Mikan may have saved Hotaru from the worst, but there was still Iinchou's Alice that is left unretrieved. Just as she wanted to go alone, she ended up bringing her senior, Tsubasa and subsequently, Ruka and Natsume who had surprisingly joined them. Making matters worse, Hotaru's invention, Penguin, has been following them through the warp hole that had brought them to another location. Guardians or not, Mikan would need to get back the Alice back from the boss.
But there were different kinds of trouble that almost made Mikan swore in 7 different types of languages if she wasn't on a mission.
"Throw that penguin away." Natsume spoke, "It made a mess from what we are supposed to do."
"What?!" Mikan screeched, "I can't do that! Stop dumping all the blame onto Penguin!"
Natsume harshly hit Mikan's head, though it hadn't had much effect on the said brunette herself. ("Blame it on training!" She screamed.)He was angry, that was for sure. She could remember what kind of dangers it could possess as Nonno had taught her. Natsume had to be the one to be looking out for others, reducing the amount of casualties that one could cause. Mikan sighed and muttered. "Sorry, Natsume."
Mikan walked ahead of Natsume as he continued with the next sentence. "Are you going to act like the last time?"
Mikan stopped walking as her head was down and kept quiet before she spoke quietly. "Yeah. So stay away from me."
Mikan suddenly walked towards Natsume as she whispered. "It's better if you stayed away from me, a monster." She turned away when she stopped.
"Guys, we have incoming," Mikan announced. "Don't do anything!"
Natsume was at his attacking position while Tsubasa and Ruka were hiding in one corner. Everything was turning into stone when everything stopped. Mikan gritted her teeth as she slumped down and took a few deep breaths.
"Mikan-chan!?" Ruka rushed towards her, only to be pushed away.
Mikan had been coughing heavily, growling. "Argh….. It's acting up again huh?" Mikan took up a box where she took up a vial of black liquid.
"Mikan-chan, what is that?" Tsubasa asked. Mikan drank it down before she spoke.
"Ojii-sama told me that my powers went out of proportion when I was young, so he had sealed it up without letting anyone know that I have an Alice." And flames of course. Mikan thought to herself. "If it grows any bigger than that, I would have to be sent back to my family by hook or by crook."
Everyone frowned at her words when she continued. "Let's just try and get back Iinchou's Alice. Don't worry about me too much." Mikan smiled as they continued walking.
It has been late at night where Ruka was sleeping. Mikan had woken up and walked towards the river to wash up when she found her communicator ringing. A thread was on her finger, but Mikan could roughly know who was behind it.
"Hello?"
"Sakura." A female spoke. Her device suddenly changed into a compact sized visualizer, showing the hologram of the entire place. Teresa stood there in full glory with her Kumoito, closing her eyes as she spoke. Right behind her were some of the members sitting down on the black sofas. Mikan realized that they were actually in the Notte Fantasma mansion.
"Techii….." Mikan called out. "Is there anything wrong?"
"Sakura, Aunt Nana wants you to pull out from this now."
"What!?" Mikan shouted softly. She couldn't afford to wake the rest of them.
"Mikan," Nana stared at her with stringent eyes, "You can't just rely on the medication that Tsuna had given you. We have Sun flames here to get you treated-"
"No, Nana-san! I've talked to Boss today! Just let me do finish my job and I'll come back!" Mikan pleaded.
"Sakura Yukihira Mikan!" Nana shouted, her crimson eyes getting darker by the second, even to look like blood red. "You are endangering yourself for too long! How long are you going to worry us as your family members?!"
Mikan kept quiet as Nana continued. "You are one of our heirs in our Famiglia. And you should know very well what does Ohana means to us!" Nana had completely lost control of her flames, but the materials that were around the room were all flame resistant. Even so, Mikan could see that it was beginning to burn the material.
"Sorry, Nana-san…" Mikan slumped down as she broke down. "But see this state of a school is not what I want! This school, while it doesn't allow any outsiders to enter, it has to be a great school that even when they leave, they will still remember it as their home."
Nana softened her eyes as the flames calmed down.
"I think it's a great wish Mikan-san." Another voice decided to join in, shocking the rest of the members.
"Tsuna-sama! Why are you here! You should be resting!" Hayato panicked.
"Tsuna, we just finished fighting with Capalbo Famiglia and you fought against Carlo Capalbo, so you should really be resting." Takeshi frowned.
Before anyone could continue, Kyoya knocked his sky out, making him unconscious. "Rain, do it."
Takeshi sighed as he used his rain flames, making Tsuna who was struggling to wake up fully fall asleep.
"What did that Famiglia do anyways to garner our attention?" Mikan mused.
"They tried to steal our base at Palermo." Mikan raised an eye.
"Isn't that the one where it's Vongola's territory?"
"About that….." Mikan paled at the explanation.
"I'm gonna pity you and boss for this one, Nana-san." Nana sighed. The devil of paperwork never ceases to die any longer.
"Sakura." Teresa looked away as she spoke. Mikan squealed at her wind guardian's reaction. "I know, I know. I'll get back with you soon with that in my hand." Teresa slightly blushed from Mikan's words.
"Thanks…"
"Got to go soon, everyone. I shouldn't be up too late." Everyone from the Notte Fantasma mansion waved goodbye as the compact stopped working and turned back into her hair clip. She started to walk back when she heard someone coughing badly.
"Oi, Natsume!?" Tsubasa called, "Hey, what's wrong really?"
His question was answered when he saw the amount of blood in Natsume's hands.
"Hey-"
"Shut up….. You'll wake Ruka up." Natsume retort.
"What are you saying? You're even coughing up blood-"
"It's nothing much." Natsume interrupted, "So shut up. This kind of thing will immediately pass…."
Tsubasa stared at Natsume with shock. "You're still saying it's nothing much." Mikan from afar could feel Tsubasa's memories flowing in. Tears were falling out of her eyes as she could sympathize with Natsume's suffering.
"When did it start-"
"Don't tell Ruka," Natsume warned as he grabbed Tsubasa's collar. "I won't let you tell them. If you dare to say it, I'll kill you."
He let it go as he continued. "You asked 'When did it start', right? This whole year, I've been completing undercover work for the school in this condition. Forget what you just saw, otherwise, I could sneak up and attack you at any time."
Both of them kept quiet for a few moments before Mikan decided to step in and smile. "Ah~ That was peaceful." Mikan snapped her finger softly as she put Tsubasa to sleep.
"Ne, Natsume-san," Mikan smiled as she grabbed something from her bag. Natsume caught the bottle which surprised him a little. "It should help with your condition a little."
Mikan propped beside Natsume, staring at the moon. "Ah, Tale Bella luna." Mikan smiled.
"What are you doing here awake?" Mikan pout before she became much more serious.
"I heard your conversation, Natsume-san." Mikan helped Natsume to open up the vial and encouraged him to drink it. "If you still have a chance, would you still want this Alice?"
"What's the point of asking this question when you can't do anything?" Mikan laughed at the question.
"For now, Natsume-san. I am an enemy and an ally to this school after all." Mikan giggled. "I can't show all of my powers right now right? I'll be immediately be used by the school if that happens."
"You know, I'm actually one of the rare exceptions of the family. Not as the one who has an Alice at home, but we have something rare in our families that others would find it hard to believe." Mikan laughed. Mikan turned to Natsume as she placed her hand on his chest. A soft yellow glow shone and disappeared. Natsume suddenly felt a lot better, if it wasn't for the fact where Mikan was actually coughing out blood.
"Oi!"
"Don't worry. This is what happens if I don't follow rules that my family has set for me." Mikan coughed. "I'm actually in no better shape than you, Natsume-san."
"You're really an idiot." Mikan huffed.
"Sorry for being one then." Mikan stuck out her tongue at him, finding him still a nuisance.
"We need to get going now. It's coming daylight."
Meeting boss again can be nerve-wreaking for Mikan, but really seriously, of all things to use, why is she fighting against the boss?
"Why did you need such a nuisance of a power?" The boss dodged as she moved away.
Mikan closed her eyes and breathed in carefully. Her eyes were in a deep crimson state, the state where she would usually fight. Her night flames were burning on her hands.
"You have grown pretty well, Mikan," Mikan smirked as her flames stopped. "Buongiorno, Madre."
"Buongiorno, il mia figlia." She smiled as she took off her goggles. Mikan could feel the flames changing around her.
"Mist flames huh?" Mikan smiled as she continued in Italian.
"They have quite a few cameras after all." Mikan felt the Sun flames healing her from her previous attacks. "Take care of yourself well, my child. And we will once meet again."
Mikan smiled as she ran out of the room, only to find herself in a different situation when she entered the other.
"Don't come over Mikan!" Tsubasa shouted when Mikan found out what was happening. So Organization 'Z' had their hands on the ten-year bazooka!?
Mikan disappeared in a cloud of pink smoke, replaced by a person older. "Arara….. Do we really have a lot of accidents in this family often?" The woman spoke. She had worn a black colored suit and a skirt along with a button-up shirt underneath the coat. On her face is a starry midnight black half eye mask that had a unique design to it, covering her left eye that was of crimson colored. The eye that was left uncovered had the color of hazel.
She looked quite friendly if it wasn't for the fact where her killer intent had not been tightly closed. She smirked at everyone who held guns towards her and laughed. "You think guns could stop me, idioti?"
Everyone started firing their weapons, varying from normal guns to machine guns that were quite impossible to escape from. It had continued for a minute when everyone stopped. The boys were shell shocked from the attack that the woman had just suffered. The cloud of dust disappeared, revealing no one was there.
Giggling was heard everywhere around the room, and it could even be dubbed as creepy if it's for the situation. "Miss me boys."
She stood proudly as she held a bag up and revealed the contents by scattering all the bullets out.
"Mo-Monster!" The men were freaking out from the sight of all the bullets scattering around the floor. Just before there were only bullet shells left, and it had really frightened them to the core.
"Ahhh~ Me? A monster?" She pouted. "You should have seen how il mia husband fights with fire, witless fools." She gave a haughty laugh. "Oh, well….. There is only 1 minute left on the clock so if you pardon me, I'll be taking these children back to where they belong."
"I wouldn't let you do so young lady." One of the main personnel declared.
"Non non non. It's you who has to be watching out." Ice was forming on his legs, rendering him immobile. She smiled. "You should be glad I didn't use Congelatore on you, Signore." She warped the rest of them out of the building and released all three of them.
"Oi, who are yo-" Before Natsume could finish his sentence, Mikan reappeared again in pink smoke. "Fratelli stupido!"
Mikan growled as she brushed herself from the dirt.
"What happened to you, Mikan?" Tsubasa asked. Mikan huffed and anger as she muttered something inaudible to their ears, but Tsubasa could see that she had been much hyped than before. And to even put it simply, she looked like she had been fired up with something that had really bothered her since she came back.
"Nothing of importance, Tsubasa-sempai." Mikan reassured, "Let's just go back before anything happens."
"Mikan! Natsume! Ruka!" Everyone in their class rushed towards them. Mikan felt slightly surprised as she didn't really think that they would really wait for them even at a time late at night. Tsubasa returned to his room since he himself was supposed to be from Middle school and he needed to rest from the adventure that they just went through.
"Were you all waiting for us? Even waiting up till this late….."
"Of course! Everyone was so worried about what time you'd come back, none of us could sleep." Mikan could see that Natsume and Ruka were going to get squished by almost everyone who missed them.
"Mikan! "It's great that you're alright."
"Iinchou."
"So… How's the stolen Alice?" Mikan dug through her pocket and gave it to Iinchou.
"It was a little hard to obtain, but I managed to snatch your Alice from the woman who stole your Alice." Except boss was the one who gave it to me instead of stealing. Mikan thought to herself.
"As for Penguin…" Mikan bit her lip. She actually liked the penguin that brought her a little happiness she needed.
"Thank you, Mikan." Iinchou smiled as he took his Alice. As he absorbed his Alice, he took Mikan's hands and his forehead was leaning against hers. "It's alright, Mikan. Penguin is in a better place even though it's very sad for us." Mikan's bangs covered her eyes. She wasn't as what everyone had expected her, and she had been a monster; a monster that is not supposed to get near them.
Mikan had known that during Tsubasa's sleep later, he would have his memories erased of what had happened during their encounter with Organization 'Z' along with Ruka. She could only allow the raven to know.
Because she needed to let him see that he wasn't the monster. He was only protecting his sister and hadn't truly killed anyone in his hands.
"And Mikan," Iinchou continued, "Narumi-sensei found out about it, so we might have to be a little more careful about it."
Narumi waited patiently with nonchalance as he stood there when a woman and a man walked towards them.
"Narumi," Yuka spoke as she stood there.
"Long time no see, Yuka-sempai. Shiki too." Narumi leaned against the tree, "I figured as long as I waited, I'd find you here. I figured if you'd had seen Mikan and the others, you'll definitely come here, to sensei. My students have been under much of your care." Yuka stared at the tomb of her own husband, but inside of it had been a fake double found near the school.
Narumi frowned slightly as he continued. "Where are the children?"
Yuka nonchalantly spoke. "Don't know, but take care of Mikan for me."
"Why?" Yuka's eyes saddened slightly before they turned back into cold ones.
"These kids are lucky enough to have her there. She will be the guiding light that will break the darkness in the school." Yuka trailed off, "Enough to even reveal the evil doings of this school."
"You had a proper meeting with that child, haven't you." It wasn't a question, but rather the truth. "How is it?"
"She's an arrogant, obnoxious, little brat." Yuka replied, "But this is only her cover. Watch out for her mental state. She still doesn't trust everyone after all."
"She still doesn't trust… What do you know about her?" Narumi narrowed his eyes.
For the first time in their short conversation, Yuka gave him a small smile. "She is my child, after all, I still keep tabs on her. She has gone through a lot for il mia Famiglia, so help her along the way." Yuka giggled before she regained her stoic face.
"I expect her to grow beautifully the next time I see her, Narumi." With that, Yuka and Shiki walked off, leaving Narumi confused.
(Present)
Ienari remembered the times where he was being cruel to his own brother. But he wanted the attention of his parents. His mother had been always more concern about Tsuna than him, even though he was better than his brother.
His father, in true fact, had only been concerned about his position within the mafia and had not cared much for Tsuna who had lower talent than him. That was why he preferred his father than his mother in the first place. He didn't really hate his brother.
He just didn't like all the attention to go away and disappear from his sight. Ienari saw the Vongola ring on his table. The Vongola had rejected him and his resolve. But the main question is: What is really his resolve?
To really to be that cruel and destroy whatever annoys him?
Or to really be his true self where he might have insecurities and still could trust a person?
The Vongola ring shone at the time where he was unconsciously thinking. He would prefer to be his former self, after all, the one where his guardians had trusted his true self.
Ienari gasped as he heard a still voice. [I'll accept your resolve, Decimo.]
Ienari had a tear dropping down his cheek. The ring could understand what he was feeling after all.
A knock disrupted his lonely self and rubbed his face. "What?" Ienari asked.
"Ienari," Tsuna stood outside his door.
"What do you want from me? I'm a Vongola and you're a Notte Fantasma. We're supposed to be enemies."
Tsuna gave a dry laugh. "Hahaha... Is that so?" Tsuna's eyes softened and he closed his eyes for a moment.
Ienari widened his eyes as Tsuna revealed his eyes. "Your eyes…"
Tsuna smiled sadly. "Yes, Ienari. They were supposed to be hazel brown. My flames blew out of proportion." His voice quivered, sounding as cold as death itself. His eyes gave a wounded look.
"Ienari," Tsuna spoke, "I want you to promise me one thing."
"What."
"Don't be like that man," Tsuna shook his head, thinking that he spoke out the wrong words. "No…. Don't be like me…" Tsuna's voice was getting softer.
Ienari kept silent. "You will have this house back since it's from that man."
"Why?" Tsuna's tears fell as he heard the simple question.
"I'm not fit to be your brother Ienari." Tsuna ran away into his room. Ienari could only stare at the silhouette that slowly disappeared.
Tsuna's face was scarlet and swollen from crying. He would better have to pack up his clothes and his mother's since she wouldn't wish to come back here. The house was filled with too many painful memories after all.
But he shouldn't be worrying too much of this now. He had to fight the Varia from being a Vongola heir himself, lest his own brother would feel threatened that his position being compromised. He is a Notte Fantasma, while Ienari is a Vongola, and enemies is not a term they could simply use anymore.
They were a threat to Notte Fantasma and vice versa.
He has to start planning for all the battles, and maybe fighting with Mikan and her other counterpart guardians could make a good idea. But he would need much more concise backup planning if they all wanted to go unscathed. Contingency plans are a must that he must have, a necessity that he couldn't leave without.
He will be calling his guardians for their Night meetings, swearing that he would never abandon his mother and their counterparts.
As far as Ienari could see, Tsuna and some of the council members were on leave, something that the school is happy about. Their Kaichou has been working in and out, day and night to give them the best experience of a school life, preparing them for the world outside of this place, before they leave school. They have many successful men and women from their school, and being Kaichou is a hard job.
But it has its perks too. One of them is having the big companies to chase the said student to work for them as their executive. But it wasn't always deeply appreciated.
Ienari knew better what is really going on. Tsuna had denounced himself from being his brother, and being his enemy instead. Suddenly he wants to turn everything back, where he wasn't so mean to his twin and spend more time with him. None of this could have happened if their father knew what to do as a family man.
Nana had a choice whether she would join back as a Mafia Boss or as a housewife, but Tsuna had been further into this business much deeper than anyone expected. He was an heir to the Notte Fantasma along with that Mikan girl that had warned him once.
It was too shocking for the blond to admit, but he would have to take up his position and maybe one day, he would form an alliance with Notte Fantasma to stop the chaos. "Sorry Tsu-nii, but it's for the best for the both of us if we want to be brother in the future."
Quiet, strong clacking could be heard from the shoes of the person walking as he strode down the hallway of the dark mansion. He wasn't nervous about the meeting of his own members, for he was the one who initiated everything. His left eye was covered with a midnight half eye mask and he had fingerless gloves on his hands.
His left eye was left to be in this color due to the strong amount of flames flowing through, and all he could do is to wear contact lens so that he wouldn't have any problems when he's working.
The meeting place was dark, but it wasn't gloomy at all. In fact, it reeked of killer intent everywhere. He stared at the 7 who was standing while waiting for him.
"My Storm, My Comet," A teen had a crimson mask adorned on his face, bowing to his boss.
"My Rain, My Snow," The raven next to him grinned, bowing as if it wasn't an important meeting.
"My Sun, My Moon," He looked like he tried to tone down his enthusiasm quite a lot if they have known this person.
"My Thunder and Lightning, My Aurora," Being the youngest of them all, he didn't look like he was of his own age at all.
"My Cloud, My Wind," This raven looked like he didn't want to do with any of them, but he still held respect for the boss that was in front of him.
"My Twin Mists, My Twin Eclipses," They were of mirror images itself, but their style was of the opposite of the other.
"Our Sky, Our Night," All seven of them chorused together as they spoke.
His eyes glinted as he opened up the roof of the meeting room, the full moon shining brightly on him. "Let our night start~"
Omake
The first main thing that had happened had been one of the worst memories Mikan ever had. Mikan had appeared in pink smoke and grabbed by two pairs of hands that had locked to each side of her arms.
"Wha-"
"Sorry, Mikan." One of them spoke, smiling and not regretting any single bit of trapping the brunette. "We're gonna do something that is a little out of control for you."
"Tsuna?!" Mikan exclaimed as she observed the changes on the brunet. His left eye was of red color and cover with a midnight half eye mask while his right was of amber colored. He wore a pin-striped suit and had a black cape behind him, using the chains to secure the cape. He gave a smirk as he walked towards Mikan.
"You're in too much of stress, young missy. And it's time to set you straight." Tsuna spoke. Mikan realized that his voice had gone deeper than what she had thought. Heck, he hadn't even looked like he had been such a charismatic man 10 years down the road with Tsuna being a little shy in her time.
"Sorry, Sakura/Mi-chii." The two who stood beside her could only smile and stare at her.
"Eh!?" Mikan hadn't known of the ladies on her sides, and she had been trying hard to get away from the hands she was in. A pair of hands grabbed her shoulder, making Mikan turn her head, only to find a set of crimson eyes staring intently at her.
"It's been a long time since I saw my beautiful wife in this form huh?" Mikan blushed. Apparently, she had gotten married at a relatively young age with a man who looks like a famous model that came out of the top magazine. "And she is still wearing the childish underwear that her clone is wearing."
Mikan gasped. "Stupid pervert!"
The man smirked as he scooped her up. He took a nibble on her neck when someone spoke.
"Mi-chii's too young for this now. Don't destroy her innocence." The blond spoke as she was playing with her tuning forks.
"And I prefer my girl that way. Makes me want to have her more." Mikan was blushing from the contact that this man was making. She had been squirming around and he had made it all the more intimating for her. "And she's mine from the time where we had our first kiss." He kissed her on her cheek.
"Ca-Can you please sto-stop it?" Mikan plead. She wasn't even ready for this!
His crimson eyes stared into her hazel brown eyes. "I will let my younger self work the magic on you eventually." Mikan stared at confusion as he spoke something entirely different. "Are you done with it?"
Another man gave a punch in the air and grinned. "All done!"
Mikan couldn't remember but falling unconscious upon the contact of the man kissing her forehead. It took almost the last 30 seconds before she woke up and felt all the more energized, and she wasn't feeling as horrible as before with her health. Tsuna merely smiled and waved goodbye before she went back to the forest with Tsubasa, Natsume, and Ruka.
The older version of her strode towards the man and gave him a sensual kiss on mouth to mouth. It wasn't a graceful sight for Lambo or Fantina to see, and the rest of them were thankful that they were having a shoot all the way in Las Vegas.
"You have been playing with my younger self didn't you, Ignazio?" Mikan giggled as she broke their kiss. Ignazio looked like he was ready for another round. "I can see that you are willing to drag me to bed now."
Ignazio smirked. "Of course," He took some of her brunette hair and kissed it. "You looked the best when you are in our bed."
The couple would continue to flirt with each other if it wasn't for the fact where someone actually broke off their conversation. "Get a room, you lovebirds."
Mikan pout. "Let us just have some fun-"
"No, not in front of the children, Mikan." Tsuna spoke, "Take your fun somewhere before you start scarring the kids."
Ignazio sighed as he walked off. Mikan turned towards the girls. "Sorry, Tesa-nee, Gene-nee, if my younger self has caused you any trouble."
Teresa sighed while Genevra smiled. "No worries, Mi-chii~! I bet your younger self is doing better."
"Thanks, Ryo-nii for healing up my younger self."
"That's EXTREMELY alright!" Ryohei grinned, "It's my duty in this family after all."
Mikan was going to talk more with the members when Ignazio appeared out of nowhere and scooped her up.
"Ignazio?!"
"I'm tired of waiting." Ignazio groaned, "And I'm going to make it so difficult for you these few days that you can't stand up walking." Mikan blushed as they went out of the room.
A little more Natsume x Mikan at the Omake took a toll on me. Think for yourselves what happens in the room.
