Just the girl I'm looking for
Paris starred at the man in front of him. What he just had heard still echoed inside his head, still he wasn't sure if he had heard right or not.
''You... you're Teddy's father?'' He asked in confusion. Gabe nodded his head and it felt like someone tied a knot of Paris inwards. But soon the confusion changed into anger.
''So, if what you say is true and I suppose that you want to him back, being a real father to him?'' Paris said sarcastically and folded his arms across his chest.
''That's the idea, yes.'' Gabe replied him. Paris glared at him for a few seconds.
''Then why didn't you? Why did you let him stroll around the streets all alone, for who knows how long? Do you have any idea what kind of state Teddy was in when Chel and I found him?'' Paris hissed angrily.
''Hold on, just let me explain myself. I didn't abandon him, not really. He was taken from me.'' Gabe said. Paris and all of the others frowned their eyebrows. Chel finally looked up but still sniffled quietly.
''Eight years ago, my wife Rafeala gave birth to Teddy, but she died during childbirth, she barely managed to name him. I was devastated, broken in so many ways. I spent all of my time drinking and Teddy was taken away from me.'' Gabe said. Paris still didn't move or show any other kind of emotion other then disgust.
''He was put into a foster-home, I don't really know much about what happened after there, including how he ended up into the streets.'' Gabe added before turning over to the woman besides him and took her hand and smiled.
''I eventually meet Scar and she helped me sober up and get through this and now I'm here to take my son back. He should be with his biological father.'' Paris marched back over to Chel and kneeled down before her.
''There has to be something we can do.'' He whispered to her.
''We can't, he has the right to take him.'' Chel said and leaned back into the throne. Paris's turned his attention to Gabe again when he had cleared his throat slightly. He saw him holding a piece of paper and Paris stood up and walked over to him. He yanked the paper angrily away from Gabe and gave him a sour glare before he read the document in his hand. And once again and giant knot formed inside him. He covered his face with the palm of his hand and let out a deep sigh.
''Does Teddy know about this yet?'' He asked and looked back up and outside the windows.
''No, Riven and Musa took him and Melody out about an hour ago.'' He heard Chel sniffle from her seat.
''I'm really sorry. Here's my card, I'll be in touch.'' He said and handled a card to Paris, before he and Scarlett left. When the big doors closed, everyone of them was quiet for a long time, before Chel finally stood up and stretched out her clothes.
''I… I need to be alone for awhile.'' She said before she hurried out of the room. Paris looked over at Amazonia, and it was like he could read her mind. And he didn't need to be told twice. He followed her.
The waves flushed up onto the white sand and birds chirruped happily in distance. Even if this place was more or less paradise, both Jack and Breanna needed a break from the burning sun. Jack laid into the hammock placed into shadow of the palm trees, lost in his own thoughts. Thoughts about Zandra, and how he possibly could find a way to put her in her place. Paris and how he possibly could get him back together with Chel, where he belonged. And then there was his own love-life, if it now could be consider a love life. He glanced down at Breanna, laying on her back in her bikini on the sand next to him. His eyes travelled all over her, from her long auburn hair scattered all around her face too her closed eyes, those glistering dark green eyes of hers. His own eyes travelled past her soft pink lips down below her neck, when he quietly sighed sadly and turned his head away.
Paris walked up to the door leading to Teddy's bedroom. He sighed sadly before grabbing the handle and peeked inside, seeing Chel sitting on top of the bed with a stuffed teddy-bear in her hand. Paris closed the door behind him and walked slowly over to her and sat down by her side. They sat there together for a few minutes, in silence, except Chel's soft sobs. Paris wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
''It's not fair.'' Chel sobbed as she rested her head onto Paris's shoulder. He let out a deep sigh and rubbed her upper-arm, comforting her. He knew how much Teddy meant to Chel, because he meant just as much to him, maybe even more to her.
''I know.'' He replied her. When he could hear Chel's sobs become louder and more tears escaped her eyes, Paris got up from the bed and kneeled down before her and cupped her face and made her face him.
''Listen to me, that's enough.'' He said and dried a few tears away from her cheeks with his thumbs. Chel turned her head away again, but Paris made her face him away.
''Look at me. I'm here, you know I'm on your side.'' He added.
''You heard what he said Paris, what can we do?'' Chel sniffled with her mascara smudged slightly.
''He doesn't have the right, there is no way. We'll think of something.'' He said as he sat back down next to her again.
''I'm going to make an DNA-test and then we'll have to work from there. If there even is a slight chance that Gabe is the wrong person, then I'll know about it.'' He said. Chel wiped off her mascara with her finger and looked at him confused.
''A DNA-test? How're you going to manage that? Do you even have any DNA from Gabe?'' She asked.
''I've the card that he gave me, it's full of his fingerprints. Don't worry about it, Jack has an old friend, a pure genius, that owns him a favour. I'm sure he can convince him to help us.'' Paris smiled slightly and took a tissue out of his pocket onto his jacket and reached into the pocket of his trousers and took out the card Gabe had given him earlier, with the tissue and wrapped it inside and placed it back into his pocket before turning back to look at Chel.
''Do you want me to stay here for the night?'' He asked and placed his hand onto hers. She surprised looked down at their hands before looking back up at him. For the moment, the anger she felt towards Paris was gone. She was glad that it was just him that sat next to her. But she shook her head.
''No, you should go back to the mansion.'' She said and looked down to dry the last tear from her eye.
''Are you sure?'' He asked. She only nodded without looking up at him. Paris nodded sadly and stood up and walked over to the dresser in front of him. He took out another tissue and picked up a small ball that he knew was filled with Teddy's fingerprints and put it into his pocket before once again turning back to Chel.
''If you need anything, just call okay? Anytime.'' He said. Chel finally looked up at him and nodded with a weak smile. They looked at each other sadly one last time before Paris left the room, leaving Chel all alone again. She looked next to her and saw the teddy-bear and picked it up. She clutched hard to it and started to cry again. How would she ever be able to take a single breath without Teddy. How would she find the strange to get out of bed every morning, if she knew that he wasn't going to be there to brighten her day. She placed one hand onto her stomach, and for the first time she could actually start to feel the beginning of a bump. She knew that she would love this baby just as much as Teddy, but could it ever replace him?
Amazonia sat in front of her mirror, wiping of the dark pink lipstick from her lips and turned around to face Tulio, who sat on the bed starring at her.
''Was it necessary to bring him here?'' He asked her and frowned his eyebrows. Amazonia leaned back and put both of her hands onto her growing stomach and sighed.
''I thought that he should know. You might not know this but Teddy means just as much to Paris that he does to Chel.'' Amazonia said and stood up to walk over to him.
''Don't give me that. Paris doesn't care about anyone else but himself.'' He hissed as she sat down next to him.
''That's not true. He loves Chel and Teddy, despite your fiddling.'' She said and frowned her eyebrows. Tulio stood up and walked around the room.
''You're aware that this can ruin everything right?'' He asked her and stopped, leaning up against the wall.
''Or it can solve itself. Maybe this will bring Chel and Paris back together without anyone finding out the truth about what you did.'' She replied him. Tulio ran a hand through his hair and shook his head.
The full-moon reflected into the ocean-waves. Breanna walked inside from the deck and closed the glass sliding door. She walked over to one of the grey two-seated couches and sat down into one of them and wrapped a blanket tightly around her.
''It's too hot during the day and freezing at night.'' She said and drew her knees up to her chest under the blanket to warm herself. Jack made a noise in agreement from the other couch.
''Yeah, I'm surprised that it hadn't started to rain and storm yet.'' He said. Breanna frowned her eyebrows and looked at him confused.
''What?'' She asked. Jack looked at her for a second.
''Chel. She's the fairy of weather. The weather on Eldorado usually changes depending on her emotions. I just guessed that there was going to be a storm coming.'' He said. Breanna nodded before they sat there together in silence and looked into the sparkling fire from the small fireplace. Breanna glanced over at Jack and bit her lip slightly.
''Have you heard something more? From Paris?'' She asked. Jack turned his head to look at her before sighing.
''No, but he was going to keep in touch if something new happened.'' He replied her sadly. Breanna sat and looked at him in silence, before he spoke again.
''I feel most sorry for Chel. I know how much Teddy means to her.'' He added.
''She really does feel for him like her own son. And Paris did too, they were going to get married, adopt him and everything.'' He said and ran a hand through his black hair and closed his eyes.
''How about you?'' Breanna asked. Jack turned to look at her again, confused.
''What about me?'' He asked.
''Could you see yourself having kids?'' She asked and stretched out her legs across the couch. Jack thought for a second before shrugging his shoulders.
''I don't know.'' He said and frowned his eyebrows and turned to look up at the ceiling.
''I guess one day. How about you?'' He said and turned back. A small smile crept upon Breanna's lips and she nodded.
''I know it sounds silly, but I've always had this dream about a small house with a white picket fence surrounding it. My husband comes home from work, the kids and I coming outside to great him and he kisses me on the cheek.'' Breanna starred off into thin air before snapping out of her trance. When she realised what she just had said, she immediately got embarrassed. She jumped up from the couch and stood there for a second.
''I'm tired, I'm going to bed.'' She said shortly and walked away.
''Wait!'' Jack called after her and she slowly spun around. A small smirk grew across Jack's lips.
''That husband, what does he look like?'' He asked. Breanna's cheeks blushed slightly, but her eyebrows frowned.
''I don't know. He doesn't have a face yet.'' She replied him quickly before continuing up the stairs. Jack's smirk grew even wider. He knew that he had promised to back off, but he had always been raised to go after what he wanted. And that's exactly what he was going to do. He's going to sweep Breanna off her feet.
Paris laid on top of the desk, snoring slightly. He woke up with tug when the door closed and he saw Spencer standing in front of him. Paris grunted and shook his head.
''Hey son.'' Spencer said and sat down opposite him. Paris yawned and rubbed his eyes as he replied with a weak hi.
''Have you been up all night?'' Spencer said and frowned his eyebrows.
''Yeah, I've been looking for something that could help us to keep Teddy.'' Paris replied him and leaned back into his chair and yawned again.
''Anything?'' Paris sighed and shook his head sadly, before standing up and grabbed his jacket.
''Well, I'm just going to stop by the beach-house, then I'm going back to the palace to see Teddy. I'll have to talk to you later.'' Paris said and walked towards the door. Spencer nodded his head.
''We'll have to do something soon, you, me, your mom and you cousin. It's about time we get to know each other.'' He said and stood up as well.
''Yeah, of course.'' Paris said stressed as he rushed outside.
''Give Chel my best.'' Spencer called after him before turning back and walked behind the desk and looked through the papers. Soon he found what he was looking for and wrote down something on a piece of paper before leaving.
Only thirty minutes later, Spencer sat onto an open-air café and watched as the inhabitants walked up and down the road between the many shops, coffeehouses, bars and restaurants. He looked at his watch for the second time within a minute. When he looked up again, he saw Gabe looking around. The two of them exchanged eye contact and nodded. He walked over to Spencer and sat down opposite him.
''Gabriel Reed I presume?'' Spencer asked. Gabe nodded his head and the two of them shook hands.
''Spencer Lestrange. I understand you've meet my son, Paris.'' He asked. Gabe frowned his eyebrows for a second but soon nodded his head.
''Yes, so I suppose it's about Teddy you wanted to meet me for.'' He asked. Spencer nodded.
''I want you to rethink taking back custody of Teddy.'' He said. Spencer's statement seemed to come like a slap across Gabe's face.
Oh my god, I'm so sorry that this chapter has been taken so long time. And even its slightly shorter then I would have liked it to be, it's still better than nothing right?
Will the DNA-tests turn out so that Gabe is the biological father of Teddy? And if it is, will Spencer be able to get him to change his mind about taking Teddy back? Or will Chel and Paris figure out something else for them to be able to keep him. And when will Chel finally tell Paris about the baby, or will she even have a baby to tell him about?
So what do you think, does Jack start to have Breanna wrapped around his finger? Or maybe it's the other way around? How will this end? And the husband that Breanna dreams about, what does he look like really?
Next time: Jack tries to charm Breanna again, Someone shares a kiss, who? Gabe returns to the palace.
