Author vs. End of Semester Projects

The author has a number of projects to complete by the first week of December. She is working on the most time-sensitive one, a proposal for her capstone, the final project for her degree program, a Master of Arts in Professional Writing. She pulls up ffnet to check a reference to her fanfics. She gets distracted and finds herself looking at reviews for Fandom vs. Fandom.

Inspiration comes to her aid! "Write a meta chapter about yourself versus the projects! Yeah, it's procrastinating on actually completing them, but it'll get you writing something at least."

The author considers this. "Hmm. It would also let people know I haven't fallen off the metaphorical face of the earth. Or should that be that I haven't metaphorically fallen off the face of the earth? Or... wait, no, the earth isn't metaphorical. Eh, whatev. Maybe someone will find that funny. Probably trying too hard, though. Oh, maybe that's my problem with my ESP. I'm trying so hard to focus that I've been focusing on my lack of focus instead of just simply focusing on the projects themselves."

Determination fills her.

"Mmm, determination tastes almost as good as mashed potatoes and root beer!" the author decides, then bops Distraction in the head, like the orc her DnD character got a triple-natural-20 against.

A/N: So, yeah. Not dead, just busy with my grad degree and DnD and Pern books and being an actual freelance editor-for-pay, not just a beta reader and aspiring editor.

Happy early Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans, and to all, God bless!
