Rub-A-Dub-Dub

All Weiss wanted to do was flop on her bed, close her eyes, and pretend that everyone in the world was as mute as she was annoyed. However, when she entered the room and found Yang and Blake hanging around the bathroom door with drinks and snacks, she knew that wasn't happening any time soon. Weiss was about to ask what the hell they were doing, but upon opening her mouth she was quickly met with a chorus of "shhhh" and waved over to join them in their...whatever the hell they were doing.

"Ruby's in there." Yang whispered to the heiress, who in turned raised a shapely eyebrow at her, making the blonde roll her eyes. "She's playing with Sir Floats."

"'Sir Floats'?"

"Her rubber ducky." Blake giggled. "Remember? The one she keeps in her desk? The one that wears that red cape and has on a knight's helm, but still has its little beck poking out of it?"

"Ah." Weiss nodded her head as she recalled seeing the small bath toy when Yang was showing it to everyone. She was quiet for a moment more before she sighed and asked the obvious question that needed to be asked. "So, why are we camping out in front of the bathroom then?"

"To listen in...duh!" Yang huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Excuse me?" Weiss gasped, a small blush playing across her cheeks. "We're doing what?"

"According to Yang, Ruby always acts out some play with Sir Floats in the bath and it's supposedly really cute." Blake explained as she popped a small handful of popcorn in her mouth.

"Isn't this rather...invasive? I mean, going through her desk was for her own good, but this is..."

"Since when have you been the Moral Police?" Yang mocked as she waved off Weiss' concern.

"Since Blake decided to abandon her post!" Weiss hissed.

"Hey...I didn't abandon my post..." Blake pouted as she sipped at her soda. "I just wanted a small break is all."

"Bullshit. You're never coming back." Weiss snorted as she grabbed a handful of popcorn as well and began to it the handful one piece at a time.

~Ahh! Sir Floats! It has been many a moon since I had last seen your bill! What happens to bring you here, my old friend?~

*Quack!*

~I see! Quite a tale you have there! If this quest brings you to me, then I must assume it is quite the perilous one!~

*Quake, quake*

~Hmmm, then may I suggest we fortify our ships and bring along extra supplies? If we are to face such a horde on those accursed seas, then we shall need to be prepared!~

The three friends fought back giggles as they listened further to the young leader and the responding quacks from the duck. Weiss had to admit, Ruby was rather cute sounding, and that fake, haughty tone she used was just plain adorable.

"I told you it was cute!" Yang hissed through her own laughter as she nudged her friends. "When Dad bought her that ducky, he told her that he was from a far away village just like she was and had many perilous journeys. So, she began making up stories about them exploring the world and saving people."

"That was very clever of your dad to think of that." Blake mused. "Did he get you one as well?"

Yang shook her head. "Nah. Dad really bought Sir Floats because Ruby wouldn't take baths when she was little without me or Dad with her and that's if we could get her in the tub!"

"She doesn't like baths?" Weiss asked, shocked to really hear such a thing.

"I don't." Blake mumbled as she rolled her eyes at the smirking blonde.

"Is that cus-"

"Say it. I dare you." Blake growled as she narrowed her eyes at the chuckling blonde.

"Shut up! I'm trying to listen!" Weiss hissed as she pressed her ear against the door to better listen to the story.

~Is that so? I have not heard of such a place! I'm sure a place such as this is bound to have treasure, hm?~

*Quack!*

~No treasure? Then, what brings us to such a place as that?~

*Quack, quack.. Quack*

~A legend? Of some legendry metal guarded by some ancient dragon? Sounds worth sailing for! Onward!~

Yang drew everyone back, earning her confused looks coming from both Weiss and Blake. "She's 'setting sail', that means she's going to relax for a bit."

"That's adorable." Blake giggled as she finished off her drink and popped open another one. "She'd make a good story teller."

"She learned from the best!" Yang laughed as she pointed to her chest. "I read her so many stories that I'm sure a bit of my talent rubbed off on her."

"That fake accent too?" Weiss snickered as she watched Yang blush and scratch her cheek.

"Well, maybe, yeah. I mean...I had to make her giggle some how!" Yang explained, a bit flustered at the confession.

"How cute. I'd love to see a picture of you two when you were younger." Blake stated as she gave Yang a peck on the cheek. "I'm sure you two were just as cute as a button." The raven haired girl began to pinch the other girl's cheeks, enjoying the whines the other let loose.

~Sir Floats? How many more days at sea must we sail? I do truly miss dry land.~

*Quack. Qua-Quack.*

~I see...another day then...~ A small sigh escaped Ruby's lips. ~If I must confess, my feathered friend, the waters instill a fear in me that makes my blood run thick and cold. I hope land is closer then you say.~

"Ruby's afraid of water?" Weiss asked, shocked to hear such a thing.

"Well, kinda. Being surrounded by ice and snow does that to a kid, I guess. I dunno." Yang shrugged as she tapped her chin. "Falling into water is a serious thing when you're that high up, ya know?"

"That makes sense, I suppose." Blake hummed to herself. "You don't really like water either though, Yang. Any reason for that?"

"You see this gorgeous mane? You know how much work goes into it?" Yang ran her fingers through her hair before lifting it so it could catch the light of the sun and shine for all to see.

"It's a 'mane', alright." Weiss huffed as she smirked. Before Yang could reply, the sound of draining water caught everyone's attention. They all froze before quickly scrambled to clean up their mess and get as far away from the door as possible.

Hiding everything, including themselves, in the closet seemed to be the best they could do.

Ruby sighed happily as she walked out of the bathroom, clad in her big, fluffy, red towel and Sir Floats sitting atop her head. "Ahhh~! What a great tale! The island for another time, eh, Sir Floats?" Ruby lifted her hand and gave the toy a squeeze, earning her a small quack. "Right!"

The girl then placed the toy on her desk before gathering her pjs and padded off back into the bathroom to change. Seeing this as their chance for escape, the three girls in the closet quickly made their way out of the room, opening the front door quietly before stepping outside to noisily walk back in.

"Ru~by~! I'm home! You miss me?!" Yang shouted, her voice carrying a merry tune as she held out her arms wide, ready for the tackling hug the smaller would be greeting her with.

Rushing out of the bathroom, her body still damp and clammy from the hot bath, Ruby tackled her sister in a hug and squeezed her tightly. "Where were you?! I missed you!"

"Got outta class late. Sorry, sis." Yang then pretended to notice Sir Floats on the desk and smirk. "Oh?! What's this? Sir Floats is out and about?"

Ruby gasped as she tried desperately to get out of Yang's hold so she may hide the toy, a blush running from her cheeks to her ears. "Yang! No! Leave Sir Floats alone!"

The older woman walked over to the desk and pointed at the little duck. "Hey, Sir Floats! How ya doing?" she paused, waiting for it to answer back, but gained only silence. "Geez, not much a talker, huh?"

"Yaaaaaang! You promised!" Ruby whined as she hid her face in her sister's neck.

"Alright, alright." Yang chuckled as she let Ruby down, smiling as the girl quickly hid the toy away and dove for her bed, drawing the curtains up so no one could see her. "We didn't see anything, did we, Girls?"

"Not a thing." Blake answered.

"You both need to grow up." Weiss rolled her eyes as she gathered her nightgown and yawned. "I'll be changing for bed if you need me."

Yang just waved her off as she began getting ready for bed herself. Blake, on the other hand, went over to Ruby's bunk and pulled back the curtain a tad to see the smaller girl hiding her face in her pillow. " Ruby?" She heard a small noise come from the other, making her giggle. "How about I read you a story?"

"...With treasure in it?"

"With treasure in it."

A/N: Did someone say a chapter for Sir Floats? XD
