Author's Note: ... I think I'm just going to update this once every month... because this took FOREVER!
Is that cool?
Cool whip.
Disclaimer (Dark Side of the Moon): If I owned Hetalia, Japan would bottom EVERYONE. (Unless he wanted to top, of course.)
Warning: Contains sick and slightly delusional Kiku. *Got the idea for his weirdness from a Special A episode*
China pinched the bridge of his nose exasperatedly; he had just put his unconscious brother in bed. "Aiyah… Now that Kiku's been taken care of, will someone tell me what EXACTLY happened?"
The Chinese's dark eyes glared at the three people in front of him. Shifting from Russia to America and then to the America-look-alike, he took several deep breathes to keep himself calm. "Well? I don't have all day, aru."
"U-um… Well, after my brother and I got here, he went to get some tea for us… a-and when he came back, he didn't see me in time and fell over…" the America doppelganger stuttered.
"I don't know who you are. Maybe if you tell me your name I'll remember, aru," China said bluntly.
"I-I'm Canada," the nation supplied.
"… Ah, you're that idiot's brother…" China muttered under his breath, "So he just fainted after running into you?"
"Y-yeah… Pretty much…"
"Russia," China turned to the taller man, trying to get his side of the story, "is that true?"
"Da," he answered. "After those two showed up, my friend went to get them some tea. Then he ran into Matvey here and fell over." As an afterthought, the Russian added, "He had a headache during the meeting… maybe he's sick."
"You knew he had a headache?!" China spat, "Then why were you here?"
The taller man shrugged. "I was afraid he was still mad at me for hugging him…" he ducked his head in shame. "I still don't know why he got upset in the first place; he did let me hug him when we were at my house…"
"DUDE! YOU KIDNAPPED HIM! HE WAS PROBABLY FALLING VICTIM TO STOLKHOLM SYNDROME LIKE IN THAT ONE BOOK I READ!" America bellowed before China whacked him on the head.
"What is with you western nations…? Aiyah, even after being told that someone has a headache, you're still yelling…" Yao scolded, "And I don't even want to know what type of 'books' you've been reading with your education system…" he added, using air-quotes on books.
America started to pout. "MY education system is fine! What I want to know is why I'm the one in trouble when he's the one who kidnapped Kiku!"
"Is it because I'm more likable?" Russia suggested.
"No," China deadpanned. He did not want to admit that he helped Russia kidnap Japan in front of the hyper-active Nation. "It's because you, America, owe me money, and that during this utter waste of time, where you could've been working on paying me back… you've done nothing but complain and shout in a sick person's home. For shame."
Now that got to America. "Oh…" he smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. "I-"
"HEY- SOMEONE NEEDS A HERO! ANSWER YOUR DAMN PHONE! I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE IN A MEETING! SOMEONE NEEDS A HERO! ARE YOU JUST GONNA LEAVE THEM HANGIN'?"
America's cell phone burst out into a heroic theme song before repeating the message again.
"ANSWER YOUR PHONE BEFORE IT WAKES UP KIKU!" China whisper-shouted at America, getting angrier at the blonde every passing second.
"Okay, chill out dude," America snapped back, tapping the 'Answer Call' button on his touch screen. "Sup?"
There was a long pause before a rapid stream of angry Spanish poured out of the phone, which just had to be on speaker. After a few seconds, the talking slowed down enough for America to understand that it was a slightly drunk Mexico calling him after… ahem…
"¿Por qué no me amas?" The girl's slurred voice rang out above the background noise.
"Voy a estar ahí en pocos minutos! Te lo prometo!" He quickly responded, blushing at the bluntness in his secret girlfriend's voice.
He ended his call, not looking at any of the other occupants of the room before saying a rushed farewell and sprinting out the door, leaving Russia, China and Canada in an awkward silence.
"… So that's Mexico, aru? I've never heard her speak before…" China stated in a desperate attempt to end the silence- even though he wanted it to be quiet only a few minutes before the American left.
"S-she doesn't like t-talking to people. In her culture, she's not even supposed to look men in the eyes unless she's flirting… so being in a room of male representations is… difficult for her…" Canada said softly. "B-but she's very talkative once you get to know her!"
"Ah…" China nodded in understanding. It can be so hard for some Nations to truly get a say in during the World Conferences. Sensing that Kiku was going to wake up soon, he decided to dismiss the other Nations. "My brother will be waking up soon, aru. Since you are not needed here, please feel free to leave."
Before the other two could say anything, China left the room to make some tea for his brother so it'd be ready whenever he awoke.
"I will help you, da?"
"Ah!" China jumped, not expecting Russia to follow him into the kitchen. "… F-fine, just… don't do anything weird… That reminds me, Japan… well, whenever he gets sick he acts… different than he normally would…"
A loud groan could be heard coming from Japan's bedroom (AN: Get your minds out of the gutter, you perverts.) Russia quirked an eyebrow, "What do you mean by that?" he asked, walking alongside the Asian to the source of the noise.
China avoided his eyes. "… You'll just have to see for yourself."
China slid open the door to his brother's room. The room was very neat and not a speck of dust could be found, Russia noted, lifting his eyes to face the man on the bed. He was wearing different clothing from before; earlier he was in a suit, but now he was in a Yukata of sorts.
"Yao-Yao must've seen the spilt tea on his other clothes and changed him…" For whatever reason, the thought made Russia feel a pang of jealousy. He shook his head, trying to rid himself of his troubling contemplations.
China walked forward slowly, as if prepared to run away at a moment's notice. "Kiku, aru? Are you awake?"
"… Hai, nii-san," Japan slowly opened his eyes, and, to Russia's shock, instead of the usual emotionless, dull orbs, his eyes sparkled with emotion. Russia watched as Japan jumped up from the bed with super-speed and tackled China with a bear-hug.
"Aiyah, Kiku," Yao said, squirming uncomfortably. "I… I need to check on the tea…"
Kiku just hugged him tighter, "Don't leave me, nii-san. Dàgē."
Russia observed the exchange awkwardly, feeling like a third-wheel, or whatever the expression was.
"I'll come back. But, in the meanwhile, Ivan will stay here and keep you company. Got it, aru?"
"Hai." With reluctance Japan let his brother go and walked over to Russia, grabbing the taller Nations arm and holding tight. He then shot a 100 watt smile at his brother as Yao left the room, then turning to face Russia. "Hello again, Ivan-chan!"
Russia smiled at the new honorific. "Hello again, Kiku. How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling slightly drowsy, but it's a good drowsy," the raven-haired Nation gave the taller man another bright smile. "I want to go to sleep. Do you?"
"… What?" Russia froze, uncertain of what he could say to answer that… Then again, it had been a long day and the meeting earlier didn't help the day go by any faster. "Um… Yes."
"Okay, we can sleep together then," Kiku dragged the Russian to his futon with a surprising amount of strength, but Russia shouldn't really be surprised; after all, he did see the smaller man tackle China about two minutes ago.
"The futon's a little small, but we'll still fit if we cuddle."
"Wait, what? Cuddle?" But before the man could protest, the Asian pulled him down onto the aforementioned futon and snuggled up to him, blankets covering them.
Russia tried to get out of bed, but his friend's arms were wrapped around one of his and they didn't look like they were going to let go anytime soon.
"Japan?"
No answer; Kiku had fallen asleep again.
I know... it's not exactly like the weird creepy thingy with the girl from SA (Her name is escaping me...) but, hey, this is Japan, he's different.
