Last time

Once they enter the ballroom of the yacht there is distinct chattering among the already present women about the ugly human that had the audacity to arrive to a youkai only party. Kagome tries to ignore all the insults and Sesshomaru whispers into her ear "Do not believe a single word any of these women breathe. It is mere poison because they believe they deserve the right to be on this Sesshomaru's arm. You are the belle of the ball tonight. I want you to enjoy it." Kagome flashes him a smile before taking her offered seat.

Now

Glasses clink and there is subtle chatter around her as Kagome looks around at how fashionable most of the women look. She looks down at herself and fiddles with her fingertips slightly snapping her head up to see a woman scandalously dressed in the shortest dress she has ever seen.

The dress barely covers the woman's nether regions fully and Kagome notices that the woman had the audacity to not wear underwear with such a short dress. At least she assumed that was the case considering the female did not have a noticeable panty line and Kagome knows that with such a tight dress on a line would definitely be noticeable.

Kagome lowers her head slightly noticing that the female is not wearing any undergarments at all her abundant chest is almost spilling from the sleeveless number and her nipples are clearly erected due to the chill of the night air, since they are very noticeable. Kagome scoffs slightly, yet almost silently as the woman continuously screeches something about her being with HER Sessy-kun. Kagome completely tunes her out snubbing her in a completely sophisticated manner.

The female snarls something about her just being a whore and a no good gold digger and Kagome smirks her eyes flashing in very concealed anger and says "I happen to be and heiress myself, so I have no need of money, besides a slight breeze is all these fine demons and demoness need to know who you are my dear. Please do not insult those who you know nothing about." The female glares at her and rolls her eyes scoffing.

"Yes a single scent is all the men need to know that I am fully capable of taking care of them. You will not hold a single one's attention tonight. I will make sure of it. I AM after all the most desired female in the room." Kagome shows no notice of the threat and stands inspecting the female by circling her. "Thick waist, shorter stature, but still tall for someone who is supposed to be a puritan, wide rimmed eyes, shorter neck, caked on make-up covering the blemishes. Yes I suppose you are desirable to those of less pleasing descent. None the less you do not belong in this society. The meaning of appropriate attire is lost on you. Not a single jewel gracing your features. What a shame."

Kagome finishes her inspection before shaking her head and turning to her date. " If you will excuse me MY Lord I believe I need to speak with the owner about how his establishment is being guarded this evening." Sesshomaru just nods in agreement before glancing and the practically nude female toddling towards him like a wounded elephant. Kagome watches on as Sesshomaru starts to rattle of the details of fine breeding and how she is nothing compared to his date who is indeed of very fine breeding and is not a comparison to any female in the room this evening.

Kagome smiles and returns to her date knowing that she really has no need of speaking with the owner since he always takes care of the trash. She secretly admits to being curious as to how Sesshomaru- sama would handle the female. She stands next to him and smiles up at him demurely. He offers her his arm and leads her into the first dance of many for that night.

END FLASHBACK

Kagome continues to smile softly and turns of the spray and stepping out. She looks into the mirror and sighs, knowing that a storm is brewing since it has been calm for way too long. She can't help but to be worried and unfortunately for her things will not be getting better as she longs for her prince to finally take her as his own.

TASHIO CASTLE

Inu-Yashio returns home and looks into his study at his eldest son and the eldest daughter of the Southern lord. He sighs at how amicably they are getting along and planning for their upcoming mating/wedding. Touga had thought that his son had given up the farce when he started his relationship with Kagome, but instead he actually started the planning just a week ago.

He did not understand why his son thought that the demure little princess was a perfect partner for him. It did not help that since his son had not yet learned of his girlfriend's noble blood. Touga shakes his head and sighs yet again. His son was too stubborn for his own good and would hear nothing about the little princess of the north. Many called her the "ICE QUEEN" but this indeed was not true she was a spitfire and unknown to his son Kagome herself.

Touga shrugs and can't help but wait for the drama to unfold. Kagome has been nothing but tolerant of Sesshomaru's off behavior of the last few weeks. He has been more playful than ever and spends a bit of time with her before Yumi arrives to talk about the plans then he becomes cold and distant. Touga only hopes that Kagome fights for what is rightfully hers and that she will not lose faith just because Sasshomaru is being unbelievably doubts that that will be the case, but worried none the less he promises to himself that he will tell Kagome if this goes on for longer and if she chooses to leave his ignorant son for his actions then he will not hold it against her. In fact he was going to bless her leaving if she so chose to since it was only honorable to apologize for the slight on her person. Not knowing what else he could possibly do for the girl other than to let her decide if it was worth being around or if the slight was just too much. He knew she had backed out of an arranged marriage that her father had set up much to her father's chagrin and pursued Sesshomaru once he has known a liking to her. He also knew that the prince she was to marry would be more than happy to have the rare jewel that is Kagome especially when the said prince was one of a distant land and two had a vendetta against Sesshomaru for stealing his bride from under his nose along with the fury he will hold for the slight. Thor would definitely not allow such a thing to happen to his precious friend and secret love. If the norse prince found out there would be hell to pay for sure and no Kami would step in the of him to help out Sesshomaru. Touga had tried already to put a stop to it but could not.

FLASHBACK

Sesshomaru knocks on the door of his father's study. "Come in." He hers his father boom out and enters silently.

A/n SO it seems that trouble is brewing for Kagome and from the sounds it will not be very pretty, buyt fear not my faithful readers it is not over yet and only time will tell if Sesshomaru and Kagome will be together.
