First of all, thanks to all the amazing people who decided to leave reviews during the hiatus: Akela Victoire, Storm229, kingawesome, Laria, winxclubcharlie, Pani Drzwi, Gemma Cane, Broncat, sigourney, Freak666chaos, flying scourge, Zadien. Sorry if I missed anyone's name.

I just finished watching season six in Italian. It was supremely underwhelming. I don't think I'll bring in Thoren as a romantic interest for Dafne in this story. I am not a fan of ThorenxDafne namely because it seems very hollow to me. He and Nex may come in later if I need them.

Besides that, Politea's Revenge has been on a year-long hiatus because my inspiration to write this story went away as soon as I saw season six. I also wanted to see what they did with Dafne.

I owe all my readers and reviewers a giant apology for the long hiatus, and I am very sorry. You guys have been contacting me year round about this story. Thank you for your support and I am sorry for the long wait.

For those who need a quick reminder about this story, here's a summary of the last eight chapters:

The Guardian Fairy of the Infinite Ocean Politea wakes up after the curse of sirenix is broken. She vows that she will get vengeance on Dafne for betraying her and goes to Andros to interrupt the celebration officially ending the war against Tritannus. Nereus is named Crown Prince, much to his and Tressa's great sadness. On a happier note, Nereus shares the news that Dafne has come back amongst the living. Later that night, Dafne tells Bloom how hard life was during the war twenty years ago. Most important of all, Dafne reveals that she was the one who betrayed Politea and that she is cursed with Dark sirenix.

Politea attacks Laudine, the capital city of Andros, with her dragon Aristote. She fights a golden nymph who defends the city with a wall of diamond. Unfortunately, that golden nymph is not Dafne, but Diaspro. The gem fairy condemns Politea's violence and accidentally gets trapped in the Infinite Ocean unable to escape the perilous underwater realm or its guardian fairy.

On Andros, Sky is named Prince Regent after his father King Erendor suffers a terrible accident on the night of Politea's attack, making Sky one step closer to being King of Eraklyon. The people of Andros are on the verge of rebellion and are rioting for King Teredor's abdication.

The sun of the Infinite Ocean was searing white and made the sand shimmer like fairy dust.

Diaspro awoke with a start. She felt the sunshine dry her skin. The wet sand caked on her wings. She sat up and gasped, eyeing her surrounds. To her left and to her right were miles of idyllic beaches and in front of her was crystal clear ocean as far as the eye can see. She was in a veritable tropical heaven. This was not where she expected to be. A quick glance at the sky told her that she was not anywhere near Laudine. None of the six visible moons were in the sky and the air smelled fresh like flowers, rather than acrid sewer.

Her next surprise was that she noticed that her wings felt different, maybe stronger and bigger, gold-flecked and pearlesque. Her transformation was completely different. She gasped in surprise. Lengths of silver and gold ribbon reached up to her thighs. She noticed wrapped on her right arm was her turquoise scarf as well as the black crystal on a chain that she had used earlier to heal King Erendor. She wore a dress of milky satin with a train of ruching. Around her head was a crown of silver branches with dew-like pearls. None of it was familiar.

In her hand, she felt a weight. She sat up and found in her hand a golden star-shaped object with a amethyst in the centre. It had a peculiar magical gleam. She had never seen an object like this one, only heard about it from others, but she knew what it was instantly: a Sirenix Box.

Then she remembered the attack on Andros. She remembered drowning, dying and the cold darkness. Fear snaked down her spine biting her with the bitter poison of reality.

"I'm alive!" She ran her hands through her hair, feeling a braid at her hairline. She panicked, wondering where she was and how far away she was from Eraklyon.

"Did you know that you cry in your sleep?" a voice said.

Politea came to stand beside Diaspro. The red nymph's sirenix form was gone and had been replaced with a vibrant coral dress with a sheer train. Her wings had become a pale soothing green. Like her, she wore sandals that had length of mint green ribbon wound around her legs. She seemed calmer but her gaze was cold as ever.

"What did you do to me?!" Diaspro asked, meaning her new clothes and wings.

"I gave you harmonix."

"What do you mean 'you gave me harmonix'?"

"I saved your life by giving you the ability to use your powers underwater."

Diaspro shook her head, completely befuddled. "I don't understand. Why?"

"Because you're not Dafne and I didn't want you to do die. Do you need anymore reason? Now, get up. We need to get going."

"Go where? We're trapped in the Infinite Ocean. What was the point of giving me harmonix?!" Diaspro shouted. The girl rose, angry and confused.

"Did you want to die?" the nymph asked. "I can still kill you."

Diaspro quieted, her shoulders deflating. She realized how pointless her anger was. Her only option was to go with Politea and hope that she knew a way out of the this predicament.

"…no, not really."

"Do you want to get out of here?"

"Yes."

Politea motioned to the ocean. "Then let's go."

The Abyss was a place of infinite darkness. Its waters were black as obsidian rock and thicker than blood. It was home to the devourers, whale-like creatures with sharp teeth and a luminescent escas on their skulls. They were the wardens of the Abyss, luring any black souls back with the light of their escas. The screams of ten thousand tortured souls resonated in its depths.

The devourers gathered, thick as a wall, circling around a tower of blackened coral. They were gathered in an impatient frenzy around one lone man, not quite corporeal and not quite a spirit. He was their leader and master. He had the blackest of souls and held the greatest power among the prisoners of the Abyss. The devourers watched him, waiting.

He was sat down on the coral tower, legs crossed and his hands on his lap in meditation. His body, just like everything in the Abyss, was black, dyed by the evil energies. This man was the wanderer of the Abyss.

He opened his eyes, a deep demonic purple, sensing the irritation in the devourers. He stood up and the devourers scattered immediately. He sensed what they sensed: two new presences in the Infinite Ocean. He did not like it at all.

His body dissolved into a dark mist and he went to investigate.

Diaspro and Politea swam above the ocean floor, where much of it was grey and lifeless. The gem fairy thought that oceans were supposed to be brimming with colour and life. Everything was grey as granite. There were few fish and even less plants. She was even more distressed at the fact that she was in the water and still breathing.

Diaspro kept pace with Politea but she suspected that the red nymph swam slower than usual, what with her sirenix wings being fins. She also thought that wearing high heels in her harmonix form, a fairy form that was all about swimming underwater, was utterly impractical, but she had decided that she liked the look of them.

"Where are we going?" Diaspro asked.

"The Primordial Sea."

"Sounds like an old place. What is it? Besides being a sea."

"It's the birthplace of all life in the Infinite Ocean. I'm looking for a way to undo Omnia's curse on the Sirenix Gates. I don't have enough power by myself break it."

An idea came to Diaspro's mind. She thought of Tritannus and his mad conquest for power. "Why not use the Emperor's Throne?"

"No," Politea said curtly.

Diaspro was not ignorant to Politea's odd tone. "It's a very powerful object. Isn't it enough to help you break the curse?"

"I said, 'No.'"

"But why?"

Politea stopped to face Diaspro. "Because the power of the Emperor's Throne is pure evil. It is cursed by the first Emperor of the Infinite Ocean. It took all of the nymphs of Ethemera to imprison him and I spent years trying to stop Valtor and the Ancestral Witches from finding it. I'm not going to tempt fate and try to control its power. There are other—less dangerous—solutions that we can try."

The red nymph swerved and resumed her path, kicking bubbles into Diaspro's face.

"Oh, silly me. Of course, it's cursed!" The gem fairy rolled her eyes. This probably explained why Tritannus had gone inexplicably power mad in the final battle. Diaspro had seen it happen in other people before, notably Valtor.

The girl touched the metal collar on her neck and shook away the dark memories. That was neither here nor there. She had more pressing problems to deal with. She caught up with Politea.

"So how do you plan to get us out of here?"

"The Breath of the Ocean. Hopefully, it'll be enough to fix the Sirenix Gates and maybe replenish my powers. I haven't been able to open one since we got here."

"You seem pretty powerful to me."

"I'm not—not like before. I should be able to break Omnia's spell but the Ancestral Witches' curse did something to my powers and I don't know what."

"And you're hoping that the Breath of the Ocean can solve this?"

"Yes."

"What if it doesn't?"

Politea did not answer. Diaspro fingered her choker nervously. They were not desperate yet, but the gem princess wondered for a moment if she would be able to stand spending the rest of her life in the Infinite Ocean.

They travelled in silence for hours. Politea had found a current that helped to push them to wherever the Primordial Sea was and lessen the strain on their wings. It was midday when they swam up and breached the surface. Diaspro sucked in lungful of fresh air and it was glorious. She had never more thankful to see the sky or the sun than she did then. The two fairies were in the pale blue waters of a shallow picturesque lagoon and they swam for the shore.

The island had lush green vegetation and trees that were dense enough to create a cool canopy. Diaspro collapsed there and dozed for awhile.

Diaspro dreamt a horrible dream. It was one in which she saw a bleak future unfold. The King of Eraklyon was dying and the Queen was distraught, unable to carry on while her husband was in the hospital. Of course, she dreamt about the Prince Sky and the heavy burden that was on his shoulders.

Not for the first time, she was helpless to watch him as he sat on his father's throne. He was nothing like King Erendor, not in his looks or in his temperament. He was more the queen's son, than the king's. His presence felt foreign and hostile and everyone danced about him nervously, unsure if he was going to sit on that throne temporarily or worst.

It was not the first time that Sky had sat on the throne. Only during times of critical illness or emergencies did Sky return to the capital, much to court's chagrin. None of the older members of court liked him and they preferred him to be off planet, even though he had influence in the current generation's opinion.

She saw his lips move but she did not hear what he was saying. Sky looked his handsomest in his designer white jacket and grey suit pants with an Emblem of Erendor on his jacket lapel. When Sky wanted it, he could dress to kill. He brought a sense of modernity to the dreary room, save for the small band of gold around his temple: his princely crown with a ruby in the middle.

Even though she would never admit it aloud, Prince Sky was still too flighty for the throne. He was never home. He was always off with the Company of Light. King Erendor had never bothered to call him home until Tritannus had come to power and threatened their oceans. At which point, Sky began spending a lot of time at home with his mother and father, which also meant she began spending a lot time with him. It was natural because she was Queen Samara's lady-in-waiting. The paparazzi had eaten up how scandalous it was for the former royal couple to live under the same roof and work so closely after a disastrous breakup before their nuptials.

Diaspro brought a hand to her neck and fingered her metal torque. Only a close circle knew about her betrayal to the royal family. She could not lie to herself about how stupid she had been three years ago. She had selfishly taken advantage of Sky and tricked him into drinking a love potion.

There was no forgiving her for what she had done. She had hurt Sky in the worst way possible. She had taken his freewill away and the idea of how low she would go for her own ends shocked her. She realized she had become the thing that Erendor and Samara had tried to prevent. They had fostered her for years, trying to teach her to be a good princess and she had spat that back in their faces. There were no words to describe her shame.

Diaspro had not even waited for the curse on Sky to the wear off before she had left Eraklyon. The horror of what she had done was enough to keep her away and make her reevaluate her life. Her dream disappeared into black suddenly.

Diaspro was startled awake when she heard a skull-piercing roar. Her heart racing, she pushed herself up to see what monster was attacking.

Two long dark shapes rose out of the water. They had beak-like snouts with nostrils just above their large eyes, resembling ancient creatures. Around their neck was a frill of colourful spines, extended to look more menacing. One of the beasts opened its mouth, revealing long sharp teeth and letting a piercing roar that echoed for miles around. Diaspro recognised them as the monsters from Andros. The two beasts looked like ancestors to the dragons found on Eraklyon, and maybe they were.

On Andros, Diaspro had only seen how terrifying those beasts were. One them had sunken an Androsian frigate. But now, she could see how magnificent they were as well. Their skins were made of jewel-like scales and their faces had a regal air. They were like kings smiling and trading quips, like King Eredor and King Oritel. On each one of their foreheads was a stone embedded in their skin, looking much like the jewels of a crown.

At the moment, it seemed like the two beasts were fighting, flaunting their neck frills and letting out territorial roars. Diaspro found Politea sitting in the tide and joined her.

"Tell me about harmonix," the blonde asked. "Why do I have harmonix, and not sirenix?"

"Because sirenix is not just for anyone. In the wrong hands, it could be used to destroy the world."

"I'm sure that there are many things that could destroy the magical dimension, not just sirenix," Diaspro quipped, thinking from personal experience.

"Yes, well, we do try to stop people from destroying the world very often," the red nymph replied smartly. "Harmonix is a test to see if you are worthy of using sirenix, and if you are, you'll earn a Gem of Virtue. Your Sirenix Box holds your sirenix and if you can collect all the gems, you can unlock it and become a sirenix fairy."

"This is a first. I've never heard of going on a treasure quest to earn a fairy form." Diaspro summoned her Sirenix Box. She fingered the empty slots in each of the star-shaped box's points. She shook it, but she heard nothing inside. "If my sirenix is already in here, what happens if I try to open it now?"

"You lose your powers."

"And if I don't want sirenix?"

"You will still lose your powers."

Diaspro sensed Politea's hesitation. Her explanation did not seem as simple as she made it sound. "What do you mean lose my powers? Lose harmonix and the Sirenix Box?"

"All of your magical powers, even the ones you had before you got harmonix."

"Wait, how is this a fair tradeoff?" Diaspro started to panic.

"Sirenix isn't a natural fairy form like your charmix or enchantix, it's a piece of Sirenia's power."

"I…I don't understand." Diaspro's brows furled. "Who is Sirenia?"

"She is the goddess of the Infinite Ocean. She moulded us from clay and gave us life. When she went to rest, she broke her power into pieces and gave it us to continue her work. Her power isn't exclusive to one individual, like Dafne or her sister with the Great Dragon's Flame. We each bear the responsibility of using Sirenia's power. Because of that, you have to complete the sirenix quest in order to prove that you are worthy and capable."

"I have to lose my powers if I don't complete the sirenix quest? This doesn't sound fair."

"Fair is fair when you're trying to earn the power of a god. You have to give something in order to gain something. It's the rule of return."

"But I never wanted these powers. I didn't want harmonix or anything. You gave them to me!"

"I know."

"This isn't fair, Politea. Surely, you can see this. I don't want to lose my powers." Diaspro's voice grew loud and frantic. "Take it back!"

Politea winced. She could not bear to see the blonde girl's desperation. "I can't. You have one lunar cycle to complete the quest. The tests will come to you and it is up to you to pass them."

Diaspro curled her hands in the wet sand. The enormity of the truth hit her like a sledgehammer, as if her wings had already been ripped off. The tears came easily enough. This was definitely not how she imagined things would end up: trapped in an unknown realm with powers that were more or less a curse.

"I just need a minute. Excuse me." The blonde got up and walked away before she would embarrass herself in front of the nymph. She walked until she was on the other side of the lagoon. She needed to be by herself for a moment and she was glad that Politea did not follow after her.

She walked onto an alcove of sandstone. The rocks were uneven and sharp. She saw miniature white crabs scurry within their puddles. Every now and then, the waves would rush up and spray her. By now, she was shaking and crying uncontrollably.

She was not one to cry in front of people. She had spent a life time learning to be strong in front others. She had also made many mistakes in her life, but none have ever been so bad as the situation she was in now. She should not have run away. She should have listened to Sky and stayed in the chancery, she told herself. She was such a wretched child!

If she did not complete the sirenix quest, she would lose her powers. If she did continue and failed to complete the sirenix quest, she would still lose her powers. Neither of them were acceptable to her, but staying in the Infinite Ocean was just as bad. She did not belong in this world and the only thing sustaining her was harmonix. In the case that she was forever trapped, sirenix seemed like the only answer.

She wiped the water from her face. She was infuriated, overcome by the hopelessness of her situation. The idea of losing her powers horrified her. She would be rather be dead than powerless.

She had no choice. She could not just sit around and wait for Sky or Bloom to rescue her. She had thirty days—now, twenty-nine. She had to complete the sirenix quest, or at the very least, try.

Ocean spray washed the salty tears from her lips.

That was when she noticed the black clouds darkening expanse of ocean in front of her. The wind blew hard and magic thickened the air. Strong dark magic. It spread like oil, turning the water into a shiny black liquid.

Before she knew it, black tendrils shot out from the sea, wound around her leg and pulled her down breakneck speed. She crashed unto the seafloor.

A dark figure approached her, followed by a frenzy of nightmarish sea monsters. He exuded a powerful and stifling aura of dark magic. The monsters had a sort of lantern attached to their heads that cast out an eerily glow. He had a gaunt face with dark skin and deep-set glowing eyes. He regarded her with calm reticence.

She was no stranger to the dark arts. She knew what he was.

A dark wizard.

That was when she started to fight like hell.
