metal band so it would have a less chance of fighting with Kira's gem. She got to the mouth of the cave and saw Kira standing there with her arms wrapped around herself and frequently looking behind her like she was afraid of something.
"Kira what happened?"
Kira shook her head and pointed across the beaach to the rock structure Tommy and Trent were in. "Trent's still evil and Tommy's trying to fight him off." Her voice was shaky, making Kim want to comfort her and find out what happened until Tommy found her, but the obsessive pointing to the other cave made Kim run to Tommy and Trent as fast as she could so she could come back and help Kira.
"Tommy?" she called out into the dark cave. She stepped a few feet into it and found her husband and son wrestling around the floor of the cave. Thankfully, Tommy had the upper hand, but he was also on the defense.
"Tommy! Move out of the way!"
Tommy pushed Trent towards the wall of the cave and ran to the back away from both him and Kim so the gem wouldn't be anywhere near him. Trent began to use the wall to get back up when Kim and up to him and slammed the gem into his chest.
He grabbed her forearm to push her away, but froze when green sparks started to come out of the gem encased in Kim's fist.
"What the hell?"
The green sparks began to cover his body. His back arched towards Kim as he shouted out in pain. White sparks joined the green and the two colors pushed against each other around Trent's body, forcing him to fall down on all fours.
Kim backed out of the way and Tommy ran over to wrap his arms around her. He had to keep her back until the green gem finished battling with the white for control over Trent's DNA. Thankfully since the white gem was physically still with Ethan, the green gem had a little bit more control while battling. Soon the white sparks disappeared all together and the green sparks ran all over his body before disappearing. Trent fell to the floor unconscious.
"Trent!"
Kim ran towards her son and rolled him onto his back.
Tommy lifted his morpher up to his mouth to speak to Billy and Hayley.
"Guys! It worked! Trent's unconscious. Can you bring the truck to come get us?"
"You found Trent? What about the gem?" Hayley asked.
"We got the gem and it took over the white one in Trent. We need to move him to the lab though."
"Thank god! How's Kira?"
Tommy and Kim looked at each other with their eyes wide. Tommy ran out of the cave as fast as he could while Kim waited with Trent for Billy and Hayley.
"Kira!"
Tommy looked around the beach area but couldn't find her. He took a light jog farther into the open and called her name again.
"Kira!"
She still didn't answer, but he caught a glimpse of her huddled into a ball against the side of the rock formation Kim had gotten the gem out of. He ran up to her and called out her name again softly before putting his hand on her back.
She looked up at him with eyes full of fear. "Did it work?"
Tommy nodded. "Yeah Kira. Trent's okay. But are you?"
Kira let out the breath she was holding in and leaned against the rock. A small tear left her eye and made a tear track down her face.
"I'm fine."
"Kira?"
"I promise Dr. O, I'm fine."
"Kira you don't have to be brave for me. I know what Trent was about to do. I saw it."
"Please, Dr. O can we just never talk about that again?"
"Kira. Your still shaking."
"So the white ranger gone?"
"Trent is in the cave still with-"
"Not Trent!" Kira shouted. "Is the white ranger gone?"
Tommy paused for a minute. "Yeah Kira. The white ranger's gone. It's just Trent now."
"Thank god."
"Kira..."
"I don't want to talk about it. Just promise me that I never need to see that white ranger looking at me through Trent's eyes ever again."
Tommy wrapped her in his arms and picked her up bridal style. By the look in her eyes he could tell she was still in shock.
"I promise Kira. The white gem and ranger are history. You never have to worry about them again."
Kira rested her head on his shoulder. Tommy carried her up to the start of the beach and met Billy at the truck.
"Is she okay?" Billy asked as he ran out of the car.
"She'll be fine. I'll stay with her I the truck. Kim is with Trent in the cave down there. She can't carry him by herself. Let's just get these two home."
Billy nodded and ran down the beach to meet Kim. Tommy got in the back of the truck with Kira and held her against him like a father would cradle his child.
"It's over Kira. It's over."
