"No, buddy. She just came straight from her wedding. A Zombie problem. I'll tell you later." I said to not to talk about something serious. I wanted to do some fun.

She hit me with her elbow, "No, later. You want to know this, Mr. Saltzman. Jeremy Gilbert is a zombie.

Alaric shocked, "How? I mean what... tell me everything."

Valerie told him everything and instead of roaming around here and there trying to avoid the boring talks. I constantly looked at her. The way she was speaking, her movement of her hands and sometimes brushing her hairs because they were coming on her face. I wished I could do that for her; the hair part.

Talk was over. We seated on the couch. After a few minutes later, Valerie went to another room to see the twins.

After she was gone, Alaric quickly jumped beside me. I thought What he was planning to do that couldn't be done in front of her.

He spoke softly, "You like her."

How did he know that but still I said, "Who?"

"Don't try to act innocent ,buddy. You can tell me." He offered me a glass of bourbon.

I couldn't play this game of hide and seek anymore. Maybe I should tell him, "Today, she showed up at my house and I got a instant crush on her. I don't know it's going to last longer or not." I tried to act like these things didn't affect me at all.

"So, give it a try. What's the problem?"

"Actually, she's after my brother just like Elena and for making Elena mine I went through a long and complicated process."

"Elena was different. In this, just ask her for a date. I'll build the environment for you. I am going with my daughters for shopping. Till then, have fun." He stood up and shook my hand.

"Why are you acting like my brother." I shrugged.

"Maybe it's best for you." He went to the room where Valerie was there with the twins. After a few minutes all of them stepped out of the room. Alaric and his daughters said goodbye and we were now alone in the house.

I had been alone with her in the Salvatore mansion but in Alaric's home it felt kind of different. I didn't know what to talk. She wasn't taking the first step either.

"Nothing to talk." She laughed a bit. "I have an idea we could play a game invented by me."
