Steve was coming back to the apartment he had been staying in, when he had noticed that Helena was coming out of her friend's apartment, but she stopped when she saw him, giving him one of her bright smiles.

"It's good to see you again, Steve," she had said to him.

Helena still carried herself in such a way that had showed her own type of confidence, and nothing would have made her change that sort of thing. That really drew the attention towards her and only her.

"It is," Steve could only say to her. As always, he could not find any of the words to speak to her. His mind became completely empty whenever he was around her.

"I got something for you," she said to him, and she was quickly back in her friend's apartment before coming out carrying a box.

It was awkward enough for her to start to struggle in carrying it. He walked over to her and helped her to carry that box.

"This should help you with some of the stuff on your list," Helena told him. "The classics. Books. Movies. Anything I could find back at home."

"You didn't have to give that to me," he said to her. She was taking too much effort to help him, and he was starting to feel uncomfortable over that sort of thing.

She sniffed, but she was still very close to giving him one of her smiles. "You're not keeping these. You're borrowing them. I had to steal a lot of this from Dick."

"Dick?" Steve asked her.

That had to be a close relationship between the two of them. He could not help but feel a little deflated at that thought. Another man was lucky enough to be that close to her.

"My dad took him in when he was ten," Helena had said to him. "We were basically raised together. He's like a brother to me."

A part of him felt a strong sense of relief over that, and he did his best not to show that, though Helena had quirked up an eyebrow back at him, somehow being able to read that off him.

Steve led her into his apartment to place the box somewhere in there. He took a step back to watch her as she had emptied the box of what she had wanted him to see. Some were well-read books that were battered pretty badly over the years, though he was not able to really notice what they were from him being too focused on her. He picked one up to see she had written her name on the inside of the front of the cover underneath another woman's name, Selina Kyle.

"Selina Kyle?" Steve asked, causing her to quickly look at him. "Your mother?"

He could see the look of sorrow that came across her face when she was looking at him. Then, it turned into a really dark look, and it started to become very unsettling for him to see come from her.

"My dad gave her some of those books when they were younger."

She probably treasured them beyond anything else, being connected to her mother. And, she was letting him borrow them.

"I can't take these from you," Steve said to her.

She rolled her eyes, and the dark look was long gone. "I told you that you aren't keeping these. I'm letting you borrow them."

"You're going to insist, aren't you?" Steve asked her.

She gave him a small smile. "Take your time. Enjoy them."

"I will, and I will take care of them," he said to her. He looked at her intently for a moment, trying to find the words to say to her next. "Maybe we can watch these movies together."

Her smile became brighter when had suggested that to her. "I would love to do that, Steve. It's all up to you. Friday?"

"Friday."

Steve opened the door for her, and he watched her as she walked down the hallway, unable to tear his eyes away from her as she had walked.

Helena found Dick waiting for her back at her place. He was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, not looking happy in any way. She expected he would be by sooner rather than later.

"How long were you waiting?" Helena had asked him as she had unlocked the door to where she had been living.

"Not too long," Dick told her, and he walked with her into her place. "You took some of my stuff."

"A friend of mine's borrowing them," Helena said to him, and Dick looked at her in complete shock over what she had been saying to him. "Haven't seen any of those movies."

"What do you mean didn't see. . ." Dick stopped himself. "You're talking about Captain America. . .Steve Rogers. . .aren't you?"

"Who else?" She asked him. She was not seeing why that would have been considered a problem.

"You two seem to be getting close," Dick said to her. "Very quickly."

"So?" Helena challenged him. She narrowed her eyes back at him, and that was enough to cause him to grimace back at her. Helena knew exactly what he was going to say to her next.

"I wouldn't have a problem with that," Dick quickly said to her like he was trying to brush aside that one grimace. "But, you know Bruce would."

"He has nothing to be worried about," Helena said, rolling her eyes at the moment. She was starting to become very annoyed with her father's overprotective ways. "Not for me and not about him."

Dick was quiet as he had looked back at her. He found it hard to believe that she was not exactly seeing why she would have had that problem for her being around her.

"That won't be that easy, and you know it," Dick said to her. He paused for a moment, thinking about something else entirely. "He better take care of my stuff."
