Hope
After breakfast it was time to get to work. Even if he rather tried to figure out more about the young girl, Oliver walked down the corridor leading to Zandra's study. After knocking onto the door, he waited for her voice letting him to enter.
As usually Zandra sat behind her desk, properly dressed in her uniform as always and signature hair and make-up flawlessly done.
''What happened to our guest?'' She asked without even looking up at him. Oliver sighed and sat down by the conference table.
''Well, she seems to think that you're a witch.'' He said quietly. Now Zandra looked up at him and frowned her eyebrows.
''Great, I take a complete stranger in and gets called a witch. For what I know she could be a serial killer.'' Zandra hissed angrily as she stood up and walked over to the serving cart and took two bottles of waters and walked over to Oliver, giving him one of the bottles.
''Maybe you resembled someone from her past.'' Oliver tried. Whatever it was, there was an logical explanation. One thing he knew, Zandra was no witch what so ever. A bitch at times maybe, but only to those who deserved it.
''You know what? Take the day off and see if you can get her to open up more.'' Zandra said after taking a sip from the bottle. Oliver frowned his eyebrow slightly.
''What's the catch?'' He smirked. Zandra smirked back and crossed her long slime legs.
''A massage?'' She joked.
''No, seriously. There is not much to do today, I can cope on my own.'' She added.
Fiona rushed through the front door at the beach house. She had probably set a record in getting dressed. And if she had gotten one, the speeding ticket would have been huge, maybe even her license would have been revoked.
''Breanna!'' She called and continued into the living-room and saw Breanna sitting into the couch with her knees pulled up to her chest and her forehead resting into her palm.
''What's going on? You sounded so urgent on the phone.'' Fiona asked and kneeled down in front of Breanna. Something caught her attention of the corner of her eye. At the table, she saw the small jar of pills. She looked back at Breanna and sighed.
''Please B, don't tell me you didn't.'' She whispered. Breanna looked up with red puffy eyes and folded her arms across her chest, before she shook her head.
''I didn't.'' Breanna whispered. Fiona sighed deeply in relief and stood up and picked up the jar and looked at it before frowning.
''I've seen these before. I didn't think they could be dangerous, they are non prescription aren't they?'' She asked.
''They can, if you know how to use them.'' Breanna said quietly and looked outside the window at the ocean waves. Fiona looked at Breanna again.
''I'm taking these. Are you sure that these are the only one?'' She asked. Breanna nodded.
''There isn't anything else.'' She replied her. Fiona nodded and walked over to sit down next to her.
''Breanna, look at me.'' She said. It took a moment, but Breanna slowly got the courage to turn around and face her friend.
''Why did you do this? Because of Jack?'' Breanna turned away again and looked straight forward without answering. Fiona didn't need an answer, she knew what the answer was. She sighed and placed her hand onto Breanna's shoulder, making Breanna burst out of tears again. Fiona wrapped her arm around Breanna's shoulder and hugged her. They sat there for a few minutes, all quiet, except Breanna's soft sobs.
''Do you want me to stay with you here for a couple of days? You shouldn't be alone right now.'' Fiona asked. Breanna nodded.
''I'm really glad that you called me.'' She added as she continued to comforting her friend.
At the mansion, Paris could be able to work without any kinds of distraction. Chel and taken Teddy out for the day for some kind mother/son gathering.
''But if we put those together, then we would have a stronger defend.'' Paris said and pointed at the whiteboard that he and another young man looked at. Without even knocking, Tulio barged inside.
''Sorry.'' He said as he tried to catch his breath. Paris and the other man looked at him confused.
''Paris, I need your help. You have to come home.'' Tulio added.
''Can't it wait?'' Paris spat back at him, quite irritated that he had just barged in.
''No. It's Amazonia, she's not doing so good.'' Paris didn't need to be asked twice. He turned around to the man besides him and excused himself before following Tulio.
Fiona barely made it through the door to leave before there was a ring at the door-bell. Breanna put her long auburn hair into a messy bun onto her head as she went to open the door. Outside Spencer waited with a wide smile on to his face.
''Is this a bad time?'' He asked. Breanna shook her head and smiled back.
''I'm on my way to work but I've some time.'' She replied him and stepped aside so that he could enter.
''What brings you by?'' She added and closed the front door behind them. Spencer walked inside the living-room and turned around.
''Do I need a reason to visit my niece?'' He asked and frowned his eyebrows slightly. Breanna giggled and shrugged her shoulders.
''Sit down and turn your phone off.'' Spencer said and reached his palm out. Breanna frowned her eyebrows and smirked.
''Turn it off? Why?'' She giggled. Spencer sighed and went over to sit down into one of the couches.
''Because I don't want to compete for your attention with your cell phone. So, give it.'' He said and once again reached his palm out. Breanna took out her cell-phone from her pocket and placed it into his palm.
''Good girl, sit down.'' He said and Breanna did as she was told. Spencer smiled and sighed deeply.
''How's your life doing?'' He asked. Breanna avoided eye contact with him for a second and tried not to burst out in tears. For a second she thought about lying, but she knew that Spencer were smart enough to see right through her.
''Not great.'' She said finally and looked at him. For some reason, he didn't seem surprise.
''A boy?'' He asked. Breanna was slightly taken back, how could he have known?
''There was one, but he has a girlfriend or whatever she is.'' She answered.
''He keeps telling me that it's me he wants, but at the same time he seems to want her. I've managed to stay my ground so far, but I can't keep doing that for much longer.'' She added while trying to keep a smile onto her face and prevent herself from crying.
''I don't like hearing that.'' Spencer sighed.
''And I love him. I know that I shouldn't, but I can't help it.'' She sniffled and brushed away a tear that had managed to escape her eye.
''For the first time in forever I was actually happy. We made plans.'' Was the only thing she could say before turning her head away and stood up and walked a few steps away from him.
Spencer stood up and walked after her. Breanna wrapped her arms around herself and turned around towards him without facing him.
''I just...'' She began but had to take a deep breath.
''I love him so much and it hurts so bad.'' She started to cry and the tears welled down her cheeks. Spencer embraced her and patted her onto her head.
''Hang in there. I confident that things are going to work out for you.'' He whispered. Breanna sniffled quietly as she pressed herself closer to the warm and protective embrace of her uncle.
Fiona angrily walked into the courtyard at the mansion and inside. She past the many confused glares after her up to Jack's bedroom and forcefully knocked onto the door. It didn't take long until Jack came and open the door and looked at her confused.
''Fiona? What's going on?'' He asked as he was being pushed aside as the irritated fairy walked inside. Jack closed the door after her and turned around to look at her again.
''You tell me! You tell me why I got a call from Breanna this afternoon, asking me to hurry to the beach-house, and when I got there I found her curled up in a ball...'' Fiona hissed angrily as she stirred around in her purse.
''With this standing next to her.'' Fiona added as she slammed the small jar of pills down onto the desk. Jack raised his eyebrows and picked up the jar.
''Did she take these? Is she alright?'' He asked concerned.
''She's fine. She didn't take any.'' Fiona replied him, calming down slightly.
''I know… about the two of you. Don't worry, I'm not going to say anything.'' She added.
''It's not what she thinks.'' Jack said but he was interrupted by Fiona waving her hands in front of his face making him to shut up.
''Whatever's going on between the two of you, it's none of my business.'' She began and put her hands onto her hips.
''If you care about her as much as you say you do, then leave her alone for now.'' She added and when Jack was about protest she waved her hand in his face again.
''Let her have some space and make her mind up in peace.'' She added and this time, Jack stayed quiet. Fiona sighed and looked at him with a sadden expression.
''I do believe you care about her, and I do believe that what you say is true. But Breanna is hurt and confused, and the last thing she needs right now is you confusing her even more.'' She finished. Against his will, but he knew that Fiona had a point, Jack nodded his head in agreement.
Just like Tulio, Musa was starting to get more the worried about not only Amazonia's wellbeing but for the baby's aswell.
She knocked onto Tulio and Amazonia's bedroom door and called her name, but there was no reply. With the possibility of Amazonia taking a nap, Musa slowly pushed the handle down and peaked inside. But she wasn't in bed either.
Musa stepped inside and walked over to the closed bathroom door and knocked on that as well.
''Amazonia? It's me, are you in there?'' She called inside. When there was still no answer, she peaked inside into the bathroom as well. But just like the bedroom, there was no Amazonia to be seen.
A loud thump came from the bedroom and Musa quickly ran back out from the bathroom and could see Amazonia's long brown curls disappear out of the door. Immediately, Musa set after her.
Even if she was over six months pregnant, Amazonia could run just fine. It was like she couldn't breathe here anymore. She could feel the walls closing in on her, like she would be crushed any seconds if she didn't find a way out. She could hear Musa calling her name after her, but she needed to get away.
When she got down to the foyer, she stopped to catch her breath for a seconds. With one hand she gently stroke her stomach as more tears streamed down her cheeks.
However she didn't get very far when she had walked outside through the main-doors. Paris and Tulio came running up the stairs leading up to the entrance.
''Where are you going?'' Paris said. But the second that she saw them she turned around to run in the other direction, but Musa had caught up with her and managed to get a hold of her arm.
Amazonia tried to get herself free, even pound Paris a few times in the chest as he embraced her. But she was just too tired to fight and let him and Tulio, who embraced her from behind, carry her whole bodyweight as her legs failed to keep her up as she cried harder.
Like Zandra had ordered, Oliver spent the whole day with the newcomer and tried to get her to warmer up more. Which she had. She seemed to be fairly comfortable and safe with Oliver and she had even told him her name when he had asked.
Apparently her name was Dawn and like the healer had said, she was a fairy. The fairy of night to be more exact.
''Who was that from this morning?'' She asked as they sat together into the dinning-hall. Oliver looked at her and sighed.
''Zandra, she's the one in charge here.'' He explained. Dawn frowned her light brown eyebrows.
''Really? So all of you guys has to do exactly what she says? Isn't she the only girl here?'' She asked. Oliver chuckled slightly.
''Yes she is. And yes we have to, but all of us really doesn't mind. She's just as much of a leader than a guy would be.'' Oliver replied her.
''In fact, she even has more respect from all of us than Paris does.'' He added. Dawn nodded. Oliver had filled her in about that Zandra run her part of the company from here and Paris ran his from the main base in the mansion.
They were silent for a while before Oliver looked up at her again.
''Why were you afraid of her this morning?'' He asked. Dawn looked up at him for a second, and her light blue eyes filled up with sadness.
''She resembled someone I knew once.'' She mumbled quietly as she looked back down into her lap. Oliver battled with himself to ask further, not wanting to upset her. But eventually he decided to ask anyway.
''A witch?'' He asked. Dawn nodded before once again looking at him.
''The one who killed my parents and little sister.'' She whimpered sadly.
After her afternoon shift, Breanna walked down through the town-market on her way home. She looked forward to coming home, especially since Fiona was moving in.
By the end of the market road, she could see a middle-age woman started to pack up to go home. But the thing that caught her attention was what she was selling.
In a small pen one single puppy with long yellowish and black fur and big brown eyes played with a ball. Breanna walked over to it and reached her hand down to it. The puppy immediately ran over to her and started to wag it's tail.
''Hi gorgeous.'' Breanna smiled as she scratched it behind its ear.
''He seems to like you.'' Breanna looked up to see the woman who smiled back at her.
''Shame I have to put him down.'' She added sadly.
''Why?'' Breanna gasped in horror.
''I don't want to, but I'm moving next week and can't keep him.'' The owner sighed sadly.
''I've been able to sell his siblings, but people doesn't seem to want him because he's missing a toe.'' She added. And when Breanna looked closer, she could see that he was missing a toe on his left back foot.
''That's horrible.'' Breanna said angrily. She leaned down and gently picked the puppy up into her arms and looked him into the big brown eyes. She couldn't just let him being put down.
''Can you just let me make a phone-call?'' Breanna asked as she looked at the woman who nodded. Breanna put the puppy back down into the pen and took out her cell-phone.
She might live there and pay rent, but the royal family did own the beach-house. Breanna called Topaz and explained the situation. Just as horrified as Breanna was that he would have been put down, Topaz gave her blessing.
Breanna saw the relieve in the woman's eyes when she told her that she would take him. After signing over the ownerships and other important papers, there was one question left unanswered.
''So what are you going to name him?'' The woman asked with a smile. Breanna looked down at her new family member and smiled.
''Hope.'' She replied her and looked back up at the woman.
''Hope? You do know it's a boy right?'' The woman replied and frowned her eyebrows.
''I know, but that's what he gave me. Hope.'' Breanna smiled as she and Hope made their way home. She was convinced that the pup was send to her from above in her time of need, someone to keep her mind of a certain person.
Musa and Paris were soon joined by Riven and they all sat into the kitchen talking about the days advents. Eventually Tulio walked inside and joined them.
''She's sleeping now, if only she could eat as well.'' He sighed as he sat down next to Paris.
''One step at the time, at least she's unharmed.'' Musa replied him. Tulio nodded in agreement and turned around to face Paris.
''Thanks for coming.'' He mumbled. Paris nodded and gave him a pat onto the back.
Soon all of their attentions turned to the door and Fiona who tried to get herself and two suitcases through the doors. With some effort she managed to get herself inside.
''Where are you going?'' Musa gasped by the sight of the suitcases. Fiona had to catch her breath for a second after the battle with the door.
''I'm staying with Breanna for a while.'' She replied.
''My cousin? Why?'' Paris asked and frowned his eyebrows.
''She just wants some company for a while.'' She smiled. Fiona felt bad for lying but she knew that it was for the best, Breanna didn't take any of the pills after all.
Jack walked through the mansion corridors while reading the papers in his hands. It was nice to have his work to keep his mind of Breanna.
When he was about to turn around the corner, he bumped into someone making him almost drop all of the papers. He looked up to see Spencer standing in front of him.
''Hey, what are young doing here?'' Jack asked and smiled slightly.
''I'm looking for my son, but I can't find him anywhere.'' Spencer replied him.
''No he's not here, apparently there was some kind of emergency at the palace.'' Jack said and scratched the back of his head. Spencer nodded his head and the two of them said their good-byes and was about to part, but Spencer calling his name made Jack turn around.
''I had an interesting conversation with my niece earlier.'' Spencer began and Jack could feel his heart beat faster and his collar suddenly seemed to tight.
''She's upset about something, she haven't said anything to you has she?'' He added. The only thing Jack could think of was to shook his head. Spencer nodded his head and smiled slightly.
''It's just that I knew that you because quite close when you lived together, she might had confided in you.'' Spencer added.
''Sorry, she hasn't said a word.'' Jack added and now he was starting to get desperate to get away since he was starting to break out in a sweat.
''Alright then, just cheeking. Spencer smiled. Jack nodded his head and disappeared around the corner the fast as he could. Spencer looked after him for a second before leaving as well.
Jack barley managed to reach his room when his phone rang. He looked at the caller-ID before answering.
''Kim, what's up?'' He answered and closed the door behind him.
''Sure I'll come with you.'' He added and stripped off his uniform jacket and shirt and threw it onto the floor.
''No I almost blew my cover to Breanna's uncle, if Paris wouldn't kill me than he surely would.'' Jack shuddered by the thought of Spencer's fingers around his own throat.
''No there is no way that we will even get back together.'' He sighed sadly.
''She saw us together after your appointment at the healer, she had gotten it into her head that I got you knocked up and she won't hear a word I'm saying.'' He added as he put on a clean new shirt and picked up the dirty laundry.
''Can I talk to you later? I'm quite occupied at the moment?'' He sighed.
When the doorbell rang, the entire beach-house filled up with a high-pitched bark and Hope rushed over to the front-door while waging his tail. Breanna smiled as she walked to open the door. As expected, Fiona stood there onto the doorstep with her suit-cases.
''Hi.'' Breanna smiled as she let Fiona inside. The first thing she did was taking a dive down onto the floor.
''Hi baby.'' Fiona said with her sweetest and softest voice as she scratched Hope behind his ear.
''I didn't know you had a dog.'' She added and picked him up. Breanna walked outside onto the doorstep and carried Fiona's bags inside before closing the door.
''I didn't until today.'' She replied her and told Fiona that if she hadn't taken him that he would have been put down, she also told her that he also was missing a toe.
''Well I think it makes you special.'' Fiona said in the same tone as before. Hope seemed to taken a liking to Fiona as much as she him, because he kept on licking her all over her face.
''I've taken a few days of work so that I can stay home with him, but I don't know how I'm going to solve it when I'm going back.'' Breanna sighed.
''Don't worry about that, I can look after him. For now anyway.'' Fiona smiled before putting Hope back down onto the floor.
''Maybe I should go unpack.'' Fiona added.
''Yeah, you can take the other bedroom upstairs.'' Breanna said.
''It's the door on the right.'' She added. Fiona smiled and nodded her head before grabbing her suit-cases and carried them upstairs.
There was another ring onto the doorbell and once again Hope started to bark. Breanna frowned her eyebrows slightly.
''Who could that be?'' Breanna whispered for herself as she walked over and opened it, really surprised who she found outside. Kimberly stood there with a nervous smile onto her face.
''Breanna?'' She asked. Breanna folded her arms across her chest and leaned against the door-frame, before nodding her head.
''I'm Ki…'' Breanna waved her hand in front of her face, making Kimberly stop talking.
''I know who you are.'' Breanna hissed angrily.
''Can I come in?'' Kimberly sighed deeply.
''I really don't see the point why you should.'' Breanna said and stood up straight.
''Please?'' Kimberly added. Breanna sighed deeply before stepping aside and Kimberly walked inside.
Looks like Fiona knows about Jack and Breanna now, but is she the only one? Spencer's questioning of Jack seemed... suspicious?
Breanna didn't take any of the pills, good for her. Love the fact that she called for Fiona and she came without hesitation. That's a true friend.
And Breanna got a little puppy! Welcome Hope to the Deveraux household.
So the girl Oliver saved is someone called Dawn. Dawn is a character created by The Real Outsider, however I'm the one who have created most of her back-story and storyline.
So Zandra resembled a witch from Dawn's past who killed her family. Where is this witch now and will she oppose a treat to the others. What will the future hold for Dawn?
Amazonia seems to get worse. But does her little escape attempt make her see sense?
Kimberly showing up at Breanna's doorstep, quite unexpected yes? Will she set things straight or only make things worse?
Next time, Kimberly and Breanna talk, Musa and Amazonia have a heart-to-heart, Chel and Paris nesting.
