Hey y'all! Yes I am alive! The reason I haven't been able to update is because I just got into college and of course being a Freshmen in College is crazy and the work load is SO MUCH! But I shouldn't be complaining as it is going to get worse... Please don't hate me, I didn't mean to leave this off for such a long time but I've had some writer's block and college. Enough of my ramblings, lets get on with the story.
A/N: I do not own Takumi-kun Series or it's characters. I only own my OC's and the plot. This is a yaoi fanfiction as many can see so if you don't like, don't read and please don't leave negative comments just because you didn't like it. That would be much appreciated. Thank you and enjoy!
Chapter 20
The sound of loud footsteps echoed through the halls as the boys paraded through to get to the school's infirmary. THe students crowded together and threw questioning looks and whispers at each other. Seeing Gii's group gathered so early in the morning and walking together was definitely a cause for concern. As they entered the infirmary, many students gathered around the doors, however, one member turned around and closed the door behind them.
In the room painted in white with medicine cabinets positioned on the wall and the beds pushed against the wall, there was a desk placed at the end of the room. There, sat the nurse who was scribbling down notes into her notebook. Upon hearing the door close and footsteps, she called out assuming it was a sick student, without looking up from her notebook:
"Yes, what is wrong? Shouldn't you be getting ready for class?"
"Oh Sensei, I'm not feeling well, would you please treat me?" Joked Misu as he walked into the infirmary.
"That voice... Misu-kun?" Questioned the nurse.
The nurse immediately recognized who it was and looked up from her notes. She saw the group of boys in front of her and the look of terror was shown on her face. She stood up from her desk and backed away towards the medicine cabinet.
"W-what are you boys doing in here? I thought I told you everything you needed to!"
"Not everything, sensei. You see, you gave us very vague information before. Now we know who took Takumi and we know where he's hiding," said Misu.
"What...what did you say?" The nurse stutters.
"Sensei, there is no point in trying to play innocent, we know everything," said Gii with a serious tone. "You've gotten this far but your trail ends here, sensei."
"This is nonsense! I can file this as an assault on a faculty member, you know!" Exclaimed the nurse.
"You can file one, but the things that you are involved with will surely void that. Think carefully of your next move, Sensei," said Misu. "Why don't you just give up? This is getting pointless."
"Mou~ Arata-san," said Shingyoji.
"What? I'm only stating the truth," said Misu.
"You boys... what more do you want from me?! You've already have enough information!" Cried the Nurse.
"Sensei, we want the truth... the motive and the reason! And why you were involved! Takumi did nothing to deserve this! You know, more than anyone, how many times he gets sent here and you know how he is...!" Exclaimed Gii.
The nurse says nothing but her eye contacts breaks with Gii as she looks to the ground. She sits down on her chair and takes a deep breath.
"Nishiki-sama...he helped me...no, he saved me when I was at my lowest point in life. Before I worked here, I was on the streets...I was a living life to the lowest, doing what ever I could to get money; whether it was through labor or selling my body...anything. I was so young...and naive but wanted to survive. That life is just a terrible life to live. But he...he saw something better in me and he helped me. He took me in and did everything to help me get back up on my feet. I even got to go to school, thanks to him! Now you're telling me to rat him out... I can't do that to the one who saved me...!" Said the Nurse.
"Sensei... have you ever thought that maybe he was using you to get to where he is now?" Asked Shouzou.
"W-what? N-no! Of course not! He wouldn't do such a thing!" Cried the nurse.
"Think about it. He took in a person on the streets, did everything but truly he only had one goal and you were part of the plan. If you weren't here today, would he have gotten this far? And if it wasn't you, he could've gotten anyone else like you," said Misu bluntly.
"No... you're lying..."
"It makes sense, doesn't it? You just don't want to believe it. You're just part of the plan and now he got away, leaving you," said Misu.
"Sensei, did he recommend that you should work here?" Asked Toshihisa.
"Y-yes...he did...I just finished medical school. I wanted to move forward but he suggest that I work here, he said that they paid well because all the students here were wealthy...He said that I could be paid even better than a doctor...he..."
"See, told you. Time to open your eyes, sensei," said Misu.
"Impossible...no...Nishiki-sama..." cried the Nurse as tears formed in her eyes.
"Sensei... tell us the reason why he's doing this. It might lower your sentence time," said Shouzou.
"What?" Asked the nurse.
"I regret to say this but... everything you said was recorded," said Shouzou as he pulled out the recording device from his pocket.
"You recorded everything?!" Asked the Nurse in shock and anger.
"Yes, this is part of evidence for us and it's very important," said Gii.
"So let's stop the waterworks and get to the more important information, like motive, for example," said Misu as he leaned against one of the medicine cabinets and crossed his arms.
"Arata-san, please be more considerate," said Shingyoji.
"Yes, tone the attitude down a bit please Misu," said Shouzou as he looked over his shoulder at his friend.
"Yes sir," Misu said sarcastically.
"Arata-san..."
"Nishiki-sama...he...he wanted to do this because of revenge against your father, Saki-kun," stated the nurse.
"I told you," said Misu. "And so did Akaike."
"He knew that you were going to Shidou Academy and that was the easiest way to get to your father. But plans went a little off course. Originally, we were just aiming at you but Hayama-kun started to appear like a better target. I kept seeing how he was being treated and the number of times he came into the infirmary was clear. It made me see even more when I saw the look on your face every time Hayama-kun was admitted. It showed that you cared and I reported that to Nishiki-sama. And immediately, he changed the plan..." said the Nurse. "He thought that by getting Hayama-kun, he'd find a way to get to your father through you, Saki-kun..."
"So, you're meaning to tell me that Takumi was just a part to be used in this sick plan of yours?!" Cried Gii as his anger rose after hearing the story. "You've hurt an innocent person who had NOTHING to do with this!"
"Gii, calm down. We're all angry but getting angry at her won't solve anything. Look, now we have enough evidence to get the warrant and help from the police. We're done here, let's go," said Shouzou as he held Gii back.
"Akaike's right, come on let's go before something else happens," said Misu.
And with that, the boys turned around and left the infirmary. Misu went and opened the door to a crowd of underclassmen crowding around the doorway. With a pissed off expression, he told all the underclassmen to scram and the boys left the infirmary. As they approached the school's entrance, there were two black SUV cars parked. Gii had arranged for cars to pick them up and drive them down to the city and with permission from the principle, they were able to leave without a problem.
Back in the infirmary, the nurse was still in shock but due to her loyal nature, she had to warn the man who gave her a better life, or what was left of that better life. She picked up her cell phone and dialed and the other line picked up.
"Nishiki-sama..."
Meanwhile, the boys had reached the police station. In the police station, Gii went and spoke to the chief and told them their situation. After listening to their story, the chief stood up and told them to wait while they process the evidence and getting a warrant.
"We're so close... please don't give us another set back...!" Pleaded Toshihisa.
"Well don't go a jinx!" Said Misu.
"Sorry..." said Toshihisa.
After waiting for a while, the police came back with good news. He told the boys that he has got the 'okay' from the D.A. that they can go get Nishiki, even without a search warrent. Nishiki had proven to be a greater suspect and needed to be apprehended. And with that, everything was working out like Gii had wanted.
The police went to the office and started to brief the department of the situation:
"Alright officers, listen up. We have a suspect by the name of Nishiki Rei. 40 years old, japanese, 176cm tall, black hair. He's suspected, well more like confirmed as the one who kidnapped the 18 year old student, Hayama Takumi from Shidou Academy from the hospital. Hayama Takumi was admitted to the hospital a few weeks ago but was kidnapped from his hospital room. We know that he is currently located in the city and in fact in the new apartment complex up the street from here. Our plan is to go in smoothly and quickly and apprehend him without any problems. However, I've just recently learned that he is armed with weapons. I don't know what kind but assuming it's his house so there can be a range of weaponry so be prepared. We are going to drive down there and go into the building. We've gotten permission from higher ups saying that we can and do not need a search warrant. Now be careful because the student could be in the house so don't fire unnecessarily, we don't need any causalities. Understood?"
"Yes, sir!" Cried the officers.
"Alright, let's move out!" Said the chief as he turned around the face the group of Shidou boys. "You boys stay here, we can't have civilians coming along on this rescue operation, you all could get hurt. And with your backgrounds, with your parents suing us, we'll all lose our jobs. So stay here and wait until we get back, got it?"
"With all due respect sir, but Hayama-kun is our dear friend and we can't just sit around here," stated Shouzou.
"Boys, I understand that you are concern about your friend, but I cannot allow civilians to tag along, let alone high schoolers," stated the Chief.
"Sir, Ta- I mean, Hayama-kun was caught in this situation because of me...My family..." said Gii.
"I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, son," questioned the Chief.
"My name is Saki Giichi. My father is Saki Ryuunosuke, owner of Saki Industries. The man that has kidnapped Hayama-kun has a grudge against my father...maybe if I came, I could work out a deal with him," said Gii. "It would save some time for everyone."
"Boy, do you even know what you're saying? If this man has a grudge against your father, your presence there would be even worse for both Hayama-kun and my people. No, I say that you stay here and wait for news from us," said the Chief.
"But sir-"
"No, I am the chief and leader of this operation and if I say you stay here then you stay here, understand?" The Chief said firmly.
Gii knew that he couldn't argue anymore with the chief and agreed to stay put. The officers got ready and one by one left the station and the anticipation, nervousness grew within the pit of Gii's stomach as he sat on the chair waiting. All he wanted was to have his beloved back in his arms, safe and sound, this whole police operation did not go as he planned.
Meanwhile, downtown of the city, Nishiki was walking home from the grocery store when he heard his phone ring. He reached for his phone in his jacket pockets as he shifted the plastic bags around in his hands. Looking at the caller ID, the man rolled his eyes and reluctantly answered the phone.
"What do you want?" He asked annoyingly.
"Nishiki-sama...! They're coming for you! And the boy! You must leave now, or you will be caught!" Screamed the person on the other line.
"Would you calm down and stop screaming in my ear. I can't understand you, slow down and speak clearly," instructed Nishiki.
"Sir... they found out and they're coming for you. They're coming to get the boy back!"
Nishiki froze, eyes widen in shock.
"What the hell?! How did they find out?! What did you say?!" He yelled.
"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry... but...!"
"Enough! You are so useless to me! I should've just let you rot on the streets!" Yelled Nishiki as he hung up the phone.
Suddenly the sound of police sirens could be heard from the down across town. In a panic, Nishiki drops the grocery bags and make a run for the apartment. As soon as he sees the police cars, he runs to the back of the apartment to take the back entrance. Quickly, Nishiki pulls out his apartment card and scans it at the back door to unlock it and then he races towards the elevators. He pressed the buttons roughly and looks to see that the elevators were both on floors much too high for him to wait. He presses and presses the elevator button harder in hopes that the elevator will speed up.
"Come on! Come on! Shit!" He cursed under his breath.
Because of the long wait and the risk of getting caught, Nishiki abandoned the thought of using the elevator and ran up the stairs, even though he lived pretty high up. With adrenaline pumping through his body, all he could think about was getting out of the building, not getting caught and running away to hide until he can think of a better plan. As he made his way up the stairs, the police arrived at the building. With sirens wailing through the streets, every head turned in confusion and curiosity. A crowd started to form around the apartment complex. Many officers stayed and held off the crowd from entering the builidng. Many residents demanded to go to their homes but once told of the situation, they backed off. The police rush out of the cars and stormed the building. The Chief of police head to the concierge and yells:
"You! I need you to tell me which floor Nishiki Rei is living on, immediately!."
"I'm sorry, sir but I am not allow to give away information about the residents of this building. That would violate the building's and residents' privacy policy and agreement," said the small woman behind the desk. "Unless you have a search warrant, I am afraid I cannot help you."
"Look, lady, this is a matter of life and death here. That man is holding a 18 year old boy hostage up there. He is critically hurt and his life is in danger. Now you tell me where he lives or so help me GOD, I will arrest all of you! Got it?!" Yelled the Chief.
"Y-yes sir! Right away!" Cried the frightened woman as she searched through the building's database.
"Alright, at the mean time, I need officers guarding the entrances and exits of this building. I want to make sure that psycho does not leave this building! Go!" Commands the chief.
"Yes Sir!" Cried the officers.
The groups of officers headed to any entrance and exit they could find of the building and stood on guard.
"Sir, Mr. Nishiki Rei is living on the 7th floor, house number 704," announced the concierge woman.
"Alright, you heard the lady, 7th floor, let's move! I hope you all are ready to train those lazy legs of yours 'cuz we're taking the stairs! Half of you take the stairs, the other half guard the elevators. This man is going to find a way out so keep your eyes open. Move out!" Commanded the Chief.
As the police officers rushed through the building and climbed the stairs, Nishiki was already on his floor and rushing into his house. Running into the house, Nishiki runs to the room where Takumi was held and quickly unlocks the teen from his chains. Then he pulled the limp and weak teen out of the building towards the elevators. But then he realizes that the cops could be guarding the elevators, he thought of taking the stairs. Suddenly, the loud sounds of footsteps and yelling came from the stairs and Nishiki was trapped, or so he thought. He looked around and then at the corner of his eye, he saw an emergency fire escape stair case area. He knew the residents of the building are forbidden from using that escape route unless there was an emergency. With a grin on his face, Nishiki headed for the emergency door, after all, this was sort of an emergency.
"Is...isn't it time...to give up, Nishiki-san?" Asked Takumi.
"No...I won't go down like this!" Yelled Nishiki. "Just shut up and follow me. I know a way that the cops don't know about!"
Nishiki drags Takumi down the stairs and Takumi was too weak to resist and just limped along down the stairs. Nishiki was heading towards the garage area of the building because once they got to his car, they could escape.
At that time, the police finally reach the ninth floor and found apartment 904. They break in but unfortunately for them, the place was empty, furniture was still there but no signs of people.
"Sir, the place is empty. There's no one here. He must've found out about the raid and made a run for it...with the boy," said one of the officers.
"Shit...! Alright, everyone listen up, I need a squad to stay here just in case he decide to come back while the others search the building. He could've gone anywhere, this building is still rather empty. I'm going to head down and check the CCTV cameras to see where he went," said the Chief.
"Yes sir!"
As the chief of police head down to the lobby, he calls his officers to check on the CCTV tapes and find out the location. One police officer goes to the security room to check on the footage and saw that Nishiki was running and dragging Takumi down the emergency exits towards the garage area of the building. He phones in to tell the chief. Through radio contact, the chief tells the officers to the garage area. He tells half to get in the cars and block out the exits and entrance to the garage parking lot.
Meanwhile, Takumi was being pulled towards the parking lot and Nishiki walked to one of the parking spots where his car was parked. After unlocking the car doors, Nishiki shoves Takumi into the car. Then the man ran to get into the driver seat. Looking at his rear view mirrors, he sees no one approaching them so he starts the car and moves out of the parking spot. As he began to speed up and drive out of the parking garage, he is stopped by a squad of police cars blocking the exit. He curses under his breath and reverses the car to find the other exits, only to find each one blocked off by the police. As he backed his car to the wall, the police cars moved in closer from the entrances of the garage parking. Nishiki saw the police step out of their cars and were all armed and behind the doors of their cars, ready to fire at any moment. The Chief of police stood from behind a car door, pulled out a megaphone and said:
"We have you surrounded. Come out with your hands above your head! We will open fire if you resist! Release the boy!"
Nishiki thought to himself: "No! I can't! I can't lose everything that I have worked so hard to achieve!"
Without thinking, Nishiki grabbed Takumi and pulled him by the collar of his shirt, bend over and opened Takumi's door. As the door opened, the sounds of guns clicking echoed the garage floor. Nishiki froze for a moment to think about his next approach. Instead of walking out, he yells out to the police:
"I want to speak to Saki Giichi! Now!"
"He's not with us right now. Just step out of the car and release the kid. Then you can speak to Saki Giichi!" Demanded the Chief.
"No! Get me Saki Giichi or the kid dies!" Threatened Nishiki.
"W-wait...n-no...!" Cried Takumi.
"Nishiki Rei! Don't do anything unnecessary! Just let the kid go!" Demanded the Chief.
"I already told you! Get me Saki Giichi or the kid dies! No more negotiations!" Yelled Nishiki.
Not wanting to risk Takumi's life, the Chief used to radio to call an officer stationed at the police headquarters:
"Come in headquarters."
"Yes sir, this is Headquarters, sir."
"We have the suspect in view and currently at a stand off. He's demanding to see Saki Giichi. Is he still there at the station?" Asked the Chief to the radio.
"Yes sir, Saki Giichi and his friends are all still here. What is your plan of action, sir?"
"I'm going to need you to bring him here. Now! Get him protective gear as well, we can't risk anymore than what's already at stake, got it?"
"Yes sir. I will have Saki Giichi-kun brought to you immediately," said the officer on the receiving end of the radio.
With that the Chief gave the news to Nishiki through the megaphone:
"Nishiki Rei, we are having Saki Giichi brought here to you, now release the boy."
"Not until I see him!" Yelled Nishiki from his car.
"God damn it this man is persistent!" The Chief cursed under the megaphone.
Meanwhile, back at the police station, the officer on the radio left his office to go see the group of boys and informed them of the situation. He told them that they have found Nishiki and Takumi, however, everything is at a stand off, Nishiki still has Takumi as a hostage and is demanding to see Gii or else Takumi will be hurt, badly. First there was a look a relief on the boys' face, but soon those looks turned into concerned and shocked expressions. Everyone then turned to look at Gii, the person who held the most concerned expression out of all of them.
"The chief has ordered me to take you there. Now if you would please come this way so I can equip you with protective gear," explained the officer.
"P-protective gear? Why would he need that sir?" Asked Shingyoji.
"I am not at liberty to say, I am under orders to do so and he is a civilian, we can't afford for him to get hurt...literally can't afford it," said the officer. "But, we think that he is armed so we need to be safe about this."
"Armed?!" Cried Toshihisa.
"Look, we don't have time for this, Saki-kun, please," said the officer as he directed Gii to the gear room.
"Y-yes sir," said Gii as he followed the officer until someone grabs his forearm.
He turns around and sees that it was Shouzou.
"Be safe and bring him back," said Shouzou.
"I will," said Gii with fiery determination in his eyes.
After the officer put on a bullet proof vest on Gii, they set off towards the apartment complex building. While he sat in the police cars, he couldn't help but let bad thoughts come to his mind. He thought of what he would do if Takumi was killed today, what he would do if Takumi was truly gone because of him and he started to feel terrfied. When the car suddenly hits a pot hole, Gii snapped back into reality.
"What am I thinking? This is not the time to think negative thoughts like this! I need to be strong in order to rescue Takumi! I can't do this to myself, Takumi wouldn't want this. Takumi! I'm coming!" Gii thought to himself.
They finally reach the parking garage and all Gii could see was a lot of police vehicles blocking the exits and entrance to the parking garage. The officer tells Gii to get out of the car and walk carefully to the Chief. After nodding in agreement, Gii carefully and slowly opens the car door and makes his way to the Chief. From past the chief, Gii could see a silver small Mercedes car in the center with windows quite tinted. He couldn't make out the features of the people in the car but within his heart, he knew that Takumi was right there, he is so close. The young police officer walked to the chief, tapped his shoulder and said:
"Chief, we're here," said the young police officer.
"Finally you're here! What took you so long?!" Cried the Chief but still in a hushed tone. He then turned around and spoke into the megaphone. "Nishiki Rei-san, Saki Giichi-kun has arrived. Now would you please release the boy?"
Upon hearing the name of his lover, Takumi opened his tired eyes wide and muttered in surprise:
"...G-Gii?!"
"Nishiki Rei-san, please come out with your hands up and release the boy, we've done what you want. Please cooperate with us, we don't want to hurt you," exclaimed the Chief.
Seeing that the police did do what he had wanted and that there was no other way out, Nishiki pushed Takumi out and he climbed over the seats. As he got out of the car, he grabbed a knife from the front glove compartment and held it firmly in his hand. Takumi was pushed out of the car, tired, exhausted and scared first, with Nishiki still firmly holding onto his collar. Gii finally saw the glimpse of his lover, and oh how white as a sheet he was from fear and exhaustion. Gii wanted to run forward and beat the crap out of the kidnapper but that idea was crushed as soon as he saw the kidnapper step out and held a sharp knife to Takumi's neck.
Upon seeing the knife to Takumi's neck, the police reacted by clicking their rifles, preparing to shoot. Gii could hear many guns being loaded and cocked ready to fire. His heart raced at the sound.
"Oh no! What if they shot and hit Takumi by accident, thought Gii.
"Nishiki Rei-san, there is no need for the knife, we won't shoot unless you do something unnecessary, please lower your weapon," said the Chief as he tried to calm the man.
"Saki Giichi! Call Saki Ryuunosuke! I demand to speak to him!" Yelled Nishiki from across the parking garage.
"Why?! This has nothing to do with him right now! Please just release Takumi!" Begged Gii.
"Let me talk to your father or I won't show anymore mercy on your friend!" Warned Nishiki as he rests the knife's blade on the brunet's neck skin near his throat.
The cold sensation of the blade caused Takumi to jerk in shocking then causing a small cut to form on the skin. Takumi gasps in pain and shock causing Gii to flinch and the rest of the officers to point their gun higher. However, with Takumi as a shield for himself, Nishiki knew that they would not fire. He had the upper hand now.
"Call Saki Ryuunosuke!" Yelled Nishiki.
The Chief turned and looked at Gii. Then a voice was heard, a faint and weak but still audible voice coming from Nishiki's side:
"Gii...! Do it! Please... Call your father...! Gah...!"
"Takumi..."
"That's right, listen to your friend and call your father, do as the psycho says. You can still save your friend," said the Chief.
Gii looked at Takumi and then reluctantly took out his phone and dialed to his father, luckily the man picked up.
"Father, it's me, Giichi. I'm in a bit of situation..."
"What is it? Oh right, your friend's kidnaping situation. How's that coming along?" His father asks.
"Well, you see father, we've got him right here but the kidnaper... Nishiki Rei would like to speak to you," said Gii in the most calm tone he could muster.
"Talk? With me? What ever in the hell for?" His father asks.
"I'm pretty sure it has something to with his family," said Gii.
"Ah I see," said Gii's father.
"Father, I need you to cooperate, Takumi's life is on the lines here, please," begged Gii.
"Alright, I'll see what I can do," said Gii's father, "Put me on speaker phone, I'll talk to him."
"Alright, father, you're on speaker phone," said Gii as he pressed the speaker phone button. "Nishiki-san, my f-father is on the phone. You can talk to him now."
"Hello Rei," said Gii's father on the other line. "What on earth are you doing? Taking a young high school boy as hostage? I know you're better than that." said Gii's father.
"SHUT UP! What do you know?! YOU FIRED ME!" Yelled Nishiki.
"Yes, well at the time we had to, budget and things, you know this," said Saki Senior.
"Sir, if I could be as so bold in intergect but...um... now is really not a good time to agitate the kidnaper. Especially if he as a knife to the kid's neck," interrupted the Chief.
"Yes I understand. Alright Nisihiki, What is that you want from me, so badly that you had to pull this stunt?" Asked Gii's father.
"I want you to admit it! Admit and confess that it was YOU who killed my family!" Yelled Nishiki.
"What? That's it? You want me to confess on something I didn't do?" said Gii's father.
"You're still denying it! You hit my wife and my son with your car and killed them!" Yelled Nishiki. "I saw you! That night when I came...came to collect their bodies...you were there!"
"I was there, yes, I will admit to that, however, I did not kill your family. Please calm down," said Gii's father. "I was just at the scene when it happened. I saw who hit them and was merely giving the police my statement of what I saw."
"LIES! YOU'RE ALL LIERS!" Yelled Nishiki. "That's it! I'm sick of this! I'M SICK OF ALL OF YOU!"
With anger in his voice and eyes, Nishiki rose the knife and was ready to stab the brunet teen in front of him. Seeing his raised hand motion, the police began to go in position to shoot but Gii was one step ahead. With the adrenaline in his mind, Gii grabbed the Chief's gun and aimed for Nishiki's hand. He made the shot and Nishiki drops the knife that he raised above his head and falls to the ground clutching his hand in pain. With the man on the ground, the police run over to apprehend him. At the same time, Takumi, who was held captive all this time, was finally free. The brunet teen, who was so weak, fell towards the ground, headed straight for the concrete floor because his weak body could no longer support him, until someone caught him.
With the remaining of his strength, he opened his eyes to see who had caught him and it was Gii. He had rushed past the police to go to his lover. Takumi let a relief smile appear on his face before drifting off unconsciously. The ambulance was then called and Takumi was rushed to the hospital. Without wasting another minute, Gii hopped into the ambulance with Takumi and rode to the hospital with him. During the ride there, Gii refused to let go of his beloved's hand, fearing that he might disappear again.
"Finally...! Finally I've got you back Takumi," thought Gii with relief and tears in his eyes.
The police had apprehended and detained Nishiki. They then went to the Academy to pick up the school Nurse. She was charged as an accomplice. Shouzou and them were notified of the results and they all jumped with joy that Takumi was rescued. They were then told that he has been rushed to the hospital and without delay, they all rushed out the door and drove to the hospital.
At the hospital, they were lead to the room that Takumi was in and saw the teen quietly and peacefully sleeping on the hospital bed with Gii right next to him. Shingyoji bursted into tears of relief while Misu comforted him. Toshihisa had to grab the wall for support due to the shock and relief he felt that brought him to finally slide to the ground. Shouzou was also very relieved and happy. He then walked over to see his best friend grasping Takumi's hand tightly. Shouzou let out a laugh and then placed a hand on Gii's shoulder and said:
"Gii, if you hold his hands any tighter, they're going to fall off. It's okay, he's back, you did it. Relax."
"...no... If I let go, he might disappear again... I can't let go," said Gii.
"Gii, it's okay. He's safe now. He's back," assured Shouzou as he shook Gii's shoulder lightly.
"I can't lose him again. Not again," said Gii as he kissed his beloved's hand.
"Alright then, we'll leave you guys for a bit, alright? We're going to head back to Shidou. You should too, soon. We all need the rest," said Shouzou.
"I'll stay with him until he wakes up," said Gii.
"Gii, we don't know how long that will be. Come back to Shidou with us. You need to rest. It's been a rough day," advised Shouzou.
"No, the last time I left him alone in the hospital, he was kidnapped, I'm not doing that again," said Gii.
"...*sigh* alright then, suit yourself, I know I can't convince you otherwise. But I'm coming back to pick you up tomorrow, alright?" Asked Shouzou. "While you're gone back to Shidou, one of us will be here to watch him, okay?"
"...alright," said Gii.
With that, the boys left the hospital, leaving Gii alone with Takumi in the hospital room. Gii looked at his lover's face and stroked it gently. He still couldn't believe that Takumi was finally back and right in front of him. He saw how pale Takumi had become and how thin and weak he was.
"Oh Takumi...you're so pale...You resisted him so well, haven't you?" Said Gii. "Thank you... thank you for coming back to me. Thanking for coming back to me...alive."
Gii said those words with such heavy emotions, the emotions that he's kept bottled up since the beginning of the incident till now, they were able to escape. He could to nothing but let them flow out, along with his tears. The grief, guilt and pain he's felt, now they were able to settle and slowly leave.
Suddenly, within his grasps, Gii felt movement from Takumi's hand. He quickly looked up and saw Takumi slowly open his eyes. Gii gasps in shock and stood up from his seat and leaned on the side on the bed. Takumi's eyes open slowly, then he blinks a couple of times, slowly but surely he was beginning to recognize where he was. He turned his head and makes eye contact with his beloved. At first his visions is a bit blurry but soon focuses as he sees the outlines of his lovers features. A smile forms on Takumi's chapped and pale lips and he opens them to speak:
"...Gii..."
Upon hearing his name, Gii couldn't help but smile, hearing that sweet voice call out his name again. It feels like it's been forever since he's heard that voice to Takumi, the ring of his voice as he called out to Gii.
"Oh Takumi!" Cried Gii as he bent over and gave Takumi a hug. "I though I'd never see you again!"
"...Gii..."
"I thought I lost you! Oh my Takumi!" Cried Gii.
"...Gii...Arigatou..." said Takumi, his voice dry but sweet.
"Eh?" Said Gii as he got up from the hug and looked at his lover.
"Arigatou...for saving me..." said Takumi with a smile.
"Takumi..."
"I...I love you," said Takumi.
"I love you, too. Oh so much!" Said Gii as he bent down and kissed his lover's lips, a bittersweet kiss that was long overdue.
"...Gii...what happened...to Nishiki-san...?" Asked Takumi.
"Nishiki-san and Sensei were arrested by the police and are going to serve for their crimes," said Gii. "They deserve it."
"...No...Gii...It was misunderstanding..." said Takumi.
"What? A misunderstanding? What do you mean?" Asked Gii.
"When...you called your father and... he said that he didn't kill Nishiki-san's wife and son, I think that was true..." said Takumi.
"Then...How-"
"Your father said he was just there to...give the police...a statement..of what he saw," explained Takumi. "But at that time...Nishiki was laid off and not thinking right...he put the blame on your father...and because of that, all this time...he's been thinking that your father was the killer..."
"What...? That doesn't make sense... when I saw the employee list, it said that the one who killed his family was my father," said Gii.
"The file must say that because it was either altered or from the police database... but..."
"Takumi, I think I know what you're trying to say. I get it, now you should get some rest," said Gii.
Takumi agreed to end the conversation and sleep. Gii sat there looking at his beloved's face but then he let his mind wander, too.
"Altered records? Could that be it?" He thought. "No. Now's not the time, Takumi is back, I have to take care of him first. Get him better."
With that mindset, Gii was set on being Takumi until he made the complete recovery. The next day, Gii went back to Shidou while Shouzou took his shift in looking after Takumi. The group of friends alternated their time in taking care of Takumi but they left Gii with the longest times. Although they knew of the horrors that happened, Gii and Takumi knew that it was something still too sensitive to talk about, but one day, they will.
At that same time, Nishiki was taken to the police station and interrogated. He then learns the truth about his wife and son's death. It was true that they were killed in a hit and run case, however, Gii's father was there to witness the action. BUt because he was not thinking straight, Nishiki blamed Gii's father. The police came into the school and arrested the school nurse. Many students questioned why there arresting the school nurse. The two were put to court and proven guilty based on substantial evidence provided, even the voice recordings. Nishiki was sentenced to life in prison while the school nurse was sentence to 30 years without parol. And soon, peace was back at Shidou and the group of friends.
After a few week, Takumi recovered from the wounds he had and the malnourishment from when he was kidnapped. He had made the complete recovery and was able to go back to Shidou. Once back at school, he headed started from the dormitories to greet his friends. With Gii by his side, Takumi walked up the steps to his room and dropped off his stuff.
"Ah, it's been a while since I was back in here. It feels good," said Takumi as he faced the window, the sun was high up in the sky, shinning down on the earth.
"Yes it does. Welcome home, Takumi," said Gii with a warm smile on his face.
Upon hearing that, Takumi turned around and looked at his lover, the sun shining behind him and with a smile he says:
"I'm home."
