Entry 3 (DMC Anime)

So far nobody knows this journal exists. Apparently, nobody is brave enough to snoop around the Devil May Cry because of how dirty it is. Lady found a dead rat in the fridge the other day. Seeing her scream and jump away from the fridge was priceless! Strange isn't it? Battling demons doesn't faze her, but one dead rat has her screaming like a little girl. Women are weird.

I thought it would be a simple mission, escorting some little brat to a mansion while keeping her safe from demons. Little did I know I would be stuck with this nuisance for many years to come. Even after her mother came back, she still visits the Devil May Cry so she can pester me about every little thing. Anyway, Patty was just being used as a decoy by some other girl with the same name so I wasn't even escorting the right girl. What a pointless job.

After the whole thing with Patty, I was back to my usual demon hunting jobs. My next job was to lure out and kill a demon motorcyclist. Of course, because Lady was the one to bring me the job, I didn't make any money.

My next job required me to hunt the wimpiest demon I've ever met. He didn't even try to fight back. Turns out he fell in love with a human girl but her father didn't want them together. I didn't kill the demon since he wasn't really a threat to anyone and eventually him and the human girl got together.

The next interesting thing to happen didn't really involve me all that much. Lady met Trish for the first time and they got into a catfight due to a little misunderstanding. Unfortunately, they are getting along now, which can only be bad news for me.

A few days later, some weird guy started stalking me. Honestly, I have no idea what that was about, but he's mostly leaving me alone now.

I got a somewhat unusual job that required me to bodyguard some treasure hunters. It didn't take long for a demon to show up, so the job quickly turned into my usual type of work. The demon turned out to be a former rock star. Her music is pretty good, it's a shame what happened to her.

I got hired to prove a man's innocence. He was blamed for murdering his best friend. Unsurprisingly, the real culprit turned out to be a demon. What WAS surprising is that I'm pretty sure my client was a ghost.

My next job involved a guy that insisted I was one of his best friends when we were kids. He claimed my name was Anthony and me and my mom were attacked by demons and driven out of town. I did go by the name Tony for a while, but I'm definitely not this Anthony guy that he claims I am. He turned on me after he suspected that I was to blame for the demon attack on his town. This guy has nothing to do with me so he can believe whatever he wants.

My next job required me to gamble. It went better than you'd think, though a lot of people died, I killed the demon responsible, so I guess things worked out okay in the end.

Sometime later a couple of demon brothers showed up and picked a fight with me. Apparently, they were trained by my father, Sparda. Honestly, I expected better from them, they didn't put up much of a fight.

So, something I haven't mentioned until now is that throughout many of these jobs I kept running into a demon named Sid. This demon was obviously up to something, but he was so weak that I didn't really think he was much of a threat. Well, turns out he was more of a threat than I gave him credit for. He had been planning to increase his strength by absorbing the power of a demon called Abigail. That's a pretty lame name for a supposedly super-powerful demon, kinda hard to take it seriously. Anyway, he was the toughest demon I've fought in a long time, but I beat him pretty fast. The idiot thought I wouldn't kill him, but I quickly proved him wrong.

The good news about all this is that Patty found out that her mom is still alive and they live together now. The bad news is that Patty still insists on hanging out at the Devil May Cry and pestering me.
