Hello again, everyone. As you can see the next chapter is here^^. But first off i have some notices to tell you. Thanks to certain persons the chapter is earlier than it could be. Well, i wanted to write it even earlier, but things happened and... kept happening... Anyways! If you want to thank somebody for this chapter i recommend doing it for Timeangel93 and dojaz. I also thank them very much!
Timeangel93- I'll answer something you asked me and i already answered, but maybe someone also is interested... I'm not going to focuse on pairing Link and Zelda. I prefer them in friendship, like brother and sister (hope you won't mind)
dojaz- thank you for the follow. Although you haven't favourited/reviewed i hope you like it:)
I think that's it, but i also must say that this chapter consist of things known to Zelda fans and might be seen as a retrospection. But for those who aren't that familiar take it as an explanation of things concerning Zelda franchise. (well, they are from my point of you, but i hope they'll be accepted^.^)
I don't own Legend of Zelda series or the manga, but i own my ideas:)
A week has passed since they enrolled in this peaceful school. Zelda hoped their days would stay like that forever, but despite her wishes, she had this weird and disquieting feeling. She sensed something in the air and willed for someone who would disperse her doubts. For assurance she glanced at the sleeping boy wondering, where Link had gone. It's not like he would go somewhere with someone, because he was rather a quiet and lone person. Even if he was popular thanks to his looks, it was against his will. Zelda just guessed, he wanted a walk to clear his head and have a little time for himself. After all these days were his first time in school, not including what has happened before. Although she also hadn't ever gone to school, she had tutors and lecturers. She didn't know what kind of education he had been provided in the Forest, but doubted its efficiency. Thus his idea to rethink events was current even for herself. She also needed time to think things through and find the right conclusions. She remembered Impa with whom she could always discuss her views on actual events. And she was not only her guardian or tutor, but also a best friend and a mother figure which Zelda greatly needed as she spent most of her life behind castle's walls. She couldn't help being born as a princess, but wanted to change it. But now she wanted to go back to Hyrule and know what was happening there. If the evil was successfully and eventually stopped? She hoped so. She had prophecies about darkness engulfing the land and the boy with a fairy from the Forest who would prevent it. But Link completely changed it visiting her without the Emerald and saying he had already done everything of this and that they both decided this mistake shouldn't be repeated. She didn't remember any of what he had told, but believed him as he was the boy from her dreams. He said he had left the stone in the Forest, because it provided safety to his home. His visit prolonged and they spent some time together, during which Link told her about his adventures. But didn't stay for too long. He left in the middle of night in search of his fairy friend. After that he didn't give any signs of life for few years. He returned just recently in this weird condition and quiet about what had happened. She hasn't pressed him for explanation, because she knew if he wanted to tell her everything, he would do it in his own pace. He only let her know about the land of three day cycle, he had to save. She believed, he had made a good use of her ocarina which she gave him just before he left. She was confused regarding things surrounding him, but knew he was as much confused if not even more. She really wanted to ask somebody for help, for some advice of what to do next. She wished for someone who would give her an explanation or at least steer her into the right direction. She missed Impa as she was that kind of a person.
Suddenly, she jumped up, quickly awake with short breath and anxious look. She spotted the child sleeping and sighed with relief. She didn't even notice when she had fallen asleep. It must have been some strange force to do so. Or maybe... Come to think of it, there was something in her dream. What it was? If only dreams were easier to memorize. However, when she remembered, her blood turned cold. A prophecy. She saw a subtle light being stifled by a vicious darkness. She had suspicions of what one of those represented, but for the other she had no clue. They disposed of Ganondorf few years ago when the Sages sealed him away on Link's request. Was he going to return? If so, how? And how would he find them? He didn't know about Link yet, so why Zelda had a feeling, he was in danger? Maybe the darkness featured something else. Now she got much more worried than she had already been. She felt familiar fear which she hadn't felt for quite a while. The last time it was when Link left for unknown. She pried to Goddesses for help. Even she tried to call for the Sages, but to no avail. Never before felt she so useless and miserable.
She opened her eyes trying to return to reality, and when her sight landed on the child, she smiled. She had to be helpful to Link, she had to get rid of those depressing thoughts. What would he say if he knew about it? And Impa wouldn't be proud of her either. She had to stay calm to support Link and even herself, that was what was important. She reached and gently stroked the little boy's hair. To her anxiety he suddenly winced in his slumber. Was something happening? She thought concerned trying to soothe him with her soft hum. The other chagrin she had was the question if she should tell Link about her prediction and worry him more. She didn't wanted to add him any distress, but knew he had the right to know. She'll wait for him and then see.
A week has passed since Link got into his first ever school. It was definitely different from adventuring, fighting monsters, helping people or saving the world. He was rather enjoying it as everything was new to him and his classmates seemed pretty surprised by that. Maybe he was giving a weird impression, but he haven't even noticed that. Sitting in regular lines confused him just like listening to the teacher and trying to understand what he was saying. For someone, whose priority was world's safety, those things sounded absurdly. And lenghty classes with bored voice didn't help at all in keeping his attention. But he tried to comprehend as much as he possibly could. And, even for anyone's surprise, he still found something that caught his interest. He didn't know yet if he prefered fighting danger, but sitting in one position for half a day was tiresome and he needed excercise.
He stopped in his tracks and looked up at the now darker sky. The sun was setting more slowly than in Hyrule. It wasn't an evening yet, but the stars became visible. He had found a way that led him out of the city's traffic and enjoyed taking it everyday. The town, much larger than the ones he had ever seen, amazed him, but also terrified. He didn't think, he liked it. He prefered to be out of its grasp, closer to nature. He knew, Zelda was used to urban life, so she wouldn't understand opinion of a boy from the forest. It wasn't anything bad, instead, he was glad, she could find herself in this place. Now he was heading to the only place, that resembled nature and looked close to the forest, in the nearest area of they stay house (or something). The residents called it park, whatever that was. It wasn't visited too often, but was neat and well maintainded. He was quite glad of this respect for nature, which wasn't that obvious in the city. However he didn't walk about only for stress relief. He was patrolling the neighbourhood and supervising for any sign of disturbance and abnormity. They both acknowledged this world was free of monsters, so if any appeared it would mean something wrong going on. Zelda assured him there was no reason for them to come here, but he couldn't shake off this weird feeling... Besides if they were sent here for some unknown reason, it would mean that either there was something happening (or going to) or that the evil could also find them- if they are here, why can't evil get here?
He would like to be in his comfortable and easy to move in clothing, but Zelda had warned him, this world was different, so if they wanted to avoid trouble, they had to respect its laws. So after changing from the school uniform, he chose some casual, for this world, clothes. He couldn't understand its tastes or why everything was so stiff. The things he accepted were called tracksuits and T-shirts. At least there were shirts here, to which he was already used. The different type of shoes gave a weird feeling and felt too tight. Also Zelda prohibited him from wearing anything similar to his tunic, reasoning 'it would catch unnecessary attention'. And not to use magic or fight in front of people... Well, he wasn't that stupid to do that, but all these differencies were annoying. And there were even more.
As he delved deeper into the park his thoughts were once again preoccupied with school and things concerning it. His class contained a lot of people, he felt as even more than in the whole Kokiri. Every one of them was somehow different and most was rather friendly, but there were some with tendencies to wish others badly. He assumed, people like that were common in every community regardless of time and space. He hadn't got any problems with them yet, but felt their negative waves. Everybody was different to him, but also he was the one that differed from them, so he was in worse situation as well as often the main topic of conversations. He couldn't help, but to hear whatever they were saying despite how loud they whispered. He tried many things, like decreasing his hearing, but inefficiently. the only thing that remained for him was to think about something else. The most frequent topic he had caught was about his ears, probably because they distinguished the most. Even after questioning him it for numerous of times, they still had their doubts. He had told everyone who asked, that he had them since birthday, so it must have been some sort of genetic trait. A few would eventually believe him, others not and there were some, that had their own theories and speculated about his origins. Several times he learned he was an elf, but then someone would argue that they don't exist. Like he even knew what an elf is... As for now, he had to deny all their crazy ideas they came up with.
The lessons weren't that bad excluding the fact they were long and boring. He could actually learn about this world, its history, how it worked and many other things. He found it rather fascinating that people acknowledged so much facts about surrounding them reality. He was even thankful for Japanese and English, because he could sharpen his literate skills. Or rather he was yet to make them as he had never ever read or written before. In Kokiri Forest everyone knew what was where, so he didn't have the need to learn. And it's not like someone was there to teach a bunch of kids. And while on his quests Navi or Tatl would read everything for him. So now was his time to develop himself. Of course no one in high school taught how to read letters, so he had to do it himself. He paid great attention what someone was saying when reading the texts and also followed it. He also visited a library and found some books and textbooks which helped him. If he couldn't read something, he would always ask, not minding the odd looks he received. English letters were definitely easier and they were much fewer, so he memorized them already. With Japanese he was still confused, but tried his best. He even wanted Zelda to teach him Hylian, but was afraid, she would laugh at him. Theoretically she didn't have to make fun of him, because she knew basics of his life aspects. He was hesistant in spite of knowing it, but didn't know why.
The sky of late afternoon was already almost dark. He decided to head back, but something moved in the corner of his eye. Stopping, he turned his head and readied his hand above the hilt of his well hidden Gilded Sword. He was prepared for battle, but didn't know it would come so soon. He was sure, it wasn't a person, because everyone that he saw (or heard) already left or weren't in this exact place at all. Additionally some monsters didn't make any sounds, and he hadn't heard anything yet. On purpose he made some ruffling noise with his shoes. As if on cue a dark form of a Floormaster soundlessly came to view. On the sight of a giant puce hand, he felt a shot of adrenaline and took out his sword which glinted in the last rays of sun. It jumped at him, but he dodged in time and turned to slash it in half. Just a little too late, because the hand jumped high above him and crashed him to the ground. He tightened a grip on his sword and thrusted it through the monster's palm. It made a screeching sound and after writhing it separated into free smaller forms of itself. They surrounded the hero who was heavily standing up. He was practicing, but to think a little more than a week without fighting would have some effect. Besides the last battle he had was in his younger form... At least the sword was still big enough for him. He eyed the little hands cautiously and held his sword firmly a little behind preparing for their attack. As he thought, all of them launched at him at the same time, so in one quick movement he spun around and cut them one after another. As their halves fell to the ground, they bursted into nothing. He straightened and hid his sword again, after cleaning it's blade. He looked around listening for any other creatures, but there was none. Then he headed to the place from which the monster appeared, but there was nothing in sight. Any sign of magic of some kind or sorts. He assumed that the monsters might just randomly appear in the neighbourhood. He couldn't check the whole world, but knew the monsters were hunting them. So he just had to patrol the close area. It started to soon, he thought as he tried to brush himself off. The soil was dry, but he couldn't avoid having ruffled hair or few scratches. Zelda was going to get worry.
"Link, did something happen?" Zelda asked before she even saw him. But when he stood in the doorway she frowned. "What happened?" she changed the question with a worry written on her face.
"Nothing much. Just a little trouble." he tried to find a right excuse, but surprisingly, he didn't have to.
"You get yourself into trouble with someone, right? Can't you just obey this world's rules?" To his relief she answered herself. He hated lying to her, so he just merely nodded. She eyed him suspiciously, knowing something was off. He sheepishly ran his hand through hair and sat on a chair in front of her.
"You still don't know how to cure this 'matter'?" He asked hesistantly. Zelda knew it was somewhat sensitive case for him. He was confused as to what was happening or if it could be turned back.
"Not yet" She answered to assure him she will know. "I'm still trying to contact other Sages, but didn't get far. I'm afraid this inability confirms the fact, we already suspected. We're in a completely different world. Dimension or realm, I don't even know, but I wonder how and why we get here. But for now, I believe that if you rest you'll get back to your old self. I hope this kind of thing is cured with the flow of time."
"Time, what a treacherous element." Link said gloomily. "But that's a shame. I wonder if we'll ever get back. I really wanted to find Navi."
"I'm sure, we will. Nevertheless we can't stay here forever. That's right, did she reason why she left?" Link looked somewhere else.
"No. Tatl once mentioned that a fairy is a partner til death only for a Kokiri, so since I'm Hylian she couldn't stay by my side."
"I'm sorry to hear that. But you'll see her again, I feel that."
"Thanks." Link smiled to her glad for her comfort.
"By the way, Kokiri is the only tribe Hylians know so little of. To be honest, for us they are rather like a legend, so my father didn't believe my prophecies about the boy from the Forest."
"That explains a lot. But that's reasonable since no Kokiri can leave the Forest and whoever wanders into Woods and gets himself lost, becomes a Stalfos."
"Really, a Stalfos? I heard no one ever came back, but nobody knew why."
"Yeah. I wonder how I survived there. Maybe because of the blessing from the Goddesses or the Great Deku Tree. That brings the question, how did Ganondorf know of the Forest?"
"Maybe heard somewhere... Why would he know?"
"He cursed the Great Deku Tree when he couldn't get the Emerald." Link explained angrily.
"Oh... So much evil, because of that man..."
One day during the first week of the new student in their class, Hayato Kamitani was sitting with Ryuichi in the Daycare Room on their lunch break. Redhead as usual was energetically playing with kids, Usaida sleeping and baseball player absentmindedly watching scenes in front of him. He would rather control what was happening and step in if something was. He was pretty well used to the Club, so when he saw a new kid, he felt like something was off. Their group grew bigger, with a new child there'll be more activities and problems. A new situation meant something different, a sudden change and all of them had to cope with it. Their club seemed like a small sociality in midst of which someone threw a stranger toddler. The Daycare kids quickly grew accustomed to the newcomer, but the person spoken of and also Kamitani didn't. He himself didn't know why it was, but knew it will solve with the help of time. He just didn't like changes.
After second day he noticed the strange similarities between the new kid at Daycare and the transfer in their class. Despite weird behaviours they also looked similar as if they could be brothers (he excluded parent and child option). Although he actually never saw them together. Link was always going on his own and Maju* was picked up by another girl. He saw her once or twice and she also seemed different. But still... He sensed something suspicious, so decided to keep his eyes on them. Even if he didn't intented it so literally, he was too preoccupied with his thoughts to notice that he was staring at the kid. With or without his knowledge, the child was staring back at him. When he came to his senses, gently poked by Kashima, he looked at him questioningly.
That concludes it^.^ an information for you:
*Maju- (i didn't know were to introduce it) this is a name i came up with for the little boy in green (:D). Just didn't think any other fit him too much and it sounded pretty Japanish :) i like it already and you might notice it comes from Majora- yes:) but the full name or just Majo seemed... weird. Hope you like it:p
i know the paragraphs are too long, but I'm used to writing like that. So I'd like you to tell me if you prefer which- long or short paragraphs?
I know, lots of description and boring stuff. A long chapter about nothing... Now, but i can't just jump into action in the second chapter, can i? (though, there was a little... I'm not strong with fighting scenes...)
Thank you very much, and your opinion would be appreciated ^.^
See you next time!
