Hello everyone! A short update for you all :)

Caught out running

With just a little too much to hide

Maybe baby

Everything's gonna turn out fine

Please read the letter

I mailed it to your door

It's crazy how it all turned out

We needed so much more

Too late, too late

A fool could read the signs

Maybe baby

You'd better check between the lines

Please read the letter, I

Wrote it in my sleep

With help and consultation from

The angels of the deep

Juliet walked into the large house and turned on the light switch next to the door. She placed her purse on the table against the wall and placed her shoes in their proper place. Juliet looked around and sighed in relief when she noticed Declan wasn't around. She sat down onto the couch and buried her head in her hands. How could she just kiss him? She was an engaged woman. He had a daughter who meant everything to him. What the hell was she thinking? Juliet sighed again and shook her head. There was no use in worrying about it now, it was over. It wouldn't happen again, yes, she'd make sure of it.

"Hey cutie!" Juliet flinched slightly at Declan's pet name. "How was work?" He sat next to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"It was alright." Juliet said not wanting to continue a conversation with him at the moment; she just wanted to be alone so she could think. However Declan didn't seem to understand her stiff posture as he leaned into her.

"Just alright?" She nodded, "What about the case? How's that going?" Juliet felt slightly bad; he was just trying to be a caring fiancé while she wanted him to get lost after she kissed another man.

"I can't really talk about it, you know that." Juliet stood up.

Declan frowned and followed her into the kitchen, "Well I was a consultant for the department at one time. I'm sure that gives me some of a right to be able to hear about it. Especially if it's coming from my fiancée." He punctuated fiancée and Juliet lost all sympathy she might have had for him, she was just annoyed.

"But you're not anymore; it's against department policy-!" Juliet started but was interrupted by Declan slamming his fist onto the counter.

"To hell with department policy! Ever since Spencer got back into your life you've been distant." Declan shouted.

"This has nothing to do with him! Leave Shawn out of it!" Juliet screamed back.

"Bullshit!" Declan rounded the counter to be face to face with her, "He has everything to do with this and you know it! Don't you dare tell me he has nothing to with this." Juliet shook her head and crossed her arms. "Just tell me what the hell is going on with him and you. Did you sleep with him?"

"No! I didn't sleep with him. He has a daughter." Juliet scoffed.

"I have a son, yet you've had sex with me." Declan was referring to the son he'd had with a one night stand years ago. Shortly after Juliet had left him for Shawn, Declan had slept with a random prostitute and nine months later ended up with a son.

"Speaking of which, keep your voice down. He's upstairs and doesn't need to hear this." Juliet tried to move away but her hand was grabbed by Declan.

"Please Juliet," he sighed, "You mean everything to me. Tell me what I can do to fix whatever happened."

"Dec I promise you, nothing happened. Nothing will ever happen between Shawn and me again." She turned around and placed her hand on his cheek. Declan leaned into her touch and nodded. "I trust you; it's him I worry about."

"He worries about his daughter too much to get close to anyone. From what I've learned he doesn't even have any close friends in fear they might hurt her. He's not willing to risk anything for that little girl, she's all he has." Juliet told him. Declan nodded and wrapped his arms around her in a hug.

"I love you."

"You too." Juliet whispered back hugging him to her.

"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Declan asked looking Juliet in the eye. They were sitting on the couch in Declan's living room. He was dressed in a nice pressed suit and she was wearing a long blue dress. They'd just come back from their fourth successful date and Declan had asked her to be his girlfriend.

"Declan yes," She took his hand into hers, "I'm completely ready for this." She smiled at him.

"But so soon after your breakup with Shawn?"

"That was months ago, I'm over him. I haven't seen or talked to him in months, I'll never see him again." Juliet moved her hand to grip the back of his neck. "I am completely over him, and completely into you." She leaned forward and kissed him sweetly.

"And you're okay with everything? My son…?"

"DJ is a good kid, I've talked to him several times and he's amazing. I want to spend more time getting to know him and the new you." Juliet smiled at him and nuzzled him.

"Thank you." Declan nodded and kissed her.

"Why were you kissing her?" Zuri inched forward and watched her father closely.

"I... I don't know." Shawn sighed and got up slowly, "How many times have I told you to knock?" Zuri shrugged and turned to walk out. "Baby, let's not tell grandma or grandpa about the kiss okay? I don't want them to know." Shawn shifted as Zuri gave him a questing look.

"Do as I say, okay?" Shawn clapped Zuri's back and lifted her up into his arms. Shawn walked back down the stairs and placed her back onto the couch.

"Everything alright Goose?" Maddie appeared and wiped her hands on a towel she was carrying. "Juliet left pretty quickly."

"Daddy and the lady kissed." Zuri said before ducking behind the couch at Shawn's glare.

"You what?!" Maddie shouted in surprise. "Isn't she engaged?"

"You know ma," Shawn scratched his cheek, "It's complicated."

"Oh Goose..." Maddie shook her head.

"Don't give me that look mom, she kissed me." Shawn defended himself.

"Who kissed you?" Henry asked walking in from outside.

"Juliet kissed him when she's engaged." Maddie turned to Henry whose eyebrows rose.

"When the hell did I walk into the hen house?" Shawn sighed wiping at his brow.

"Watch your language." Maddie motioned to Zuri who was still hunkering behind the couch.

"Shawn, kid, this is a big thing. Are you going to see her or-?" Henry said looking at Shawn.

"She's engaged dad."

"Yeah." Henry nodded, "Was it good?" He added awkwardly.

"Henry..." Maddie smacked him with the towel before walking away.

"It was- I'm not sure." Shawn bit his lip to try and hide the smile threatening to escape his mouth. To no avail the smile erupted and Shawn couldn't help but let out a little laugh. "I shouldn't be laughing." Shawn sighed shaking his head.

"What are you gonna do?" Henry crossed his arms.

"About?" Shawn licked his lower lip.

"Juliet? The case?" Henry leaned against the wall.

"Honestly dad, I'm not sure anymore. I'm debating on just getting a ticket and leaving." Shawn confessed.

"You can't leave kid. Your mom won't let you go until you've gotten the medical help you need." Henry reminded Shawn who nodded. "How are you feeling by the way?"

"Uh..." Shawn touched his chest, "After the thing with Gus I kinda had a small attack. My chest is a little compressed from the kiss with Juliet and that whole situation. But I think I'll be okay, and my stomach hurts." Shawn shrugged.

"Need your inhaler?"

Shawn shook his head, "I'll be fine."

"You really need to keep your stress down. What if you have a heart attack?" Henry glared at his son.

"I can get away from all this." Shawn turned and ran back up the stairs and into his room. He shut the door and collapsed into his bed. A few minutes ago he'd been kissing Juliet. Juliet of all the people in the world. Although when he thought about it in detail it did make sense. He had a history with her and her with him. He hugged a pillow close to his chest; smelling the fresh scent of whatever softener his mother had used.

Man he felt like a kid. His parents were milling around downstairs while he lay in his bed chest hurting and feeling completely down. He was so lost with everything going on. His fatherly duty and his need for female companionship were pulling his body in two separate directions. He wanted to hold his daughter close and love her like no one would never come close. Nothing could beat fatherly love.

However he wasn't her mother, he would never be able to bond with her like a woman could. He hated that Zuri would never get that mother figure because he just couldn't provide one for her. Shawn dug his head further into the pillow and took a deep breath. His stomach hurt and his leg felt cramped.

Shawn groaned as a sharp pain spiked from his stomach and up into his chest. He squeezed his eyes shut and took another deep breath.

"Our reservation is in one hour, I expect you to be dressed, groomed and decent before then." Juliet announced walking through the door; the door slammed close as she kicked it with her foot and proceeded into the other room. She placed the bags of groceries onto the kitchen counter, "Shawn, why are there dirty dishes in sink? I told you to wash them!" She yelled making her way over to the sink.

"Shawn!" She looked around the room and suddenly noticed how quiet it was. Usually as soon as she walked into the house she was bombarded by a variety of noises, the TV, music, video games- anything a boy needed to entertain himself. Tonight the house was quiet, it was unlike her boyfriend. She walked into the living room and when she couldn't find him there she walked down the hall and into their bedroom. Shawn was fast asleep.

He was under the covers with his head peeking out and resting on a pillow. Juliet heard a loud pitched whistle of air and deducted that it was coming from him. "Baby?" Juliet walked over and shook him softly; Shawn didn't respond.

"Shawn, walk up sweetie." Juliet kissed the side of his as Shawn began to shift.

"Huh?" He asked with a yawn.

"You were out cold." She sat beside him.

"What time is it?" Shawn scooted close to her body and wrapped his arm around her waist. She laid down fully and gripped his arm to her chest.

"Almost five," She whispered. She felt as Shawn nuzzled his nose in her hair. Juliet reached down and hooked his leg around hers. They laid there quietly for a few minutes before Shawn shifted and laid on his back; letting all contact with her go. "You okay?" Juliet rolled onto her other side and faced him.

"My stomach is killing me," Shawn told her placing his hand on his stomach, "I laid down around noon to just rest but I must've fallen asleep." He yawned.

"Do you need to use the restroom?" Juliet felt his forehead and cheeks, "You don't have a fever."

Shawn shook his head, "Nah I don't." He looked over and watched as a frown spread across her beautiful face. "What?"

"Nothing," she sighed letting her hand trail down from his cheek; sliding it down onto his stomach. "I don't like it when you don't feel good." She began to rub light circles over his stomach.

He hummed lightly at the feeling, "You're amazing." he closed his eyes as her gentle rubbing began to sooth him.

"I'm guessing I'm going to have to cancel dinner tonight, hmm?" Juliet paused momentarily and smiled at her boyfriend.

Shawn nodded, "I think that'd be best." He yawned one last time before falling asleep with Juliet next to him.

"Shawn? Shawn?" Shawn opened his eyes to find the room bright. His father was kneeling in front of him with a concerned look upon his face. "Thank God kid, you scared the crap out of me." Shawn opened his eyes fully and finally took a look around. He wasn't in his room, but in a hospital.

"What happened?" Shawn groaned trying to sit up.

Henry placed his hand on Shawn's shoulder and gently pushed him back into the bed, "Your mom went to check on you. You and your bed were covered in blood. When you didn't wake up we called 911." Henry backed up and leaned into his chair.

"Why was I bleeding?" Shawn's head moved back and forth as he tried to get a grip on his situation. His side and stomach felt like hell even though he was on some pain medication, or at least he should've been.

"The doctor said you most likely pulled your stitches earlier today. A simple roll in the bed and the stitches opened up." Henry clarified. Shawn looked at his father and noticed blood all over his clothes. "I tried to wake you up while your mom distracted Zuri."

"Oh God…" Shawn smacked his head, "Did she see anything?"

"No. Your mother got her out of the house before the paramedics showed up. We haven't let her in yet." Henry stood up and stretched his arms. "I'll be back." He smacked his lips and walked out of the room. Shawn sighed as Henry disappeared. A few minutes later a soft knock came from the door.

"Come in." He said trying to sit up. A man dressed in a white coat, Carlton Lassiter and Juliet entered the room. "What are you guys doing here?"

"You were called with a new lead but you didn't pick up your phone. Eventually your mother called us and told us you were here." Carlton explained folding his arms with a gruff.

"You pulled your stitches?" Juliet asked in a whisper. Shawn nodded and lifted his arms like the doctor motioned. He looked down to see the large cut on his side. It was red and purple from the recent incidents.

"It seems to be getting infected." The doctor told him, "I'll need to add some antibiotics to your medicine."

"If you're done here doctor, we'd like some alone time with Mister Spencer." Carlton held out his badge, "Police business." The doctor nodded grimly before telling Shawn if he felt stressed or extreme pain to push the call button. Once the door was closed Carlton took a closer stand to Shawn.

"After some evidence and observation, we've discovered who the inside man is." Carlton started.

"You do? No way." Shawn felt his heart began to pump in his chest.

"It was someone you'll never believe Shawn, we were shocked ourselves." Juliet added. She was avoiding his eye contact but at the moment he didn't care.

"Who is it?" Shawn asked one final time.

"Dobson." Carlton let out with a lick of his lips. Shawn looked confusingly at the chief. "Dobson? The detective? But we agreed it was low level."

"We were wrong; we have evidence that claims he's our culprit." Juliet grabbed a file from her purse. Shawn laid back into his bed and starred up at the ceiling. Why Dobson of all people? It didn't make any sense.

"Here it mentions him going into the file room around ten minutes before-," Juliet started but was cut off as the room went dark. "What in the world?" Juliet shouted looking out the window and seeing nothing but darkness.

"I have no idea." Carlton mumbled exiting the room. Shawn sat up quickly and felt a sharp pain in his side. He cried out and gripped the area.

"Shawn!" Juliet rushed over as her eyes adjusted and helped him to lay down.

"What's happening?" Shawn asked his breathing beginning to pick up and his chest constricting.

"I have no idea." Juliet answered him.

I apologize for the long time waiting, my family and I just recently moved and have misplaced our writing. Paper, electronically stored and was erased. I'm slowly trying to recover everything. Anyways, happy late holidays!
