Gone gone gone
Well back home at the ranch Zandra sat in the silence in her own study. Even if she tried to concentrate on her work, it seemed useless. For some reason she couldn't get the conversation between her and Chel earlier out of her head.
However she was soon brought back to reality when there was a knock on the door. Excepting Oliver or someone else from her base, she was really surprised when Jack peeked inside behind the door.
''Can I come in?'' He asked. Zandra frowned her eyebrows and leaned back into her chair.
''When have you even asked for permission, about anything?'' She replied him, probably sounding more of a bitch that she meant to. Again she was surprised when he smiled slightly instead of snapping at her. No she felt slightly bad about her tone.
He let himself in and walked inside. The two of them were silent for a few seconds before Jack let out a deep sigh.
''Look, Chel told me about what happened before. That you heard us talking.'' He began and gave a nod towards a chair, asking if he could take a seat. Zandra granted him with a nod.
''I know it couldn't have been easy for you to see her on a high like that.'' Jack added as he took a seat opposite him on the other side of the desk. Zandra sighed.
''She's never been happier. And it's good for her, and for Paris too.'' She replied him and frowned her eyebrows at herself.
''God, I never thought I would say that.'' She added and looked up at him.
''But I did, and I meant it.'' Now it was Jack's turn to frown eyebrows.
''Wow.'' He chuckled slightly.
''Doesn't make it hurt any less though.'' Zandra said sadly and looked away, but she could feel Jack's eyes looking back at her with a sad expression on his face, which felt strange coming from him.
Paris had followed Chel to the hospital in the medical capsule, Tulio had gone back to the palace to inform the others what had happened.
When at the hospital, Paris wasn't allowed inside to the room where they took Chel. He didn't know how long he had to walk back and forth into the waiting room before the doctor finally came to fetch him.
Paris followed the doctor inside the small room with Chel laying onto bed connected to several machines. He stood and starred at her for a few seconds and he couldn't figure out how the young woman he only a few hours ago planned for the nursery to their expecting child now was laying here.
Slowly he walked over and sat down onto a chair next to her. As he took her hand in his he let out a deep sigh.
''I'm going to let you wake up and be okay, okay? Can you do that?'' He said and choked slightly.
''I… what were you doing on that motorcycle?'' He asked even he didn't know why. It's not like she could answer or maybe even hear him.
''Sorry. It doesn't matter. As long as you and our baby is alright.'' He added and placed his free hand over her slightly swollen stomach.
''You know she's pregnant?'' Paris asked and turned to look at the doctor. He gave a weak nod and what Paris assumed to be a smile before turning around to Chel again.
''You're so beautiful.'' He smiled and brushed some of hair from her face. Another few seconds passed before Paris sighed again.
''And so still! You're never still.'' Honestly it started to freak him out a bit. She was right here in front of her, breathing just like she was only asleep. But the fact that she was laying completely frozen was out of the ordinary. Paris turned back to the doctor.
''Doctor, you didn't say anything…'' He began.
''Is our baby okay?'' He added. First now did Paris notice the real expression of the doctors face. Even if he didn't answer, Paris could see that there was something he wasn't being told.
Jack and Zandra starred at each other quietly.
''Don't look so chocked.'' Zandra said and folded her arms across her chest. Jack put up his hands in front of him.
''I'm just impressed.'' He chuckled slightly. Zandra frowned her eyebrows. She was a nice person, was that really so hard to understand?
''I congratulated her, I did not nominate her for My favourite person of the year.'' She replied him.
''Well if you two find a way to get along, I'll nominate you both.'' He smiled, earning a small giggle back from Zandra. But then Jack's voice changed into a more serious tone again.
''Chel, she understands. She's not trying to make you feel worse.'' He said.
''I've heard the whispers going around the mansion, that look on their relationship and Chel's pregnancy.'' He added as he and Zandra looked at each other.
''Zan, it's way off base. Chel is happy and she has every right to be.'' He added as his turned even more serious.
''But she's not happy because you're not. That's not the kind of person she is.''
''I know you probably don't believe that.'' He added and looked down into his lap.
''I do.'' She replied him. And she did.
Celebrating their new room-mate arrangement, Breanna offered to take Fiona out for dinner. They walked through the market and ended up at the bakery.
Instead of dinner they each took a sandwich and coffee. They sat there for a long time together in the sun and talked, laughed and made minor plans for the future. And when Breanna didn't notice, Fiona snuck small pieces of ham to Hope under the table.
''What about hair-dresser?'' Breanna asked and Fiona wrinkled her nose slightly.
''I don't know if that's really me.'' She replied her. And before they could talk even further Tulio and Amazonia came walking down the market.
''Hey, haven't you heard?'' Tulio said as they stopped by their table. Both Fiona and Breanna frowned their eyebrows and starred at him confused.
''Heard what?'' Fiona asked.
''Chel's been in an accident, she's in the hospital.'' Amazonia added. Both Breanna and Fiona's chins dropped.
''Is she alright?'' They both gasped in harmony.
''We're on our way over there right now, but there is blockage so we have to walk through town.'' Tulio added. Both of the girls grabbed their purses and Hope's leash and followed Tulio and Amazonia, totally forgetting to put away their trays.
Once again Paris followed the doctor, this time out from the room.
''As you know, your wife was in a serious accident.'' The doctor began. Paris nodded and placed both of his hands onto his hips.
''But she's going to fine?'' He asked. The doctor nodded and turned around to face the father-to-be.
''I hope she will make a full recovery, but she does have some head trauma.'' This calmed Paris down tremendously, but the biggest question was still not answered.
''Okay, but you still haven't said anything about the baby.'' Paris asked and held his breath.
''Please doctor, tell me our baby is going to be okay.'' He begged when he couldn't hold it anymore. Then he started to stomp his foot. He thought that he was going to turn insane. Couldn't the idiot just answer him! The doctors sighed.
''I see no evidence of a heartbeat. I'm sorry Paris.'' Paris could feel how his lungs wouldn't inhale any oxygen. If he didn't know that it was psychically impossible, he would say that his heart broke into a million tiny pieces. He wasn't going to be a father.
Poor Chel and Paris? What will this mean for their future together? Could Paris really stay with Chel after this? Will he blame her for the loss of their child. Will Chel be able to stay with Paris?
Wow, Zandra and Jack inside alone in the same room and no one is dead… yet.
Sorry that this was a short chatpher and that it took such a long time to update. Hope you'll forgive me ^^
Next time, Chel wakes up, Fiona has a bump-in with someone new, Zandra interrupts Oliver and Dawn's picnic.
