Chapter 7a: Murmured whispers

Dorolak Thunderrage was incredibly angry at his loss by a human force, and Garrosh was near fuming, but Thrall remained even handed.

"These humans are vicious and evil, they fired noxious gaseous fumes at us similar to what the scourge used during the third war... and then they fired on us without cause and for no reason"

"How did you escape this force then... Dorolak?" spoke Thrall.

"One of my mage's summoned a portal here and rescued me... the weapons that these humans used were extremely accurate, as well as fast firing... i had no intention of losing to a Human, but in the end i still was defeated by a human"

Thrall contemplated things within his head, before he decided to ask a question.

"I spoke to this mage that saved you earlier today, he has said something different about the battle, he said that the Humans had no intention of causing harm, he even mentioned that you had charged them not only once but twice, this story of yours does not match up and i will get to the bottom of this"

Dorolak was afraid of being found out, but Garrosh was thankfully distracting the Warchief with his brand of racism and hatred that was well renowned throughout the horde.

"Warchief, why do you not send an army of warriors and subdue these humans... this 'Slavic Federation' of theirs sounds weak and cowardly, only with their technology to back them up in a fight... they would be easy to conquer and crush beneath our heels"

"Garrosh, how many times do i have to say it, i will not attack these Humans without a cause... no, i will send a delegation to see what they want, i myself will head there, and you will come with me, it is time that you learn about politics Garrosh... and to help temper that warmongering of yours"

Chapter 7b: Captured by Humans

Koto remembered the whole event through the streams of water that fell on him... the marching for hours on end through the desert... The metal bird thing that destroyed a Zepplin in a hail of hellfire... but what Koto remembered most was the coughing... the wheezing, the tears that fell from his eyes and the itching in his skin, he felt like he was on fire and he could do nothing but run and scream in pain...

Later, Koto heard the staccato rythm of crackling shots that sounded sort of like a dwarven firearm, but he could not see through his tears, and about three moments of agony later, he felt hands... small hands running through his body before they assisted him to stand up... it was at that moment that Koto realised that he was assisted by Human's, he could tell by the size and feeling of the hands that gripped him... he began to swing his fists in an attempt to defend himself and the humans backed off, a few moments later he heard new footsteps followed by the voice of the man that he recognized by the strange voice enhancer... the leader of the Humans.

"Stop, we are friendly, be calm and let us... fix you"

Koto wondered why a human would ever help him... the humans killed his parents and he learned first hand their viciousness... yet to hear the words from this... human, they calmed him in a way, and that made him curious.

"Why ya fix me?"

The man spoke back in a sincere voice.

"Do not mistake me for the rest of the Humans that you may have met... it is in the Slavic Federation's best and most sincere wish that all shall be treated fair and well, even to aliens, but i must also unfortunately take you prisoner as well for your actions as a belligerent party"

"What be tha Slavic Federation?"

"We are... how can i explain this?... we are a group of Humans from a grouping of... large tribes, the largest of these tribes being called the Russians... We come from another... lets just say that we come from another realm, that is all that you need to know for now"

Koto decided that he had no choice but to submit to the Humans and await his fate...

"Soldier, find the spray, i want that stuff spread through all those inflicted, but i want you to take away their arms first... Lethal weapons may be used as a last resort, but if you must use force, use a Non-Lethal weapon type... And remember to emphasize the proper use of force, i don't want you shooting anyone just because you saw them flex a muscle"

Koto heard more shuffling footsteps, and then he felt as a cool mist spread upon his body... where the mist touched he could feel the return of sensation aside from rolling pain, and when the mist was sprayed over his eyes... his vision began to clear a bit at a time.

A moment later, he was lead to the top of a dune where he was sat down alongside several others, Koto could see from the top of the dune as more and more Human soldiers used these small bottles to spray healing liquid over those whom were incapacitated, when they came to, some resisted but they were quickly put down with these strange contraptions, some where musket like weapons that they pumped up and down whilst others were like a dwarven pistol and shot small darts attached to a thin wire that seemed to spark up electricity... strangely however Koto could not feel any mana emerge from the pistols to explain the sparks coming from the weapon, nor could he feel any fey energies.

Koto sweated plenty as the sunlight beamed through the land, and thirst caked itself over his dry tongue, but it seemed that the Humans knew that as well, when one of the Humans passed by and gave everyone a small drink out of a few of his canteens... Koto noticed that not many of the Horde were not very appreciative, so Koto felt it would be nice to be appreciative, so he decided to thank the water carrier, besides to Koto that it was common sense to be nice to the person who provided you with food or water, otherwise they might spit or piss in your meal or cup, or not give you with food or drink in the first place.

"Thank ya mon"

"бы ни чужды"

Koto did not know what the Human had said, but he assumed that it was a thank you.

Later on, Koto saw as small objects flashed on the horizon... originally he mistook it as a mirage in the desert, but later on, the objects came closer and closer until he saw as large box like vehicles not too dissimilar to the Dwarven steamtank contraptions, only these ones where much more impressive and larger as well.

Soldiers emerged from metal doors held inside of the vehicles, and he saw as soldiers paced themselves to nearby metal racks and retrieved weapons and other objects from them before they rushed out over to the dunes.

The Soldiers quickly rushed up and made everyone fold their arms behind their backs and then had metal hand-cuff's, and whenever someone resisted, they were shouted at to stop, and if they did not stop, they were shot at by the nonlethal weapons and incapacitated enough that a nearby soldier would forcefully place the hand-cuffs over them.

When everyone had a handcuff over them, they were lead in front of the large vehicle's, and then soldiers began to partition the line into three groups, with the injured or incapacitated people left into one group and the rest where left in two groups... when the lines were properly split, soldiers came around and shouted for everyone to lower their heads to the ground... and naturally this action was met with some anger on the part of the Horde members, even Koto himself was enraged... but Koto had no choice but to do as asked.

Another moment later, Koto had a black cloth held out over his head so that he could not see, after what felt like an hour, he was lead into the vehicle by careful hands ready to assist him if he fell... it was a shame that he could not see anything with the cloth over his head, otherwise he would have given the Human vehicle a look over, and perhaps send information back to Goblin traders and the Warchief... or Garrosh.

After what felt like an hour or so, they were lead out of the 'steamtanks' and into a corridor or something that had metallic flooring due to the way the floor sounded with every step, and they were eventually marched into a large room, kodo could tell by the way the sounds dissipated... but eventually he heard someone speak in harsh common.

"Remove zyhor clothes and place them in dhis large box, if you have clothing on at the end of the corridor we will take dhem off you, understand"

Kodo remembered that it was such an odd request, but one by one a soldier removed the cloth hoods and removed the hand cuff's so that the prisoner could remove all of their clothing... what was happening, where they being screened for slavery?

And then it was Kodo's time, it was very awkward removing all of his clothing and revealing his nudity in front of his fellow Horde members, and it was very humiliating and embarrassing to be so completely at the mercy of his enemies... yet they were being given better treatment here than they would ever receive from the Alliance.

And then he heard it... from a neighbouring Orc no less, talking to a nearby human soldier...

"You see something you like human, embarrassed about your puny si..."

And then Kodo saw it as the Orc was decked across the shoulderblade with the buttstock of the humans weapon... the human then replied in horribly broken common.

"Get back in line, you don't make... another move... my weapon... is capable of putting you down, and i will put you down"

The Orc continued to act brashly, and prepared to lunge at the Human, and the Human soldier responded in kind with a shot from his weapon.

Kodo saw as the Orc was dropped to the ground from the solid impact of the weapon, at the same time the other soldiers in the room quickly crossed over.

"Line up to the sides... hands on your heads"

Kodo did as he was commanded, he put his hands on his head before he walked up to the side of the room.

"Okay prisoners, in a moment you will feel wet and cold... dhis is called the shower, you will clean yourself with the provided materials... each will be provided with a sponge, a bar of soap, a towel and a toothbrush and tooth paste, if you mess around then my soldiers will be very thorough with cleaning you... with the fire hydrant, misplace one of dhose items or if you lose dhem you will not be provided with another one, so keep dhem safe, dhat is all"

A soldier passed out a sponge, a towel and a small brush alongside a small tube with a cap on it... Kodo knew about the first two objects, but he did not know about the third or the fourth object, what where they for?

And then there was a soldier who arrived and shouted out to the room, this time the person spoke common quite well.

"I am here to talk to you about your new daily routine, every day at 0700 hours, you will be awoken and you will all line up to be checked out by a medical professional, you will open your mouths and allow for the Doctor to check every part of your body, you cannot decline to be searched. When this is done, you will be provided with breakfast. At 0800 hours you will each line up to the showers and you will take a two minute shower, when this is done you will rinse off and brush your teeth. At 0900 hours you will be given one hour of break time. At 1000 hours you will be given one hour on the track. At 1100 hours you will then be given 3 hours of study and course times. At 1400 hours you will then be provided with Lunch. At 1500 hours you will then be given two hours of break time. On 1700 hours you will continue your study course for two more hours. At 1900 hours you will be provided with dinner and you will be provided with 2 and a half hours of breaktime. At 2130 hours is bedtime, those who make troubles for the timeline will be dealt with severely"

At that, the Soldier then left, and as soon as the metal doors were closed, rain fell down from the skies... Yes, Kodo reflected on his past, it was the only way to remember that he was once free, and thus remove his head from the situation at hand.

Chapter 7c: A Drink To Remember

It was night in Khrabrost Station, the Colonist's were at work building the Prefabricated shelters from scratch, it was simple and easy to set up a Prefab shelter, and thus it would only take a month or two to have the 10,000 or so houses up and ready, Engineers were at work attempting to figure out places to build future roads and pathways.

Kozlov could not help but reflect back on the situation, could he have altered his actions, could he have stopped what had happened...

Kozlov knew that he couldn't have changed anything, but the thoughts still nagged at the back of his mind.

As though to break him from his mind, he heard a knock coming from the door to his office.

Kozlov reached out for the door, his hair in disarray from where he had scratched at the back of his head.

"Yes?"

Kozlov then saw the face of one of his soldiers... the one that was assigned with Kaja and the one that he had demoted, private Strelkov Antonovich.

"Anton, why are you here?"

Strelkov handed Kozlov a bottle of good Vodka, expensive when compared to the only other kind that was allowed on Khrabrost station.

"Me and Ivan where discussing you, and we thought that you could use a drink, we even knocked back a few with that plate-armoured man with the Greek sounding name"

Kozlov sighed, they had given Anachronos the tour of the Russian liqueur, and he hoped that any mishaps would not affect his diplomatic viability.

"You must forgive me Anton, but i have not drunk once since i became a cosmonaut, and i do not want to get caught up in it again, but i will take your gift regardless"

Strelkov then spoke up.

"About my demotion si..."

"Anton, do not try my patience, if this Vodka was your attempt at regaining my graces, you are sorely mistaken, you lost Kaja to an alien being, why were you not with her?... she is my responsibility and i needed a scapegoat, you understand my reasoning, so do not test my fucking patience... dismissed"

Strelkov had never heard the General swear before, perhaps the battle from earlier had really gotten to him, but it was not aided that Strelkov felt guilty about losing Kaja, why was he not escorting her, it was negligence on his part that fucked everything up.

"Yes General... good day"

Strelkov closed the door and proceeded to walk down the hallway.

Kozlov just stood their with the bottle in his hand, observing the label of the bottle repeatedly, and temptation hit him, one drink could not kill him.

Kozlov reached out for one of his clean coffee mugs before he uncapped the bottle and poured out a small portion before resting the bottle down on the table and replaced the cap.

Kozlov sat down and gave the liqueur a sniff, the pure heady smell lifted him back to memories of his college days, back when he was still surviving from his PTSD and Survivors guilt, back when everything was completely shit... the same sort of feeling that Kozlov was feeling now after the battle.

Kozlov quickly poured the contents of his mug down his throat and he almost sneezed at the high quality contents of the alcohol... it went down smooth and left a fire down his stomach, one he had not felt in many years.

"Here's to winning" Kozlov cheered to himself sarcastically, as he poured himself another drink.

Kozlov halted himself as he poured his fourth drink, he may have been confused emotionally, but he would let cooler minds prevail, after all, he had to be responsible not only for himself but for the 10,000 people who where now calling this place, Azeroth, their new home.

Kozlov quickly drifted off to a restless sleep.

What do you think?

As of now, i will try to avoid using the Russian language, and i will now only use the Russian language when it comes to Azerothians hearing Russians speak... hopefully so that i don't piss off a ton of Russians with horrible google translator translations.
