Chapter 69: Flatter
"You're very skilled, Leo," she said as she blocked his sword strike.
"I was about to say the same thing about you," he grunted as he parried her attack.
This was how it always was between them when they first met.
They would meet in a secret location and fight each other while trying to out flatter each other with compliments.
It was a game they both played though they should have both been wary back then considering their relationship.
But now things had changed between them.
They were no longer enemies but family.
And now they only had each other now that Splinter was gone.
But they couldn't totally break old habits.
The match ended with Karai as the victor.
"Not bad," she praised him.
"Thanks," he answered. "You did good too."
This was the way it would always be between them.
And they wouldn't have it any other way.
