This little one shot is set right after the water dragon incident. I was going to use it in my mako/h2o crossover, but it didn't flow. So, I decided to put it out as a one shot David and Sirena fluff bit. Sirena has just returned to the Gold Coast, and David takes her out for a romantic lunch on the beach. Disclaimer- I don't own Mako Mermaids.
David and Sirena sat on the beach eating their lunch. David had packed lobster, shrimp, swordfish, and a salad for them. He added drinks and straws. Admittedly, he went overboard, but he was just so happy she was home. He couldn't stop smiling ever since Mimmi gave him the news of the whole pod returning.
"I'm so happy that you're here," David said. He was grinning that sweet, soft grin that Sirena missed so much.
She told him, "I'm happy to be home, and to be here with you." She put her hand on his shoulder.
David fed Sirena a shrimp and asked, "I don't understand. Why did you have to go to Hawaii for so long?"
She finished her bite and answered honestly, "My sister took me away on purpose. She was afraid that I had fallen in love with a land boy. She was afraid that I would be banished from the pod forever. She had just gotten me back, and she didn't want to lose me."
"Oh, is it true?" He asked, looking hopeful.
"Yes, the Mermaid Council can banish mermaids for life, if a mermaid chooses to break our laws." She told him.
He asked, while looking into her eyes, "No, I mean are you in love with a land boy?"
She looked down shyly, then back up at him. "Yes, I am," she said.
"That's fantastic," he said grinning. He added, "I'm in love with a mermaid." Suddenly, his face fell. Quietly he asked, "Does this mean you're banished?"
Sirena answered, while smiling, "No, after the water dragon incident, the Mermaid Council changed a bunch of our laws. People are not our enemy. We still have to be very careful, but we are allowed greater freedoms. My sister, Aquata, brought me home, when we heard the news."
David leaned over and kissed Sirena softly on the lips. "I love you," he said.
Sirena replied, "I love you, too." She kissed him again.
