His best days are some of my worst
Today was the day. It was the only subject that everyone would talk about. There was always a big buzz around a royal wedding, and for some reason it seemed that everyone was more excited about this wedding then Riven's or Tulio's.
Maybe it was the fact that everybody knew Chel better. Riven left when he was sixteen to attend Red Fountain and escape the tragedy that his little brother had been murdered, or so they thought. Tulio was believed to be dead by the age of twelve. For almost five years, Chel had been the only child present of the royal family.
Maybe it was the fact that Paris wouldn't take on the title prince, no he would only be known as Sir or Lord as most.
Or maybe it was that for the first time in history that the ceremony would be held outside the palace gates, just some close family and friends would attend.
Yes, for some reason this wedding seemed to be more special in some way. And that must say a lot since the previous newcomers to the family had been a member of the famous Winx Club and the other had lived for the first eighteen years of her life as a mermaid. This is not something that you would see every day in Eldorado, or nowhere else for that matter. But for Chel, this was the day that she would finally, even if he practically wouldn't be, got her prince.
She sat into her old bedroom at the palace, by her dressing table and watched herself in the reflection of the mirror as Amazonia worked onto her hair. In less than a day, she would be Mrs Paris Lestrange. She had a wonderful son and she would have another one of daughter in a couple of months. Yes, her life was absolutely perfect. And nothing was going to mess that up.
Chel snapped out of her bliss when her phone started buzzing. She looked at it and a smile grew across her lips as she placed the phone back down and looked at Amazonia in the mirror.
''It was Breanna. She's going to be here any minute.'' She said, earning a smile back from Amazonia. In that moment, the door opened and Musa walked inside with a black bag in her hands.
''You were lucky, they only had to make a minor change.'' She said as she hung it onto the door into the walk-in-closet. Chel started beaming again. Because she knew that inside that black bag was the dress. Her wedding dress.
In a very different part of Eldorado, with a very different opinion to this wedding, Nick sat onto the bed inside his cell. In his hands he held a news-paper with Paris and Chel smiling happily under the headline Royal wedding today onto the first-page. He glared angrily down at Paris. No matter how much he hated to see Zandra suffering, he couldn't deny that he wasn't relieved that Paris out of Zandra's personal life forever. And he had a good reason to. But then a part of him felt sorry for the princess, did she really knew that kind of man she was sharing her bed with?
''You enjoy your life will you still can.'' Nick said before he heard the bars into his cell open and looked up to see a man dressed in a light grey uniform standing inside the opening.
''Come on, you have a visitor.'' He said. Nick placed the newspaper down onto his bed before following the man down the corridor past the many cells filled with Eldorado's criminals. They continued out into one of the visiting rooms and Nick saw Zandra standing there with her back facing him. He figured that she might come today. He sighed sadly as he was being let inside and walked over to her.
''Hey sis.'' He said, making Zandra turn around to face him. Her honey-colored eyes glistering with tears.
''Tough day huh?'' Zandra didn't answer him. All she did was to wrap her arms around his neck and rested her head onto his shoulder and let out a deep sad sigh.
Musa and Amazonia had gone down to check up how it all went down-stairs, leaving Chel on her own for a while.
She sat wrapped in her white silky robe onto her bed as she smiled down at her cell-phone as she looked through the pictures of her and Paris. If you told her two months ago that she would be here today, well she would not believe you.
There was a knock on the door and Topaz peeked inside.
''Someone is here to see you.'' The queen smiled before stepping aside to allow her eldest son to enter.
''Hey.'' Riven smiled. A wide grin grew across Chel's lips as she stood up.
''Hi. Can you believe it?'' She asked as the two of them meet and exchanged a hug.
''Well, yes I can.'' He replied with a smile as they parted.
''Once you decided Paris was the one, he didn't stand a chance.'' He added. Chel smiled and frowned her eyebrows slightly.
''I don't know about that. It got a little iffy for a while, but it turned out right.'' She replied before they both turned around to look at their mother as some muffled sobs came from her.
''Uhoh, here come the waterworks.'' Riven said and grinned.
''Now it's just… stop it.'' Topaz smiled as she dried a tear from her cheek.
''It's just that it's not every day your daughter gets married.'' She added.
''Mom.'' Chel whimpered and rushed over to embrace her mother.
''Hey! What about me and Tulio, what are we? Chopped liver?'' He said and walked over to them. Topaz smiled and stroke the chin of her eldest son.
''Come here.'' He said and wrapped one arm each around their shoulders and pulled them both in for a hug.
Back at the mansion there was some final wedding preparations going on too. Paris stood by the full-length mirror and tried to get his collar of his uniform right, but for some reason it was impossible.
''Can you please help me with this.'' He said annoyed and turned around to Spencer who just had finished with his cufflinks.
''You know what, your collar is not straight yet. But you are a big, strong, handsome strappy guy. Remind me quite a bit of your old man.'' Spencer smirked as he started to straightening out Paris's collar.
''You know your humility is my favorite thing about you.'' Paris chuckled as Spencer brushed off Paris's shoulder sleeves.
''So wise one, do you have some valuable lessons on my wedding day.'' Paris smiled.
''On your wedding day. Your wedding day.'' Spencer smiled widely and pulled his lost son in for a hug and gave him a pat on the back.
''And he's marrying the right girl on top of it.'' They both turned around to see Jack standing into the doorway. Spencer smiled because they both knew that just like Jack, Spencer thought that Chel was the right one for Paris. However Paris, sighed and looked at Jack.
''Yeah, I need to talk to you about that.'' Paris folded his arms and gave Jack a serious look.
''You need to back of Zandra. She's going through enough right now without you making it worse.'' He said. Jack's chin dropped.
''Me?'' He spat.
''Jack, you're my best friend and I love you but I'm serious. No snarky comments, no more nicknames and you're going to treat her with respect.'' Jack frowned his eyebrows.
''I'll give her my respect when she deserves it.'' Jack said coldly. Jack had many good qualities, but his stubbornness was one that Paris could find stressful and aggravating at times.
''I've just destroyed her life and the last thing we need right now is you rub it in her face.''
''If she give you any grief, you turn around and you walk away. Understood?'' Paris said, but Jack remained quite.
Paris knew that Jack and Zandra couldn't really tolerate each other at the moment and he knew why, but if they kept on putting each other down every opportunity they got, eventually things would go overboard.
''Understood?'' Paris repeated in a louder and stricter voice. Jack groaned and nodded.
''Who knows what she might do. Let's just hope that she's smart enough to keep herself as far away from her brother as possible.'' Paris sighed. Because that could turn into a disaster.
Nick and Zandra sat down by the table in the small room, opposite each other. Zandra sighed deeply and rested her elbows onto the table.
''I can't believe that after everything me and Paris have been through, it ends with him and Chel together.'' She said in a weak voice and looked at Nick. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders slightly.
''Kids changes things.'' He replied her. Zandra nodded her head.
''I know it does.'' She whispered sadly.
''I think the anticipation of the wedding is worse than when it really happens. Because when they are married, what other choice do I have than to move on.'' She shrugged her shoulders. Nick chuckled and frowned his eyebrows.
''My god Zan, would you look at you. You got beauty, brains, charms and you're damn smart too. I know ten guys at the top of my head that would cut their arms off to go out with you.'' He smiled. Zandra chuckled slightly.
''Thanks, but just the thought of another guy right now…'' She said and looked away.
''Not even Oliver?'' Nick said with a weak smile and frowned his eyebrows slightly. Zandra looked back at him before looking down into her lap. For some reason, this had surprised her.
''He's sweet. And he cares about me.'' She said.
''And you care about him too.'' Nick smiled.
''I do.'' She nodded and smiled.
''I don't know, maybe after some time has passed.'' She said. But if she was going to be honest, the thought of Oliver and her in that way had never crossed her mind.
''Well maybe is a start.'' Nick said.
''I'm sorry, you just be so tired off me mopping around, being sad. I'm sorry.'' Zandra groaned and shook her head.
''No, I totally get it. It's hard to lose someone, especially when it's someone that you love.'' The last part, Nick had to say with gritted teeth in order for him not to vomit by the thought of referring to loving Paris.
''Besides, isn't that what brothers are for?''He smiled, earning one back from her.
Breanna had managed to get to the palace in time for her to be pampered as well. Amazonia did her hair in long auburn curls hanging over her shoulder. When she saw the dress, she died a little. The most beautiful dress she had worn was a short and very simple light blue summer dress at her sister's wedding. But this. A long light pink strapless dress with silk and tulle shirt, and the top covered in teeny tiny diamonds. She died even more when she actually had put it on and saw herself in the mirror.
She stood and started at herself for a few seconds before Musa turned up into the mirror behind her.
''You look beautiful.'' She smiled. Breanna didn't get the chance to answer before the doors to Chel's closet opened and outside she stepped. Amazonia, Musa and Breanna's chins dropped.
Dressed in a long white dress with a tulle shirt and lace all the way to her wrists, Chel stood with the widest smile ever.
''Oh my god.'' Amazonia whispered. The three of them stood there speechless and just starred at her. Chel laughed.
''If Paris doesn't marry you, I'll.'' Breanna smiled.
''I saw her first.'' Musa smiled and the four of them laughed. Amazonia looked at Musa.
''I think it's time for our… surprise.'' She said and frowned her eyebrows.
''Yeah, I think you're right.'' Musa smiled and nodded. Chel frowned her eyebrows as the both of them walked over to the door and both picked up a bag each and walked back over to Chel and Breanna.
''We have something for you.'' Musa said and reached over her small bag over to her sister-in-law.
''What is this?'' Chel smiled and reached into the bag and took out a small box in white silk and opened it. Inside was a hair clip covered in small diamonds and rubies. Chel gasped slightly and smiled.
''It's gorgeous.'' She whispered. Amazonia reached out her bag and Chel placed Musa's hair clip onto her dressing-table before accepting Amazonia's larger bag. Inside she found a rectangular box and inside was a pair of white high heels, decorated with sea pearls and sapphires by the back of the shoe.
''I love you guys.'' Chel sobbed as she placed the box onto the dressing-table as well before embracing both Amazonia and Musa at the same time. There was a knock on the door and Topaz looked inside once again.
''How are things going in he…'' She said before she was interrupted when she saw Chel.
''Alright guys, I think that's our cue to leave.'' Musa whispered and she, Amazonia and Breanna left.
''You look beautiful.'' Topaz sighed as she stroke her daughters cheek. Chel smiled and hugged her.
''I love you mom.'' Chel whispered. Topaz smiled and reached out her hand for Chel to take, which she did and they walked over to sit down onto the bed.
''I've something for you.'' Topaz reached over a black box in velvet.
''What's this?'' Chel smiled before she opened it and gasped. Inside was a simple, but beautiful and valuable diamond necklace. However the value to Chel was different then it would be to others since it once belonged to her paternal grandmother.
''Oh mom.'' Chel sighed as she tried to keep her make-up as flawless as possible.
''Astoria gave me that many years ago.'' Topaz smiled.
''And she told me that when the day came, I would give it to you.'' She added and brushed a curl of hair from her face.
''I wish she could have been here.'' Chel sighed as she trailed her fingers over the shiny diamond.
''And granddad.'' She added and looked over at her mother. Topaz nodded.
''I know.'' She smiled. There was a knock onto the door. Topaz stood up and walked over to the door.
''And there is my second surprise.'' She smiled and opened the door. And to Chel's surprise, outside stood Ruby. Small and slightly pale, but by the looks of it, strong under the circumstances.
''What are you doing here?'' Chel exclaimed, or it was more of a squeal.
''If I'm going to spend eternity underground, I'm not going before I've attended my granddaughters wedding.'' The older woman said as she made her way over to Chel and sat down next to her onto the bed.
''Are you sure you up for this?'' Chel said in a concerned voice. Ruby gave her a warning look and Chel smiled. She knew that look, she received that every time she would questioning Ruby's wellbeing.
''Sorry.'' Chel giggled. Ruby smiled and leaned down to pick up her purse and took out a package of tissue paper and reached it over to Chel.
''Another one?'' She laughed and unwrapped the paper and inside she found white lace. It took a few second before she realized what it was. It was a veil.
''It was mine.'' Ruby smiled.
''My daughters have worn it before you, except your mother of course. But now I want you to have it.'' She added. She didn't know if it was her pregnancy hormones or something else, but Chel started to cry again.
In only a matter of minutes, the ceremony would begin. Under the cherry blossoms, a few chairs stood lined up in front of the small stream. Paris already stood in the front at the small wooden bridge under a vault of cherry blossoms with the minister.
Most of the guest where already seated. Tulio shot a dirty glare once in awhile over at Paris but he managed to ignore it. Like Chel had said, Amazonia could handle him if she needed to. Riven sat and small talked together with Spencer, Musa and Fiona showed Ruby and Onyx the hundreds of photos of Melody in her flower girl dress while Topaz and Bonnie sat together with their handkerchiefs ready.
Now the nerves started to kick in. Paris had never felt this dizzy before. Reality hit him. In less than half-an-hour he was going to be a married man. He was going to spend the rest of his life together with the woman he loved. Chel was going to be his wife. A wide goofy grin grew across his lips.
A bit further away from the others, Breanna stood and directed the last touches of Chel. A curl of hair that was in the wrong place, securing the veil, smoothing out the flawless silk and lace gown. Miguel was straightening Teddy and Melody out, which turned out to be more difficult that you would think. Being the curious and stubborn nearly two-year old that she is, Melody rather run around play with all of the flowers than to attend something that she didn't even understand. Luckily Jack was faster than the toddler and managed to bring her back.
But as soon as she could hear her mother's flute, Melody became just as well behaved as she was able to. Teddy took Melody's small hands in his slightly larger one as they both slowly made their way towards the aisle. Many 'oohs' and 'awws' were said as the cousins made their way down the aisle of cherry blossoms dressing in a small tuxedo and a small white lace dress with a pink ribbon around her waist, taking their seats, Teddy next to Topaz and Melody in her father's lap.
Breanna took her bouquet of callas and cherry blossoms and linked arm with Jack. As the Maid of Honor and Best Man, there are supposed to do down the aisle together. While they slowly walked together to Musa's flute, Jack leaned down slightly.
''I need to speak to you. There is something you need to know.'' He whispered.
''We don't have anything to say to each other. Just keep your mouth shut and we can get this over with.'' She hissed as quietly as she could, luckily there were still quite far away from the others.
''This whole this is a misunderstanding. It's not what you think.'' He added. Breanna was about to lose her temper, and in her head she imagining herself beating the crap out of him with her bouquet, but she had to calm herself down.
''Shut up!'' She spat furiously before they approached the others. Jack knew that his time had run out for now, and they both put on their best poker faces and smiled as they walked between the others up to Paris. Jack took his place at Paris's side and Breanna took her place where Chel would soon be standing.
And there in distance, they could see her. Clutching onto her father's arm with one hand, and the bouquet with pink peonies and white roses in the other. Ruby's veil hanging from her long red hair put up into the beautiful hairdo that Amazonia had made, decorated with the diamond and ruby hairclip that Musa had given her. The diamond necklace Topaz had borrowed her and the white shoes with sea pearl and sapphires that Amazonia had given her. And last but certainly not least, the dress.
Paris had to catch his breath by the sight of her. How breathtaking she looked. For a few seconds he managed to tear his eyes off her to look at Jack, who smiled and nodded. Then his eyes meet hers and suddenly, it was like they were the only two people in the world. But before they knew it, Chel stood opposite him. Miguel planted a soft kiss onto his only daughters hand before placing one onto her cheek. Miguel turned to Paris next and placed a hand onto his shoulder.
''You take good care of her.'' He chuckled as he shook Paris's hand.
''I'll Sir.'' Paris replied. Miguel smiled and walked over to take his seat next to Topaz and planted a soft kiss onto her hand as well. Chel and Paris linked hands before turning to the minister.
''Dearly beloved, we've gathered here today to celebrate and join these people together in marriage.'' The minister said.
Nick and Zandra hugged goodbye before he was being taken back to his cell. Oliver came inside from the waiting-room and smiled.
''It went okay?'' He asked.
''Yes.'' She replied as she put her jacket on without looking at him. Oliver sighed and nodded.
''Good. Let's go back home then.'' He said and walked over to the door. Zandra turned around and looked at him as she pulled up the zipper of her jacket.
''We're not going home.'' She said. Oliver turned around hastily.
''What?'' He frowned his eyebrows. Zandra took her purse and looked at him.
''Oliver. If you care about me, you'll take me to the wedding. Now.'' She said without moving one single muscle in her face. Oliver's chin dropped.
Whaaat? Zandra wants to crash the wedding. Why? Would it make a different if she did?
Paris worrying about Zandra seeing Nick in jail, how will he react when he finds out she's not only visiting him but she's also covering up for him about the money?
Paris warning Jack about starting to treat Zandra better, will he be able to stop himself from?
Next time, The rest of the wedding, two female characters seem to find a new friend in each other and Zandra is determined to attended the wedding.
