If I didn't know better
Early that next morning, Breanna stood into the doorway between the kitchen and the stairs, drinking juice. She heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and turned to see Jack coming down without looking at her.
''Good morning.'' She said as he walked past her without replaying her. He continued into the kitchen area. Breanna sighed and went after him.
''What's wrong?'' She asked. Jack poured himself a glass of juice and drank it all at once.
''Nothing, everything is just peachy.'' He said sarcastically.
''About what happened last night.'' She said. Jack turned around to face her and frowned his eyebrows.
''What happened last night? Oh that's right, you made me look an complete idiot.'' He spat at her. Breanna shook her head.
''You did that yourself.'' She said. Jack looked at her for a few seconds before looking away.
''Whatever.'' He said and walked around the counters and towards the front-door, grabbing his car keys onto the counter.
''Where are you going?'' She called and went after him.
''I'm going to the mansion and check up on my horse and report to your cousin. Don't sit up and wait.'' He scold before leaving the house. Breanna folded her arms across her chest and sighed.
Musa walked into the kitchen, supporting Melody at her hip. She was Tulio standing pouring some juice into a glass onto a food tray onto the counter.
''Aw Tulio you shouldn't have.'' Musa joked and grinned. Tulio laughed and turned around to look at her.
''It's for Amazonia. She's still upstairs sleeping, the baby keeps her awake at night.''
''And she's been under so much stress this last couple of weeks.'' He added. Musa nodded her head sadly.
Jack drove up the road leading to mansion, between green yards where the horses were. He pulled up and went outside and spotted Paris's mare Claudette not far away, in a pen by herself. He frowned his eyebrows and looked around for Bellator, but he where no were to be seen. He whistled to get the mares attention and she walked over to him.
''What are you doing here all alone?'' He said as he stroke her over the head before going back to the car and drove up into the mansion courtyard. He got back out of the car and walked inside the stable and saw the dark brown stallion with a white blaze, standing into his box.
''There you are.'' Jack sighed in relief as he went inside the box, only to find a bandage wrapped around Bellator's left foreleg.
''What has that evil witch done to you?'' He said and stroke the horse over his neck. Jack stayed there for a few minutes before going into mansion and into the study, finding Zandra sitting there. She looked up by the sound of the door and sighed.
''Great.'' She hissed and turned back to her papers.
''Aw I love you too.'' Jack said sarcastically and sat down onto the chair opposite her. Zandra didn't bother to look at him.
''Where's Paris?'' Jack added.
''He's not back yet. I guess you know he left yesterday.'' Zandra replied him as she continued her paperwork.
''Yeah, he went to see Chel. I'm the one who told him to go.'' He said. Now, Zandra looked up at him and glared at him angrily.
''Why doesn't that surprise me?'' She hissed. Jack grinned and comfortable leaned back into his seat.
''You're not losing control over him are you?'' He asked. Zandra frowned her eyebrows and looked at him.
''Did you want something Jack? I have more important things to do.'' She spat.
''Actually I do. What have you done to my horse?!'' He hissed at her. Zandra laid her pen down at the desk and leaned back into her seat.
''It's just a light sprain, he'll be fine in a day or two. The other horses had to be vaccinated and we needed one extra horse. It was only Bellator and Claudette who was available. And now when it gets closer to the birth, I just thought that it would be better if Claudette past.'' Zandra said.
''I thought you would understand that since you own half of that foal.'' She added. Jack hated to admit it, but for once she was right. Jack nodded and sighed.
''Okay, but in the future you ask me before you take him. You might think you God behind that desk, but Leon gave him to me the day he was born, Bellator is mine.'' Jack hissed and stood up. Zandra nodded her head.
''You got it.'' She said and looked up at him.
''How's the girl doing?'' She asked. Jack frowned his eyebrows and folded his arms across his chest.
''She's fine, why wouldn't she be?'' Zandra shrugged her shoulders and a grin grew across her lips.
''I would understand if she wasn't. I mean, if I had you drooling over me the whole time I wouldn't be.'' She said. Jack chuckled and leaned over the desk.
''I would rather eat broken glass, then even consider make a move on you honey.'' He whispered before kissing the air, making Zandra's grin disappear and he walked back to the door.
''You enjoy the time you have left here, because when you screw up, I'm personally going to drag you out of here.'' She said making him turn back around to face her. Jack smirked.
''When it comes to Paris to choose between our friendship or a relationship with you, I'm not worried about being tossed aside. '' He said.
''Now if it would be me or Chel, that might would tip the balance tremendously.'' He added and turned back to the door again and opened it before turning back once more.
''About me leaving, you ask Paris about that and see what he thinks about it.'' He added before leaving the study. Zandra crumbled a piece of paper and threw it at the door angrily. There was a deep from the fax machine behind her and she took the paper and read it.
''Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse.'' She sighed sadly.
Breanna sat down into the couch with her feet up reading. She heard the front door slam shut and soon she saw Jack coming from the hallway and walked into the kitchen.
''What did Paris say?'' She asked and glanced up at him from her book.
''He wasn't there. I had a nice talk with Zandra though.'' He said and took a bottle of water from the fridge
''I wonder where she's coming from, the terrarium zoo probably.'' He spat and walked over to sit down next to her. She looked at him suspiciously for a second, but eventually went back to her book. Jack took a sip of his water before placing one hand onto Breanna's lower leg.
''Don 't do that.'' She said. He turned around to look at her and took another sip of water.
''Why not?'' He asked.
''Because it makes me feel uncomfortable.'' She spat at him.
''Why can't you just admit that you feel something for me?'' Jack said and turned to look at her. Why was she being so stubborn?
''You really want to know why? Because Paris told me everything about you, I know what you are.'' She yelled. Jack looked at her shocked.
''And because of that, I don't trust myself with you.'' She hissed angrily before standing up and run up the stairs. A few seconds later, Jack could hear her bedroom door slam shut. Jack sighed heavily and ran a hand through his black hair.
Zandra sat inside her and Paris's study, still looking at the paper that had arrived an hour earlier. She sighed heavily and crumbled the paper into a ball and threw it into the trash bin. She starred into empty space and she didn't notice when Paris came into the room, after coming back from Ruby.
''What's wrong?'' He asked concerned and placed the papers he was holding down onto the desk. Zandra didn't even seem to notice that he was in the room until he waved his hand in front of her face.
''Hello?'' He said and Zandra finally snapped out of her thoughts.
''What?'' She asked and looked up at him confused. Paris smiled slightly and sat down opposite her.
''What's wrong? You obviously don't live in this part of the dimension anymore.'' He said. Zandra sighed deeply and looked down into her lap.
''Nick gets his sentence tomorrow.'' She whispered and turned her head to look outside the window. Paris could feel his own spirit sinking all the way down to the bottom.
''Do you want to go there? I can come with you if you want.'' He asked. Zandra turned back to look at him sadly and thought for a second before shaking her head.
''I can't face him.'' She whispered and looked down into her lap again, clutching onto her uniform jacket.
''I betrayed him, I won't be able to look him in the eyes ever again.'' She added. Paris frowned his eyebrows and leaned forward slightly.
''You betrayed him?'' He spat slightly, even if her didn't mean to. But what he just had heard surprised him. Zandra looked up at Paris again.
''I know what he's done, and I don't excuse any of it. But he's my brother, I'm all that he has left.'' She said.
''Even if I did the right thing to side with you, I still betrayed him.'' She sighed.
''Okay, that's enough.'' Paris said and walked behind the desk and swirled the chair around and kneeled down before her.
''You have no reason to be ashamed about what happened to Nick, okay?'' He said and grabbed a hold of Zandra's shoulders.
''But Paris.'' Zandra protested but Paris interrupted her.
''No Zan. No matter what happens to Nick, it's not your fault!'' He added. They looked at each other for a few seconds before Paris embraced her. Zandra rested her head onto his shoulder and sighed sadly.
''If you change your mind, I meant what I said before. If you want to go there, I'll go with you.'' He whispered.
Later at night, Jack stood outside Breanna's bedroom door. He sighed deeply and hesitated for awhile. He eventually knocked onto the door and soon a weak voice came from inside telling him to come inside. Slowly, he opened the door and saw her sitting at the end of her bed.
''I uh... I just wanted to apologise about before.'' He said and sighed. She turned to look at him slightly, but didn't reply him.
''I promise, I won't cross the line again. Do you think we could just start over?'' He asked. Breanna turned around to look at him properly this time, and slowly nodded her head.
''Thank you.'' She said. Jack smiled slightly and was about to leave, but she called his name and made him turn back around to look at her again.
''I just got off the phone with my mom.'' She said. Jack walked over to sit down next to her.
''I want to go back home and visit my family, only for a day or two. Do you think that you can come with me?'' She asked. Jack thought for a second before smiling and nodding his head.
''Sure.'' He said.
It was almost midnight, and Paris stood into his private suit unpacking from his trip to Ruby. He thought back at what had happened with Chel. He went there to find out what made her leave him, but it had only made him even more confused. He sighed and ran a hand through his dark brown hair, when he heard a knock onto the door. He went to open it and saw Zandra standing outside.
''Zan, what is it?'' He asked and frowned his eyebrows slightly. She sighed deeply and folded her arms across her chest.
''I changed my mind. I need to be there.'' Paris nodded and smiled.
''Okay, we'll go there tomorrow.'' He said. Zandra nodded before the two of them shared a hug.
Early the next morning, Amazonia laid half-asleep into her and Tulio's bedroom. She had been tired with last couple of days, mostly because the baby kept on moving around disturbing her sleep. She grunted and stroke her growing belly softly.
''If you only could be still for awhile little one.'' She sighed and flipped her pillow over at the cold side. Suddenly, strange things started to happen. She could her muffled sounds of somebody arguing. But she wasn't sure if it came from the outside the door or inside her head. Then she could see herself and Tulio standing towards each other. Herself looked really upset as she yelled at Tulio, still with a muffled voice. Tulio stood with his eyes closed and with his hands onto his waist, himself looking irritated, trying to say something but Amazonia wouldn't let him. Then the muffled voices became clearer.
''You know something about Chel and Paris don't you? You know something that all of us don't? Don't you?!'' She yelled at her husband. Tulio tied his palms into tight fists.
''Okay fine, I admit it! I did it.'' Tulio hissed with burning cheeks that almost matched his flaming red hair. Amazonia stood and looked at him in shock. Then it all disappeared again. Amazonia jolted up in bed and breathed heavily. It couldn't be.
Amazonia wasn't tired anymore. She stood by the windows looking outside down onto the courtyard. Her thought went back to her dream or whatever it now was. Of course she had suspected that Chel might have told Tulio something that she hadn't shared with the others, but that Tulio was in some way involved, she couldn't believe something like that. In that moment, she heard the door open and somebody step inside.
''You're awake?'' Tulio's voice said from behind her. She turned around and looked at him. He stood there with a few papers in hand and looked at her.
''Something wrong?'' He asked concerned and frowned his eyebrows. Amazonia looked at him for a few seconds.
''You tell me.'' She replied him and walked around the bed and stopped about two metres away from him. Tulio placed the papers at the sideboard besides him and closed the gap between himself and his wife.
''Tell you what?'' He asked. Amazonia folded her arms across her chest.
''You haven't talked with Chel lately have you?'' She asked. Tulio frowned his eyebrows at her.
''A few hours ago, why?'' He asked and
''Anything about Paris?'' Tulio frowned his eyebrows again and walked around her and over to the bathroom.
''No, she still won't talk about it.'' He replied her and pulled of his shirt before going inside the bathroom.
''Really? So you don't happen to know what happen between them? You might even have a part in it?'' She called after him. It took a few seconds, but soon Tulio stood into the doorway with frowned eyebrows. He tried to hide it well, but she could see that a part of him started to get nervous.
''A part in what?'' He asked her and walked back to her.
''You know something about Chel and Paris? You know something that all of us don't? Don't you?!'' She yelled at her husband, she barely stopped to take the time to breath. Tulio tied his palms into tight fists. Every time he would open his mouth to say something, she would yell at him even louder. He tried his best to stay calm and watch what he said, but then he let it slip out.
''Okay fine, I admit it! I did it.'' Tulio hissed with burning cheeks that almost matched his flaming red hair. Amazonia stood and looked at him in shock.
''I lied to Chel so that she would break-up with Paris! Alright?'' He hissed.
Oh my god! How could Tulio possibly talk himself out of this situation? Will he be able to convince Amazonia to stay quite or will she go to Chel and Paris and tell them everything? And what really happened to Amazonia?
How will Nick react to see his sister again? Especially together with Paris?
Next time, Amazonia confronts Tulio about Chel and Paris, Zandra and Paris goes to Nick's trial, Breanna and Jack's takes a road trip.
