Chapter 18
Gii set his plan in motion. He planned to leave school campus that weekend to find the apartment. He had already gone to the Principle, asked permission to go off campus and even signed the "Request to Leave Campus" sheet. He made sure that every thing were to go smoothly without any problems. Gii arranged for secret service to follow him, through his father's influence and well known name, that Saturday to scope out the rumored apartment complex. Gii was within moments from getting his beloved back into his arms. Of course, Shingyoji begged to tag along but was obviously denied and held back by his boyfriend, Misu. Everyone was desperate to get Takumi back safe and sound.
Gii sat through his first period class, just thinking about what to do when he faces the kidnapper. Will he hit the kidnapper? Would he lose control and kill the man? Or will the kidnapper do something that Gii will regret he ever came looking? So many questions pondered his mind. Onto to his next period, he met up with his best friend and desk mate, Shouzou. The head of the disciplinary committee could see the worried look on his friend's face as he walked towards the desk. Gii greeted his friend with a slight nod of the head and Shouzou sat down. Gii then went back to his worrisome thoughts. Finally when Shouzou spoke did Gii break out of his thinking trance:
"What are you thinking about so deeply that you could forget about paying attention in class?"
"Well... If you must ask-"
"Hayama again?" Interrupted Shouzou.
"Can't hide anything from you, can I? But yes... It is about Takumi. I'm worried that something might happen to my plan..." Said Gii. "What if it fails and the cost is Takumi's life?"
"Gii, calm down. That won't happen. I sat through with you when we created this plan. We made sure to be prepared should anything happen, remember?" Assured Shouzou.
"That's true... But I'm still really worried...! No matter how many times I tell myself that it will be fine, I just can't..."
"It's understandable, Gii. This has never happened to us before... The worst we have dealt with was the bullying that Hayama endured all those years. We have never felt what it was like for one of our friends to get kidnapped. You worrying is something normal. Then again, you worry about Hayama no matter where you go." Stated Shouzou.
"I can't help it... Half the school hates him just because he knows me. I have to be in guard all the time," said Gii.
"That's true. It's hard being the most popular guy in school, huh? I worry about Hayama all the time, having to be with someone with such a huge name like you, boy it must be hard," teased Shouzou.
"Very funny, Shouzou. But I'm serious... I just can't stop worrying..." Said Gii.
"Look, we still have some time before you leave. Why not just calm down and we can take a look at the plan later tonight, alright?" Said Shouzou.
"Thanks..." Gii said with some withdrawal from his voice.
Takumi POV
After his attempt of breaking free, Takumi was put under strict surveillance. Not only that, but when Nishiki dragged Takumi back to the appartment, he beat Takumi and threatened to kill him the next time he tried to escape. Takumi had bruises on his back and on his check from getting a had slap across his face. Nishiki was furious and did not go easy on the poor Takumi. After nearly beating the boy to death, Nishiki dragged Takumi back to his hocking room and chained him up. This time, Nishiki refused to let the boy be comfortable and chained him to the ceiling.
Not only was Nishiki angry but he was also growing impatient with Gii. He started to believe that Gii didn't care and was cold hearted like his father. Nishiki decided that the only to get Gii to give him what he wants, Nishiki would have to show Gii pictures of Takumi. He has been constantly sending pictures of Takumi the past few weeks but now he had to get Gii to budge and break, to feel sadness and pain like he felt.
That night, while Takumi was still chained up and tired from the beatings that he got, Nishiki walked into the room and began taking pictures of Takumi's state. Afterwards, Nishiki pulled out a video camera and started to record Takumi. As he started to record, Nishiki started kicking Takumi lightly to get him to move or make a sound. Takumi mumbled and started groaning in pain. Nishiki then grabbed Takumi's chin so he would be faced up and started moving the camera around to record Takumi's current state. He moved the camera back and then gave Takumi another hard slap across the face. After giving a laugh, Nishiki turned off the camera and left the room, leaving Takumi to suffer through the pain. Tears ran down his face.
Takumi has been locked up for days up to weeks and Gii has yet to come to his rescue. He started to lose hope, not only in his chances of escaping but also in Gii. No matter how much he told himself not to give up, there was no helping it. He has been locked in a dark room with little food, little water and barely able to sleep. The only thing that kept Takumi alive was the thought of Gii coming to his rescue one day, busting through that door and going to embrace him. He longed for Gii's touch.
"Gii... Why haven't you come to save me... Help me... Please... Do you. Of care anymore...?" Cried Takumi.
Meanwhile, down stairs, Nishiki started to upload the video and pictures, printing the pictures and burning the video to a CD. Then he took the usual yellow envelope and put the pictures and CD into it. After writing a brief letter, Nishiki sealed the envelope and wrote the address of Shidou. He went down to the mail room and put the package into the outbox. Within days, Nishiki was looking forward to Gii's next action.
Normal POV
After long hours of classes, Gii was finally free. He took his glasses off his face, rubbed his nose bridge and then gave a long sigh. After grabbing his books and getting up to leave, Gii realized that he didn't check his mailbox due to his busy school schedule and planning the rescue mission. Gii rushed to the mail room and opened his mail box. He opened this wooden drawer to see four small tickets. Those tickets told him he had large packages to pick up. Grabbing the tickets, Gii walked to the mail office to grab the packages. His eyes grew wide in shock as he saw four yellow envelopes being brought to him. While signing for the packages, the mail man came into school. He gave the mail to the office and left. The mail office man started to sort out the letters. The man then found another yellow envelope addressed to Gii. The handsome upperclassman was about to take his leave, with packages in hand, when the postman called:
"Saki-kun! Wait! There's another package for you."
"Eh? Another one for me?" Gii asked.
"Yes, another one. You sure are getting a lot of them these days! You got yourself a girlfriend out side of school there?" The postman teased.
"No, if only, sir... If only," laughed Gii.
"Well, you being all popular and all, you have so many admirers so that's not surprising. Here you have to sign it out again," the postman said as he handed Gii the sign out form.
Gii signed the form, bid the postman goodbye and went back to his room. His heart was racing to see the contents of the envelope. He knew by the previous yellow envelope that it was sent by the kidnapper. After unlocking the door and locking it after he went in, Gii dropped the envelopes down on his small coffee table and went to change his clothes. The night was a Thursday night and whatever was in those packages, Gii knew that they could make it his drive to take Takumi back.
After changing his clothes, Gii grabbed his laptop and sat down at his small coffee table. He opened the letter that was dated the latest, from a few weeks ago. He opened the envelop flap and took the contents out. Same as the first package, there were photos, a CD and a piece of paper with writing. The letter wrote:
"Saki Giichi, are you enjoying your time without Hayama-kun? He's being a very good boy right now. He hasn't said much it but that he really misses you. Shouldn't you be coming to save him? Have you seen the video yet? How about the pictures? Does it bother you that he's looking like this? Well don't worry, I'll take REALLY good care of him. But until you find out what I want and where I am, I'll be holding on to him. Better hurry..."
Gii put the note down and looked at the pictures. There were more horrific pictures, bribing Gii to hurry and save Takumi. He opened the first four old envelopes filled with nothing but taunting pictures, letters and CDs. He finally moved onto the last envelope he had received... the newest and current one. Gii's heart raced in nervousness for he did not know what could the kidnapper had put into the envelope. Were they just going to be pictures of Takumi just sitting there? Could there be something else? Those questions popped in and out of Gii's mind constantly as he reached for the envelope, took off the string loops and opened the flap. He first pulled out the letter and started to read it. However, this letter read differently than the others, the tone was filled with anger and annoyance. The letter read:
"Saki-kun, I'm losing my patience with you. You haven't seem to make one damn move since this whole thing started. I'm beginning to wonder if you really do care about Hayama-kun. Oh, also the boy pulled a nasty stunt just recently, he slipped my watch just as the place was unlocked for a second. He's a clever one but I do have to admit I underestimated the lad a little. But rest assured, he won't be going anywhere from now on. I've got a strict watch on him now. But you see, people are starting to get suspicious after that whole act of Hayama-kun's. So here's my last warning, either you find out what it is I want or I will do something that you will regret deeply."
"What you want?!" Gii whispers angrily to himself.
Gii looks at the letter again, scanning over any hints as to what the kidnapper meant. However, seeing that he got nowhere, Gii began to get frustrated even more. His anger boiled inside and his desire to get his beloved back in his arms grew stronger by the minute. The anger he felt caused him to scrunch up the letter and in a fit of rage, Gii threw the letter with force on the ground yelling: "What the hell is it that you want! Damn it!"
Gii walked away from his spot, paced around the room trying to compose himself so he doesn't break anything or cause a ruckus to wake the other students. After pacing around for a good two minutes, Gii finally worked up the courage to see whatever was left in the envelope. The usual popped up: a small pile of pictures and a disk with more images of Takumi on it, which Gii did not have the heart to watch for when he saw the pictures, they were enough.
After looking through the photos, the stressed upperclassmen dropped the pile on his coffee table and walked over to his bed. He slumped down on the edge of the bed and stared out into the window, looking at the clear night sky as the moon peeked through his curtains. He let out a sigh as he fell backwards onto his bed, changing his view from the window to the plain white ceiling. Without noticing the time, Gii saw that it was time for him to get some shut eye before another day at school. Even though every fiber in his body told him to stay up and investigate, Gii knew his body could not take anymore heartbreak. So without even thinking too much, Gii freshened up and get ready for bed. However, once he managed to get himself in bed, the blonde haired boy could not sleep for ominous thoughts circled in his mind. He questioned himself over and over again; why did this happen? What could've been done to prevent it?
It's all my fault...!
Once again, Gii found himself staring at the ceiling, dark but still white as the moon light shone through. Finding himself weak, Gii was disgusted in himself. More and more thoughts circled his mind.
It's all my fault...!
As he stared on at the ceiling, Gii began to think that his mind has started to play tricks on him. He started to see Takumi's face, a warm and bright smile painted on his lover's beautiful face, A face that Gii so long desired to see, to grab ahold of and to protect. That beautiful face soon turned to a sad and wounded face, a face that Gii did not plan to see. His beloved had changed and there he stood, in front of Gii; like an image of the photos had come to life. The same dark room, the same Takumi, dangling from chains. Gii could not believe what he was seeing; his beloved, with his head faced down, finally looked up and met with Gii's eyes. Takumi's eyes showed no sign of life, the eyes on which the doors to the soul. The doorway showed a dark and empty room. Takumi stared at Gii blankly and started to talk:
"This is all your fault...Gii... If I had never gotten involved with you... I would never be dangling here... I would never had been bullied, kidnapped and beaten... And yet here I am...being held prisoner to another one of your damn problems! ...Why...? Why did you have to fall in love with me...? I was already tortured enough... why did you have to drag me back into the fire...?! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT GII! You ruined me...! You've made me miserable...I've learned to hold on because of my love for you...but now...this...? My love for you...it is NOTHING! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! I-"
Suddenly a loud ringing noise was heard, the sound echoed throughout the room in an almost annoying matter. Gii's eyes fluttered opened as he saw his true surroundings; he was in his room, on his bed and it was morning. He turned his head to the right to see his clock on the nightstand. The time read 6:30 and it was time for him to get up and get ready for his duties as dorm head. Gii groaned and slammed the snooze button on his alarm. The upperclassmen got out of bed slowly, trying to remember what he was dreaming about. Gii got dressed and headed down to the cafeteria as fast as he could. He wanted to get out of his room so he could think.
Upon arriving at the cafeteria, Gii ran into Misu, his "not-so-much" friend and rival, who also woke up early to attend to his student council business. MIsu and Gii both grabbed a table and sat down to eat their breakfast, however, the memory of Gii's dream was distracting Gii from his meal. Misu, being the observant person that he was, noticed this and began to ask.
"What? The food here not meeting up to your high standards anymore, Saki?"
"...huh? What..? Oh, the food, it's fine," said Gii, rather distracted.
"Saki, you've barley touched for food and you've been a little off since I saw you and it's only 7:30 in the morning. What's wrong with you?" Asked Misu, soundly a little more concern than usual.
"It's nothing... I've just been staying up a littler later these days, that's all," Said Gii.
"Look, though you are not my favorite person in the world, you are in my social group of acquaintances and I can see that you staying up late is not the only thing that is bugging you. I understand this whole thing with Hayama being missing is yanking your chain a little but you of all people should be strong enough so you can get him back." Said Misu. "What's going on?"
WIth a sigh, Gii put down his chopsticks and he began to explain:
"You know that ever since this started, I've been getting envelopes in the mail, right? The envelopes with a letter, pictures and a video copy of Takumi. I've been getting them recently, still, and the letters are becoming more and more demanding... saying that if I don't bring this guy what he wants, something terrible is going to happen to Takumi."
"Isn't that the case with all kidnappers? They always ask something as a bargain in exchange for the person," said Misu.
"But that's the thing! I don't know what he wants! He hasn't given me any damn hints as to what it is and I'm running out of time...! The last envelope I received just came in the mail yesterday...! The images...they have become more graphic..." Said Gii as he clenched his fists in anger.
"Okay, hold on there...you mean graphic as that way graphic or something else..?" Misu asked cautiously.
"No... I meant Takumi was physically hurt this time...! Remember when those underclassmen told us they saw Takumi in the streets of the town down the mountain from Shidou? I got that envelope the day after that incident...! The kidnapper...he must've punished Takumi and now he's punishing me...!" Said Gii.
"Saki, calm down. I think we should- Damn it...the bell is about to ring, I have to leave for my duties and I think you do too. Look we need to gather everyone and talk. You said you were initiating the plan on Saturday, right? Well that day is tomorrow! Lets talk about this tonight, in my dorm room and come with Akaike." said Misu.
And with that the Student Council President took his plater and left. Gii sat there for a moment pondering his thoughts and then stood up to leave. Tonight was the last night he had to himself, the last night Takumi would remain a hostage because Gii was going to find him and bring him home.
With self motivation and anger bottled up inside, Gii is ready to explode and take back his beloved. Will there be bumps on the road again? What else is there to talk about tonight about Gii's rescue plan? Find out next chapter!
