HELLO ALL MY READERS! IT IS I! Here is the newest chapter!
Terribly sorry about taking so long to post any new stuff, but I was preoccupied with stories, life, tacos.
Anyway, here's the newest chapter!
More craziness, more funniness, MORE SNACKS!
Darksword13: I thank you for voicing your concern, but when I checked, it was spelled Kandrakar. BACON!
Lance- Finally you finished! Took you long enough.
Will- I wondered where he went. I thought he'd been kidnapped.
Lance- Nah, they'd return him after, at the MOST, five minutes. Well, since we're here I might as well... Dude, did you steal my snacks...again.
Me- I WANT BACON AND A POTATO!
Will- I'm still not used to him doing that.
Me- ON WITH THE SHOW!
Lance
The school year passed quickly. After a few months of me and Percy competing with the Stoll brothers to see who caused the most trouble, the girls fitting in, and the occansional monster attack, the last day of school had arrived.
The teachers were especially on edge today, probably because they suspected something with me and the Stolls. We did this every year, and each year we were never caught. Our plan was to unleash an army of cockroaches into the school's air vents during lunch.
The classes passed by quickly. I met up with the Stolls while walking to the lunch room. "You guys ready?" I asked as we stepped into the lunchroom. Travis pulled out a plastic baggie filled with all sorts of mini rotten foods. "The roaches are in the science lab. Had to bend the Mist a little to let Ms. Kerring let us store the roaches." Connor looked like he might burst from excitement. "This is gonna be even better than when we replaced all the football uniforms with ballerina dresses." "And the football players had to play in them." Travis laughed.
After we ate our quick lunches (mainly fries and a carton of milk), we snuck out into the hallway. No doubt Billie, the 4 foot 9 hall monitorm, would be roaming the halls, searching for any 'ne'er-do-wells'. The kid takes his job way too seriously. Last year, a foreign exchange student from Europe, Amanda, had been caught outside of class at her own locker. She even had a hall-pass, but Billie still took her to the principal's office. I even saw him tear up the hall-pass on the way there. I also remember when the Stolls and I stole his sash and filled his jacket pockets with shaving cream. As soon as he put the jacket on...SPLOOSH! Instantly covered in cream.
We made our way to the end of the hall. I stopped right at the corner and motioned for the Stolls to stop. I crouched down and pulled out my piece of a car mirror (long story short: It was on a mission before my curse and I broke the mirror on a car to use the biggest piece to peak around corners.) and positioned it to see around the corner. Billie was flirting with Gracie, even though she was clearly annoyed by the snob. She grabbed a book and walked off in the opposite of our direction, leading Billie away as well. I smirked. This was going to be soooo easy.
We quickly yet quietly made our way to the Biology lab. I crouched down again and used my mirror piece again to peak inside. Ms. Kerring wasn't inside. Good. I motioned for the Stolls to follow me inside. Once we were in, Connor locked the door and we went to work. I kept watch at the door to make sure we weren't interrupted while Travis and Connor set up the bait for the roaches. Once the bait was in place, they grabbed the roaches from underneath Ms. Kerring's desk, and made sure the roaches would flow into the vents. I checked back out again. No one was in the hall. Travis and Connor grabbed the baggie and the containers and we made our way back to lunch.
The bell rang for lunch to end and for the next class to begin. I snickered on my way to Biology...with Ms. Kerring. The girls would be there and so would Percy and Annabeth. This was going to be the best prank yet. Class had started and Ms. Kerring made us *gasp* cut open a mollusk. I was paired with Percy, Annabeth was paired with Taranee, Haylin with Cornelia, and Will with Irma. "Okay class," Ms. Kerring started, "now pick up your scapels and-" She didn't finish as roaches swarmed out of the air vents. Every single girl in the class, including Annabeth, as well as some guys, screamed and dashed out of the class. I filed out last with Percy, holding in my laughter.
Out in the halls, every classroom was emptying as quick as it could. When I passed by the classes, roaches were swarming in them as well. The intercom sparked to life. "Students," Principal Jeorge squeaked. No doubt there were roaches in the office as well. "on account of this infestation- get off of me you putrid insects- school will be released early. Please grab your things and head home." This day couldn't get any better, but just then Billie ran by, roaches on his head, screaming, "Get them off! Get them OFF me!" I shrugged, headed for my locker, grabbed my bag, and walked right out the front door.
The Stolls and I met up at the sidewalk closest to school and waited for my friends, cousins, and idiotic brother. "Best. Prank. Ever!" Travis cried. We high-fived eachother, laughing until we were almost red. Percy, Annabeth, and the girls finally showed up. Percy was breathing hard. Annabeth was trying not to laugh, and the girls were checking themselves for any hidden 'visitors'. "Oh man," I managed in between breaths, "that was too funny." Annabeth looked at me, only slightly annoyed. "Couldn't the prank wait until after the class was over?" I shook my head while laughing.
Will looked at me with complete shock. "That was you?" I nodded, calming down. We started off for home. The girls pelted me with questions while we walked. "How did you get so many roaches?" Irma asked. "How did you not get caught?" Hay Lin asked enthusiastically. "Did you have to use roaches?" Cornelia whined. I'd answer their questions at another time.
Will
Well, thanks to Lance, we had a really quick last day of school. I'm actually glad, too. The 'popular girls' had went out of their way to cause us trouble for us, despite Lance's reputation around the school. As we made our way to Percy and Lance's apartment, thunder was sounding overhead. Weird, the weatherman never said there'd be a rainstorm. Percy looked up at the sky and sighed. "Great," he said, "looks like we've been summoned." Lance gave a quick snort. "If they want to talk to us, they can meet us down here." He looked up at the sky. "Well, I'm waiting!" I was about to ask what Lance was doing when I was blinded by a flash of light.
I turned away to let my eyes adjust, blinking the spots away. When I turned around, I saw the most amazing, yet frightening thing yet. It was a woman with long black hair, stromy gray eyes, and a look that said Don't cross me or you'll regret it. She had on a helmet with a red plume running straight back that covered her jet black hair, a flowing white dress that was held together by two gold pins on the shoulders, and in her hand was a spear.
"Hey Athena." Lance said casually. I stood there, bewildered, at the fact that Lance seemed so calm around her! It took all my being not to hide behind Lance. She turned towards him, casting an annoyed glare. "Lance, Zeus does not like to be told what to do, especially from a mortal." Lance shrugged. "Zeus wants a meeting with you all, so I suggest you hurry. Apollo and Artemis are keeping Zeus calm after your little remark." Lance chuckled and looked up at the sky. "Thank guys!" he called. Thunder boomed overhead and in a flash of light, Athena was gone.
"Lance, one day my mom will run out of patience and try to make your life miserable." Annabeth warned as we followed Lance and Percy. "Oh come on Annabeth," Lance chided, "Athena likes Percy and me, she's just too proud to say it." Thunder boomed overhead again. Percy looked up at the Empire State building that was a few blocks away. "Wonder what Zeus wants now."
We kept on walking straight to the Empire State Building. Everything in this city was so massive compared to Sheffield! It took a few minutes to reach the skyscraper due to some horrible taxi drivers. Once inside, Lance and Percy made a beeline for the front desk, behind which sat a very elderly man reading a magazine. "Hey man, Zeus called us sooo.." Lance trailed off.
The old guy looked up from his magazine, then went straight back to reading it. "Sorry kid. No mortals allowed on Olympus." Percy interjected before Lance could tell the guy off. "Look, Zeus summoned all of us, so unless you want an annoyed or possibly angry god coming down here, asking what the hold up is, I suggest you hand us the key." That got his attention. He bent down for a second, then popped back up with a key in his hand. Lance snatched it and led us over to the elevator. "Its gonna be kind of tight, unless you guys want to split up." Percy stated.
"I think it would be best if we split up." Taranee said. Lance looked at Percy, who nodded. "Okay then. I'll take Irma, Cornelia, and Taranee and we'll go second." "Alrighty then," Lance said. He led us into the elevator and the doors slid closed. Lance inserted the key into a lock and a new button with a weird symbol appeared. Lance pressed it and I felt the elevator move. The floors passed by normally, until I saw they were starting to go by in tens, then twenties.
"Uh...Lance? What's wrong with the elevator?" I asked cautiously. He laughed. "Nothing's wrong with it." That didn't exactly calm my nerves.
Lance
It was kind of funny to see the girls' reactions to the elevator going up by tens and twenties. Thankfully the gods had turned off the elevator music. I leaned back against the railing, waiting for the ride to end. "Just so you guys know," I cautioned, "it's kind of overwhelming looking at Olympus for the first time." They both gave a look crossed between worried and confused.
Understandable, as the first time I went to Olympus I had to remember to breathe. The way the mountain changed colors, the city design, even the park took my breath away. The elevators dinged and the doors slid open.
I stepped out as I heard the girls gasp with awe. I half turned towards them. "Welcome to Olympus." I waved at the surrounding area. The Muses were in the park, performing a concert. Minor godling were going about their daily business.
"No way." Will breathed. I saw her turn her head slowly, taking in the surroundings. Hay Lin was the same way but she was smiling. I started walking the way to the gods' Grand Hall while making sure both the girls were following. I pointed out some attractions and godlings on the way there. "See that guy with the two faces? That's Janus, the god of choices and doors." "Why is he wearing a top-hat?" Hay Lin asked.
I gave a small shake of my head. "Not sure, but if you look over there," I pointed to the other side of the road, "is Heracles. Percy and our friends met him when they sailed to Greece and he was a major jerk. However, with some smooth talking from me and some favors being called in, I managed to get Zeus to let him and he's gotten better. Now come on, let's go see what Zeus wants." I led them down the path the went straight to the throne room. As we walked, Hay Lin and Will took in everything about the surroundings. It was like they were kids in a candy store. They arrived at the two towering doors to the throne room, Will and Hay Lin almost bending backwards to look up.
"Yeah, they're pretty big," Percy said from behind us. I looked past him to see the rest of Will's friends doing the same thing Will and Hay Lin not too long ago. I put my hand on the doors to open them, but one of the myrmidons standing guard at either side stopped me. "Halt, Lord Zeus has called an emergency meeting about a recent incident. He has rescheduled your meeting with him at a later date." Percy and I groaned. "Why'd we come all the way here, then?" Percy asked. "Yeah," I said. "Zeus should've sent a message or at least a heads up about it. We came all the way here for nothing." Annabeth, being the smart one, decided to head home. "No point in whining about it. Let's head back to camp. I don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling tired after today." Everyone agreed and we set off for the elevator.
Once we were all back at the lobby, we then headed for Central Park, taking our time to let Will and her friends take in New York. Once we reached the park, Percy and I called four pegasi, each for two people, and we rode back to camp. Annabeth wasn't the only one feeling tired. As we flew, I felt my eyes growing heavy. Camp was below us in a few minutes. We dismounted the pegasi by the Big House. Camp was winding down since the sun was setting. Annabeth went to the Athena cabin while Percy, Will, her friends, and I went to the Poseidon cabin. Once inside, I hopped into my bunk and fell asleep instantly.
So there you have it! The latest chapter!
Now to give a little insight to what's been happening story-writing wise, I've been planning big things!
I can't say much without giving away some serious spoilers (like end of a series before the third book spoilers),
but I can say that Lance will be part of three sagas, each about fifty stories long or so.
Yeah, you heard me.
Three sagas.
Approximately fifty stories each.
That means 150 stories of Lance kicking butt, taking names, and growing up even!
Again, sorry for the huge delay!
Until next time: DEUCE!
