So, the vote was 6-1. The winner was that Percy should hide it. Except when I weighed it against my feelings (and the fact that I already wrote the chapter,) I decided to go ahead as planned. However, in honor of the six that should have gotten their way but did not, after I finish this story, I will use the first seven chapters of this one and make Percy not tell in a separate FanFic. Sorry, but most of my plot involves Annabeth in the know.

Merry Christmas! I decided that since I'm updating really soon for Kwanzaa anyway, I can afford to make this one short too, because the Kwanzaa one will be slightly longer and then I will start doubling my chapters. Anyone who celebrates Hanukkah, high five!

Enjoy!

The next dawn brought a gorgeous midsummer day. The birds were out, the clouds floating all over, the sky a perfect blue. Percy went down to the Poseidon table early. He hadn't slept a wink.

Annabeth was sitting there waiting for him.

"You were supposed to wake me up last night, Seaweed Brain," she said, half-laughing at the nickname.

"Sorry," said Percy, and he was serious.

Annabeth caught her breath. "So?" she asked expectantly.

Percy sighed. "Let's take a walk," he said, taking her hand and leading her down to the beach.

After they had walked for a few minutes in silence, Percy cleared his throat.

"So," he said.

Annabeth said nothing. The silence continued for another minute.

"I really don't know how to say this," Percy said suddenly. "I mean…" and he trailed off.

"Is it bad?" Annabeth inquired.

"Yeah. Oh, yeah."

"So say it nice and blunt. Now that I know it's bad, I'm prepared."

"I have cancer," Percy said, bluntly the way she had requested.

Annabeth stopped dead. "What?"

"Cancer," he whispered, and he turned around. Annabeth was a few steps behind him. He looked at her, slightly apprehensive.

All of a sudden, Annabeth ran toward him and flung her arms around his neck.

They were the same height.

He hugged her, and she hugged him back, and they stood there, the water crashing against the rocks and the wind ruffling their hair, and the same thoughts going through their minds.

They stood like that for a long time.

Merry Christmas!

Guest- Thank you, and hopefully soon!

outofreach- Thanks. And I did count your vote, even though your review was one word long.

Kizzy3- Sweetest review EVER. Yes, I took your vote into account. Thanks for your input!

Guest- Sorry! Haha!

Reader- Thank you so much!

YourFavGuest- Thanks! Unfortunately, no one else agrees with you.

123hereigo456-Thanks. I love tear-jerkers, and I wish I could do it half as well as some of my favorite authors. Ever read My Sister's Keeper?
