Truths Reveled:
A beautiful oleander tree standing in the middle of the atrium was a dead give away of who lost control of their magic. Lucius didn't have to be a seer to know that Draco's mouth had led to Harry's accidental magic. What did surprise the patriarch of the Malfoy family was seeing Harry in a ball sobbing on Draco's lap and that his son was running his fingers through the younger boy's hair, whispering soft words in the boy's ear.
Severus walked over and a protective bubble rose around the two boys.
"Don't…hurt…him…it…was…my…fault…I…made…the…tree…" Harry said between sobs.
"I started it Father," Draco said. "I don't care what he says."
"Harry, calm down. I promise no one's going to be punished for the beautiful tree. I rather like it and I'm sure the snakes do too," Lucius said softly with a bright smile on his face.
"We don't punish children for accidental magic in this house," Severus said in a reassuring voice.
"See Harry, it's ok. I told you nothing was going to happen to us," Draco said.
"No…I…know…what…happens…to…freaks…they'll…hurt…you!" Harry sobbed.
"Father, Uncle Sev, promise you won't hurt me!" Draco said panicking.
"Harry, you're not a freak. You're a wizard and a nymph, sometimes things like this just happen," Severus said sitting down next to the two boys, making sure to avoid the magical bubble and keeping his movements slow.
"But…"
"It's my fault Uncle Sev. I said he was a freak and…"
Severus couldn't hear the rest of Draco's confession. Again his son decided to save Draco's little bum with a silencing charm. Severus looked and was happy when he didn't see a wand in his son's hand. That would have spelled doom for all of them. He was sure Dumbledore had a trace on Harry's magical signature, but accidental and wandless magic didn't show up on the underage trace.
Lucius looked around the room and realized something was wrong with the snakes. They seemed highly irritated for some reason. It was as if they were protecting someone. There was only one other person in the world that had that kind of power over snakes and he prayed to Merlin that Voldemort was not in his terrarium.
"Sev, the snakes are on alert. They're going to attack if we're not careful," Lucius said quietly.
"Harry, what are the snakes saying?" Draco whispered.
"They want to know if they should attack," Harry said between sniffles, as he finally started to calm down.
"If they do, Father and Uncle Sev will die. Do you want that?" Draco asked keeping his voice calm, but adding a little authority in it.
Harry shook his head, sat up, and took a deep breath, before saying,
"/I'm ok. They're not going to hurt me. /"
"/Are you sssure little sssspeaker? /" The runespoor asked
"/Yes. One is supposed to be my father. /" Harry admitted.
"/You are hissss hatchling? /"
"/Yes. /"
The snakes calmed down immediately after that.
Lucius and Severus looked at the two boys in shock.
"I told them I was fine Draco," Harry said giving the blond boy a smile.
"Good, now lower the shield so we can get out of here," Draco said returning the smile. "The floor is hard and my bum is cold."
"They won't hurt you?" Harry asked again.
"They won't hurt either of us. I promise," Draco said looking at his Father with pleading eyes. He knew he deserved a smacking, but he prayed he would do it when Harry was out of the room.
Harry let down the shield and passed out seconds later. Severus walked over and took his son out of his godson's arms. He quickly cast a silencing charm over the sleeping child. He wanted to say something to his godson and he had a feeling the Lucius had a few words to say to him about his son being a Parselmouth.
"We will have words later Draco Lucius. I want to know exactly what happened in here," Severus said firmly.
"Yes Uncle Sev. Is Harry ok?"
Lucius ran a quick diagnostic and said,
"Magical exhaustion, but he'll be fine after a good night's rest. Draco, find your way to a corner in my study please. We will discuss this soon, but I will leave your punishment up to your Godfather."
"I'm sorry Uncle Sev, I'm sorry Father," Draco said before running towards the house.
"I think you owe me an explanation, brother. You didn't seemed shocked when Harry started speaking Parseltounge," Lucius said with a calm he wasn't feeling at that moment.
"Can I get my son into bed before you and I get into this?" Severus asked with a sigh.
"I'll meet you in my study in a half hour. I know you need to head to the castle straight after," Lucius said striding angrily away.
Severus looked at the exhausted child in his arms and sighed. He couldn't believe how much his life had changed in less then forty-eight hours. How could Lily never have told him the truth? Did James Potter share the truth with anyone? If so, who? The answer hit Severus like a ton of bricks.
'He didn't,' Severus though angrily. And if he did, Remus Lupin would never forgive Severus and Lucius for not speaking up. To be honest he didn't know if he would be able to forgive himself for letting childhood grudges rule his emotions and ruin the life of yet another person.

Draco stood in his Father's office feeling like a fool. How could he be jealous of Harry Potter? The scars on the other boy's back were awful. What kind of monster would do that to another person, let alone a little kid?
Draco heard the door to his Father's study open and he just couldn't follow protocol this time. He needed his Father's strong arms around him now, he'd never been so afraid in his entire life.
Lucius was shocked when his arms were filled with a crying pre-teen boy the second he walked into the study. This was so unlike Draco that he picked the little boy up and walked over to the couch to cuddle with his sobbing son.
"Dragon, you have to tell me what's wrong."
"I…saw…"
"What did you see? Take a deep breath and talk to me Dragon," Lucius said rubbing soothing circles on his son's back.
It took close to five minutes for the blond boy to finally calm down and share the awful truth with his father.
"Harry, has scars on his back because of what those muggles did to him," Draco said new tears traveling down his porcelain face. "I didn't know they called him a freak. I would've never called him that if I had known."
"What started the argument?" Lucius asked.
"I was jealous because he could talk to my snakes and I couldn't, so I started calling him names. He was ok with it at first, until I walked over and pushed him. That's when I called him a freak and said I would make sure that everyone at Hogwarts would know what a freak he really was. That's when he started shaking. The next thing I knew the tree was in the middle of the snake pit. I was kind of shocked, because it was really cool, but Harry just lost it. He said Uncle Sev was going to send him back and that some man named Uncle Vernon was going to kill him. He needed to go, but he tripped and fell down hard. I walked over to make sure that he was ok but he started shaking and sobbing hard. The only thing I could do was hold him. That's when I saw his back. It's covered with scars. And when I held him, I started seeing pictures of this really fat man yelling and hitting Harry. He was terrible Father! Promise me, that we will never let him go back there and that we won't let anyone hurt him like that again."
"We won't, I promise," Severus said shocking both of the blonds as neither had heard him walk into the study.
Draco climbed off his father's lap and ran over to his Godfather. He was so happy when Severus picked him up and hugged him hard, but wasn't surprised when he felt five hard swats land a few seconds later.
"OW."
"You really need to keep your jealousy in check Dragon," Severus chided before pulling his godson into another hug.
"I'm really sorry Uncle Sev," Draco said with a sniffle.
"All's forgiven Dragon. I do have a favor though."
"Anything."
"I need you to watch over Harry for me. I have to go check in at the castle…"
"You can't go! Harry needs you," Draco all but yelled.
"I have to go to keep Harry safe," Severus said firmly.
"Then I will watch over him."
"But that is not all I require Dragon. I'm also bringing Miss Granger here tomorrow, so I want you on your best behavior while she visits," Severus said looking into his godson's grey eyes.
"I'll try," Draco said knowing that a promise could lead to a lie, something he hated to do to his Godfather.
"I have a feeling you will Draco or your bum will pay dearly. I'm sure you wouldn't want Miss Granger to witness such a thing," Lucius said trying to keep a smile off his face at the look of horror that crossed the pre-teen's face at those words.
"You wouldn't."
"I wouldn't test me on it, your behavior of late has not been the greatest. Maybe some humility will bring you down a peg or two," Lucius warned.
"Yes sir," Draco pouted.
"Go see if your Mother needs any help. Uncle Sev and I have some business to discuss before he leaves," Lucius said pulling the boy into a hug.
Severus decided to sit down and brace for the tide of anger that he was sure was heading his way.
"Severus Tobias Snape, you better tell me the truth now or I swear I will use my head of house rights and give you a thrashing that will rival the one I gave you the night you took the Dark Mark."
Severus tried not to roll his eyes, but being threatened with a smacking when you're over thirty and have been under the Cruciatus Curse by Voldemort more times than he could count was kind of laughable, but knowing that Lucius was angry enough to say it was actually what bothered him.
"I may not have been entirely truthful about Lily's letter."
"You better spill those truths quickly brother, because, there is only one person in the world that has the natural power of both Legilimens and Parseltounge, my prayer is that the Dark Lord was not in my home today."
"I assure you Luc, that the Dark Lord is not and is in your home, but his grandson is."
Severus watched as what little color was in Lucius cheeks left and as the man stumbled over to his favorite chair. The Potion Master decided that he and his friend both needed a stiff drink.
He walked over and poured them a four finger shot of brandy, handing one to Lucius before returning to his seat. The blond drank the shot quickly and looked at his brother. That one look told Severus to start talking.
"Lily Evans was not muggle born witch. I didn't know this until I read her letter and she didn't know it until the night of Harry's birth. Her Father was one Tom Marvolo Riddle."
"Wait, that was what Father used to call the Dark Lord when I was younger than Draco."
"Yes. I don't know what happened to Lily's birth mother, but she ended up as the Evans' youngest daughter. I have a feeling that Dumbledore knew and that was one of the many reasons for destroying my marriage," Severus said sadly.
"With the Dark Lord being a Wind nymph, that would make sense. A child of two nymphs would be very powerful and with him being a descendent of Slytherin, Harry's powers are going to be astronomical. Do you see it at school?"
"No, I fear Dumbledore may be using blocks, but I'm not sure."
"I will bring in a Goblin healer and we need to see the Potter's will as soon as possible," Lucius added.
"I also need another favor."
"And what's that?"
"Sirius Black may be innocent."
Lucius groaned.
"Why would you think that?"
"Lily and James had to have shared this information with someone and Sirius was their most trusted friend. Plus we never saw him at a meeting."
"We didn't see any of the Marauders at the meetings. The Dark Lord was keeping that spy very close to his chest."
"We have to make sure Luc and as Narcissa's husband, you can request a meeting with him without drawing suspicion."
"You realize if we were wrong about Sirius, Remus will likely call a blood feud."
"Sirius won't allow it, beside Remus is reasonable."
"But Mooney is not," Lucius said smiling.
"That is the least of our worries right now. Wish me luck, I'm off to the castle."
"I'm the one needing luck. I'm going to bloody Azkaban," Lucius grimaced.
