Entry 2 (DMC 1)
I thought I should clarify a few things about what I will be writing about in this diary. I'm only going to write about really interesting stuff, if I wanted to just write about my everyday life, I'd get a blog. Also, I won't write about anything really embarrassing, because I'm sure Lady or Trish will find this diary eventually. Sorry to disappoint ya, babes.
So there I was, sitting in the Devil May Cry. I was, as usual, minding my own business when a motorcycle crashed through the door. A super hot blonde chick got off the bike and walked toward me. Just as this started seeming good she electrocuted me and then stabbed me with my own sword! I responded by pointing my guns at her. She then said, "I'm not your enemy!" Now if this was my ally, I'd hate to meet my enemy! Then she took her sunglasses off and I realized that she looked just like my mom. I thought my mom was hot! Ewwww! I was so stunned by this that I lowered my guns and allowed her to talk.
She told me that the demon emperor Mundus was trying to come to the human world and take it over. Normally, I'd be demanding money for killing this guy, but I had a personal grudge against him. He was the demon that had my mom killed. I agreed to work with her and go to the island that Mundus was at. Now, I know some of you are thinking, "Why would you trust some random chick who attacked you and looks just like your mom?" That's a good question. It was probably cause I didn't feel like shooting someone in the face that looked like my mom. Besides, I was eager to fight Mundus.
Anyway, I followed her to Mallet Island and she jumped over some wall and left me to figure this place out by myself. Not much for teamwork, huh? I went through the castle on the island until I came across this strange statue of a woman who appeared to be in great pain cause there was a sword stuck through her. Suddenly, the sword flew out of the statue and impaled me. Instead of just pulling the sword out of me, I slowly stood and rose up off of the sword. Ouch. I have no idea why I thought that was a good idea.
So I continued on. For a while, nothing special happened until I had my first fight with this dude who seemed oddly familiar. He almost beat me but when he saw the amulet my mother gave me he freaked out and ran off. That was odd.
Then I fought a bunch more stuff until eventually, I came into the final showdown with the dude from before. I fought him, I won, and this time I killed him. That's when I noticed something strange. He was wearing an amulet that looked a lot like mine. When we were young, my mother gave me one half of an amulet and my brother the other half. He wanted my half when we fought at Temi-ni-Gru because if you fused them and a sword called Force Edge together it would create a very powerful sword called the Sparda which was once wielded by, you guessed it, my dad, Sparda. So then I realized this dude was my brother, Vergil! The last time I saw him, he has been trapped in hell. Apparently, Mundus did something to him and turned Vergil into his slave. Now not only has Mundus killed my mom, but he enslaved my brother! Now I wanted revenge more than ever.
I took the completed amulet and fused it with Force Edge, which turned it into the Sparda. I practiced with it for a bit and then moved on.
Eventually, I entered a room and found Trish trapped by a Nightmare, I attacked it, thinking I was going to save her, then she electrocuted me! Not only did it hurt like hell but here I was trying to save her, and this is what I get? It's like Lady all over again! Then she revealed herself to be a servant of Mundus and that this was all a trap. Crap.
I killed the Nightmare and rescued Trish from a falling pillar. She asked me why I saved her. I said it was cause she looks like my mother. Rescuing my enemy was probably not the wisest decision I could have made, but I couldn't just stand there and watch her die.
Eventually, I went to the underworld and entered this big cathedral. It didn't really look like the kind of place I would imagine a demon emporer hanging out, but this was apparently where Mundus was. Then, to my dismay, I discovered that Mundus had Trish captive and was threatening to kill her if I tried anything. I wasn't sure if she was in on this or not but it didn't matter, I couldn't bring myself to let her die. Mundus stabbed me with these big glowy spikes. Just as he was about to try and finish me off, Trish jumped in the way and took the blow for me. Now I was pissed.
I fought Mundus, didn't get to kill him, unfortunately, and said some parting words to Trish. I wanted to take her body with me so I could give her a proper burial but there was no time for that. I raced out of there as fast as I could cause the place was falling to pieces.
I entered into my final battle with Mundus, and what was almost my final battle ever. I was pretty sure I was going to die there, but I was hoping to take him out with me. Then Trish arrived! She wasn't dead after all and she gave me some of her power so I could finish the fight. I didn't get to kill him but I did send him back to where he came from.
Just as Trish was losing hope and thinking we were gonna die, a random biplane came crashing in through the ceiling. We hopped in and rode off on it. I'm sure you're wondering, "How do you know how to drive a biplane?" Well, I'm a man of many talents.
So then I flew out of there with Trish in the back seat and we left Mallet Island behind forever. It blew up and took all the devils that were on it with it.
At first, we renamed the shop Devils Never Cry, but then Lady found out that I had changed the name and she was furious. I changed it back to Devil May Cry since I liked the sound of that name better anyway. Trish was offended cause the new name had been her idea, and she said that I must value Lady's opinion over hers. It's my shop, so why should their opinions on the name even matter?
