While chapter one's revision was not as noticeable from here, the story will take on its new shape of following at least two different characters around each chapter. I hope you like it.

"What brings you here this early?" Kaname said, trying to keep his voice in its usual calm and reserved tone.

Takuma, looking uncharacteristically rumpled, gave the pureblood a tired smile, "I couldn't sleep."

"What's keeping you up?" Kaname asked, looking for a distraction from his thoughts, "Is Shiki snoring or something?"

"He and Rima left for a shoot yesterday and he has not returned yet. Senri didn't tell me when they were going to be done."

"Oh." The pureblood sighed as he saw the pain in the deep emerald eyes of his childhood friend.

"So why are you out here all alone? Won't Zero be worried when he wakes up to find you missing?"

"I needed some time alone." Kaname's voice was a soulless monotone, "I couldn't face him anymore."

Takuma felt his heart sink, "Please tell me you and Zero did not have another fight. You two had been doing so well these days."

There was a moment of silence between the two before, much to the noble's shock, Kaname broke down in front of him. Takuma placed his hand on Kaname's shoulder before bringing the shaking pureblood into a close embrace.

"Takuma, what am I going to do? I don't know what to do." He whispered over and over again as he buried his head in the crook of his friend's neck in a way he had not done since they had been children, "I can't lose him."

"Kaname, does this have anything to do with the letter you received last night? Wasn't it from the vampire council?"

The brunette nodded, "Those worthless old parasites have become aware that Yuki has come of age and are now demanding that we follow in our parent's example and preserve the purity of our family's blood."

"So you're just going to go along with their demands? You've never done so before."

"You know the laws as well as I do. The council is demanding that Yuki and I are married immediately. It was made clear that if we were to refuse their 'request', it would result in death."

"But you're a pureblood; the very last heir of the Kuran legacy at that!" Takuma realized that he was practically shouting but he couldn't help himself, "They can't kill you!"

"No they wouldn't dare to touch either Yuki or I but they can attack those we love. If I were to refuse, I might as well rip Zero's throat out myself."

"How soon before this all takes place?"

Kaname shook his head, "I'm not sure but knowing the council, they'll be expecting the wedding to happen sooner rather than later."

"I should return to the dorms before the class change-over." The blonde sighed, reluctant to leave his grieving friend, as they heard the last bell of the Day Class rang, "What should I tell Zero when he asks where you are?"

"Tell him I'll be there soon; I just need a moment before I have to ruin the life we have built together."

"Jeesh, Takuma what's wrong? You look so tired." The hunter remarked as he and the blonde walked together to the Night Class classrooms.

"Really?" Takuma self-consciously running his hands over his hair and trying to straighten his uniform, "I didn't realize I had let myself slip."

"You don't look bad, just tired." Zero reassured the fidgeting noble as he smoothed the other's tie, "There, now you're fine."

Takuma stared at the hunter for a moment, the small gesture of kindness catching him off guard. It still amazed him when he thought about how Zero had acted when the Night Class had first been formed those many years ago. Somehow the perpetually angry youth had blossomed into the young man who accepted what he was and now even attended the very class he had claimed to hate. While Takuma had never doubted that the hunter did possess a large heart, he knew it was because of the love of Yuki and Kaname that Zero was able to show it.

"So how is Shiki lately? He doesn't usually doesn't let you out looking less than perfect. Must come with being a professional model where you get paid to look your best. In fact," Zero smirked as the blonde's cheeks heated, "I don't seeing him in class yesterday and it seems strange to not see you hanging onto him."

The blonde couldn't hide his surprise "Does everyone know? I didn't think I was that obvious."

"Of course you're not, but Kaname knew and what Kaname knows, I tend to end up knowing. Besides part of my job of being a hunter is to fully aware of my surroundings."

Takuma let out a sigh of relief, "Senri is at work right now."

"I figured that much. You always get a bit quiet when he's gone. Speaking of gone, have you seen Kaname? He was with me when we went to bed but his side of the bed was cold when I woke up."

"I'm sure he'll turn up soon. You know how Kaname can be." The blonde felt guilty as he spoke the half lie, wanting more than anything to tell Zero that he had seen the pureblood less than an hour ago.

"It's been a long time since I woke up alone. In fact, I almost overslept because I am so used to him waking me up." Zero admitted, remembering how he had to rush around the dorm in order to be ready on time.

"Do you slap Kaname instead of the snooze button?"

"Almost every night." Zero smiled, relaxing into their back and forth, enjoying the comradery that he hadn't had when he was growing up.

Takuma could clearly picture the couple waking up to that routine, "I'm sure Kaname enjoys starting his day with a spanking."

The hunter's mood had fully lifted by the time they arrived at their first classroom. Almost everybody had already gathered inside, waiting for class to begin including Ruka who was brushing her hair as Kain was trying to cheer up a surprisingly sullen Aido. As Takuma went to take his seat, his emerald eyes wavering over the empty seat where Shiki usually sat, Zero decided to check out what was wrong with the ice prince.

"Come on, Hanabusa, you know Yuki has to do what she must as a pureblood. She would never leave you and Yori if she had the choice; she loves you." the redhead tried to encourage his heartbroken cousin.

The golden blonde rubbed his puffy eyes, "I know Akatski, I know. It's just hard to believe that this would happen to us. I mean, how are we going to explain to Yori what…oh hello Zero."

"Good morning, guys." The hunter weakly smiled, "What do you mean-"

Zero's question was cut short by the deep voice of his master, Yagrai Toga, announcing the start of class. "The lesson is starting, so sit down vampires. That means you too, Mr. Kiryu." The elder hunter boomed, "Today we will be learning about the historical bloodsuckers from central Europe starting with Elizabeth Bathory who was better known as The Bloody Countess. Turn to page 129 in your textbooks and Ms. Souen you will begin the reading since you feel the need to talk."

Zero hid a smile as Ruka's eyes flashed an angry red from where she sat next to Kain but a moment later she did begin to read the passage. Having already learned about this particular topic in his hunter studies, Zero's mind began to wander.

"Bathing in blood, huh? Sounds pretty kinky." he thought to himself with a laugh, "I bet Kaname is going to want to try that before bed. Where is he anyhow? It's one thing that he wasn't in bed when I woke up but I really thought he would be here by now."

The silverette looked around the class room, searching the rows of vampires for a set of smiling garnet eyes but his lover was nowhere to be seen. He had originally thought that Kaname might have been catching up on some paperwork in his office but the pureblood had never been late for class before.

The lesson proceeded as usual until almost a half an hour later when a disheveled Kaname burst into the room. His wine colored eyes were a noticeably bright crimson as he scanned the room, his gaze stopping on his silver-haired lover. Without a word, the pureblood walked straight over to Zero's desk. In one fluid moment, he threw the hunter over his shoulder and had already made his way back to the door before anyone had a chance to react.

"Kuran, what the hell do you think you're doing?" Yagrai thundered, only to find himself talking to a closed door, Kaname already gone.

I'm thinking of writing an extra chapter that shows some of the earlier days in Zero and Kaname's (romantic) relationship as they have already been together for about three years by the start of this story. Would anybody be interested?

If so I will post it as "Prequel- You Want Me" next week with the revised Chapter 3.
