Chapter 12

The crowd began to cheer as the young Uchiha appeared in the arena. Most of Konoha had come to the Chunin exams just to see the might of the infamous Uchiha clan.

"It wants your blood." Gaara exclaimed, rising from the ground, his face morphed into a psychotic grin.

"Are we late?" Kakashi asked, ignoring the ravings of the Suna nin.

"Just in time to begin the next match." Genma exclaimed, eying the Suna Jinchuriki warily. The blood lust he was emanating caused his hair to stand on end.

"Next match is between Uchiha Sasuke and Gaara no Subaku." Genma intoned to the crowd. The cheers that followed was louder than he was expecting.

"Remember your mission." Kakashi whispered to Sasuke. With those words, he left. Returning to his post as Inu of the ANBU.

"I will enjoy your death." Gaara stated. Sasuke heard his words, and turned to face his opponent.

"Both combatants ready?" Genma asked, looking the two participants in the eye. "Begin."

With that, Gaara's sand was released from his gourd and flew towards Sasuke at a phenomenal speed. Sasuke moved at the last second, and zeroed in on Gaara. The smirk on his face was evident to his opponent.

Gaara tried to capture the Uchiha as fast as he could, but was starting to get annoyed at the speed that his opponent showed. In a blink of an eye, Sasuke disappeared from his sight. Gaara felt, in that instant, his face get hit very hard, sending him flying backwards.

The civilians within the crowd could not keep up with the movements of Sasuke and the sand, but they cheered none the less when the Suna nin was sent flying.

Sasuke activated his eyes at this moment just as Gaara's sand started to envelop him.

"Oh no, it's too soon." Temari whispered to Kankuro. Naruto heard what was said, a sorrow filled smile making its way to his face. He knew that it was close to time.

He felt the chakra build up from the Suna Jinchuriki. He couldn't believe how the Suna nin was acting. It showed that he was, indeed, treated even worse than his sister, even though both of them were weapons for their villages disposal. Disregarding those thoughts, he looked to his teammate, the young cryptologist. She smiled, as she started making her way towards her post. He just hoped that Sakura was okay. Said girl was in the hospital on standby, knowing that all hands were on deck, especially if this war broke out and claimed many casualties.

Sasuke looked towards his opponent who was hiding within his grand defence. He jumped back and climbed the arena walls. He was preparing his newly achieved attack. He knew, from his training, that Tsuchi was weak against Kaminari, so he had no issue with destroying his opponents shield.

Sasuke put his left hand out, just as electricity started to course through and around it. He was surprised slightly, when he saw an eye floating above the sphere of sand, yet it did not put him off at all.

The electricity increased and those within the arena could see the bluish white glow from their position. They could also hear the loud chirping noise it exuberated.

His preparation complete, Sasuke ran at full speed towards his opponent, dodging the spikes released from the sphere and plunging his electricity covered hand into the sand. There was silence for a second, before a blood curdling scream could be heard.

It was at this moment that a Genjutsu was placed on the crowd.

Sasuke removed his hand from the sphere, just as it exploded in a burst of sand. He was quick enough to jump away from the blast, but was put on guard as the Jinchuriki's siblings came to his side.

Kira and Sai flanked Sasuke, as Baki, the Suna teams' sensei, arrived, looking to inflict damage on the Genin trio.

It was as if a dam had burst, as a mixture of Suna and Sound shinobi took on the defending Konoha nins.

"Get him out of here as fast as you can. Forget the plan, make your way back home." Baki stated to his charges. At his words, Temari's eyes widened in disbelief. Their sensei was going directly against their Father's, the Kazekage's, orders. That was punishable by death.

"You three." Genma exclaimed, gaining the attention of Sasuke, Sai and Kira. "They are not to leave Hi no Kuni, let alone Konoha." He concluded, giving the three his mission parameters.

With that, the Suna trio made a quick dash for the exit, only to be blocked by Naruto. They waited in silence as he observed them.

Naruto took a step close to the trio trying to figure out the seal array that was used on Gaara. Before he could think any further, a Kunai was thrown at him from Baki. He easily dodged, but pretended to stumble as the trio escaped the arena.

Naruto could sense the change in the Kage's seats, from his position on the ground. He took note of a barrier that was erected, its only intent, keeping the Kage's inside, and enemy shinobi out.

"Kukuku. Long-time no see Sarutobi Sensei." Orochimaru exclaimed, his kunai pointed towards the neck of the aged Hokage. Orochimaru plunged the kunai into the Hokage's throat, only to watch it turn to mud and crumble.

"I taught you everything I know." The Sandaime exclaimed from a few paces away, looking intently at his former student. His statement was a lie. He didn't even scratch the surface with the knowledge he had ascertained over the years.

"Never the less, you will die today." They were about to charge at one another, but stopped in their tracks at the next words spoken.

"Mind if I join in?" Naruto asked, confusing the two Kage level shinobi.

"How did you get in here? No-one could make it past the barrier." Orochimaru ranted. Sarutobi was thinking the same thing and wanted to know how this blind shinobi had made it passed the barrier, and snuck up on him and his former student.

"Meh, meh. It was easy. You see I have this neat little trick." Naruto stated, looking intently at Orochimaru.

"Kukuku. So my foolish teammate actually trained you well. Who would have thought that you, the progeny of the Yondaime and some whore, could actually have enough power to stand with the Sandaime, and the great Snake Sanin." Orochimaru stated, much to the anger of Naruto.

Orochimaru saw the change in Naruto's demeanour, and smirked as he felt he had the upper hand. He was about to speak again, when he had to dodge for his life, as a wind blade came straight out of Naruto's sword in a quick draw.

His surprise was evident, and the Hokage took that moment to press the advantage. Orochimaru was on the back foot as he continued to dodge Naruto's wind blades.

The Sandaime went through a few hand signs as the place that Orochimaru was going to land turned into mud. The Sanin, thinking quickly, extended his arms to avoid the substance.

His face morphed into glee as he landed opposite his two opponents. "Let us even the odds." He exclaimed, bringing his hands together.

Two coffins started rising from the ground slowly. The Hokage made sure the third coffin didn't reach the surface.

"Good work Sarutobi Sensei, you know the damage he would inflict." Orochimaru exclaimed, opening the coffins to reveal the Shodaime and Nidaime.

"Sensei, Shodaime Sama." The Sandaime stated, acknowledging his predecessors.

"Saru. You've gotten old." The Shodaime exclaimed.

"This putrid jutsu. Thought no-one knew it. Thought it was destroyed." The Nidaime exclaimed, looking back at Orochimaru.

The five of them looked in one direction as they felt the large chakra of the Kyuubi and the Ichibi.

"Naruto." The Sandaime stated, gaining Naruto's attention. "Can you leave and take care of that. Your sister may be in need of your help." He stated eyeing his opponents warily.

"You will be fine yeah?" Naruto asked, no emotion showing through his voice.

"Are you worried for this old man?" The Sandaime chuckled.

"Haha." Naruto replied with sarcasm. "Shodaime, Nidaime. It is good to finally meet you. Even if under these circumstances." Naruto stated, gaining the attention of all within the chakra construct.

With all eyes on him, Naruto disappeared in a flash of yellow light, leaving behind a shocked looking Sandaime. Orochimaru's eyes widened slowly, as he witnessed his foe disappear in a blink of an eye.

"Clever kid. To take my jutsu and advance it like he did." The Nidaime exclaimed, looking at Sarutobi.

"Enough of this chitter chatter." Orochimaru exclaimed, taking out two kunai, and sticking it into the heads of the Shodaime and Nidaime Hokage.

"Sorry for what is about to happen next Saru." The Nidaime exclaimed.

"So am I." The Sandaime stated with a downtrodden look on his face.
