a/n Hey guys sorry it took so long for me to update, been busy with planning for Christmas shopping for my family and normal adult life lol. I wanted to get this up for you guys before Thanksgiving as thanks to all of you fantastic readers. I am a little disappointed with the lack of reviews but its ok. I do want to say too I moderate my reviews and would appreciate it if the reviews were not just saying that the story sucks. I would prefer to have a review that tells me what is wrong with it that it sucks please and thank you. I do not own Inu-Yasha or any of its affiliates. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way on with the story.
"The drive back was very uneventful considering there was complete silence not even the radio was on. Kagome glanced over at the current western lord in confusion and concern, because whenever they were together he always filled the silence with at least some sort of chatter, so it was extremely out of character for him to be so quiet and honestly it was unnerving. She didn't know what was going on but knew that something was not right and wondered if something was going on in the Tashio household that she knew nothing about.
As the silence continued she sighed and looked out of the window glad when they finally made it to their destination. Kagome smiles at Touga and thanks him quietly for taking her home before going inside. He doesn't speak only giving her a strained smile and a curt nod before leaving the shrine stairs not even waiting for her to go up them and inside. She watches him stunned for a moment before shrugging and going inside to take a shower.
Once she greets her mother she heads straight for the stairs and goes straight into the bathroom removing the light make up she had put on and strips carefully throwing her clothes in the laundry basket in the bathroom and takes a quick shower. As she is standing under the warm spray she starts to relax and reminisce about her first date with Sesshomaru with a smile.
FLASHBACK
Kagome is in the bathroom applying light make up while her best friend Ayame is helping to find the proper gown for the event that was to be held on the boat that evening. The girls are giggling and chattering on about how fun the event would be considering she was actually going to be the date of the famous co-owner of Tashio Corp. Kagome was still stunned and told her friend this who just waved it off stating "You are a very beautiful girl Kagome. I guarantee that if Inu and Kouga weren't already taken either one of them would be on you like white on rice." Kagome blushes at the compliment and shakes her head at her friend before stating "You and Kikyo are practically flawless from your hair to your perfectly manicured toes. I am lucky if I can get any pampering done in six months.''
"Ayame sighs at Kagome's lack of self-confidence and says "You know that simply is not true. I wish I could be as natural as you." Kagome just rolls her eyes and steps into the black sleeveless gown pulling it into perfect place and allowing Ayame to zip up the back of it. She looks into the mirror to admire the way the silk gently flows over her hips and pools on the floor. Then she sits down taking care not to crinkle the dress and delicately places the strappy heels with lacing up to her calf on her tiny feet. She stands and sighs in despair noticing that the 4 inch heels only raise her height to a more normal one.
With her being on five foot two she standing at a whopping five foot six. She shrugs knowing that it can't be helped and notices that the dress has a very tasteful slit up to her hip on one side. She then places a borrowed pair of diamond teardrop earrings in her ears and clasps a matching teardrop necklace around her throat. She completes her whole look with silk gloves and places her hair in an elegant bun with a curling bang on one side and then turns to look at her friend receiving a wolf whistle in response. Kagome looks at Ayame stunned at how the green silk gown her friend has dawned is almost an exact copy of her black one only with off shoulder straps with the matching accessories, but the gown brings out her vivid green eyes. Ayame's fiery hair is down in loose ways giving the woman an almost ethereal quality to her. The girls nod to each other approving of how the other looks and smiles before grabbing clutches to match their gowns and go down the stairs to meet their dates.
Kagome can't help but to hold her breath when she sees Sessmoaru in a very elegant black tux waiting for her at the bottom. She looks over and notice that Kouga is wearing almost the exact same tux but instead of a white shirt it is emerald green. Sessomaru holds the door for the ladies and offers Kagome his arm escorting her to the limo they were taking for the night. The chauffeur opens the door for her and she slides in giggling and Sesshomaru follows her along with Ayame and Kouga. The door is closed once they are situated and starts to drive to the marina. As the girls gossip about the latest fashions Kagome can't help but to continuously glance at her date still slightly surprised that she is actually there with him. Once they arrive at the marina and step out of the limo they are immediately bombarded by paparazzi shouting out questions and flashing bright cameras in their faces. Sesshomaru glares at them and whisks Kagome onto the boat and away from the annoying media.
Once they enter the ballroom of the yacht there is distinct chattering among the already present women about the ugly human that had the audacity to arrive to a youkai only party. Kagome tries to ignore all the insults and Sesshomaru whispers into her ear "Do not believe a single word any of these women breathe. It is mere poison because they believe they deserve the right to be on this Sesshomaru's arm. You are the belle of the ball tonight. I want you to enjoy it." Kagome flashes him a smile before taking her offered seat.
"a/n Sorry to cut this a little short no the flashback has not finished yet but I decided to be a little cruel tonight and leave it where it is now so that you may be intrigued into continuing to read and follow.
